Chapter 10

Chain of Events

The Babylon Rogues couldn't bear on what's going on. They never thought of being caught between a rock and a hard place. The felt a huge shake, everything inside fell off the shelves. Storm found a light switch. They were in a security room. Multiple cameras were placed all over the building. They're hidden from the naked eye.

There were fax machines, computers, phones, a map grid and a work station. It's more than just a racket, it's a command centre. They examined every TV screen. Wave found the missing hostages held by Geoffrey St. John. The Destructix were watching all of Station Square.

Storm accessed one of the computers. He found Intel which he thought was most surprising. "Hey guys! Check what I've found."

He showed them digital video files. He played one of them showing Iris killing Flying Frog after learning that he was imposing as Fiona Fox. Iris tried to rip of the latex. Frog kicked him in the jaw while grabbing his arm. He drew a knife and aimed for Iris' face. The knife jabbed in the controls. Iris bit Frog's ear, squirting blood like a squashed ketchup packet. Iris took a fire extinguisher bludgeoning Flying Frog's head. The amphibian lay on the chair with his eyes open and blood trickling down from his mouth and head. Iris disabled security cameras inside the room.

"Why would that amphibian impersonated Fiona Fox?" Wave doesn't see the logic at all.

"Destructix placed hidden cameras in every part of Mobius. They must have created their own surveillance," Jet theorized.

"And that guy disabled the cameras in the room; Flying Frog was in, how come?" Storm asked in curiosity.

"He didn't want to risk getting caught leaving the train. He must have learned how to use stealth in that situation," Jet answered.

Wave spotted a camera inside a warehouse, showing hostages that St. John held captive. They were surrounded by armed mobians. Each of them were kept in an area surrounded by laser which will fire, if any of them try to escape.

Storm accessed more files. He called over Jet and Wave to see what he found. "Remember that drug bust months prior? The drug ringers were in connection with Rejoice."

He showed them mug shots of the personnel involved. Those include who were arrested and deceased. As the continued searching, Rejoice were funded by not only drug smuggling and drug dealing, they were selling stolen goods including artefacts and numerous priceless works of art.

"It's most likely Rejoice suffered from financial troubles. So they made deals with terrorists to finance the organisation; with a price," said Wave.

Jet placed their Extreme Gears in an open locker. He used a combination lock. Storm spotted Rejoice helicopters surrounding the building.

Storm found info on Frank. He used a radio and found Rouge's frequency.

Rouge stopped once she heard Storm's voice.

Stefan limped to Rouge, grabbing her arm. He wanted to know why Frank bailed. "Why did you kill Frank before he could escape?"

Rouge swung her arm off Stefan's grasp. "He's working for McOulen. He used your ID to cover his real name."

"And how do you know?"

Rouge had to make a statement that will make him listen to her. "I work for GUN. If you want to live, you must listen to my words."

Stefan couldn't think of other options. He was reminded by Bernard about Rouge and GUN when he was given the assignment.

Scarlett Garcia gave a news report on what just happened. "What just happened appears that a helicopter crash landed near the Cabfolone. It also crushed one of the former convicts, going by the name: Frank Baine. He's a member of Rejoice whom some officials believe he was sent to neutralize GUN."

Sally rushed to the body bag. She opened it with force, recognising the person's face.

"That's the guy who gave me demands," she said.

"You know him?" Topaz asked.

"He was giving me tasks to send weapons to this place."

She said that if she doesn't fulfil the demands Rosie will die. Sally did make a single screw up. She was supposed to leave a bag full of ammo near some lockers. Just then Mina Mongoose's father Arthur, picked up the bag. He met Mina coming by. She claimed that she knew everything he committed in the past. He told her he did those acts for cash. Just as he was about to leave, Mina grabbed one of the guns and shot him in the head.

"I don't know how she found out, Rouge said she'll be upset if she knew."

"Some people have different ways of reacting to the truth," said Nazo.

Two Rejoice helicopters flew towards the hotel. Shadow can see that they're armed with missiles. He could let them destroy the building. He knew the Babylon Rogues were involved and all the evidence against Rejoice will be piles of ash.

He raced down the basement. He prevy overheard Rouge's communication about the where the weapons were stored. He searched through different boxes and found explosives; mostly liquid, plastic, C4 blocks and detonators.

He can see the helicopters flying towards the floor where the Babylon Rogues are. Shadow had to find a place where he can kill two birds with one stone. He had to find an area which will hold all the explosives in one place and be powerful enough to destroy the helicopters.

He went to the designated floor at top speed. He found a janitor's closet. It's a risky move, but Shadow has no other solution.

He placed the explosives around the enclosed space. He placed some of them at the end of each hall, just to be sure if Rejoice soldiers were coming.

One of the helicopters land near the entrance letting off the soldiers. They split into two; one for covering the floors and the other took the lift. The group that took the lift split in two different directions.

The helicopter re-joined the other helicopter. The pilot is about to fire at the Babylon Rogues.

Shadow spotted the soldiers coming, which is his cue. "Chaos Spear!"

He threw a spear and pressed the button on the remote for the detonators. The spear struck one of the containers of flammable liquid. Two explosion occurred on Shadow's left and right. Killing the soldiers.

A giant fire ball consumes the helicopter, causing it to crash into the other. The combined wreck plummeted near the hotel's east side. News reporters ran before the giant wreck crushed a news van. One of the cameramen recorded the whole footage.

Topaz tried to contact Shadow. "What happened?"

"Just a taste of what kind of arsenal Destructix are storing," panted Shadow.

"Rejoice just send more soldiers. It's making the situation more difficult." Topaz contacted Anthony and Nazo telling them what she told Shadow.
