Chapter 13 - Reliance
After a few clarifications from Usopp, Naruto finally learned what is wrong with Nami and the others.
Nami happens to be stuck in Franky's body. Franky is now in Chopper's body and Chopper is within the cook's body. Sanji was in Nami's body who in turn hugged her earlier.
That must be the reason why Ace is in a foul mood.
It was really fascinating to the blonde kunoichi and was rather unpleasant for a certain fire wielder, as he cannot hurt Sanji while in Nami's body.
"What did you just said? The samurai went out?" Sanji yelled frustratingly as Brook retold the conversation he had earlier from the dismantled samurai. After asking permission from Luffy, Sanji and Brook went outside to look for Kin'emon. Ace and Zoro came along as per Nami's order.
Why does he have to come with them? Ace wondered begrudgingly to himself as he reluctantly followed his brother's crew.
Naruto stayed behind to give her pirate a peace of mind. Not that trouble can be avoided as the kids started to collapse from intense pain after Chopper found out about the poison inside their system courtesy of this 'Master'.
"We need to take them out!" Naruto said as she avoided the attack from one of the giant kids.
"No! We can't hurt them!" Luffy shouted. But then, he was thrown away by one of the children who started to go wild.
"Luffy!"
"Usopp!" Naruto appeared after she knocked out a few children. There are still more and she could not stop them without hurting anyone. The clones were able to hold them back but knowing that it will not last much as the children are stronger and bigger.
"Do you have something that will put them to sleep?"
"Got it!" Preparing his slingshot Kabuto, Usopp targeted the children. "Hissatsu! Bakusuiboshi!"
After putting the children to sleep, Luffy was motionless after Robin helped him back on his feet. Their prisoner, the half crocodile pirate named Brownbeard, remains unyielding to all their questions so Luffy decided to go back to the lab and find a cure. Robin, Franky and Usopp will accompany him.
It was a moment too soon after the four left when Naruto felt an unfamiliar presence outside their temporary shelter.
"Everyone, get down!" The blonde yelled as she prepares a Rasengan. She knew she was able to stop the attack but then it exploded.
Fuck. She forgot about bullets. With its size, it looks like a cannon. And it hurts like hell.
Naruto tried her best to counter another attack but then her vision started to blur at that exact second. Then all she felt was pain in her dominant arm for hitting another cannonball.
'Damn it!'
Before blackness took her within its grasp, she saw a furred hand, as large as Chopper's Monster form and took Nami away after a strange creature lifted the ceiling and shot their captive. Trying to reach her, Naruto ran towards her but then the other giant noticed her and she was smacked like a fly towards the snow covered rubble. Air was forced out from her lungs upon contact. Somehow, the snow cushioned her fall but that doesn't mean that it did not hurt.
It was like Sasuke is trying to kick her ass all over again back in their Genin days. Damn.
'Ace…'

Ace stilled when he felt like Naruto was calling him.
"Is there something wrong, Ace-san?" Brook asks curiously.
"Naruto seems to be in pain…" Ace muttered as he crossed his arms trying to get a better reading from Naruto's fluctuating chakra signature.
Laughing gleefully, Sanji draped an arm around the flame user's shoulders as if they were close friends. Surely, he knows that Ace will never hurt Nami's beautiful body and he uses it to his advantage to rile the said man up.
"You seem to depend on her too much. Maybe you should slow down, think it over and give her enough space… you know, to breathe…"
Ace bristled from the interruption as he heard Sanji's advice and glared at him while he gently remove the arm on his shoulder. Or Nami's arm. Whatever. "Don't be too cocky, cook. Just because you are in that woman's body, I still cannot guarantee your safety from my hands…" The Whitebeard Commander hissed as he stalked passed the most irritating man on his current existence.
Clenching his fists as he let his fire surrounds his knuckles; Ace sneered in disdain but he still held himself back. He really can't wait to beat this shitty cook for touching his Naruto once everything is back to normal.
"I know ways on how to make someone suffer without leaving traces… But once that wrench is back to her body, she will know and I have enough of her babbling to last for an entire week because of this incident…" Zoro remarked dejectedly that earned Sanji's ire.
"I am not asking for your opinion, you stupid marimo!" Sanji exclaimed lividly as he raised his legs to kick the green haired swordsman.
"Shut up, you shitty cook!" Zoro shouted and draw Shusui from its sheath to slice the bastard up finally disregarding his earlier suggestion with Ace. "I ain't even talking to you!"
Ace drops his jaws after the two completely ignored him. Brook chuckled amusingly beside him and patted him encouragingly on his shoulders.
"They sure are lively as always despite Sanji's current misfortune… Hohoho!"
