The pebble pinged against the glass once to no avail. Seto picked up another one and hurled it at the third story window. He waited a moment before searching for yet another pebble. They were hard to come by on the sidewalk. As he stooped to pick up one final rock, he heard a voice call his name.

"Kaiba?" Yugi asked rubbing sleep feom his eyes.

"Yugi, I thought this was Umi's room."

"She's on the other side, facing the alley."

"Oh. thanks." Seto started to walk off.

"Kaiba? It's 2am."

Seto shrugged.

"I couldn't sleep." He explained before he scurried around the building.

He picked up a handful of rocks and began tossing them at the small window. After a couple of throws a dim light switched on filtered through the thin curtain covering the window. He tossed one more pebble before the window opened. His lover's face gleaned in the dim light. She rubbed sleep from her eyes echoing her twins movements.

"Umi." He whispered excitedly.

She took a moment to focus on him before a tired smile spread on her face.

"What are you doing here?" She leaned out of the window.

"Want to go for a walk?"

She knit her brows together and ducked her head back in the window.

"Seto, it's two am." She said poking her head back out.

"So?"

"It's also a school night." She pointed out.

"And? I have work tomorrow too."

"Yeah, but you don't sleep."

"Come walk with me? Please?"

She hung her head as she sighed and contemplated for a moment.

"Meet me around front. I'll be there in a minute." She closed the window and he ambled around the building once more, grinning.

She pushed the glass door opened slowly so as to not make the chime sound a few minutes later. As she stepped out into the chilly early spring night air, she pulled her jacket around her tightly before crossing her arms against the cold.

"Where are we going?" She looked up into his brilliant blue eyes which were now shadowed in the darkness of early morning. The yellow light of a streetlamp shone in a ring around them. Seto grabbed her tightly in his arms and hugged her, lifting her up so that their eyes were level.

"Whoa!" She threw her arms around his neck as she went airborne. "Hey, you."

"I missed you." He nuzzled her neck.

"You just saw me a few hours ago." She countered as she ran her fingers through his hair. "You need a haircut." She noted. He grunted in response before putting her back down.

"I'll get to it eventually." He squeezed her against him once more before letting go.

"Ok, did you miss me or did you 'miss me'?" She asked as he was far more affectionate that was typical.

"What? No. I just wanted to talk." He tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear as he frowned at her insinuation.

"At two in the morning."

"It's two thirty now."

"Seto, I love you, but I have a test tomorrow."

"In what?"

"Calculus."

"Pfft. Child's play."

"For you maybe."

"That's your insecurity talking, Umi. I know that you love math."

"Love and are good at are two different things, Seto."

He looked at her like she was crazy.

"And you happen to also be good at it."

"Fine, where do you want to go? She asked, sighing in resignation.

Seto shrugged.

"Does it matter?"

Umi looked off to the sky that was dappled with stars for a moment.

"Let's go to the park." She suggested. "I want to swing."

"Sure." He hefted a small bag that lay at his feet and slung it over his shoulder before taking her hand. "Um, which way?"

Umi pointed across the street

"So, um, how did you get here?" She looked around behind them as they crossed the empty street. The limo which usually shuttled him around was no where to be seen.

"I walked."

"You what?"

"Walked."

"Seto?" She stopped as they reached the sidewalk on the other side and pulled his face closer to hers. She placed her hand on his forehead. "Well you aren't running fever."

"No. I feel fine."

"Well you're acting strange."

"I might have been a little drunk."

"Oh. I thought you had given that up."

"I have. For the most part. I couldn't sleep, so..." He trailed off.

"And when did you decide to come over?"

"After the second one."

"I see."

"I'm not drunk now."

"I see."

"I'm not. I think the walk took it out of me."

He untangled their fingers and wrapped his arm over her shoulder. He leaned his head close to hers and kissed the top of her head.

"You smell good."

"And you are being awfully affectionate."

She could feel his smile in how he leaned against her and how his arm tightened on her shoulders.

"That's because i love you."

He steered her into the playground and toward the swings.

"I love you too."

She sat on the dark rubber surface and motioned for him to join her. He took up station behind her, grabbed the chains that connected the seat to the bar making a pendulum. He took a few steps back pulling them with him and raising her in the air. He pulled the swing back until she could lay her head against his chest.

"I don't really like the swings."

She shrieked as he let her go.

"Why?" She asked on the back swing, breathless and giggling. He pushed her away once more, sending her soaring with a strong shove.

"They were always too low for me." She swung away once more through the dark night.

"My feet always drag the ground." He pushed her again and again until her giggles grew worried as she soared higher and higher.

"Too high!" She cried as he tugged on the seat slightly in an effort to slow her down.

He laughed. Not a chuckle or his usual single grunt laugh, but a full throated full bodies belly laugh. With each pass of the swing he slowed it further until he could stop it with one hand.

