Chapter 35: 'Bridge' Over Troubled Waters

Reefside, CA
Everyone waited with bated breath, as they wondered what Conner and Kira would name his child.
"We are going to name my child Bridge," Conner said, "Bridge Michael McKnight. Because he is my 'bridge' over trouble waters, so to speak. And, he is our bridge, so to speak, to your wedding, Dr. O and Ms. Hart."
"That is...interesting," Zordon said, "but it fits. The bridge to the moments we have all been waiting for. Welcome to the world, Bridge, and the side where you truly belong."
"Now all we have to do is wait for the final battle," Kira said, as she held Bridge in her arms. She was going to cherish these few days they'd have with him because at some point, they were going to have to let him go.
"That's not going to take long," Tommy said. "This is going to be it. It's going to be an all-out assault."
"You think so?" Kim said.
"I feel it. She's going to be steamed over the next few days," Tommy said, "because of Ryan, Kaitlin and JB and the rest of the guys over there."
"Admittedly, we had another ulterior motive besides doing it for Hayley," JB said.
"Professor Hart told us many years ago while we were on duty about the allies Grimlord had outside of his army. He didn't really call on any of them, but he did have a brief alliance with Adrianna before we put on the uniforms. It didn't last, but they hurt people in that alliance that Professor Hart was close to," Kaitlin said.
"Professor Hart told us that if the opportunity ever arose to go kick her ass for him," Ryan said. "And that's what we did."
"Thanks for being there for me, guys," Conner said.
"Hey, any time you need us, you call us, OK?" JB said. "Heroes never rest and we always wait to do something positive. That lady is vile and must be eliminated."
A few hours later
Adrianna Repulsa's Palace
M-51 Galaxy
Her head hurt like crazy...the only reason her head didn't hurt worse is because Goldar had been able to stay with her and help provide an ice pack for her throbbing headache.
Her rage was building too.
Her child...her sweet little child...was gone. Taken away just like that. She'd seen the video already...she didn't need to see it again.
Apparently Professor Hart hadn't forgiven her for teaming up with Grimlord that one time, however brief it may have been. That was obvious because his three VR Troopers and two allies of those bastard Rangers had taken away what meant most to her.
That was OK though. She was boiling mad, and she'd never forgive the Rangers, their allies or the VR Troopers for taking her precious child away.
She was done playing games with them now. They were going to get it, and they were going to get it good. She was going to do something she should have done a long time ago, she knew.
She was going to release everything she could bring at them once this throbbing in her head went down. She'd toyed around with them, come close to beating them, but she'd never really shown them what she could really do.
Adrianna couldn't do that anymore. There was an old saying that went something like when you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself.
Now, they were going to find out just what she could do.
"Gather my armies, Goldar, every one of them. We're going to attack them all out when I give the word," Adrianna said.
"You're done playing with them, I assume?" Goldar said.
"Yes. When this throbbing in my head subsides, we're going to attack them head on. I'm either going to destroy them and get my child back or die trying," Adrianna said. "Both of our legacies will be decided very soon."
Goldar knew what she meant by that too.
Those two bastard Rangers, the worst bastards of them all, Tommy and Kimberly, already had a wedding date. February, 2006.
Adrianna had worked for nearly a decade to stop that date from happening. This was, truly, the last chance to keep that from happening.
If they lost and went through the gates of hell to face their fellow monsters without accomplishing their goals, and having to watch Tommy and Kimberly in eternal bliss, they'd have to answer to that forever.
They knew they'd go to hell eventually when their miserable lives were all over, but if they were going to go, they were going to make sure Tommy and Kimberly never made it to their wedding day.
Not to mention, they HAD to get Adrianna's child and Conner back. It was a must.
For Adrianna and her forces, it truly was the last chance.
"The good news is, if worst comes to worst, I have a backup plan," Adrianna said.
"What do you mean by that?" Goldar said.
"You'll see," Adrianna said. "You'll see. Either way, evil will reign supreme when this is all over."
Tuesday, July 26, 2005, late morning
1492 Valencia Drive
Reefside, CA
The birth of Bridge McKnight, as well as what was coming, needless to say, had drawn a crowd.
