CHAPTER 16

"Lay Your Claim"

As the group finished their breakfast Miroku and Sesshomaru started clearing the table. A strict glare from Sesshomaru sent Shippou flying up, and he went to do the dishes. Kagome and Sango looked at each other and grinned slowly.

"I can totally get use to this," Sango whispered as Miroku left with the last few items,

"Yeah… Sexy servants are definitely called for," Kagome giggled,

Sesshomaru came to a halt behind her and she stopped, blushing slightly,

"What was that?" he purred seductively into her ear,

"Oh noting," she waved a dismissive hand in the air, trying a posh voice,

Sesshomaru grabbed her hand, kissing it softly. Kagome's blush intensified and Sango practically fell of her chair. Sesshomaru's eyes stayed fixed on Kagome's face. Kagome on the other hand, looked like she was going to die – not knowing whether she should be aroused or scared…

"I asked you a question, love…" he started to kiss her wrist with light caresses,

"I said… Ummm… I said? Oh yes… I said," her breath hitched when he started down her arm,

Sango was holding her breath in order to not burst out laughing… The torture Sesshomaru was inflicting on Kagome was hilarious. She had never in her life seen Kagome so at war with herself. Not even with, she smiled to herself, InuYasha. Miroku's laugh broke her thoughts.

"Geez, man," he laughed again, "Control yourself,"

Sesshomaru's torture on Kagome's flesh stopped just as he reached her shoulder. Goosebumps was evident from as far as Miroku's current position in the doorway.

"Mmm," he hummed into her hair as he lifted his head, making her shiver,

"I suppose I could…" he completely broke contact, making Kagome moan and everyone laugh again.

"Mom you looked flushed, are you ok?" Shippou and Rin just entered, and Shippou showed a lot of concern,

"I'm" she cleared her throat, "I'm fine,"

Shippou coaxed an eyebrow at the adults, Sesshomaru looking everywhere except for at him. Rin giggled when she in turn realised what was going on. Sesshomaru's phone beeped loudly, breaking the awkward silence,

"We must depart," he started and looked at the raven haired woman he had developed deep feelings for,

"…Sadly," he winked, and her blush intensified again,

"Yeah, think I need to get back too," Miroku kissed Sango's hair, hugging her from behind,

"I suppose," both women said at once, making a warm laughter fill the apartment,

Sango helped Miroku clean up her room and getting his things together. Kagome did the same with Sesshomaru in her own room. Shippou kept Rin company on the sofa – Sesshomaru telling them to behave in a very stern voice.

"What are you going to do today?" Kagome tried casually, trying to calm the feeling between her legs. She was trying to make the bed, but the feeling of Sesshomaru staring at her was not helping.

She dared to peek over her shoulder, only to see him lazily leaning against the wall, staring at her. His features where soft and his honey eye's brighter than usual. His face was unreadable though – which made her worry.

"What's wrong?" she turned, showing concern,

He simply shrugged his shoulders and a sly grin spread on his face,

"Usually a smile like that would send me running… Oh no, wait, I still wanna run,"

"Good," his voice played over her nerve endings, sending shivers over her body and intensifying the feeling between her legs. He walked over to her slowly, cupping her small face in his large hands. He could see her internal conflict playing in her eyes,

"I know you don't trust men from my heritage," his thumb traced her cheek, she looked away,

"But I will never hurt you," he tried to look into her eyes, but she would not make eye contact,

"That's what he said too," the ache she felt was evident in her voice and eyes,

"I'm not my brother, Kagome," he tried again, kissing her forehead and nose,

"I know," she finally hugged him, his arms holding her tightly, protectively.

I really hope not, she thought.

"Those two are something, huh?" Miroku was lying on the bed, Sango sitting next to him,

"They are so weird together," Sango started

"Weird?"

"Weird–good, not weird-bad" she smiled.

Sango has never seen Kagome so happy before, but it also made her worry a lot.

"What's wrong?" Miroku caressed her arm with the back of his hand, he loved the way his touch affected her body.

