Chapter 6

Visitors

Stefan performed surgery on himself, he was in the army for 4 years. He was trained to treat wounds and injuries in the open. He used a steak knife, a flashlight, napkins, pliers and a bed sheet to numb the leg. It took nearly 5 minutes to remove the bullet which was wedged in the muscle; barely touching the bone. He tossed it across the room while Frank was watching the news which covered the whole incident. Gabe answered his cell phone, it was the same female voice Tikal described.

"You couldn't find a motel six?" She was using her informative voice rather than trying to seduce him.

"Are you GUN?" Stefan felt like he's about to go on a rampage now that he's surrounded.

This got Frank and Gabe's attention. They walked to Stefan after he switched to speaker. "I'm the rodent who owns this resort."

"The Destructix said they know about it."

"They did their research, unlike some fucked up teens who're too lazy to do the same and instead ask questions and never find the answers. Today's youth's has become a downhill spiral in intelligence."

Stefan was on the level. "So much for trying to explain to every mobian."

The voice was coming from the room next to the one Rouge is in. Rouge was listening in every word. She took out her phone and dialled slowly before pressing the send button.

Bunnie Rabbot waited outside the GUN building with Tikal; a car driven by Anthony Benedict pulled over and stopped just near the main entrance. Bunnie had some important news, Anthony didn't get out of the car, he just want to hear what Bunnie was about to tell them. Sally was still shaken on the news of Rosie's death. Bunnie doesn't know anything about.

"Anthony, Nazo. Good thing you came." Bunnie felt relieved, she didn't know who else can handle the problem. "Tikal contacted us claiming that someone wanted something that was taken."

"Does she know who it was?" Nazo wondered.

"All I know is that the voice was sly, seductive and from hearing it...calm." explained Tikal.

"Calm?"

"It didn't sound like she had a grudge."

Commander Tower walked out and approached them. He wanted to give them important news. "Nazo, Anthony, Bunnie; just got word from Topaz. The Cabfolone is not a hotel, it's actually a racket."

Bunnie showed them security footage on her PDA. It showed a female weasel breaking and entering. "We think the caller might be her."

Commander Tower handed them a file which contained the dossier of a female weasel. Before they can see the photos, Commander Tower's phone started ringing.

"Tower," said the commander.

"This is Agent Rouge, I'm in the Cabfolone Hotel."

"What's your status?"

"I found someone who's not one of the Destructix. I think she might be their rival."

Tikal reminded Tower and Nazo of a dead nemesis. "Do the names Nic and Nack enter your mind?"

Abraham Tower and Nazo began seeing Nack the Weasel's dead corpse on the railway tracks with a permanent hole in his forehead. Tower had nightmares coming back to him, while Nazo disliked seeing the image of a dead rodent.

"Nic is Nack the Weasel's girlfriend," Tower confessed.

"No wonder her voice sounded familiar," Rouge realised. "I met her during the search for St. John." She switched to her earphone just before so she can catch the weasel and bring her in.

"Do you know what she's doing?" asked Bunnie.

"Talking to one of the convicts." Rouge didn't enter until the right opportunity arrives. She broke down the door pointing the gun at Nic. She turned around smiling, it was a way of turning Rouge off.

"Nic, we meet at last," said Rouge.

Nic stood there in a tight catsuit. Her usual equipment is attached to her body including a utility belt. Her left hand placed on her hip and her phone in the other hand; just so Stefan, Frank and Gabe can hear them talk. "You're catching on Rouge."

They didn't move a muscle, they stood there like characters on a movie poster of an espionage thriller. They thought they were friends, now they're enemies. They first met while Geoffrey St. John was on the run.

"Do you know that three groups are in this hotel who are using it as a fort?" reminded Rouge.

"I do know and they're interfering my schemes. You see The Destructix don't own this racket, They wanted to take it for themselves. They played me like a toy; but I plan to get their own backs." Playing with her rivals is one of Nic's pet peeves.

"How did you manage to enter without being seen?"

"The sewers, it's always the last place you look."

The three convicts and Commander Tower were listening in on the entire conversation. Unkonwing to either of them, Nic or Rouge, the Babylon Rogues are listening in.

"What is it that you're planning to do with those crates?" Rouge wanted to get back on the subject.

"What you see is the arsenal used by SWAT and Rejoice; including this." She showed her a sphere with dials and buttons. "The Net Sphere. This will alow the user to create a net and tranport the captive or captives to a selected location based on the program inputted on the sphere. Glad to see that St. John was the first to use it."

Rouge came to realise that Geoffrey St. John didn't save the passengers. More likely he captured them before the train crashed. "Whaty happened to the Kreilong passengers?"

"They're safe, according to Geoffrey. For all I know he could be planning a ransom."

"Tell us where they are!"

"You're talking to the wrong person Rouge. Find St. John and he'll know where the passengers are. I have my own task that I should finish."

Rouge heard a noise behind her and fired. The figure disappeared and Nic was about to make her escape. Rouge decided to find her later and chase after the figure. She fired two more shots after exiting. They chased upstairs and reached the fifth floor. Rouge saw the figure with a wolf. She fired and they collapsed in the supply closet. She was exhausted and leaned against to wall to catch her breath. She put her finger near the earphone. "Are you still there?"

"We heard the whole thing," replied Commander Tower. "We'll search for St. John will you find Nic. Anthony and Nazo will try to settle the feud beforehand."

Stafan heard the dial tone, Nic must of hanged up after Rouge fired. Gabe and Frank couldn't believe the truth on what actually happened to those who held hostage during the taking of the subway train, which happened at the same time as the hijacking of the ocean liner and aircraft.

"That explains why those people weren't interviewed," said Gabe.

Frank went to the door and spotted Fiona Fox searching the halls. He closed the door slowly, went to the bathroom and removed the mirror. "We better move, I found a secret passage behind this mirror. We might be able to keep hiding until we come up with of escaping."