Not only had all the Dino Thunder Rangers come back home for the occasion, but just about every Ranger team had come into town at some point over the last few days. Tommy and Kim had expected it having been experienced with this sort of support, had overwhelmed Conner with the show of support he had received.
But, there had been an extra special surprise that had shown up on their doorstep that day that had given everyone that little extra spark of energy. No one had expected it.
Apparently, a little birdie had gotten back to Paris and had informed Caroline and Pierre Dumas of what was happening. The second they were informed of what was happening, they'd dropped everything and booked a flight back West.
It had been a good thing for everyone involved too. For everyone that wore the uniform, it gave them some extra motivation. For Caroline and Pierre, they had a safe haven to go to in case worst came to worst and they got to help look after Bridge for a few minutes while the Rangers handled their business.
As for the Rangers, they were just trying to keep loose. Everyone had gotten up that day with the feeling that this would be it. The one fight that could and would decide everything.
Shortly past noon, the alarm blared from downstairs. The Rangers gulped.
This was it. The moment of truth that would decide if all their dreams came true...or if everything they had worked for would perish.
Everyone, as one, raced into the lab and Tommy asked Hayley one simple question. He didn't even need to look to know that the invasion had begun.
"Where are they?" Tommy simply asked.
"Reefside Beach," Hayley said. "She even brought her ship here, for intimidation purposes."
"So it's the whole kitchen sink," Kim said. "OK. Doesn't scare me or anyone here. We're going to finish this here and now."
"Ranger teams, all of you, come with us," Tommy said as he looked at every team in the room. "The rest of you, look after the child. Rita, is the shield in good working order?"
"It's perfect," Rita said. "They can't take the child if he's in here."
"One thing, Tommy," Zedd said. "Rita, Selena and I have decided to stay out of this fight."
"No, come on guys," Tommy said. "We need everyone's help to win this."
"No, I told Zeddy that I think something's off about this whole thing. Something doesn't feel right to me and my instinct tells me we need to stay out of this fight if we can," Rita said.
Kim sighed, but looked at them and nodded her head. She didn't like it, but she'd respect their decision.
Conner nodded, giving Rita a thumbs up before getting into position.
"One last time," Tommy said, grim determination lacing his face, "It's Morphin Time."
"Let's Rocket."
"Go Galactic."
"Magna Power."
"Lightspeed Rescue."
"Titanium Power."
"Time for Time Force."
"Quantum Power."
"Wild Access."
"Ninja Storm, Ranger Form, Ha."
"Thunder Storm, Ranger Form, Ha."
"Samurai Storm, Ranger Form, Ha."
"Dino Thunder, Power Up, Ha."
"White Ranger, Dino Power."
In a brilliant flash of light, all Rangers present teleported to the beach.
Everyone that remained looked at each other and muttered to themselves, "This is it."
As one, the Rangers touched down, not far from a cliff near Reefside Beach.
From their vantage point, they could see below.
Indeed, it was an army.
A massive army.
Adrianna, of course. Goldar. Rito, Gasket. Archerina. Tengas. A new breed of footsoldiers the Rangers hadn't seen yet that looked like, of course, snakes.
"She's pretty much opened the gates of hell, hasn't she?" Tori said, remembering well when Lothor had opened the Abyss about two years ago.
"Yeah, but we've beat bigger odds before," Kim said. Inside though, the wheels were spinning in Kim's head. There was a weird sort of vibe coming from the place and Kim didn't sense that it was coming from Adrianna's army.
Now Kim understood maybe why Rita, Zedd, Divina and Selena decided to stay out of the fight. Something else was afoot.
"We're going to get the drop on them before they can get the drop on us," Tommy said. "We are going to box them in, so they can't spread out at least at first. Here's what we're going to do..."
Meanwhile, below, the massive army was tired of waiting. They'd been out on the beach for about 10 minutes...still no Rangers.
Goldar was just about to discuss going downtown and blowing up Reefside when suddenly, the Dino Thunder Rangers stepped in front of Adrianna blocking her path.
