CHAPTER 34:
"Home sweet home." Lexi said to herself as he got off the plane. It has been a month since I have been home and I am ready to get back to my life here and all the drama she thought to herself as she took a deep breath before walking into the airport to go and collect my bags.
She had just gotten her bags and walked through the gates to go and meet her friends waiting to fetch her. She couldn't help but smile when she saw her friends standing to the side holding up a homemade sign that read "Welcome Home Lexi".
"Hey everyone how are you guys?" Lexi asked hugging Stefan hello.
"Hey i am happy that you are home." Stefan asked hugging her back.
"I am also happy to be home." Lexi replied hugging Bonnie and Jeremy hello.
"Did you enjoy your break?" Stefan asked as he and Lexi walk towards his car.
"Yes i did thank you but i am happy to be back and ready to get back into the swing of things." Lexi replied happily.
"Well i have missed you and i am really happy to have you back because as always there is a lot of drama going on." Stefan said.
"There is always some sort of drama." Bonnie said laughing.
"I did expect that when i got off the plane." Lexi replied joining in with the laughter.
"We will let you explain to Lexi what she has missed." Jeremy said as he and Bonnie loaded everything into the car.
"Guys im hungry lets go and get some food before we head home." LExi said giving everyone her puppy eyes so they can't say no.
"We don't have to be home in a hurry so lets go and eat." Bonnie said taking Jeremy's hand and leading the way to the restaurant.
"When did that happen?" Lexi asked nodding towards the loving couple in front of them.
"They sort of just started dating i am actually not sure." Stefan admitted.
"That is good though i am happy they seem to be enjoying each others company." Lexi said as everyone sat down at the table.
"So other than you two who are now dating what have i missed?" Lexi asked after we ordered our food.
"Well we found the witch who says she is the one who cast the spell on Tyler and Caroline." Jeremy said sipping his drink.
"That's good isn't it?" I asked not understanding why no one seemed at all happy about Jeremy's statement.
"Yes it is a good thing but we aren't a hundred percent sure whether or not we can trust this girl or if she is up to something." Bonnie replied.
"Why would you think she is up to something?"
"She came to our house and told us she is the one who cast the spell." Stefan answered for the first time since we sat down.
"That is a little strange i have to agree." I admitted.
"So we are letting her stay with us for a while so we decide what to do about her and the spell." Bonnie said giving Stefan a strange look that i couldn't exactly place.
"Wait hold on, you're are letting this stranger who is claiming to have cast a spell that might have nearly killed Tyler and Caroline stay with you?" i asked as our food arrived.
"Well when you say it like that, it sounds absolutely crazy." Stefan said as we ate.
"That is because it is absolutely crazy." I replied in between bites.
"My idea is to have her stay with us so we can keep an idea on her, Lexi." Stefan admitted.
"Well if you explain it like that it does make sense but this is a dangerous game to play; if she really did cast the spell than she has to be very powerful maybe even more powerful than you Bonnie." I said looking at every person in the group.
"I am aware but there are at least 3 vampires there at one time and Bonnie is there a lot as well so we should be able to control if it becomes necessary." Stefan said slowly think carefully about his words.
"Has she reversed the spell yet?" i asked breaking the somewhat tense silence.
"She needs a lot of power to undo it and so she can only do the spell with the help of Bonnie and the full moon." Stefan explained.
"When is the next full moon?" I asked not liking the idea of some stranger staying in the house with everyone.
"Its in 4 days." Bonnie answered quickly.
"So she is staying with you guys until than?" I asked.
"That is the plan..." Stefan replied sounding unsure about everything.
"Let's get going; I want to meet this witch see what her game is." I said as we paid the bill and left the restaurant.
"Welcome home." Stefan said as we go out of the car as we arrived at home.
"It is good to be home." I said taking one of my suit cases.
We all made our way into the house and Stefan dragged me to the living room where Elena was sitting by the fire place.
"Welcome back Lexi." Elena said as we hugged hello quickly.
"So I am assuming that they all filled you on everything that has been happening around here." Elena asked as we all took a seat in on one of the couches.
"Yes everyone told me about the witch and the spell." I replied yawning.
"Well happy he told you about that part; Stefan will you come help me make some coffee for everybody?" Elena asked giving Stefan a stern look making it clear that it wasn't actually a question but more a command.
