CHAPTER 20:
"Caroline? Are you here?" Charles as he opened the door to the basement.
"Charles? Is that you?" Caroline's voice replied from the darkness.
"Yes it's me love, I'm here to help you but you have to tell me where you are."
"I'm the last cell but be careful the gate has been coated in vervain."
"Just hang in there I'm coming?" Charles said running down the hall to the last cell.
"I need you to get against the wall far away from the door I'm going to kick it open." Charles said.
"Okay, go for it." Caroline said just as Charles kicks the gate open.
"Are you okay?" Charles said putting Caroline's arm over her shoulder and helping her stand.
"Yes I'm fine how did you find me?"
"Lexi is talking to Silas and told me to come find you." Charles explained.
"What? You left her in there alone with him?"
"She is very stubborn and only brought me along to save you." Charles said as he led her to the doors which would them to the outside world.
"Take me to the car then go find her… Silas is dangerous and is very interested in Lexi."
"What? Why?" Charles asked leading Caroline to the car.