Her eyes narrowed when she saw Conner standing front and center. The man who currently had her child in his custody.
"Five of you, against all of us? Piece of cake," Gasket sneered as he started directing the army to surround the Dino Thunder Rangers.
"They're not alone," a new voice from Gasket's left said, as part of the army turned around and came face to face with the Space Rangers.
"We've got their backs too," a voice said from the right. The entire army turned to the right to see the Ninja Storm Rangers, all six of them.
Before Adrianna's army knew it, more Rangers were jumping off the cliff above and when the Morphin Rangers came off the cliff and stood next to the Dino Thunder team, every Ranger team had Adrianna's army surrounded. There was no place to run.
"It's good to have friends. How's it feel being completely surrounded?" Conner said to Adrianna. "You're not going to cheat against us this time and we're going to make sure you don't."
"Oh is that right?" Adrianna said, winking at Conner. "I'll be taking you and our child back after I'm done with your friends."
"Like I'd let you corrupt him and give him the power to destroy planets," Conner said. "Today we're going to make sure that doesn't happen."
"We'll see about that," Adrianna said. "In the meantime, meet my Vipers."
She waved her Vipers forward; they were humanoid in appearance, but had a lot of the traits of a traditional Viper.
"The rest of you, take her army," Tommy said. "Trey, Conner, Kira, Kim you're with me. Of everyone here we have the biggest score to settle with her. Conner, Triassic mode, please."
Conner nodded and used the Shield of Triumph to transform into Triassic mode.
The teams then split and the melee was underway. Meanwhile, those five Rangers who had been affected the most by Adrianna over the years stood across from her, ready to take her head off.
"You look tough, but you five aren't going to be enough to beat me," Adrianna said. "By the way, where are Rita and her friends? I was sort of hoping they'd come out and play."
"Like they'd ever associate with the likes of you again, ever," Conner said. "They're awesome to have on our side, but we don't need them to win. We've only been playing with you. This ends today."
"You've been playing with me, huh? Well, win or lose the game is just beginning for you, and your friends, especially you Dr. Oliver," Adrianna said calmly. Kim looked at Tommy and they both thought the same thing.
Too calmly.
But then they looked at each other again. They had to do what they needed to do.
Their future depended on it. They'd have to cross any problems when they got to them.
With that, both sides surged forward. As the fight got underway, it was clearly evident that though up against five of the most powerful Rangers ever, Adrianna could hold her own. She was making things look easy, tossing all five of them around like ragdolls. Before they all knew it, all five of them were on the ground, heaving as Adrianna laughed heartily.
"That all you guys have? I was expecting better from five of the most powerful Rangers ever," Adrianna said. She noticed the Rangers were twitching uncomfortably, which was a good thing. They had an idea a plan was in the works, but of course they weren't going to know unless worst came to worst.
Tommy and Kim looked at each other, as they both stood back up. They could hold nothing back anymore. Their future was at stake and backup plan or not, they'd have to deal with that backup plan and the consequences. Adrianna had to be destroyed now to preserve any sort of future.
Standing back up, Tommy and Kim motioned Kira, Conner and Trey to move out of the way. This was going to end here and now.
They then recalled training sessions with Divina, Zordon, Rita, Zedd and Dulcea to help unlock their true potential. No one but those seven had been in those sessions.
They had worked for nearly an entire year to master the true extent of these powers, and now they would have to use them for the first time on the most critical stage of all.
"White Falcon Battelizer," Tommy called.
"Pink Crane Battelizer," Kim called.
The two quickly looked over at the rest of the battle field. They were OK for the moment as the rest of the teams were keeping Adrianna's army at bay.
For the moment, they centered their minds, just like they'd done so many times in practice before. To them, Adrianna was not in the picture for the time being; it was just them, honing their own powers to where they could use them some day.
Then, they locked hands, and everyone could begin to feel what was coming as their power level continuously rose for the next couple of minutes.
When they finally opened their eyes and faced Adrianna, their nemesis for the last eight years, the power was so great that everyone (mostly Rangers, as they had forced the major generals to retreat and there was just a few footsoldiers left) stopped what they were doing and just stared in shock.
