also known for having one of the highest crime rates in the world. Which was quite strange because local law enforcement happened to be the men and women that served at Marine HQ which was based in Grand Line City.
Within Grand Line City lived many very influential families. For instance, the Donquixote family, The Newgate Family, The Monkey Family, and the Charlotte Families. Each of these families holding different power oddity to their respective names. Some members of these were more well known than others.
Take Monkey D. Luffy for example. The 19 year old is known for causing chaos and confusion wherever she goes, much to the chagrin of her family and friends. The young girl was one who never backed down from a challenge and was always ready for food. Her older brothers were much the same.
(I would go on but you didn't come here for intoductions so onto the story!!)
Luffy was bored. She had been sitting at this café for five whole minutes and her friends still weren't there. She didn't know if she could take it any longer. To further express her boredom she blew out a long deep sigh to show others just how she felt.
Just as she sat up from the slouched position she held in her seat she saw a flash of green hair and heard angry yelling. The sight before her made her eyes light up in happiness.
"You shitty grass stain! How the hell did you get lost walking down two blocks?!"
"What the hell did you just call me you stupid pervert?!"
"You Know da-"
Luffy jumped from her seat and called to the arguing duo in front of her.
"Zoro! Sanji!" Luffy exclaimed.
Both heads swiveled in her direction and both of their faces melted from anger into calm smirks at the sight of their friend. Argument now forgotten, the pair made their way over to Luffy from where they stood further down the sidewalk and greeted her.
"Hey Lu." greeted Zoro calmly.
"Hello Beautiful." said Sanji with a hint of flirtation in his tone.
" Hey guys, what took you guys sooo long. I was bored and kind of lonely, but you guys are now so I'm fine. Now we just have to wait for the others to get here, then we start our hangout." Luffy said with a large beaming smile.
Before either man could respond they spotted a familiar group of people walking closer to them from the distance. Sanji called out to them. "You guys sure are slow today. Even me and Zoro got her e before you six."
"Shut up Sanji," Nami huffed in annoyance, " we would've been here earlier if Brook and Franky weren't off harassing some girls the perverts."
"Hey now Nami, I wouldn't call it harassment. I would say it was just asking slightly inappropriate questions. There's no harm in doing that." Franky explained to her calmly.
Just as Nami was about to retort, Luffy interrupted impatiently, "You guys, can we go inside already? I'm so hungry!" As to prove her point, the girl's stomach chose just that second to growl.
"Fine, but Franky this isn't over. Just know we will be talking later," the redhead stated with a scary gleam in her eye. All the blue haired man could do was gulp.
Together the nine friends found a table together, and began to talk about the exciting news that arriving in their city. They couldn't believe that the renowned Dr. Vegapunk had discovered a whole other dimension, with alternate versions of themselves.
"It sounds suspicious to me. Why would they announce it to the world that they made something like this. Most of the time the government wouldn't want anything this crazy out in public, and why would they bring it to this psycho town anyways." Zoro stated while yawning.
"We also don't anything about this other dimension" Ussop pointed out.
"Well I think it'll be fun. This is a once in lifetime opportunity that the world government choose our town to be the first ones to test it" exclaimed Chopper.
"I think it will be quite interesting to see the differences between our world and theirs. Just imagine." Robin calmly said.
"Its going to be awesome, I don't see why you guys are so worried. Its just going to be us, I doubt we'll be any different. Heck, I bet we're even friends in this other dimension also." Franky thundered.
Luffy just giggled along to what she was hearing and said," Franky is right. I bet there is nothing to worry about and you're all freaking out over nothing. Even my grandpa hasn't said anything and he works high up in the marines."
" Luffy's surprisingly right for once, I doubt the World Government will put civilians in danger. It cause outcry from across the globe. We just have to trust the ones in charge and see what happens." Nami commented.
With a mutter of agreement from the whole group they continued on with their hangout until it was time for them to leave. Each attendee agreed to meet a specific area of the city docks where the launch of Dr. Vegapunk's device was supposed to be launched the following morning, and bid each other a goodnight.
Luffy walked home at slow speed. She may have made it seem that she wasn't worried about their alternates to her friends, but inside she was anxious. She, like the rest of the city didn't know what to expect. What if they were dangerous? Or weird and creepy? She let out a long drawn out sigh as she spotted the house she shared with her two older brothers Ace and Sabo.
Luffy suddenly stopped on the sidewalk.
What if her alternate didn't know who Ace and Sabo were. It could very well happen as they were adopted into her family bye her grandpa many years ago. Just that thought had brought tears to her eyes. Wiping her eyes, she continued to her home and up to the porch. Before she could even pull her set of key out of her pocket, the front door was wrenched open.
Standing in the entryway was Ace. Ace covered head to toe in soot, meaning Ace had set something on fire. Again. Fire wasn't anything new in the ASL house. Ace was what one would call a pyromaniac. Most of the Ace's fires were accidental, then there were moments where Ace could be charged with arson. But no one likes to mention those instances.
Smiling at Ace, Luffy engulfed him in a hug, succeeding in covering her in soot, and asked what he had torched this time. Before Ace could deny that he had done anything, a voice spoke out behind him.
"He just turned a stove burner too high, Lu. It was nothing big this time." Sabo said as he descended from the stairs.
"It was not too high, that was the heat it was supposed to be at!!"
"Yeah, the heat its supposed to be at when there's not a whole bottle of oil in the pan. It looked like you were trying to burn the house down." The blond man calmly stated as he walked over to greet Luffy with a hug.
"While Ace is here trying to think of a good comeback, I am going to get ready for our crazy day tomorrow. Goodnight." With that dismissal Sabo disappeared into his room into the back of the house.
Luffy looked over at Ace who still hadn't moved and shrugged. She decided to follow Sabo's lead and head to bed early. But on the way to her room, Luffy couldn't help but feel as though she wouldn't be getting very much sleep that night. But she tried anyways.
