Title: A Bad Day
Summary: Hermione's having a bad day. As a matter of fact, so is Draco.
"Well I'm not surprised she dropped out of one of her classes," Hermione overheard him saying to his friends before class. "The bint always did think too much of herself."
Between the lecture from McGonagall, the nasty looks from Lavender and Pavarti, and the ribbing from her best friends, Hermione had had enough. Hair flying, she stomped right over to Malfoy. He looked down in surprise to find a small finger angrily poking his shoulder and a very flushed Hermione Granger.
"For a person who could only be bothered with taking five classes this year, you sure do spend a lot of time talking about other people's schedules," she snapped. "Instead of being such a pretentious pillock, why don't you make an effort to be on time for the class you're actually good at?"
There was a good few seconds of silence after she abruptly left.
"What's her problem?" Draco finally managed, staring after her as she stalked towards the dungeons. He did not understand why she would go on a limb to defend a Slytherin 3rd year, a girl who Draco knew for a fact had always treated the Gryffindor with disdain.
One of his friends shrugged. "I hear she dropped out of divination yesterday. Told Trelawney to go suck eggs and stormed out in the middle of class. Pretty brilliant, ever for a muggle." A few of the boys laughed.
Draco, incredulous, looked back in the direction Hermione had gone. His lips dragged into a frown.
"Going to class," he muttered and left. His day would start off pretty badly if Draco couldn't think of one thing to mock Granger about by the time he got to potions.
Bloody wench.
