Love Struck

As you know by now, I don't own anything from the HP verse

Chapter 4: Boys are weird

Rose POV

I am going to curse Molly Miriam Weasley.

Yesterday molly cornered me after lunch and asked me to do her a favor. She wanted me to go out on her boyfriend's younger brother. I was skeptical at first. Why couldn't Lucy do it? She said Lucy had to apparate home on the weekend and then she gave me her puppy dog face. I agreed but only after making sure she'd give me buy me a box of chocolate caramel bars from Honeydukes.

I thought I would never meet anyone loonier that Luna Scamander, and then I met Ben Cassells. Molly owes me a king size bar, better yet a deluxe box.

Ben seemed like a nice guy at first glance. He had curly brown hair that hangs into his face, he's about average height, and he doesn't have that douchebag aura.

Molly introduced us and then disappeared with her boyfriend Sam. We stood there awkwardly for a moment but then we decided to walk around. Sam walked wildly with his arms swinging at his sides. I thought it was odd, but I didn't say anything. Instead I placed my hands in my pocket.

When he asked me questions I felt like I was taking one of those test where you have to say the first thing that pops into your mind. Maybe that was my fault. I was nervous, this is my first actual date. So I decided to flip the table by asking him questions. He sung every answer. It was a little weird so I stopped asking question.

We ended up going to Madam Puddifoot's. The place looked like it was designed by a lovesick five year old. It was so…pink. Plus it smelled like sugar. I swear I got a cavity just by walking through the door.

We sat down in a corner table. I glanced around the place and noticed that nearly every other couple was snogging. It wasn't even noon yet, in broad public and people were seriously snogging. The old lady who owned the shop was smiling hugely as if she got off on watching teenagers swap spit.

I looked away from the other couples as Madam Puddifoot came to take our orders. Without taking his eyes off me, Ben ordered the weirdest tea for the both of us.

I was offended; I can order for myself, thank you very much. I didn't say anything because I was waiting for him to stop looking at me. After a full on minute it was getting beyond creepy.

"What?"

"Shh. I'm counting the freckles on your nose" he said.

"What?" I covered my nose automatically.

"Don't do that. Now I'll have to start all over."

"Can you not count my freckles?" I asked.

This is the point of the date where I decided I was going to curse Molly. She had to know her boyfriend's brother is a weirdo.

Madam Puddifoot delivered the tea.

I took one sip and spit it out.

"What's wrong snookums? Is it too hot? Shall I blow on it for you?" Ben asked loudly causing people to stare.

"No" I replied.

He ignored me "is your tongue burnt, shall I kiss it for you"

"I just remembered I promised to meet my cousin Lily. So sorry, I have to go" I said quickly and I dashed out of there as quickly as possible.

I went to The Three Broomsticks.

I stopped the barmaid as she was heading back behind the bar, "Hey have you seen my cousin Lily or any of my female cousins?"

"Sorry doll, last Weasley I saw left a half an hour ago" the barmaid said.

"Thank you."

I was ready to head back to school. I don't know why I even agreed to go out on the date in the first place. I will never ever go onto a blind date again.

All of a sudden it began to rain. I was soaking wet in seconds. "Could this day get any worse?!" I shouted to the sky.

I pulled out my wand ready to transfigure a rock or something into an umbrella.

"That depends" a voice answered.

I turned around to see a black haired kid walking towards me. I recognized him as Dante Zanibi, Al's friend.

"What?"

"Well the day could get worse, it depends. A dog could throw up on your shoes, there can be an earthquake that causes the ground to split and you'll drop in, your hair could spontaneously begin to fall out of your hair, you."

"Okay I get your point" I interrupted him.

"Oh, good" he smirked at me.

Why are boys so weird? First Ben now this nut?

"So my day isn't completely bad" I replied.

"Now that you've met me you mean"

I felt the strangest need to blush.

"I'll walk you back to Hogwarts, to save you from supernatural disasters."

"Oh, what makes you think I can't save myself?" I asked.

"Girls always complain that guys aren't chivalrous, but when we try to do something nice they say 'I can do it myself'."

He was teasing me, I knew it, but I couldn't help the smile on my face.

"Okay, you can walk me back to Hogwarts, but drop the weird act. I've had enough crazy for one day."
