"Lexi someone is downstairs and they are waiting for you." Lexi heard Stefan's voice say through the door.
"I'm not really in the mood for company right now, Stefan." Lexi said curled up in a ball under a blanket.
"He is refusing to leave until he has spoken with you."
"Who is it?" Lexi asked wondering if it was Kol.
"Its Klaus, I suggest you guys talk quickly before Damon gets back and does something stupid." Stefan said opening the door.
"You can bring him up here so we can talk." Lexi said sitting on her bed now.
"Hello Alexia." Klaus said walking into the room.
"Hey." Lexi said not knowing what else to say.
"I am sorry for disturbing you." Klaus said walking other to the window.
"Its ok I was just lying here and thinking." Lexi said.
"What were you thinking about?" Klaus asked looking at Lexi over her shoulder.
"A lot of different things including my fight with your brother." Lexi said.
"I heard about that." Klaus said.
"I am going to assume that you all heard about that." Lexi replied.
"I'm sorry about…."
"About?"
"Everything, you and my brother were fine until I interfered. " Klaus said looking out of the window again.
"It's not your fault, Klaus." Lexi said confused by why Klaus was apologising.
"Yes it is, if I hadn't gotten involved then you two would still be happily together."
"Klaus not to burst your bubble but my fight with Kol had nothing to do with you." Lexi said giggling.
"It didn't?"
"No, I was lying to him about something and I felt bad so I came clean and he didn't take it well; not that I blame him I wold have reacted the same." Lexi said throwing herself down on her bed.
"Ohh well I was worried that I had somehow gotten in the middle of you two."
"Nope has nothing to do with you but I am curious as to why your thought I had something to do with you."
"I don't know…"
"You are lying, tell me why you thought Kol and I would be fighting over you."
"I thought that he had noticed that I liked you and that was what the fight was about."
"Well yes we both noticed it but you want to know the truth?" Lexi asked staring at her celling.
"Of course I do." Klaus said.
"I was confused about my feelings for the two of you for a while but I figured it all out."
"What did you figure out?"
"I figured that I am actually not ready to be with anyone."
"So you were just using my brother?"
"I didn't mean to, Klaus I was and am still in love with someone who isn't around anymore and for some reason I thought I was ready to see someone to maybe fall in love again but I am not."
"I am sorry you lost someone who you love, Alexia I truly am." Klaus said sincerely.
"Thank you, I have to talk to your brother." Lexi said sitting up again.
"Here." Klaus said handing her the phone, which was on the bedside table.
"Thanks Klaus." Lexi said smiling at him.
"You're very welcome." Klaus said before turning to leave.
"Klaus…"
"Yes?" Klaus said turning around.
"Thank you for listening you always seem to be there when I need to talk to someone and I am truly grateful."
"I will always be here for you, Alexia my heart does not allow me to leave your side." And with that Klaus left the room, while Lexi stared wordlessly at the spot where he had just been standing.
"Hey guys." Lexi said walking into the living room where Damon, Elena, Stefan, Bonnie and Jeremy were sitting.
"Hey Lexi, long time on see." Jeremy said getting up from his seat next to Bonnie to hug Lexi hello followed by Bonnie hugging her.
"Wow two hugs, yes I feel loved." Lexi said going a little happy dance.
"Why you in such a good mood?" Stefan asked as Lexi sat down next to him.
"I have made a decision."
"About?" Damon asked.
"Well I have decided to go away for a while."
"What you're leaving?" Stefan asked.
"Well yes only for a few weeks I need to sort something's out in my mind and in my life." Lexi explained.
"Where are you going?" Bonnie asked.
"I was thinking Rome; seeing as I have this now." Lexi said holding up her hand.
"That's a sunlight ring right?" Jeremy asked.
"Yes it is so now I don't have to hide in the darkness anymore."
"When are you leaving?" Stefan asked.
"Tonight." Lexi said.
"Why the rush?"
"I don't want to change my mind."
"You're coming back right?" Stefan asked looking worried.
"Yes I am." Lexi asked elbowing him in the ribs.
"Good you better."
"I will don't worry just need some time alone and away from everyone."
"We can book the flight for you." Damon offered.
"Thanks guys that would help I have to go talk to Kol before I leave." Lexi said.
"You going to go kiss and make up?" Damon asked.
"No Damon, I just going to tell him that I am leaving for a few weeks."
"Aren't you going to tell Klaus?" Elena asked.
"They live in the same house I'm sure Kol will tell him."
"Yes I know but don't you want to tell him yourself."
"Why would I do that?"
"Lexi he came all the way here to check up on you, people don't just do that for no reason." Stefan said.
"He is my friend, Stefan, he thought he had somehow come in between Kol and I."
"Did he?" Bonnie asked.
"No he didn't, all that came between us was the fact that I am not ready to be with someone else and I am getting distracted from my goal."
"Which is?" Jeremy asked.
"To find out who killed Lee, but that is a mystery for when I get back now if you would excuse me I am going to go see Kol then I will come back to say bye to everyone." Lexi said getting up.
"Want me to go pack for you while you're done?" Elena asked.
"That would be great." Lexi deciding that having a war with Elena isn't going to benefit anyone.
"I'll come help you." Bonnie said standing up and following Elena upstairs.
"Thanks you two." Lexi yelled after them.
"See you later." Stefan said handing Lexi he coat.
"Cheer up, Stef, I'll be back in a bit." Lexi asked she slipped it on.
"Hey." Lexi said as Kol opened the door to his room.
"What are you doing here?"
"I am leaving town for a while and I thought I would come say bye." Lexi said staring at the floor.
"Do you want to come inside?" Kol asked.
"No, that's ok just came to say bye." Lexi said turning to leave.
"Can I ask one thing first?" Kol asked stepping out the hall.
"Yes of course you can." Lexi said.
"Was any of it really?"
"Everything was and is real, Kol but I know I just end up hurting you because I'm not ready to be with someone else." Lexi said.
"Are you coming back?"
"Yes I am."
"Will you come see me when you get back?" Kol asked.
"Yes i promise I will." Lexi said giving Kol a light kiss on the cheek.
"See you soon." Kol said kissing Lexi's hand.
