Chapter 14 – Alliance
Listening to the two captain's conversation, Naruto knew that she has no right to question or interfere in Luffy's own pirate affairs. But that doesn't mean that she cannot give a good advice if needed.
As expected, Chopper and Usopp freaked out when they get back and learned of the alliance while Robin is being observant as always while Nami repeatedly shook her head in frustration.
This Shichibukai looks suspicious even by Kurama's standards but then Luffy trusted him so there is no point in arguing with the obvious. She did hear Usopp's explanation as to what Luffy's understanding might be with the said word and all Law can do is stare at him dumbly.
Indeed, Luffy's way of thinking is so simple that Naruto can even write them in black and white. Complication is a big no no and in some cases, he turns to Robin for an explanation, which the woman obliges dutifully. Naruto herself does have her own problems understanding complicated stuff so she always let Ace do the hard thinking. Perhaps that is the reason why they get along so fine.
The Archeologist even agrees that this 'alliance' is a form of friendship in Luffy's mind. Robin only did mention it to her when they are left alone after Chopper tended to her arm. The expression on the Surgeon's face is enough for Naruto to make a conclusion that he doesn't understand Luffy at all.
"I wonder why those four are taking so long?" Naruto commented as Nami, now in Sanji's body, continues to glare at Law after he fixed their body swap problem.
"Perhaps they've encountered trouble?" Robin interjected in that calm voice of hers.
Nami fretted mumbling about her beautiful and sexy body being damaged by those morons. Naruto pats her shoulder sympathetically.
"Perhaps I needed to follow them, huh? Make sure they stay out of trouble…" Naruto suggested and looks for Luffy to ask his permission. "Your idiotic brother is making me worry. Can I follow them?"
"Okay. Just be careful, hmmm?" Naruto gave Luffy a salute and one cheeky smile.
"Well then, I'm off. See you guys later!" Waving one hand in goodbye, Naruto closed her eyes and sensed for her pirate. "Found them!" The blonde exclaimed happily while she made the necessary hand seals.
"Be careful, Shinobi-san." Naruto heard Robin and she smiled affectionately at her. She even saw the Schichibukai looking at her strangely. With a cheeky smile, the blonde kunoichi winked at him as she lets herself disappears in a yellow flash.
Trafalgar Law stares curiously at Naruto's vacated spot. He never heard or knew of a Devil Fruit ability that can travel places and create duplicates or clones as what he had seen from their earlier encounter. How peculiar.
"If you know what's good for you, don't even think of dragging her into your so called 'schemes'…" Nami's glare intensifies. Law frowned when the other woman stood beside her while the Sniper flitted nervously behind them. "It's bad enough that Luffy wanted to help you. And despite of what his understanding means of this 'alliance', ordering him around is not going to work…"
"As far as headstrong selfishness goes around here, Luffy is on the same level as the Yonko…" Usopp added informatively and Robin nodded to the said statement as well.
"That is quite right…"
"I really don't think what the rest of you are trying to imply…" Law did ignore the carefree looking Luffy who seems to ignore what the rest of his crew are talking about as he continue to pick on his nose while sitting in between Franky and Chopper. "…Has anything to do with our alliance…"
Waving her hands dismissively, Nami retorted defiantly. "No matter, just leave Naruto alone. Unless you want to face Ace's wrath."
"The Pirate King's son?"
"I'm going to be the Pirate King, not Ace!" Luffy declared boldly as Franky chuckled amusingly beside him as Usopp complained that he is getting off topic.
Law ignored everything altogether and proceeded to accompany Chopper and get the information the said reindeer needs about the drugs used on the children.
Silently he is hoping that this alliance isn't a mistake. But then again, no one mentioned how chaotic his life will be in the coming future since he associated himself with Monkey D. Luffy and his crew.

