New chapter! Yup...I tried to finish it soon. This is a pretty slow update though...so bear with me here. Thanks to my beta, it is now readable XD Enjoy the chappy my friends!

I thrust my hands into my hair, pulling at the black bangs frantically. Madara just watched me from the chair he was in. "Calm down, girl."

I growled at him. "Can't you just call me by my real name?" I asked. As usual, he just shook his head as I started to pace around the room. It was silent in the house, except for the occasional whisper of wind blowing through the hole in the wall next door.

The rest of the Akatsuki were patrolling around the areas, looking for clues to where Orochimaru might have taken Ren while Madara, Pein, and Konan stayed here, watching over the house and me.

I felt so helpless, so useless. Ren was out there, with a dangerous criminal no less, and here am I in my room with nothing to do but stand here worried to death. I was useless, defenseless, and irresponsible. How could I live with myself if she died? Why would I need to live? She was my guardian, my friend, my sister.

She paid for all the bills, the groceries, and she took care of me! She paid for my art lessons and music lessons even when I could. She was the only person who was there for me when our parents died. Ren was the only person keeping me off the streets and alive. Life sucks.

Madara P.O.V

I watched her in deep thought, a small worry in my heart for her sister. Even if Ren wasn't important to me, I couldn't ignore the fact that she had been taken captive. She also knows about us and our plans, my plans, and she isn't as strong willed as her sister. If she broke her cool and told Orochimaru everything, it would be all over.

"Calm down, we'll find her. We have all the Akatsuki searching for he-"

"But what if we don't!" She screamed, thrusting her hands down to face me. Tears formed in her eyes. I took her shoulder and forced her to sit down next to me.

"We will eventually. Orochimaru isn't stupid enough to wander through the area. He'd be close by." She sighed and shook her head.

"Sorry." She whispered.

"Your moods are annoying." I chuckled. She glared and rolled her eyes, wiping the tears away.

"Yeah? Well you're annoying." I glared at her through my mask. The little bitch… I sighed a moment later, now at ease. But that ease ended when I felt a presence on my side and jumped. Jeen had her head on my shoulder. Frankly, no one has ever touched me in an affectionate way. Actually, I hadn't let anyone touch me in a physical way. They were lucky to touch me and live. The funny thing here was that I actually didn't mind. I even liked it. I wrapped an arm around her shoulders, shocking her. She gave me a small smile before closing her eyes and leaning on me.

Comfort.

That's what she was searching for. Someone who could make you feel safe and protected during your time of distress. In this case, I was the comforter and she the one being comforted. I held her closer in response to that realization.

"I said to relax. Is that so hard?" It was more of a statement than a question. She shook her head.

"I'm just worried." I laughed at her.

"I can see that. I'm not stupid, Jeen. Just don't think. Sometimes it's good for you." She clenched her teeth before standing up and stomping out of the room. I sighed and proceeded to follow her.

"Leader-Sama, go out and search for my sister." Pein looked up from the map he was holding.

"Is that a command?" He growled, standing up. I approached the two.

"Yes, it is. I have an idea of where they are other than our vacation home." Konan put a hand on Pein's shoulder, urging him to do it.

"Fine, we will go," he sighed, "but I want all of the members to regroup before setting out. We will need more weapons than just knifes." Jeen nodded at them before proceeding to the attic doors. I remained by the table.

"Are you sure this is a wise decision, Pein?" He nodded.

"As you said earlier Madara, Ren knows too much about us. She is also the easiest of us to break; therefore, it is our main priority to get her back in time." Konan said, toying with the hem of her blue tank top. I nodded at them.

"I'll keep the risks in consideration. It would be much better to leave right now. We already know how to get back and it would be a lot easier to just go without them knowing." Pein said, but I held up a hand.

"Orochimaru also knows how to get back. Remember, they have Ren. They could take her life any time they wanted to, just so long as they get all of our information." I growled, turning around and picking up the samurai sword.

"Call them back." Pein nodded and put his hands together in a hand sign, sending quick flares of chakra to the rest of the members. I unsheathed the sword and held it in my hands, feeling the tense blade under my fingers.

I slashed it down, cutting a gash into a chair behind Konan. I frowned.