What happened next was just as surreal, as when Tommy and Kim released their hands from each other, a searing pink and white vortex with unimaginable power came roaring at Adrianna, who was frozen solid with fear. Even if she could move, it was too late to avoid the onrushing power.
In the next moment, she screamed in unimaginable pain as the vortex ripped through her very soul, tearing it inside out. The revenge that had been building for nearly a decade had finally been released full force, as Tommy and Kim smiled in satisfaction. Now she could feel the pain that she'd put them both through.
When it was all done, amazingly enough, though her beautiful silver dress was in tatters, even though she was bloodied, battered and fried, she managed to stand back up.
Meanwhile, both Tommy and Kim fell to their knees. They'd never used THAT much power before except in practice and though they were both used to it by now, they were still feeling a bit light headed.
Everyone stared in shock at Adrianna, meanwhile. How in the hell had that blast not killed her?
But just as the shock for the Rangers came, it quickly faded. There was still a job to finish.
"Conner, you're up," Tommy called, knowing how much this meant to him.
"Battle Blast," Conner called as from his Triassic mode, he released the full brunt of his power at the woman who had put him through torture as well. The blast hit her head on, one more hit and she'd be finished for sure.
Fittingly, it seemed, it would be Trey, who had his dreams robbed by Adrianna and Mama D thousands of years ago, who would strike the final blow.
"It's Time for a Gold Rush!" Trey yelled, as he full brunt of his Gold Rush attack came hurtling at Adrianna. The blast completely enveloped her, and she knew that was it.
"I give you credit, Rangers, today, you have finally beaten me," Adrianna said weakly. "And Conner, whatever you do, raise our child well. Fare thee well, Rangers."
With that, a massive explosion occurred as Adrianna's very body was extinguished, until the only thing that was left was charred remains.
Rangers one and all then gathered on the beach to celebrate, but their celebration would be short lived, as Tommy heard his communicator chime.
"This is Tommy," Tommy said, his voice with a hint of trepidation.
"Tommy, this is Hayley," Hayley's voice was frantic, "You guys need to get out of there NOW. I mean RIGHT now. I feel a MASSIVE surge in power about...200 yards from where you're standing. It's been growing since you guys destroyed Adrianna! If you guys don't teleport out, right now, you guys will be vulnerable!"
"Got it," Tommy said, his celebratory mood quickly leaving him. No wonder Rita, Selena, Zedd and Divina hadn't joined in the fight.
Adrianna had a backup plan.
"Rangers, retreat. To the Dino Lair," Tommy said. One and all, they teleported out.
They were lucky they had because just a split second later, the ground began to rumble and a hole appeared from out of nowhere not far from where the Rangers had been standing.
About 200 yards, in fact.
From this hole came faces the Rangers hoped they'd never see again, but would again later in the day.
Faces like King Mondo and the entire Machine Army.
Faces like Astronema (not the real one, Karone was safe), Ecliptor, Darkonda, Maligore...and yes, Dark Specter.
Other villains such as Trakeena and Scorpius, the Demons, Master Org and Lothor and his entire army came forward. Then came Mesogog and Zeltrax, with hundreds and hundreds of Tyrannodrones.
And the man leading them all, having been suddenly reborn, was Master Vile.
'Welcome back, forces of evil,' Adrianna's voice boomed as she suddenly appeared in the sky before them, 'I was unsuccessful in taking everything the Rangers held dear, but I had a plan in case I came up short. That plan...is all of you, with a chance to take your ultimate revenge.'
'Go now, and see that the darkness reigns supreme throughout the Galaxy. And Master Vile, darling, if you see those two bastard Rangers Tommy and Kimberly...give them my regards.'
One Hour Later...
The mood should have been euphoric. A mood of final victory.
Instead, even though Adrianna, arguably the nemesis of the past 10 years, had been destroyed, the Rangers world had been shattered.
They all watched on the viewing screen as the reborn army of evil that Adrianna had brought back to life was marching as one, in unison.