"Sure I will be right back." Stefan said getting up and following Elena out of the room.
"Hello Lexi." Damon said walking into the living room.
"Hey Damien, good to be home." Lexi said hugging Damien hello.
"Can I pour you a drink?" Damon asked pouring himself a drink.
"It's 11 in the morning Damon; you can't honestly want to drink right now." I replied shaking my head.
"It's 7 somewhere in the world so that's good enough for me." Damon replied smugly sipping his drink.
"You enjoy that; Elena and Stefan are making coffee for everyone else." I said looking aimlessly out of the window.
"So that is where my lady and brother is." Damon commented as her sat down next to me on the couch.
"So i have been told about the witch but there is something else going around here that someone isn't telling care to comment?" I asked.
"I have no idea what you are talking about and i am not very thrilled with my brother who just decided that the witch is going to stay here." Damon said sounding a little annoyed with his brother.
" You think she is up to something?" i asked Damon.
"She seems to be telling the truth but you cant just let some random woman move in here and stay with us."
"Stefan usually thinks things through before just doing something so what do you think is he reasoning?"
"If i can be completely honest with you?" Damon asked leaning towards me.
"Of course you can." I replied.
"I think my brother has a crush on our new little witch friend."Damon explained.
"Really?" I asked a little surprised by what Damon had just told me.
" i am not hundred percent certain but I know how my brother can get around girls that he is either interest in or confused about what he is felling." Damon explained taking a sip of his drink.
"No one knows Stefan better than the two of us." I said.
"We need to keep an eye on our little brother." Damon agreed.
With that a silent agreement was made between Damon and myself to keep Stefan from doing anything stupid.
"She is in here." We hear Jeremy said to someone.
"Here goes the little witch." Damon said sipping his drink again and looking very bored.
"You keep your mouth shut." I said as i stood up to greet the girl who walked into the room with Jeremy.
"Lexi this is Lucy; Lucy this is Lexi." Jeremy said introducing as.
"Cat fight." Damon chanted before i gave him a look to stop talking.
"It's nice to meet you; Stefan has mentioned a few times, you are very important to him." Lucy said stretching out her hand.
"It's nice to meet you too and yes i have known Stefan for a life time." I replied shaking the girls hand.
"Elena and Stefan are making coffee do you want to join us?" I asked gesturing to the couch across from where i had sat down again next to Damon.
"That would be nice thank you." Lucy replied taking a seat.
"Hey Jer lets go and give everyone a hand with the coffee and give these two ladies time to get to know each other and remember ladies if you break something you pay for it." Damon said before dragging Jeremy out of the room.
"Let's get straight to the point shall we?" I said taking a deep breath.
"You don't trust me and you want me to stay away from Stefan." Lucy said crossing her legs.
"Well i was only going to say the first part' Stefan can take care of himself."
"I am here trying to fix the mess i made, is that so terrible?" Lucy said looking a lot like a little girl as she spoke.
"Why? You have just decided to be a good person? Excuse me if I am a sceptic." I replied.
"I was tricked into casting the spell and when I released what was happening I left and came here to try and fix my mess." Lucy explained calmly.
"How did you realize that you made a mistake?" I asked truly interested.
"The spell I cast is something that the laws of magic won't allow... in order to complete the spell you need to draw power from an alternative source and give it to someone else." Lucy explained carefully.
"You are stealing Tyler's life and giving it to someone else" I questioned.
"That is what the spell does yes; it is dark magic." Lucy explained.
"What is dark magic? I have been around for a long time but I don't know much about magic." I explained.
"There are several different types of magic." Lucy explained.
"She is right about the different types of magic." Bonnie said walking into the room.
"Did you grandmother teach you about magic?" I asked as Bonnie sat down next me.
"Not that much but yes a little bit." Bonnie explained.
"My parent were both witches so they taught a lot about it; I would love to teach you a little bit about us." Lucy said happily.
"That would be great thank you Lucy." Bonnie smiled.
"Back to the point why did you suddenly decide to be a good person?" I asked.
"I was tricked, Klaus wanted to bring someone back that's why i need to cast the spell on Tyler."
"Who did he want to bring back?" I asked.
"I don't know; he never told me."
"That is so evil why would you do it?"
"I don't know." Lucy admitted.
"You care about Klaus thats why you did it isn't it?" I said when the realization hit me.