She used her feet to twist it around and around until she could look up at him. She gasped as she caught sight of his broad smile and laughing eyes. She returned his smile feeling am overwhelming sense of joy at seeing a side of him few have ever seen. He was always sweet to her, even when they were in public, despite being more reserved and often arrogant around others. But what she saw now was different.

"When's the last time you've laughed like that?"

"I, I dont remember." His face fell as the mask he typically wore slipped into place. "A long time."

She let the swing untwist and then she stood on the seat so she was closer to his height. She held tightly onto one of the chains as she let go with her other hand and brushed his cheek.

"You're so cute when you're happy."

The small smile that graced his lips on a typical day with her made an appearance but his unrestrained grin was now gone.

"You really needed this, didn't you."

He nodded before he slid his hands around her waist and pulled her from the swing.

"Yeah. I did." He kissed her deeply once she was on her feet. "Wanna go look at the stars?"

Umi smiled.

"Always."

He took her hand and pulled her away from the swings. He led her through the park until he found an open green space. He looked around at the sky and nodded to himself before pulling the backpack from his shoulder and retrieving a blanket out of it.

Umi raised her eyebrows, impressed at his effort. She watched as he diligently spread out the blanket. He looked thoughtfully over his handiwork and Umi wondered if he was always so meticulous. She had heard stories of the detail Seto had planned and put into his trap of Yugi before Atem's power had broken him. She had marveled at his precision then as much as she did now, realizing how little the core of his being must have changed, even as the darkness had been stripped away. Satisfied with everything, he gestured for her to take a spot on the blanket. Umi laid back on the thin material and turned her gaze skyward. She half expected him to block her view, demanding her attention.

She was pleasently surprised when she felt him lay next to her.

She glanced over at him and watched as he crossed his arms behind his head to form a makeshift pillow. She blushed as her gaze traveled the long length of his body as it stretched next to her. She rolled her eyes as she realized that she had been her own attention's downfall before she turned her gaze once more to the sky.

They lay in silence watching the stars shift slowly across the sky, a glittery backdrop to faster moving satellites, airplanes and helicopters that traveled overhead.

"My father always said I could go there one day." Seto broke the silence. Umi turned her attention once more to him, waiting for him to continue. "I think I'm going to."

"What?"

"Go to space. I'd like to see what it's like. I'd like to see what I can do with it." he turned onto his side and propped himself up on his elbow so he could look at her.

She moved in order to do the same.

"And what do you think you can do in space? Aside from sail around the earth or travel from planet to planet?"

"I don't know." He turned his head back up to the stars. "It's been a long time since I've thought about it. Gozaburo discouraged any kind of dreams that he could not see a profit in." He chuckled slightly. "It's funny. As much as he tried, Gozaburo could not completely purge the memories of my father-my real father."

"What was he like?"

"I don't remember much, just a few snipets of phrases, an intonation here, the tilt of a head there. Not enough to build a solid memory anyway." He turned back to her and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"What about you?" he asked.

"What about me?"

"What was your father like?"

"Oh, um, I was four when he died, so I don't remember much at all. I do remember feeling warm with him, probably from him holding me, calling me my name. But I don't remember."

"I would have liked to meet him."

"I think he would have liked you." Umi added.

Seto smiled before turning his eyes back to the stars.

"I know my dad would have liked you."

Umi laid back down to watch the sky. A stray meteor streaked across the inky blackness.

"In Egypt, the sky was always so full of stars. You can see so many more there, in the solitude of the desert. They fill the sky."

"Now you're making me wish we had stayed longer."

She chuckled as his hand reached out for hers and interlaced the fingers.

"Nights at the beach house are pretty dark, but there's still a fair amount of light pollution from the town nearby. I can't imagine the sky in the middle of the desert."

"Maybe one day we'll go back." She curled toward him again and watched his profile in the shadowy light. She found herself inching closer until her head was nestled against his shoulder and his arm wrapped around her back. She yawned as her knee slipped over his thigh. His steady, easy breathing and the gentle strokes of his fingers along her spine-coupled with the late night finishing homework, lulled her to sleep. She shifted against his side, slipping even closer, though Seto had been uncertain that such a feat was possible.

Her body next to him warmed the slight chill in the night's air. He twisted himself ever so slightly, drawing her further into his embrace. He kissed the top of her head as his body relaxed and drew him into slumber with her.

The light was not what woke Umi, nor was it the sound of people starting to populate the park. What woke Umi was the slimy feel of a dog licking her face. Umi sat up in shock and wiped the spittle left by the small beast from her cheek. Seto stirred grogily next to her but did not arise. A young well-to-do woman trotted toward Umi frantically calling the animal. The dog just looked up at Umi as if she were made of treats.