And they were marching towards the one place that the original Rangers held dear in their hearts.
Angel Grove. Of course. Where it all started.
No one had to look at another Ranger to know how they were feeling. And certainly, no one dared look at Tommy. He'd done everything possible. Fight through everything Adrianna had put in front of him.
Successfully reunite with his Crane.
Get the gang back together.
See Conner get turned evil, get him back, help him through the anxious moments once he knew he was going to have a child.
Destroy Adrianna.
And yet, it wasn't enough. There was still more work to do.
He was deflated and dejected, and quite frankly so were they all.
Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, Tommy stood up and whistled to get everyone's attention.
When he had it, he said, simply, "Even after all of that, even after they took out their trump card, we're still going to win."
Everyone looked at him like he'd grown a second head. Everyone in the room, against all of that? No way!
"I'm serious, we're going to win, and if you don't think that I want you to leave this room right now," Tommy said. "No negative attitudes. Yes, it's awful that the three headed snake and all those fools are back, but we're still going to win."
"Though, I would like to know how Adrianna managed to pull that off," Tommy said.
"I think I might know the answer," Marah said, coming up front with Dustin. "I'm not 100 percent sure, but I have my suspicions."
"Back right before Lothor opened the Abyss, right before our final battle two years ago, he had a very secret meeting. No one knew about it except him. Not even his top generals, not the space ninjas he had as monsters, no one but him. I never understood what it was about until today."
"I suspect, though not quite certain, that Lothor and Adrianna at some point had a very secret meeting in a clandestine place no one could get to. And I suspect that in that meeting the two exchanged a very powerful weapon," Marah said. "I didn't know for what until I saw what she was after in that battle. It is, quite simply, known as Abyss Dust. But you can think of it as an insurance policy. Basically, it ensures that, even if a villain is destroyed, when they are destroyed, the Abyss Dust sprayed on the ground will combine with the power from the explosion to open a very special doorway to the Abyss of Evil."
Marah noticed the incriminating looks pointed at her and began to break down. She knew it wasn't her fault, but also knew how mad everyone was and that no one would like hearing her news.
"I-if I'd have known...I-I'd have told all of you in a moment. Lothor did-didn't tell anyone about this. I-I'm so sorry, but that's what I suspect..." Marah said, tears falling from her eyes.
"Thank you, Marah," Tommy said, "and guys, stop giving her incriminating looks. It's not her fault. We're still going to win, by the way."
"That is," Tommy said looking at Rita, "provided Kim and I can do that again. Can that be pulled off twice in one day?"
"To put it simply, Tommy, yes," Rita said. "Just like I am sure that if Selena, Divina, Zedd or I had gone out there, we'd be back on the side of evil right now. The evil energy that was out there was enough to keep us away."
Tommy nodded at the four of them, then turned back to the others.
"Admittedly, for most of you in the room right now, you hadn't seen what we were fully capable of until today," Kim said, addressing the rest of the Rangers. "There is a very good reason for that."
"After we rescued Jen and some of our friends back in September," Divina said, "Zedd, Zordon, Rita, Selena and I started having meetings with Tommy and Kim after they had invoked the Metallic Armor in that fight."
"We noticed that their power readings were off the charts and what their potential could be," Zedd said. "To put it in layman's terms, for all of you to understand, if they are together as one and everything breaks right, those two could, literally, destroy every one of those fools that just came out of the Abyss. They are that powerful."
"By themselves?" Rocky said. "You've got to be shitting me."
"Yes, by themselves. Those two over there," Rita said, pointing at Tommy and Kim, "could win this for us all by their lonesome."
"What they did to Adrianna is still not quite the full extent of the powers they possess and they injured a very powerful woman beyond repair," Zordon said.
"We've been practicing on it the whole year in sessions that have been closed to even you guys, for very good reason. No one could know what we were doing but us and we couldn't do anything but practice it until the biggest moment. We are very powerful but it's a great risk," Kim said.
"Now everyone of us should fully understand why Adrianna was after you two," Billy said.
"Now we go after them," Jason said as he prepared to gird up his loins for another fight.
