Chapter 21:
"I don't understand… how do you look exactly like Stefan?" Lexi asked her voice a little shaky.
"I was born long before your Stefan was born, Lexi; so technically he looks like me." Silas explained.
"I've come to rescue Caroline."
"Your friend already did while you've been in here distracting me."
"Who says I'm distracting you? Maybe I just want to meet the great and powerful Silas that everyone seems to be so scared of."
"So everyone is scared of me?" Silas asked sounds happy about it.
"Isn't that want you want? For everyone to be too scared to even utter your name?"
"Fear is your greatest power."
"Don't wish that you'd meet someone who isn't scared of you though?" Lexi asked walking over to one of the couches and sitting down.
"I have but I don't really care anymore what people think of me." Silas said.
"Must be rather lonely being, you."
"You ask a lot of questions and seem to make yourself at home no matter where you go."
"I like to know things."
"And you know that I could kill you right now if I wanted too."
"And yet I'm still here?"
"Could change my mind at any minute." Silas said
"It could so why hasn't it?"
"You are interesting to me."
"You think I'm interesting trying to figure out if that's a good thing o a bad thing." Lexi said crossing her legs.
"You don't need to worry about being safe with me Alexia I won't let anything happen to you."
"I don't trust you so I won't believe you and I think it's time for me to be going." Lexi said standing up.
"You are a lot like you're mother, Alexia." Silas said making Lexi slowly turn to face him.
"What do you know about my mother" Lexi asked slowly.
"More than you know about her."
"Lexi are you alright?" Charles asked walking into the room.
"What? Yes I'm fine let's get out of here." Lexi said turning on her heal.
"When you are ready to find out the truth about your family and who you are Alexia you know where to find me." Silas said as they walked out of the house.
"Ohh thank goodness are you two okay?" Caroline asked as we got into the car.
"Yes we are fine Caroline." Charles when Lexi didn't say anything.
"Lexi?"
"What? Ohh sorry yeah I'm fine Caroline." Lexi said as she started the car.
"Hey." Stefan said walking on to the balcony where Lexi was standing.
"How's Caroline doing?" Lexi asked while looking at the sunset.
"She's a little shaken up but she will be okay."
"Good I'm we got to her when we did."
"Charles told me what Silas said to you." Stefan said after a few minutes of silence.
" I don't know what to think about that Stefan."
"It's a lie he is baiting you; he is using something personal about you to make you go back to him so he can lie to you and trick you into trusting him."
"What if he isn't Stefan?" Lexi asked turning to face Stefan.
"How would he know anything about your mother that you don't?"
"I barely knew my mother Stefan; there are reasons I never talk about my family to anyone not even you."
"What happened to you mother, Lexi?" Stefan asked walking over to Lexi.
"She died; I was ten years old when this pack of vampires came into town."
"They killed her?"
"She left that morning for work and she never came back; they killed her and had fun doing it." Lexi said turning away from Stefan.
"You've never mentioned her before."
"It's not something I talk about to anyone, Stefan."
"So you want to go talk to Silas?" Stefan asked walking towards the door.\
"Well yes I do; where are you going?" Lexi asked confused.
"I'm going with you."
"No you're not its too dangerous."
"Exactly why you shouldn't be going alone." Stefan said holding the door open for Lexi.
"Thanks Stefan." Lexi said as she walked through the door.