"I take it this sword hasn't been sharpened in a while." I murmured, twisting the blade in my hands. Jeen nodded, coming up with other swords in her arms. Some of them were longer and heavier than the last.

"What's the problem, Leader-Sama.? You suddenly called us back." Itachi said from the back door. Pein nodded.

"We're going to the exact location of Orochimaru's new base. Where's Kisame?" He asked, searching for the ex-Kiri nin.

"Right here." A smooth voice answered from behind Itachi. Pein nodded.

"Good. The others are yet to return. Jeen, give that sword to Kisame." Jeen nodded enthusiastically before handing the sword over. Kisame patted her head and unsheathed it, nodding in approval.

"Thanks, Jeen." Jeen laughed.

"Anything for my shark bud." She replied. Just then, the front door burst open, releasing a strong, cold wind.

"Ok, that was the shittiest place ever. Kakuzu, I can't believe you suggested that place." Hidan growled, wiping the mud off his hands.

"Me? You're the one who wanted to go see what kind of towns they had." He growled, hitting the back of Hidan's head with his gloves.

"The arguing is unnecessary. Just come in quietly for once." Pein sighed. Hidan shook his head. I bounced up and down.

"Where did Hidan-san and Kakuzu-san go? Tobi wants to know!" Jeen rolled her eyes again and I had to inwardly chuckle.

"We went to a shitty town a few blocks over." Hidan mumbled, kicking off his boots and taking a seat.

"Yeah? Well you're shitty. That was the town I was born in asshole." Jeen snapped.

Hidan glared at her. "You little whore. I'll f*cking skin you." Jeen got up.

"Try it, you oversized rag doll." She growled, picking up a knife.

"Oh, you're so dead, you little slut." He hissed, lunging at her. I sprung forwards, taking his wrists and pivoting them away from Jeen, I kicked his legs out and let his body fall, putting a foot against his chest.

"Don't touch Jeen-chan, Hidan." I said, starting to glare. Hidan cursed at me before getting up and taking his seat again.

"Jeen-chan shouldn't be picking fights right now." I said, jumping to face her. I flashed my sharingan at her for warning. Pissed, she stuck her tongue out at me.

"Yeah, that's right you bitch, put the knife away." Without warning, she flipped around and threw it, missing Hidan's head by inches and hitting the wall behind her. Hidan lunged forward, hitting her with his fist square in the jaw. Kisame dropped the sword down to catch Jeen who almost flew into the wall opposite of the knife. He absorbed the impact, holding Jeen still in his grip. Itachi had gotten up to pin Hidan down. Jeen's lip was bleeding slightly, the red liquid dripping down her chin and down her neck.

She put on a glare. "You bastard, I'm going to murder you in your sleep." Hidan scoffed from his position.

"Try it, I dare you. Little f*cker." He hissed.

"Enough. We will wait for the rest of the members or so be it, I will end you both." Pein barked. I gasped, but inwardly I chuckled, looking at their shocked, but quiet faces.

"Hidan, go outside and search that quote, "shitty" town again." "WHY?"

"Punishment." Pein deadpanned, turning to Kakuzu. "I want you to keep an eye on your partner next time. I want you to stop him, not Itachi. Do you understand me?"

Kakuzu nodded before hauling Hidan up to his feet and thrusting him in the direction of the front door. He cursed before picking up his shoes and allowing himself to be thrown outside. Kakuzu slammed the door.

"Thanks… Leader-sama." Jeen sighed, hugging Kisame thanks before going to the freezer and pulling out a pack of ice.

"Jeen-chan! It's Tobi's fault you got punched!" I yelled. I did think it was my fault actually. If I had been paying more attention and not dropping my guard, I would have gotten to her in time. I don't know if it was just slow reaction time or the case I wanted her to get hit… No, that wasn't it. Whatever it was, it's too late to change now.

Jeen shook her head.

"No, don't worry about it. I'm going to go upstairs and find a weapon for when we leave." She said, limping out of the room.

I shook my head.