The four men did not even noticed the snowy trail they are currently at as they already walked passed the person they are looking for who seems to be frozen like the surrounding snow covered land. It squeaked helplessly as four sets of feet stood directly above him.
Poor samurai.

Luffy and the others rushed back towards the shelter. From the entrance, they saw drops of blood following a trail of giant footsteps.
"What the hell happened here?" Usopp yelled as he and Franky located Nami and the others.
"Nami! Chopper! Naruto! Are you all right?" Luffy screamed and threw the boulders that blocked his path. Robin helped as well using her Devil Fruit ability.
"Luffy!" Chopper cried out as he rushed towards them with bandages on his hands. "I'm so sorry, Luffy! They took Nami away. Naruto tried to protect us but she was wounded in the process. I am trying to fixing her arm but then she ran off to look for Nami…"
"W-what!?" Luffy and Usopp's eyes bulge out. For once, they are thinking of the same thing. How a certain Logia type Devil Fruit user will react if he knew what happen to the object of his undivided affection.
Robin frowns in worry as she drops on one knee to touch the area where Naruto must have fallen judging from the broken debris and traces of blood.
"We need to find her, Captain-san. The amount of blood looks fatal…"
"Yes. I need to find her as soon as possible. And Nami too! If my brother knew what happened to Naruto, Ace will definitely kill me…" Luffy shuddered fearfully thinking of the worst possible things his older brother might do to him if something happens to the blonde kunoichi.
As he was about to dash outside, Chopper mentioned what the enemy and the so-called 'Master' did to Brownbeard, Luffy was silent all throughout the doctor's explanation.
"I'm going. You guys stay here and watch over the kids. Robin, help Chopper to treat Mr. Croc's injuries." Luffy commanded seriously as he makes crunching sounds in between his knuckles to prepare for an oncoming fight.
"Okay."
With a salute, Chopper nodded. "You can count on us!"
Meanwhile back at the Research Lab rear entrance…
The men guarding the said area saw a familiar face. With a salute, they greeted the newcomer.
"Law-sama. Where are you going?" One of them asks.
"!?" The famed Surgeon of Death stopped and turned back with an unreadable expression on his face.
"The marines have been sighted nearby and it is best to…"
"Hn! Like I care…" Royal Shichibukai Trafalgar Law commented as he draped his nodachi toward his right shoulder after a brief flick of his wrist. On his wake, remnants of the Master's loyal guard dogs are scattered everywhere.
"Where I want to go… Is my business…" Law said cynically as he went outside the facility.

"Darn it! I can't believe I let those bastards beat me and get away with it…" Naruto clenched her fists tightly as she dashed towards the cliff where the two fuzz covered giants must have taken Nami. She knew that it is possibly a trap so she settled for a jog after she reached the edge and stops behind a large boulder. Dropping on her knees, she inspected the wound on her right arm. It is healing albeit slowly. 'I really needed to hear what Chopper has to say about this stupid illness. Its starting to bug me off…'
Crossing her fingers to create clones, Naruto nodded and let them dispersed strategically on various locations on the said cliff. She left two to gather nature chakra for her forthcoming fight. Luffy must be on his way.
'I need to take down the enemy down. Or at least one of them…'
Hearing the conversation from the two as Nami tried her best to question their motives, Naruto almost laughed out loud when one of the snowmen thought Nami to be an okama. Well, the Navigator stuck in Franky's body might really be considered one. Though the Shipwright prefers to be called a pervert among all things.
Behind her, she could sense Luffy rushing at full speed. And he could not seem to stop.
"Luffy wait! There's a cliff ahead…!"
"Oh! Hi Naruto! Glad you're okay… A cliff? What do you mean?" It was a second too late when he noticed the empty space below him. Ah yes, the cliff Naruto mentioned. Crap. "Aaaggghhhh!"
"Luffy! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" Nami screamed.
"Huh? Nami!" Luffy smiled widely. "Good! Both of you are safe! I'm relieved! Shishishishi!"
"Be careful! There are enemies here!"
Finally noticing a sea of spikes, Luffy wave his hands peevishly and Naruto was about to use Hiraishin to save the younger pirate. However, the straw hat wearing youth already made his move.
Luffy used armament reinforcement to harden his arms in preparation of his commonly used technique. It was similar to what Marco used in one of their Haki lessons.
"Gomu Gomu no… Gatling!"
One of the giants aimed his rifle at Luffy and Naruto made her own move.
"No you won't!" Using the trench knives she got from Shikamaru's sensei, Naruto infused her elemental chakra to cut through these gigantic bullets.
Some went through and Luffy orders her to clear a path for a counterattack.
