Chapter 24:
"Come on, Lexi you can do this." Lexi said as she sat in her car in front of the Michaelson's mansion.
"You do realise that you have been sitting in your car for the last half hour Miss Branson." Elijah said suddenly appearing next to Lexi's car.
"You know it's rude to ease drop." Lexi said getting out of the car.
"I was not ease dropping I was just going for a walk when I saw you sitting in your car." Elijah said closing Lexi's car door behind Lexi.
"Oh I'm sorry thought you were." Lexi said leaning against her car.
"You don't seem to be ready to go inside do you want to join me for a walk?" Elijah asked offering his arm to Lexi.
"If it'll keep me from having to go in there sure why not." Lexi said taking Elijah's arm.
"So would you like to tell me what is on your mind because from what I understand people don't generally sit in their cars for hours just because they want to." Elijah said after the pair walked in silence for a while.
"Well I came here to talk to your brothers but I don't exactly know what to say to the two of them." Lexi said.
"You were hoping that sitting in your car would help you think of something to say to them?"
"Well no I know what to say just uncertain." Lexi said as they turned left on the pathway into the forest.
"Can I give you some advice?" Elijah asked.
"Sure you can."
"In my experience when you know you have something to do or to say it's usually best to just do or say it." Elijah said.
"It's that easy though." Lexi said as they walked to a bench in the middle of a little garden.
"It usually isn't but sometimes it's necessary to do it."
"Why did you decide to go for a walk need a break from your family?" Lexi asked as they sat down.
"Well I wouldn't say it in that way but basically yes." Elijah said laughing.
"Were they getting on your nerves? Or you just get tired of being around them?"
"Sometimes some space from your family does you some good." Elijah said slowly.
"So how is your sister?" Lexi asked knowing that Elijah wanted to talk about something else.
"She is well; she misses you dearly though."
"I miss her too but I don't know how she will react to me after I have talked to your brothers."
"I have learnt that my sister doesn't hold grudges easily so even if you break up with Kol she will forgive you."
"How do you know that I am going to break up with Kol?"
"Well you seem to be really conflicted about something and I thought that I would have something to do with him." Elijah said.
"So you are a mind reader now?" Lexi asked.
"No, I was actually just guessing." Elijah said shrugging."
"So tell me, Elijah, what is your story?"
"I am not quite sure what you mean."
"I have noticed that you and your brothers don't always see eye to eye and I was wondering if there was a reason for that." Lexi said crossing her legs and looking expectantly at Elijah.
"My family and I have a long history of not getting along think it's what happens when you have known them for over a millennia." Elijah said in one of his memories.
"Well I feel really young now so thanks." Lexi said standing up.
"Where are you going?" Elijah asked not moving from his stop on the bench.
"I have been procrastinating enough I am going to go talk to your brother." Lexi said walking back the way she came.
"Which brother?" Elijah asked making Lexi turn to look at him over her shoulder.
"I'm not sure yet; thanks for the walk and talk Elijah." Lexi said before walking off.
"It was my pleasure." Elijah said as Lexi left.