"I am so sorry." the woman knelt down carefully in her tight skirt. "He didn't bother you, did he?" She snapped the leash back to the ring on the dog's collar.

"No, it's alright. He gave me some kisses, though."

"Oh I'm sorry. He's still young and I haven't had time to train him fully."

"It's fine." Umi reassured her as Seto finally sat up.

"Again, my apologies." The woman bowed slightly before she commanded the dog to follow her.

Seto rubbed his eyes but he could not shake the heaviness in his eyelids or the yawn that erupted from his mouth. Umi smiled as she looked at how his hair was sticking up in the back.

"Hello Beautiful." She said, kissing him on the cheek. His voice was throaty and cracked as he replied.

"I think that's my line." He captured her lips in a quick kiss.

"Not a morning person, huh?" her eyes sparkled in the early morning sun.

"Not a sleep person." He rubbed his eyes once more before running his hands through his hair. Umi yawned and stretched before she turned her attention to the dawning of the new day and the blossoming of activity at the park. A warning tingled through her as she noticed the number of people enjoying the day already. She scrambled for her phone and looked at the time.

"Shit." she stood up and straightened her clothes.

"What?" Seto stood with her, still groggy from sleep.

"I'm going to be late for school. I can't miss my calculus test." She pulled his face to her and kissed his cheek. "See you later?" She waited just long enough for him to nod before she sprinted across the green space, through the playground and across the street.

Umi sighed in relief when she opened the door to the shop and saw Ms. Takanada manning the counter. The old woman shot her a disapproving look, but said nothing as Umi darted through the store and up the stairs. She tossed her clothes into the hamper and glanced at the clock. She would not have time for a shower. She pulled on the uniform quickly and spritzed herself with a spray in an attempt to hide her lack of cleanliness. She was back down the stairs in record time, having only given her hair and teeth only a cursory brushing.

"See you later!" she called to Ms. Takanada. A quick glance at the older woman as she passed through the door told Umi that she was going to have some explaining to do later that day. Umi wanted to sigh, but her lungs were occupied as she rushed down the street and along the weaving path which led to the school. She had never been this late to school, not without good reason. At least, not since she had made her home in Japan with her brother and Seto. After her mother had died, there had been plenty of days where she had been late. Some days she had a good reason. The other days were not by her choice.

She was sprinting towards the downward slope that led to the school gates when she saw Joey approaching from the other side on a bicycle.

"Umi? Need a ride?" He called once he noticed her. She was grateful as he stopped and motioned for her to grab on to the back of the bike.

"Thanks." she muttered as he propelled them down the steep hill. She felt a shriek wanting to erupt but her lungs burned too much to breath, much less to scream.

The bicycle slid through the gate just before the gym teacher pushed it shut. They had both made it with seconds, and inches to spare. Umi hopped off the back of the bike as Joey brought it to a halt.

"Thanks again!" She waved at him before darting into the building.

The test had been grueling and Umi was exhausted by the time she joined her brother and his friends for lunch. Yugi looked at her funny as she sat down next to him.

"What?" she asked defensively. He pressed his lips into a thin line before reaching over and picking a piece of grass from her disheveled hair.

"I didn't think a calculus test could get bits of grass in your hair." He handed her the narrow blade. Umi felt her face flush red and she stammered for a response. She pulled the elastic band from her hair and tried to smooth it into a semblance of normality.

"Shush. I'm tired is all."

Yugi laughed.

"I bet you are." He waggled his eyebrows at her before wincing in pain as she rebuffed him mentally. "So what was Kaiba doing throwing rocks at my window at two in the morning?"

"He just wanted to talk."

"Talk? Yeah, right." Joey muttered. Umi shot him a look that would have skewered him if she had been similarly bonded to him as she was with her brother. As it was, Yugi still flinched from the waves of anger emanating from his sister.

"Yes, talk. We fell asleep looking at the stars, or I did. I guess he did eventually. I don't know. But I didn't get much sleep after finishing that literature assignment. Ugh, I wish I could check out sick."

"Did you forget lunch?" Tea asked. Umi nodded.

"And I don't have any money to buy one." Umi complained as Tea motioned her over to share.

"Don't let Joey get to you. He's just jealous."

"He needs to learn to keep his thoughts in his head." Umi stabbed at a piece of octopus with a spare pair of chopsticks that Tea had given her.

"You know he can't do that. He's not that bright." Tea whispered.

"Are you two talking about me?" The subject of their discussion leaned toward them. Umi glanced at her brother, who was rolling his eyes. Tea and Umi both looked directly at Joey, their eyes all innocent.

"No." They said simultaneously. He watched them with suspicion for a moment before turning back to his own lunch. Tea resumed the conversation once Joey's attention was firmly on something else.