Ace wondered how long it would take for the shitty cook to find his samurai. He had this nagging feeling inside his gut. It was as if Naruto is in danger. Tapping his boots dismissively, he wondered how stiff the ground he is standing at. Beside him, the living skeleton was humming a tune.
After a few minutes of argument between the two, and with a little persuasion on his part, Zoro agreed to leave Sanji alone till he found his charge. Ace sighed and sat crossed legged.
"Are you sure that is wise, Ace-san?" Brook questioned him. Despite his missing eyeballs, Ace could feel a set of eyes from the said pirate peering down at him. "I may be all bones, but I can still feel the cold. And you are almost shirtless despite the cloak you are wearing…" Zoro looked at him interestingly.
"Well," Ace shrugged his shoulders dismissively. "Ever since I ate my Devil Fruit, the Mera Mera no Mi, I can no longer feel the cold… I became fire itself…"
"Oh?" Zoro raised one brow in response. "Is that the reason why there is no falling snow on our current location?"
"Now that you mentioned it…" Brook turned around and looked at their surroundings. Indeed, the area surrounding the Whitebeard commander in a 10-mile radius does not feel that cold anymore. Outside, the winds were calmer and the snow is fluttering quietly. "Yohohoho! Such an exceptional skill you have…"
"Thanks, glad I was able to help," Ace grinned in response. Then again, he heard another squeak as the rock he was sitting at started to move. The snow covering it melted enough to reveal dismembered legs attached to a severed head. "W-what the?!" Behind Ace, Brook screamed frighteningly while Zoro immediately draw his swords.
"Thank you for warming me up, pirate. But it would be best not to sit on my lower body…" Kin'emon said in a muffled tone as his face was still buried towards the snow.
Sanji appeared out of nowhere and attempted to kick the said samurai but failed miserably as it hit the snow melted ground. "You moron! Why did you leave? Are you trying to kill yourself?" Kin'emon happens to dodge the cook's attack which impresses Ace. The two bickered like a married couple which prompted the skeleton to laugh and started to sing a song.
"Uh, guys?" Zoro called their attention and pointed towards the commotion happening at the other side of the lake with a big purple blob came chasing down the weird creatures they fought with earlier that day. "Something weirder is coming this way…"
"!?"
"Looks dangerous…" Brook commented. "Not that I can see it clearly, I have no eyeballs… Skull joke. Yohohoho!"
Having another bad feeling in his gut, Ace overhead Sanji arguing with the samurai about his missing torso. Zoro tried to slice the thing up but it only makes the slime more agitated. As Sanji jumps over the lake to retrieve the other half of the dismantled body, Ace created a wall of fire to protect them from the monster. It shied away a little.
The thing started to threw something at them, which he burns while on airborne. However, he never expected it to explode. Dragging the samurai down as Zoro and Brook take cover, Ace cursed out loud.
"Damn it! What is that thing?"
Zoro sheathed his sword to avoid doing the same mistake. He did a facepalm when he heard Brook freak out as he sliced a piece of glob and gas started to spew from it.
"Are you an idiot? You already watched us try the same thing!"
"My apologies, Zoro-san. I thought you and Ace-san might just have been unlucky. Yohohoho!"
Ace drops his jaws in shock when Zoro suggested to eat these things as they look and made like jelly. Seriously, Luffy's crew seems to share his little brother's eccentricities. Maybe that is the reason why they got along so well. Better to take his favourite kunoichi (not that he knew any other female ninja on these seas) away from them or Naruto might catch a few of his brother and his crew's crazy antics.
Suddenly, the samurai drops on his knees and coughs out blood while repeatedly muttering to himself that it did not hurt. For whatever reason, he seems to be in pain. He rushed towards the fallen warrior when a flash of blinding light envelops his line of vision that earned a startled yelp from the skeleton and a familiar set of eyes appeared right in front of him.
