Chapter 12: Meeting the family.
Lexi rolled over crashed into something next to her. "Good morning." She heard a British voice say.
"Kol is that you?" Lexi asked lifting her head up, she opened her eyes and saw Kol grinning at her.
"I snuck in last night after you had fallen asleep." Kol said rolling over on side so Lexi and him were facing each other.
"Why?" Lexi asked stretching her arms above her head.
"I wanted to speak with you…. When I came to Klaus told me that you had found me and that you would be moving in."
"I'm not moving in Kol…. I'm only staying here for a few days until things calm down at the boarding house." Lexi said jumping out of bed and walking towards the window to open the curtains.
"Well I'm really happy that you're going to be staying here." Kol said suddenly appearing behind Lexi and putting his arms around her.
"You are?" Lexi asked turning around to face him.
"Of course my darling, we will be able to spend more time together and you'll get to know my family." Kol said.
"Oh ya Rebbekeah said something last night about your brother coming to visit today…. How big is your family exactly?" Lexi asked moving out of Kol's arms.
"Elijah our honorable brother… you'll like him everyone always does."
"Do I detect some jealousy, Kol?" Lexi asked as they walked down the stairs.
"Maybe I am a little jealous of my dear brother… I think deep down we all are." Kol said as they walked into the living room.
"Except for me of course." Klaus said walking over to the pair.
"Nicklaus believes that Elijah's honor is his weakness…:" Kol said as he walked over to the table and sat down.
"I know it is a weakness… good morning Alexia I trust you slept well." Klaus replied.
"I did actually thank Klaus." Lexi replied returning his smile.
"When will Elijah be arriving?" Rebbekeah asked as she walked into the room.
"How am I to know?" Klaus snapped at her.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Lexi said waking over to where Kol was sitting.
"Actually he woke on the wrong side of life Lexi." Rebbekeah said.
"Enough you're giving me a migraine."Klaus hissed sitting down on one of the couches.
"So how many more siblings do you have?" Lexi asked after a while dropping herself down on Kol's lap.
"Finn and Elijah are our only other siblings." Kol said grinning like a thresher cat.
"Ahh I see… was always a only child."
"Wasn't that awfully lonely?" Rebbekeah asked.
"Yes it was quit lonely…." Lexi said staring into the distance.
"Well you have us now." Rebbekeah said smiling at her.
"Thank my Rebbekeah." Lexi said just as there was a knock at the door.
"Ahh that must by our dearest brother." Klaus said getting up to answer the door.
"Do Klaus and Elijah get along?" Lexi asked no one in particular.
"They have had their differences but whenever Klaus creates a mess Elijah is right there to help clean it up." Rebbekeah explain just Elijah came into the room.
"It's good to see you Elijah." Rebbekeah said hugging him.
"It's good to see you as well Rebbekeah." Elijah said hugging her back before shaking Kol's hand.
"This is Alexia." Klaus said introducing Lexi and Elijah.
"I prefer Lexi actually but Alexia is fine."
"It a pleasure to be making your acquaintance Alexia." Elijah said half bowing.
"It's nice to meet you too Elijah." Lexi said thinking he looked extremely familiar.
"Lexi is Kol's girlfriend can you believe it they are actually dating." Rebbekeah gushed.
"Ohh hush sister I have dated before." Kol argued.
"Not the kind of relationship you have with Lexi."
" And you Alexia have you had a relationship like the one you have with my brother before?" Klaus asked.
"Actually I was engaged Klaus."Lexi admitted taking a seat next to Kol again.
"That's interesting to hear… where Is this fiancé now may I ask?" Klaus inquired.
"He died… I'm going to get some air." Lexi said.
"Now look at what you've done Nicklaus…. He is a sensitive subject so don't bring it up again." Kol said as Lexi walked out of the house.
"Alexia?" A British voice said behind her.
"Elijah… is there something I can help you with?"Lexi asked with her back to him.
"No nothing I was merely making sure that you were alright.:"
"I'm fine…. I just don't talk about my past."
"I apologize for Nicklaus's behavior he is very protective of his family and he knows that Kol is fond of you"
"So he acts like an ass…. That makes sense." Lexi said turning to face Elijah.
"My brother is a very complicated person but he is also terrified of someone taking his family away from him."
"I have figured that out oddly enough."
"Don't let my brother upset you…. If you do he wins."
"I'll keep that in mind thanks Elijah."
"It is my pleasure."
"This is going to sound strange but have we met before?"
"I don't think so why do you ask?"
"I just fee l like I've met you before but I'm probably only imagining it."Lexi said smiling at Elijah before walking back into the house.
"Alexia one last thing," Elijah said making Lexi turn around.
"Klaus isn't the only one who is protective of his family and if I think you are a danger to my brother or Rebbekeah I won't hesitate in stopping you."
"I understand completely…. When I met Kol I thought he was just a annoying little mouse but I have since changed my mind about him."
"In what way have you changed your mind?" Elijah asked as they walked into the house together.
"He has a kind side to him but he also has a crazy side to him; I just hope he doesn't choose to be the insane boy over the kind one."
Flashback 1920
Elijah was looking out of the window when Rebbekah walked into the room when there was a knock on his bedroom door.
"Enter." He said with his back still to the door. "Nicklaus I told you in not really in the mood for a party tonight."
"Well perhaps we can just talk then." A female voice said.
"Katrina, forgive me poor manners." Elijah said turning and waking over to her.
"Its quit alright Master Elijah." Katrina smiled kindly at Elijah.
"Why aren't you at the party? Are you not having a good time?" Elijah asked worriedly.
"Oh no I am but Nicklaus informed that you weren't in the mood for a party tonight." Katherine said.
"What my brother says is true."
"Perhaps if you talk about what is on your mind you'll feel better." Katherine suggested.
"I just grow tired of the way we are living… so many centuries later and we are still exactly where we were 200 years ago."
"My lord, why don't you leave then?" Katherine enquired.
"I can't my dear Katrina for I have to keep my brother from hurting innocent people."