"No. You all will stay here," Kim said. "Tommy and I, this is our fight."
"Are you guys CRAZY?" Adam said. "We do things as a team, right?"
"We do, but Adam, to be honest, they've been after us in particular for 10 years and I've had it with this crap," Tommy said. "I want to be DONE with those fools after today."
"Wait, wait, wait," Phantom Ranger said, "Take me with you."
"You've got something?" Tommy said.
"As a matter of fact, yes," Phantom said. "Marah didn't know about Adrianna having her little secret weapon, but I just so happened to find it laying around her palace."
With that, Phantom held up a vial of glowing, glittering dust.
"It's not much but it's enough that, if we catch them in the Angel Grove Quarry right by the Command Center, which I'm sure they'll be going for, that the magical power of the place combined with that dust will open another Abyss gateway and we can stuff them back in there."
"Brilliant idea," Tommy said. "Where are they now?"
"They're not to the Quarry, but they're getting there."
"OK, then. Sensei Kanoi, if we use our powers can we close the Abyss from anywhere?" Kim asked.
"Yes, your powers would certainly close the doorway," Sensei said.
"OK, Kim, come on, we've got work to do," Tommy said.
"Wait, Tommy," Hayley said. "The doorway from Reefside Beach is still open."
"Can't we come back after we get done dealing with the Addams Family redux?" Tommy asked.
"Nope," Hayley said. "That thing's been open nearly 25 minutes. If it's open 30 minutes or longer your powers won't close it."
Tommy sighed deeply.
"OK, then, we'll go to the Beach. Everyone else stay on standby in case we need you for anything," Tommy said.
"Wait," Rita said as she, Selena, Zedd and Divina stood up. "Take us with you too. We stayed away in that last fight and we want some payback on those bitches."
Tommy nodded as if to say, OK and then waved them forward.
"We'll be back, guys. Let's go. Back to action."
Reefside Beach
Even though the Beach was eerily quiet, Tommy, Kim and Phantom were on the lookout for anything suspicious. The entire area teemed with evil energy and they knew they weren't far.
"Over there," Rita said, pointing to the foot of a hill. There was a glowing vortex, and the three present knew it had to be the Abyss.
"Be careful. We don't know what's inside that thing," Zedd said as they carefully approached the Abyss.
Suddenly, a blast of lightning barely missed their heads.
"You aren't going to close this opening with out a fight, weaklings," a female voice with a terrible Russian accent boomed from near the Abyss. A pharaoh-like female sorceress stood in front of the Abyss, daring the seven to challenge her.
"Hexuba," Tommy hissed, "I've heard of her. Phantom, Rita, Zedd, Selena, Divina can you keep her busy?"
"Absolutely," Divina said.
"You guys have two minutes to close that thing," Hayley said frantically into Tommy's communicator.
"We're on it," Tommy said as he and Kim crept closer to the Abyss and got in position. Hexuba tried frantically to get to them, but the four former evildoers and Phantom Ranger were successfully keeping Hexuba diverted from her assignment.
"Let's do it," Tommy said. Hexuba saw them out of the corner of her eye and tried to blindside them with a blast but Zedd easily deflected it with his staff.
Pink and white energy swirled in their hands and Tommy and Kim willed it forward towards the glowing hole. Moments later, the energy shot forward began to eat away at the evil of the Abyss opening. Hexuba still tried to frantically get there, but it was too late as the hole closed.
Hexuba screamed in frustration but had no time to recover as a powerful pink and white blast came hurtling at her seconds later, incinerating her instantly.
"Next stop, Angel Grove," Tommy said, as the seven heroes then teleported out, hoping to put an end to this drama once and for all.
The Angel Grove Desert
"It's no wonder those Rangers went running when they saw us coming out," Mesogog hissed. "Collectively, we are stronger than they are."
"Just keep quiet, Dino Boy, I've known those Rangers a lot longer than you have," King Mondo said. "They will confront us and when they do, we will have to be ready."
"I want to see Doctor Oliver squirm when I get a hold of him," Zeltrax said. "I swear I will have my eternal revenge on him and that would be bride of his."