"Fuusen (Balloon)!" Making himself expand like a balloon, Luffy glared at his attackers. "You're those guys who hurt Brown-croc and Naruto, right? Hmlph!"
"Prepare yourselves!" The rubber man growled scathingly. He cannot forgive them for hurting his friends.
"?!"
"Gomu Gomu no Orei Fire!" Using the bullets his enemy used, Luffy returned them twice their speed and power covering the giant in an explosion.
"Guohh!"
"Rock!" Angered, Scotch shoots at the mountain attempting to bury Luffy and Naruto within it. "Die you bastards!" A large chunk of rock and snow rapidly fell down the mountainside.
"As if I'm letting you kill us…" Naruto muttered. Opening her eyes to revealing yellow toad like irises surrounded by yellow pigmentation. Using Luffy's still extended body to jump higher, she formed a strengthened form of the Rasengan. 'Ugh! This might hurt a little…'
"Rasenshuriken!"
Her attack expands after release creating countless microscopic wind blades that disintegrates the glacier. With a flick of her hands, she controlled the trajectory and targeted the bastard who attacked her friends.
"Eat this!"
"Hm?"
A thundering sound echoed all throughout that was probably heard on the opposite side of the island. Scotch have fallen out cold much to the surprise of his brother and Nami.
"Brother!" Rock cried out.
"Nice! You're too awesome, Naruto!" Raising both his hands, Luffy yelled happily as he ran towards the blonde who wobble on her feet after her attack. The younger man steadied her with one hand on her uninjured arm while sliding it over his shoulder to set her upright.
"Unbelievable! She did it! Way to go Naruto!" Nami cheered. Suddenly, a large hand grabs her and escapes. "Ahhh! Luffy! Naruto! Help!"
"Oh no! Nami!"
Pushing him forward, Naruto summoned her clones to assist him. "Take them with you, I'll follow shortly… Go!"
"Got it! I'll be back shortly!" Luffy left with a worried glanced on her arm. "I'll ask Chopper to fix you up later. Don't worry!"
Rock hops over the mountaintop as if it was some kind of a playground, mocking the little pirate that he is no match for this particular skill. Reaching the plateau, he finds a figure standing as if waiting for someone.
"Its good to see you, Law-san. Straw Hat Luffy is heading this way, I need you to…"
Without further ado, Trafalgar Law draws his sword and sliced the giant into two.
"!?" Nami's eyes widen watching the two. Are they supposed to be allies?
"What is the meaning of this, you traitor?!" As he aim for Law, Rock raises his arm to kill the pirate for attacking him. Law jumps up and put both of his hands on Rock's chest.
"Counter Shock!" Releasing a strong electrical surge from his hands, Law saw Rock falls in a burning heap.
Nami stood with his chains still surrounding her massive body; well it was Franky's and thanked her savior. "Thanks for saving me. Wait, forget that! You give my body back!"
"Oh! Tra-dude! Did you help out Nami?"
"…" Trafalgar did not seem to hear him as he was looking at the clones that came behind the pirate.
Luffy breaks Nami's chain with his teeth much to her shock expression. "Where is the original?" The Navigator enquired the closest clone she could talk to.
One of the clones helped her get up. "Boss is coming in a few seconds… Oh! There she is." A set of hands envelops Franky's massive neck and Nami never felt so safe. She did not even notice the dispelling of clones much to Trafalgar's odd stare.
"I'm glad you're safe, Nami!" The blonde said happily. She looks worn out, otherwise okay.
"Thanks to you, Naruto. And to you as well, Captain," Naruto giggled when they heard Luffy's indignant yell from the background.
"I helped too, ya know!"
"I don't doubt it was pure chance that brought you here, Straw Hat…" Trafalgar Law started as he stared directly towards the newcomer who in turn looks at him curiously.
"I came here to discuss something with you…" Breaking eye contact, Law turned around and walked farther away but still in their hearing range. "Somewhere on this island lies a very important key. Something that has the power to turn the New World upside down."
"If you want to survive, they are two ways. One is to swear allegiance to one of the Four Emperors. The other is to challenge them…" With a slight tilt of his head, he eyed Luffy. "You don't seem to be the kind of pirate that will submit himself to anyone…"
"That's right. I want to be the captain," Luffy commented while Nami bobbed her head in acknowledgement.
"Yeah, that's our Luffy." Naruto smiled in response.
"Why don't we form an alliance, you and I…"
"An alliance?"
"If we work together, we may be able to pull this off…" With a smirk, Trafalgar Law stated in a firm voice. "I have a plan to take down one of the Yonko…"
"!?"
"What?!"

In this story, Naruto and Sasuke never had the chance to do their final battle in the Valley of the End so the two never lost their arm as seen in the manga.