"Pein-sama, can I go make sure she doesn't fall? Tobi doesn't like to see Jeen-chan hurt." Pein nodded, but as I made my way towards the stairs, Pein pulled me over and hissed into my ear, "I hope you're not developing feelings for that girl. If you are, that would just cause unnecessary problems." I nodded before jerking my arm away from him and making my way upstairs. I chuckled at the previous scene.

"Even I'm not sure of that, Nagato." From Jeen's room, I heard rustling sounds and muffled thuds. I opened the door to see her searching around her desk frantically.

"What are you doing?" She looked up and thrust her hands down.

"Trying to find my stupid-ass knife. It's hiding from me, I swear." I shook my head at her before revealing the knife in my hand. She tore her eyes away from her sketch pads and pencils, snatching it out of my hands and thrusting it into her pocket.

"Thanks." She sighed. I rolled my eyes.

Jeen's P.O.V

I smiled up at him, his mask glittering slightly. I cocked my head to the side. "When did you get a mask? I thought you lost all possessions when you arrived here."

He laughed at me. My eye visibly twitched. "I got it from your pile of stuff. The smoke in the room shielded my identity long enough." I smiled at him.

"Good." I said simply. The bad thing with him keeping his face covered, was that I couldn't tell if he was happy or sad or what. I hated that. I liked emotion. I wanted to see if he was mad or happy. I wanted to see him smile. Wait… LIGHTBULB!

Madara P.O.V

For a minute her face was blank, wiped clean of emotion. Her eyes drooped and her smile faded. I thought it was because of me holding her knife, a dangerous weapon obviously precious to her in some way. Or maybe it was the fact I took something of hers? No, she wasn't that childish. She was thinking, yes, but of something clearly beyond me. Was she thinking of her sister? No, she already did her thinking. This is frustrating.

"Madara, I think we should get going. Deidara and Sasori just came back." I nodded and turned my head around, listening.

They were in fact there. I could hear them slam the back door, talking to Pein, arguing about art. I turned back.

It was in one swift motion. She lifted the bottom part of my mask off, making sure it rested on the top of my head, and put a hand on my shoulder. My red eyes widened at the sight of her blue ones, and she kissed me.

She kissed me. I had to admit that I was taken aback by her actions, as they did shock me. She did seem like a shy character when it came to relationships and feelings, so this was a total change of behavior. However, I couldn't say I didn't like it.

I responded back to her, moving my lips slowly against hers. I rested a hand on her shoulder as she wrapped hers around my neck. The taste in my mouth changed to the rusty taste of blood, fresh off her bottom lip from where Hidan had hit her. I felt her heart flutter beneath her chest as we broke apart, breathing heavily.

"Um." She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, and I had to chuckle.

"It seems like you need more practice." I said smugly. Her head snapped up.

"What did you say?" "You heard me." I laughed, smiling. She didn't reply, all she did was look at my face. But then she smiled. A totally pure smile, even though her sister was kidnapped. It was like she had forgotten about everything and anything. Her teeth were pure white.

"I can see your emotions~." She sang, almost skipping out of the room and down the hall. I rolled my eyes at her and pulled my mask down.

Indeed, she could see my emotions. But that was only because I let her.

I couldn't deny that I liked her now and I supposed that we were a small… couple, but what would Pein do if he found out?

I suppose already knew that answer, even before I asked it. Pein would do nothing because I controlled him. I was his leader and he could do nothing to sway me from my decisions. He, however, was in the palm of my hand. I was more than happy. That kiss was more than satisfactory and I felt happy. Truly happy.

I walked in a happy step with one of her knifes in my hands, maybe a few, and trailed after her into the living room.

"Jeen, we're ready to go. Get your weapons and let's go." Sasori said, gesturing for the two of us to follow out the door. Sasori looked at me.

"Tobi, carry her." I nodded.

"Tobi will because Tobi is a good boy~!" Sasori sighed and followed out the door. I made sure they were out of range before speaking.

"Are you ready?" Jeen nodded, lost in thought again. I sighed and used my foot to sweep her off her feet and into my arms. She gasped.

"Hey!" I rolled my eyes. She glared at me before softening up.

"Hey, Madara."

"Hn?"

"You look younger than your actual age." I laughed.

"I take that as a good thing. Thank you." She nodded before resting her head against my chest and falling asleep.