"Just worried,"

"About Kagome? Sango she is happy, and I've known Sesshomaru for a while now, he won't hurt her," Miroku sat up, hugging her lazily,

"But I heard he never stays with someone for long," Sango looked at nothing in front of her,

"He gets bored easily I suppose, but," he kissed her cheek, "I have never seen him like THAT before," both Miroku and Sango giggled,

"I suppose," she started, but got cut off when Miroku started placing soft kisses in her neck.

"Nooo… We can't-" but sadly for Sango, her will power against Miroku has weakened a lot since she had given in the first time.

He pressed her back into the bed, straddling her, looking down at her form. She was already breathing hard, which made a devilish grin spread on Miroku's face.

"What are you doing to me?" Sango asked innocently,

"Well if you speak to me like that, sweet Sango," he leaned down, kissing her hard,

"You are the one who is technically doing it to yourself," he deepened the kiss, making Sango moan into his mouth,

His one hand quickly found the hem of her shirt, the other resting against the bed; taking all the body weight. He traced soft patterns across her stomach and bodice, enjoying the sounds it made Sango make. He toyed with his momentary power before a knock came at the door.

Sango shot up from underneath him – he had no idea how she gotten out so fast though.

"Y-Yes?" she pressed her hands to her cheeks, in an attempt to will the blush away,

Miroku laughed, falling back into his original position.

"Sorry to bother you," Kagome said, opening the door slowly, peeping in just in case.

Sesshomaru and Rin followed close behind her as she entered. Rin ran to Sango, giving her a tight hug, then bolted out the room – most probably to find Shippou.

"We will be taking our leave now," Sesshomaru nodded at the couple on the bed,

"See you both on Monday," he smiled softly, surprising them both.

Taking Kagome's hand into his own, he turned and left the room.

"See, I told you," Miroku's boyish grin made Sango smile. She had to admit to herself that Miroku definitely seemed happier lately.

Walking slowly down the hall of the apartment block with Kagome's hand in his made Sesshomaru smile widely. He was trying is best to keep his usual fast and long strides to a slow stroll. He enjoyed spending time with Kagome. She made him feel truly happy. He was not ever really the kind of guy to stick around for very long, but she was different. He usually stopped seeing others when he could see they could not or would not accept Rin in a motherly way. But Kagome – he looked down at the raven haired beauty, chatting away happily – was different. She showed a great love towards both him and Rin. She smiled up at him, making his heart skip a beat. He smiled down at her, a loving smile she had only seen once before.

"Oh! I should get the mail when we get down… Please remind me,"

"Of course,"

She continued chatting away happily, and he listened happily. She was not superficial, she was true and loving. He could not understand why his brother had thrown her away in the first place. Anger rose in his chest as he thought of InuYasha, his dim-witted half-brother who had thrown her away that night. The dim-wit who had treated her so badly in the past and still do due to Sesshomaru's attention towards her-

"Ow!" her voice echoed through his thoughts, bringing him back,

"What is it?" his eyes darted over and around her, looking for the cause of her discomfort,

"You where squashing my hand," she laughed at his protectiveness,

"I apologize," he kissed her hand softly,

"Oh don't be silly, I'll live,"

"Are you sure?" a grin spreading on his lips, "I can come take care of you… and your-" his eyes ran hungrily along her body, "- your, hand,"

She smacked a hand into his chest playfully, he chuckled, Yes, he was an idiot for throwing you away…

"Kagome!" a male voice came from behind them, Sesshomaru felt his hand tighten around hers protectively as she turned towards the voice. The sweet smile on her face made him want to pull a bag over her head, pick her up and run away where no other man can ever see her again.

"Oh, hi Hojo!" she beemed a smile at the boyish looking man,

"I was going to call and ask about that movie that-"

"Hello Hojo, my name is Sesshomaru," he held a hand out towards the intruder,

"Oh, hi!" Hojo smiled taking Sesshomaru's hand for a shake, but winched under the hard grip.