"Uzumaki Naruto at your service!" The blonde chirped happily and brightly upon gazing at his face. His heart warmed out considerably knowing that it was him that she sought first after arriving. He did frown when he saw her bandaged arm. The woman herself hid it inconspicuously after she kissed him lightly on his lips and then proceeded to fret anxiously towards the fallen samurai.
"Waah! What happened to you Samurai-dono? Where's Sanji-kun?"
"He went for a swim to retrieve the samurai's body. Looks like it fell on the lake," Zoro explained after he saw Ace's face. The Whitebeard Commander looks like he was about to explode. Luffy's brother sure is mad. For whatever reason, Naruto seems to be the reason. The green haired swordsman is not sure whether it was because of the blood seeping through the woman's sleeves. Looks like Luffy and the others went into a fight already.
The blonde was about to ask further questions when Sanji rocketed skywards from the lake with his special move adapted from CP9. "Gaah! Sooo fucking cold! Damn it!"
Sanji bristled as he gave the torso to Brook and wrapped his hands over Nami's delicate body. It was a good thing that the Navigator is physically fit enough to accomplish the task he had in mind. And just like the old times, he swirled like a crazy love struck moron seeing Naruto. It does look awkward seeing his twirling moves in Nami's body. Zoro scoffed disgustedly at the perverted cook and averted his eyes away. Instead, he watches Brook assemble the samurai's body. Standing to his full height, the said man is as tall as Brook.
"Naru-chan! I'm so glad to see you again!" With hearts in his eyes, Sanji smiled widely and took Naruto's hand deliberately ignoring Ace's murderous glares. His curled brow knitted worriedly as he glanced at her arms. The female blonde smiled hesitantly and patted his hand. The kunoichi helped him wear his coat.
"We need to hurry. The slime is closing near on us!" Brook exclaimed anxiously as he came closely beside Ace.
"Right!" Naruto nodded and glanced at Ace with a fleeting look on her eyes meaning to explain everything later. In return, the Whitebeard Commander scowled but took her hand and gestured for the others to come close. The blonde kunoichi looks at the purple colored slime crawling near Ace's wall of fire.
"Make sure to hold everyone tight. We're going for a jump!"
"I don't think that's a good idea…" Zoro said ignoring Naruto's flustered gaze.
"What do you mean by that? Naruto's space jump technique will get us back faster…" Ace commented. As he turned, Ace saw Naruto trying to kick the said swordsman from saying anything more. The young woman smiled nervously while she turned to look at him.
"I know that." Zoro sighed when Brook and Sanji started to fuss out as well. The blob is starting to make its move as it spew itself all over the place. "Its that the last time she uses this technique, she fainted… Chopper did advice her not to use anything strenuous. With us tagging along, who knows what will happen?" Ace paled considerably hearing his words.
"I don't think it will matter that much," Naruto commented as she gave Zoro an angry stare. "Ace's blue flames will help me lessen whatever is wrong with me, so no worries." Shrugging her shoulders dismissively, Naruto tugged Ace's hands and held it tight. An assurance of some sorts.
Giving one weary breath, Ace shook his head and looks at her closely.
"Perhaps, you guys need to tell me everything that has happened in Fishman Island," Ace said quietly. "I mean everything…" Letting his special flames do their task, the six disappears in a flash of blue and yellow as a giant slime fall upon their vacated spot extinguishing the swirling blue flames they left behind.

Author's note:
Only a few chapter's left. I think. Or…
Ah yes. Someone mentioned about the first chapter having some mistakes. Thanks for pointing that out, whoever you are. And you can say it in a nice way, no need to be soo rude. You're not my English teacher.
And no, I'm not going back to school just to give you the satisfaction.
My English is fine bordering to barely average but still understandable, thank you very much. I admit that my writing is super basic and not on par with the others… I started writing to improve them all the same. Well, I just wanted to share the ideas running wildly inside my head or imagination. And yes, I am ranting. Sorry about that.
*sigh*
Well then, till next chapter, ja ne!
