Last time on Chapter 19…
Mizuki asked Julia about the ordeal with Shuichi, recalling the time she and Izumi went to check Shuichi out of concern after their sushi bar meal. Apparently, they had found a half naked Julia on top of the floored Shuichi.
"This isn't what it looks like!" Shuichi shouted desperately.

Chapter 20 - Answers
Mizuki raised her eyebrow across the table, gauging her friend's reaction to her question. She ignored the slight breeze of the wind, which happened to blow her hair back into the right place. Julia just sat there, slowing sipping her coffee, wondering how to explain this embarrassing situation to her friend. Looking upwards to the clear skies, she inhaled deeply, getting ready to tell her disastrous tale to her dear friend.
"So, you know how he was sick right?" Julia prodded, gesturing her hands nervously and continued, "Well I tried to make him porridge…"
"You made him porridge?" Mizuki looked skeptically at her friend while reaching for another piece of maple glazed bacon, knowing that Julia has never ever lifted up a finger to do chores around the house or cook, mind you.
"I might have," she paused, looking uncertainly towards Mizuki, "added orange juice for flavoring…"
Mizuki decided not to comment and prodded her friend to continue.
"Well, as it turns out, he threw up onto my hair so I had to step into his shower. I guess he took off his shirt too, since, well, it did smell of barf," she said while shaking her head, contemplating whether or not banging her head against the table would be a smart thing to do.
Julia decided that such an action would probably be very un-princess like, would very well hurt, and would cause any onlookers and bystanders to question if she was crazy so she decided against it. Looking down at her fingertips, she refocused herself and said, "I was showering, and was in the middle of getting dressed when I saw this spider creeping down the side of the wall. I was so shocked!"
Mizuki was still trying to comprehend how a spider fits in with how two of her friends were half naked but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
"I screamed, and then ran outside, knocked into Shuichi who was right outside the door. He was trying to stabilize me and get me to regain my senses when you two came in," she finished.
"So, nothing happened between you two?" Mizuki asked again. "If not, then why are you blushing Julia?"
"Well it was quite embarrassing!" Julia shouted.
"Embarrassing is when you accidentally pooped in your pants or danced around naked. This could have been easily stated when we found you two you know. But seeing you two get all red and flustering, anyone would think otherwise. But I'm glad you are okay. I mean...a princess and a chef...cannot be you know," Mizuki stated.
'Yes, it cannot be. He's just a chef. And I am a princess' Julia thought to herself sadly. Her thought was short lived though, as she turned to Mizuki and said, "You should stop changing the topic though. What happened between you and Izumi? Something definitely happened."
"I think we're done with breakfast Julia. Should we go for a walk?" Mizuki countered, trying to get out of having to answer.
"Can we check out the jewelry store on the other side then?" Julia asked. "I think I found a wonderful dolphin pendant I've been wanting to get."
"Okay, okay," Mizuki said, glad to be temporarily off the hook. Hopefully while she's hooked about her dolphin pendant, she will forget to ask about my love life.
"Mizuki, you have changed. You used to be more open to me," Julia commented.
"Well people are not stagnant. I guess I am hanging around the prince too much. Then again, lately I see that Izumi seems a bit brighter," Mizuki said calmly.
"It's not a bad change in you, Mizuki. I mean, I was always worried because you are quite reckless and naive. Hopefully with the prince, both of you can find your balance in a positive way."
"I hope so too, Julia," Mizuki smiled. "I'll tell you about it once I get my feelings sorted out. It's just so confusing right now."
"Well, you should head back, Mizuki. People will be wondering where the boy you is."

That evening, Mizuki contemplated. It's not like she can admit that she woke up being unsure of why she was sharing the same bed as Izumi. Why did her head hurt so much in the morning anyways? Was she drunk? She remembered managing to ignore Izumi the whole day, which is very hard when one is actually said person's personal chef. But seeing that she is a guy, nothing probably happened right? If she did blurt her true gender, he probably would not treat her how he is treating her now. But, what if, what if he did fall in love with her. Would that make him gay? Would Izumi actually love her as Princess Mizuki? Or does he just love Mizuki the Chef? Why is it so complicated? Frustrated that her thoughts are getting her nowhere, Mizuki let out a sigh and tried to once again fall into a dreamless sleep.
A/N: Well let me know how you like it. Is it good? Too different from the original? I do want to see this project to the finish knowing that there are so many people in the community looking forward to reading this and finding out how it ends. Let me know in the comments. Till next time!