"Yes, that wedding must be kept from happening at all costs," Master Vile said. "My now deceased wife has given us a chance to make sure that doesn't happen."
Suddenly, several powerful bolts of lightning hit the ground in front of the villains, sending them all flying.
"Guess again," Tommy hissed as he, Kim, Phantom and the four previous villains appeared before the massive army.
"Just seven fighters?" Fragra, from Lothor's army, said, "This is a joke, right?"
"Not as big a joke as you're about to be. By the way, your perfume stinks. Power Bow!" Kim shouted. This particular arrow was super charged with white and pink lightning and when Kim fired it, it hit Fragra right on the mark, causing her to scream...and fall into the new Abyss opening that she never realized was there.
"How dare you?" Beevil shouted, angrily ready to charge Kim.
"No you don't. Time for you to go be a Queen Bee elsewhere," Tommy said as a spin kick nailed her right between the eyes, sending her back to the same fate.
For the next 20 minutes it went like that. First Lothor's army was thrown back in, then, after a brutal 10 minutes or so, Tommy and Zedd both managed to throw Mesogog, Zeltrax and most of the Tyrannodrones back in. Then, it was Master Org and the Demons' turn, although Bansheera tried to squeeze the life out of Selena but failed as the others came to her rescue.
It didn't take long for the Rangers to throw the Lost Galaxy villains back in, until all that was left was their oldest rivals.
"How long you think it's been, 20, 25 minutes?" Tommy asked Phantom.
"About 25. Close that sumbitch. We'll keep them busy while you do. We can deal with these guys after that. This one's personal."
Though the oldest enemies of the Rangers tried to get to Tommy and Kim before they could close the new Abyss opening, it was too late as the original Power Couple sealed the Abyss door shut.
"Ha, foolish heroes," Witchblade, Zedd's old friend from his evil days, smirked. "You still have us to deal with."
"That won't be a problem," Tommy said. "Not with what we're capable of."
"I'm glad you finally tore yourself away from your boyfriend to come out and play, Selena," Goldar rasped. "Are you scared of me?"
"No, I'm not scared of you, you big baboon. I taught you everything about fighting that you ever knew. Believe that," Selena said.
"Rita, you and Brain Boy made a big mistake staying with the losing team. After your friends are destroyed and we take over you have many nights of pain ahead of you," Master Vile stated. "Not to mention it will be fun indoctrinating Conner's child to evil."
"The only pain you'll be going through is in a few minutes," Zedd responded.
"You guys want to end them right now or should we let them think they have a chance?" Rita asked Tommy.
"Frankly, I'm tired of this and I don't want to deal with them. I want to go home and prepare for our wedding, I think we've been through enough," Tommy said, looking at Kim, "But I'm leaving it up to you."
"No, I agree. As fun as it would be to toy with them, I think we've done enough for today," Kim said.
"You think we can't destroy you. No wonder Zedd and Rita called you loudmouths when they batted for us," Queen Machina said. "We're going to make everyone fall in line with us when this is over."
All Tommy did in response was put his arms out in a horizontal position, with Kim doing the same. Instantly, a hard, tropical storm force wind started picking up, and the monsters, while they remained standing, were having trouble keeping their footing.
Then, Tommy and Kim locked hands again, and let the power build. When it reached critical mass, they let their hands go, and much like with Adrianna, a massive, swirling pink and white vortex came rushing at the monsters.
Only this one was more powerful than the one used on Adrianna because Tommy and Kim had been able to control the wind and use to it to augment their attack. Also, the magical power of the nearby former Command Center was giving Tommy and Kim's attack more power.
The sea of monsters never knew what hit them as Zedd and Rita used their weapons as an added bonus, adding even more power to a devastating attack that swallowed the villains whole.
When it was over, a massive explosion resulted in a brief earthquake that shook the land.
Then, when the smoke cleared and the earthquake stopped all that was left was carnage and wreckage of former monsters littered across the California desert.
Finally, they'd won.
It was all over. The Falcon and Crane were finally home free. The Rangers had achieved their Bridge over troubled waters.
