Chapter 15 – Annoyance

It was chaotic. Utterly inconceivable even by his very own standards. Portgas D. Ace should have already expected these things from his brother.

But experiencing these things beforehand… He really could not wait to tell Sabo their little brother's whimsical and out of this world adventures. Its like they are being cursed for worrying their grandfather in all those years.

Moving to a more important matter at hand, Ace paced repeatedly in front of the Straw Hat's infirmary. Chopper and that 'Shichibukai' guy took Naruto inside for a check-up. After what happened in Punk Hazard, he could not quench this feeling that something is not right with his beloved kunoichi.

Punk Hazard, hours earlier…

When Ace saw Naruto, he was relieved. But then she her sleeve, or what was left of it.

There are words. But seeing how she avoided his eyes, he decided to ask later. For now, they needed to find Luffy and the others. Looks like his little brother encountered another set of problems. He almost feels sorry for his crew.

Almost. Really.

After arriving a few meters from the building where they felt Luffy's chakra signature, Naruto lets go of Ace and Zoro's hand and rushed towards the farthest rock formation she could find. The meal Sanji prepared earlier decided to force their way out. Naruto could feel his eyes at the back of her head. Wincing slightly, the blonde kunoichi wiped her face on her sleeves and smiled weakly in response to his worried gaze. On the other hand, Zoro caught her eyes when she decided to take a peek and gave her a somewhat knowing stare.

Pouting slightly, Naruto proceeded to calm Sanji down and to avoid from looking directly into Ace's eyes.

Seconds later, at which by some miracle, answered Naruto's silent prayers to avoid further confrontation from her pirate, an explosion was heard from a distance.

Looks like Luffy and the others are having another bunch fun. And they didn't invite her. So rude.

"What did you just said?" Ace's objected at the top of his lungs. Naruto sighed and tried to calm her pirate. Zoro and the others are trying to find a way inside the facility but because of the Marines blocking the front gate, they are having a hard time.

"Nami and Usopp should be somewhere inside the facility. I already marked them both, which will make me easier to use Hiraishin."

"But…"

"Give it a rest, Commander." Zoro interjected tiredly. "She may be a woman, but she is strong."

Perking up as she hears those words, Naruto beamed gratefully at the swordsman. Zoro shrugged his shoulders dismissively.

Rising both hands in fury, Ace growled menacingly in response.

"We are not even supposed to be here, for fucks sake!" Naruto smacks his arms irritatingly.

"Language, you!"

"I'm a goddamn pirate, I can curse whatever I want!" Ace made a face and stomped his foot angrily like a child having a tantrum. Hiding his worry beneath an angry façade is much easier knowing too well how the blonde will react. He doesn't care whether his brother's crew will think of him as immature. His reputation had already been tarnished years ago.

Rolling her eyes in annoyance, Naruto knew that she doesn't have the time to argue with him. She does understand Ace's worries. But damn it, this is really not the time.

Creating five clones, she gave her copies wordless instructions. With a quick kiss from Ace despite his objections and a few hand signs later, she teleported them inside.

With a weary sigh, she tightened her hitai-ate and removed the buttons of her cloak showing her shinobi gears. Her kunai and shuriken are enough. There are a few ninja strings and smoke bombs as well. As always, she can always relay on her ninjutsu and a few moves she learned from Marco and the others.

"Alright! I'm ready, dattebayo!"

In a flash, Naruto disappears and reappeared in the middle of everything, which makes her regret a few things in life, and thinks of what Ace might be telling right from the start. But seeing Luffy's bright and cheerful face, she decided to ponder on her decisions later on.

"No wonder your brother is fuming dangerously mad at something. Seriously Luffy…" The smoke is starting to obscure everything. With a little flick of her wind chakra, Naruto cleared the cage and saw two unknown figures from Luffy's right, the strange guy from earlier with Robin and Franky.

"Ah! Heyya Naruto!" With a wiggle, the straw hat wearing captain greeted her with a wide smile. "It's so good to see you!"

Using Asuma's blades, she cut through the chains to free everyone. Moving last to the two new faces, Naruto thought of destroying the cage and leave that crap but the Shichibukai Law, stopped her.

"What should I do with the two of you…? Let's see…"

Bristling exasperatingly, Naruto placed herself between the said pirate and the marines. "Hey, that's enough! Seriously dude, now is not the time!" With a flick of his fingers, Law returned the Marines to their rightful bodies giving the blonde a challenging look. The Shichibukai proceeded to tell his plans and Naruto huffed leaving the man a glare.

"We need to get everyone inside. This smoke is poisonous."

"Got it! Let's go Robin!" Luffy acknowledges and jumped outside leaving Law dropping his jaw in shock.

"The cage is not make of Kairoseki so Luffy busted it," Franky explained dutifully and took his chains off. "I need to get back to Sunny and prepare as well. See ya later!" Waving farewell, Naruto jumps as well and approaches the marines littering the entrance. Tashigi follows hesitantly.

"And you allied yourself with these guys? I think you are being suicidal, Trafalgar Law," Smoker commented with a grunt and observes the commotion below. With Tashigi's presence, his men decided to work peacefully with the blonde haired stranger.

With a weary sigh, Law secured his sword to follow the others. "At the time, it was a very unexpected idea but now it gave me a few things to think about…" With a smirk, the Captain of the Heart Pirates smiled sinisterly. "With them by my side, I don't think the world stands a chance."

Undeniably correct.

What happens next did change the game they are unwittingly a part of drastically.

And it left Smoker with a weird taste in his mouth that doesn't involve the cigars he constantly breathes in wondering the whys and the how's.

It's been a while since I last updated. So yeah, two updates in one. Thought I posted Chapter 14 but then I was wondering what happened to it when I uploaded Chapter 15. At first, I think it was a numbering mistake so... ugh. Really not a good way to end this year. But the point is, yours truly is still alive and kickin'. Yosh!