Kagome looked between the men, a scowl was on Sesshomaru's face, and Hojo looked confused,

"Uhhh, well I think we need to get to the car, Rin is waiting and-"

"Yes, let's take our leave, good day Hojo," Sesshomaru turned on his heels and continued towards the car. He was annoyed by the fact that Kagome felt she had to greet properly. He looked over his shoulder to see her giving him a hug and then running towards him. His teeth clenched hard, making his jaw hurt. She is just being friendly, he tried to calm himself, she is just … being … friendly…

"Sorry about that, we went to school together," she beamed again,

"I remember," he continued walking, not allowing her to see his eyes,

"Uhhh are you ok?"

"I'm fine," he took her hand again and practically ran down the stairs.

When they got to the car, Rin greeted Kagome with a tight hug, Shippou greeted Sesshomaru with a hand shake. Shippou and Kagome was heading back towards the building when Sesshomaru saw the man from before heading down the stairs.

"Sesshomaru?" Rin tried when she saw the intense death glare on his face,

"Dad, what's wrong?" she leaned forward to see what he was trying to kill with his glare,

"Ah," she giggled,

"What are you giggling at," he turned his glare towards her, which made her laugh even more,

"Oh nothing. Just never seen you like this before…"

He turned his glare back to Kagome. She was turning the key in the mailbox when Hojo went up to her. His grip on the searing wheel increased, making his knuckles go white. A low growl escaped his throat,

"Go lay your claim on her?" Rin's voice broke the silence,

"What?" he growled again,

Normally this would scare people, but Rin found it funny that her father was freaking out over a woman because it had never happened before.

"Did you tell that guy you are dating?"

"No" Sesshomaru mumbled,

"Then the logical thing to do is to go tell him, otherwise he is going to-"

Sesshomaru stormed out of the car and practically ran towards them. Rin was hosing herself in the car. Hojo kissed Kagome on the hand and turned towards the stairs. Kagome was busy turning to get back to the mailbox when she saw Sesshomaru heading towards her.

"Oh Sesshomaru, did you for-"

He wrapped his arms protectively around her and slammed her into the wall making her gasp. The sound made Hojo stop and turn to see what was happening.

"Hello gorgeous," the devilish grin made Kagome gasp before he took her lips,

What the? was the only thought before her body took over, leaving her mind the spectator. He leaned on his one arm (against the mailbox wall) and used his free hand to caress her breast. She gasped into his fiery advance but did not attempt to stop it. Hojo looked on in horror as the tall man laid claim to her in front of him.

Kagome could not believe what was happening. Sesshomaru, the normally conservative lover, was practically making love to her in public. His strong form was keeping her against the wall. His one leg was planted hard between her own, pressing hard into her need. His one hand was hungrily caressing her bodice the other resting his weight on the wall instead of entirely on her. But what she honestly could not believe was the fact that she was all over him as well. Her arms where around his body, around his next, her hands tangling in and out of his hair, her hands traced over his chest. Then suddenly, Sesshomaru broke the kiss. He was breathing hard, sweat droplets forming in his fringe. His eyes filled with the hunger he just exploited onto her. And then he smiled… The smile was cocky and triumphant. His face beamed with success and ownership – for the lack of a better word. Kagome was dumbfounded. She just stared at his smug face.

"I will see you later," his voice laced, possibly dripping with seduction and he took her mouth once more.

Then he turned ever so slowly towards Hojo, smiling wickedly, and then headed back towards his car. When he finally reached it, Rin looked just as dumbfounded as Kagome had,

"What?" he stared at the little woman next to him,

"You said lay claim," he started the car,

"Yes, I said lay claim, not pee on her like an alpha dog marking his territory!"

"I did not uri-"

"Oh forget it! You just over did it a bit, that's all," Rin waved a dismissive hand at a confused Sesshomaru, whom just took off towards their home.

Hello my fellow lemony lovers! I hope you enjoyed this chapter… Sorry if it's a wee-bit shorter than my usual chapters. But for some reason I could not get this idea out of my head.

Sesshomaru just strikes me as the type of person who can get insanely jealous… Just like InuYasha and their father. I think it is a male trait in that family…

… Anywho …

My vacation has officially started and I have a set list of things I HAVE to do before the end of July… One of them – which I believe will make you all very happy – is to finish and polish up this story.
