Chapter 19.
"You are going to have to face them eventually." Rebekah said to Lexi.
"I will just not yet." Lexi said.
"We've been standing out here for the last three hours so come on." Rebekah said grabbing Lexi by the arm and dragging her into the house.
"Hello we're home." She yelled.
"Hello sister." Klaus said walking down the stairs.
"Hello brother did you miss us."
"How could you be so reckless?" Klaus said walking over to the two women.
"We needed a break from all of you." Lexi said.
"Oh so this little unscheduled trip was your idea." Klaus said glaring at Lexi.
"Yes it was and we wouldn't have come back if we didn't need too."
"You release in leaving with the cure you have put this whole town in danger."
"Don't tell you actually care about these people or this town Klaus you don't care about anything." Rebekah said.
"You're wrong sister I care about a lot of things and a lot of people." Klaus said not taking his eyes off of Lexi.
"Well seems it only took you a centuries for grow a heart brother."
"I have to go Stefan wants to go see Damien and find out what happened to Caroline." Lexi said walking over to Rebekah and hugging her.
"Be careful." Rebekah said.
"You as well." Lexi said before walking out the house without a single look at Klaus.
"Are you okay?" Stefan asked as Lexi climbs into the car.
"Yes I'm fine… can't deal with Klaus or Kol right now; let's go save Caroline."
We have to go home first." Stefan said starting the car.
"We need a plan." Stefan said for about the twentieth time.
"We have plan." Damon said.
"Walking in there and giving him the cure isn't a plan, Damon." Lexi said.
"Why isn't it?"
"We don't have it." Lexi said looking in the fire burning in the fire place.
"What?!"
"Lexi is right Damon; we don't have the cure so we can't give it to him."
"We assumed that you had it because we don't."
"We don't when we got to the crypt Silas was gone and so was the cure." Lexi said.
"So what now?" Damon asked.
"I don't know." Stefan said.
"I have an idea." Lexi said.
"Oh yes and what is it?" Damon asked in irritation.
"I'm going to go talk to him."
"That is not happening." Stefan and Damon said at the same time.
"You two can't stop me; we have to save Caroline and its time I meet this Silas."
"Why would he want to talk to you?" Stefan asked.
"I met a witch a few decades ago that gave me some information about Silas that I think he would fine rather interesting or at the very least distract him long enough for us to find the cure."
"What did she tell you?" Damon asked.
"I'll tell you once we have rescued Caroline."
"How do you know this will work?" Stefan asked.
"I don't Stefan, but it's the best plan we have that doesn't involve someone dying." Lexi said walking to the front door and pulling on her jacket.
"You're not going alone." Stefan said blocking Lexi's path.
"I won't be going alone; he will be coming with me." Lexi said looking at the stairs. As in on queue Charles made his way downstairs.
"Why is he going with you and not us?" Stefan asked clearly hurt.
"Can you guys give us a minute?" Lexi said opening the door and walking outside with Stefan behind her.
"Look Stefan I am not doing this to hurt you or to prove a point."
"I don't trust him, Lexi."
"I know and neither do I but he feels he has to be there for me because of Lee so he is loyal which will just have to be enough for now."
"You clearly have a plan what is it?" Stefan asked.
"When its worked I'll tell you." Lexi said as Charles walked out of the boarding house with Damon right behind him.
"Shall we go?" Charles asked looking between Lexi and Stefan.
"Yes we shall." Lexi asked walking over to Stefan's car.
"Lexi…" Stefan said making Lexi turn to look at him just in time to see him throw the car keys at her.
"Thanks." Lexi said climbing into the driver's seat.
After about ten minutes of driving Charles turned to Lexi. "Stefan cares deeply for you."
"I know he does we have been friends for a very long time; I know him better than anyone." Lexi said not taking her eyes off of the road.
"How did you two meet?"
"I was back in Stefan's ripper days… he tried to feed on me thinking I was human." Lexi replied smiling slightly.
"Sounds like a interesting story."
"One that I don't feel like telling at the moment."
"I didn't mean to pry."
"Why did you agree to come with me to go talk to Silas?"
"I care for the little blonde vampire… she has so much life in her reminds of a girl I once knew."Charles said seeming to himself.
"Was she a friend or a lover?" Lexi asked.
"She was my wife; she passed away a few years ago."
"I'm sorry to hear that but I know what you're going thru."
"Thank you; now are you going to tell me you brought me alone?"
"Well its simple you need to go rescue Caroline while I distract the big bad wolf with my story."
"That's your plan?" Charles said after about two minutes of silence.
"Yes it is…" Lexi's sentence trailed off when she saw the huge mansion in front of them.
"Someone looks like the enjoy being alive again."
"Don't you mean evil feel like I'm driving to my death."
"Let's just be careful alright?"
"Agreed; you go find Caroline." Lexi asked as she walked towards the front door and Charles disappeared.
"Hello is anyone home?" Lexi asked closing the huge wooden door behind her.
"Hello there." A voice said from the shadows."
"I'm to talk to Silas."
"Well here I am." Silas said stepping out of the shadows."
"You look like..."
"Yes your dear Stefan." Silas / Stefan said smiling at Lexi…