"He doesn't understand how someone like you could fall for Kaiba. All he has ever seen of Kaiba was his disdain. Joey thinks you're too good for him."

Umi looked at the blond with a touch of understanding.

"He doesn't know Seto like I do. Frankly, none of you do."

"That's what I try to tell him. But he doesn't listen. He can't imagine Kaiba being anything other than what he knows."

"Seto is the sweetest, most caring, most awkward man I've ever met. He's also the most private." She looked down at her feet before looking back up at Tea. "I wish you could all see him as I do. I know he's not the best people person, and he's completely cut-throat when it comes to business, regardless of how well he can move a crowd and his all-around charisma. But he really is very kind, deep down."

"I'm sure that he's a much nicer guy once you get to know him. I wish he would let us get to know him. Because, typically, it's hard to tell if there is anything more beneath the exterior he shows." Tea picked up a morsel and popped it into her mouth. "In the end though, what Yugi says is all that matters."

"What do you mean what Yugi says?"

"He says that Kaiba makes you happy." Tea placed a hand on Umi's shoulder in reassurance. "And if that is good enough for Yugi, then it's good enough for me."

Umi smiled at the young woman who had gone from friend to enemy and back to friend over their short lives. She placed a hand on the delicate appendage resting on her shoulder.

"Thanks, Tea."

"Of course." Tea grabbed another bite and popped it into her mouth.

"Now, what are you going to do about my brother?" Umi asked, which made Tea choke slightly.

"What do you mean?" She asked, mid-chew.

"I mean, I've got a friend in America who is desperate for me to set them up together."

"What?" Tea coughed.

"Tea? Are you alright?" Yugi asked at the sound, his round eyes seeming both innocent and wise. Tea waved him off with a smile before turning back to Umi in a conspiratorial whisper.

"What do you mean set them up?"

"She wants to go out with him. Actually, I don't know if she wants to be his girlfriend or anything, but knowing Yugi, he'd take it as such."

"Umi?" Tea said anxiously.

"Am I rambling?" Umi asked, to which Tea nodded. "Oh, sorry. But anyway, my friend thinks he's cute. She's even kissed him and I'm sure she would have done more if time had allowed."

Tea turned crimson at the insinuation and she hazarded a glance at the short young man. Yugi had always been a good friend, but since he had completed the puzzle, she had found herself drawn to him-no, not Yugi, to the other him, the spirit of the puzzle, Atem. He had seemed so much more mature, more confident when the spirit had taken over. He had kissed her one day, and she was not certain if it was Atem or Yugi who had done so. The kiss had made her head swim and her knees go weak, and in that moment, she wanted him, whoever he was. Since that day, they had never broached the subject of them being a couple. They seemed to both have decided to let things happen if and when they were supposed to.

Tea glanced at him once more and watched him chatting and laughing with the guys. She turned back to Umi and chewed on her nail.

"I'm not sure what I want to do." Tea admitted at last.

"You should probably figure that out soon. Maybe, you know, before you find out about the scholarship to study in America?"

"Right." Tea conceded. The pair finished their lunch in silence before returning to class for the remainder of the day.

Umi found it difficult to pay attention during her afternoon classes. Even though she was in class with Yugi and his friends during the afternoon, she found the material dreadful and dull. More than once, she found herself drifting off to sleep during the lecture. She tried to tell herself that it was the lack of sleep, but she had little love for history, at least as it was being taught-lifelessly from a text. She gave Yugi a grateful glance as his voice seemed to echo through her mind, rousing her for the third time. She doodled on the edge of her notebook as the teacher droned on, sketching claws and lift systems and writing out equations for gear ratios. The mid-April afternoon teased her as she glanced out the window and thought of her friends back in America.

She realized that they would soon be preparing for graduation, and she should have been with them. She wondered if her robotics team had advanced to the world championships, confident that the event was happening soon. She hazarded a glance at her phone, curious about the time back home, and guilty that she still thought of California as home, despite everything she had found in Domino City. She glanced at the ring that encircled her finger and ran her thumb over the cool metal. She could not help the smile that blossomed on her lips as she touched the diamond encrusted band. She was technically not allowed to wear such things at school, but she did anyway. Seto had asked that she not take it off, and she had promised that she would not, except for showers and baths. She had hoped that she would not have to fight anyone to keep her promise, but she was willing if the need arose. She had been called out for it only once, but when the principal had learned who her fiancee was, he simply said 'oh,' and walked off. She never heard a word about the ring again.

Umi heard her name being called from what seemed like a long distance.

"I'm sorry, what?" she answered as politely as she could. Sometimes she forgot to maintain the level of politeness needed in common every day actions here. Sometimes, she didn't care. And sometimes, like today, English slipped out instead. A ripple of polite laughter passed through the room and when Umi looked up at the teacher's face, he was red with anger. Umi took a deep breath and closed her eyes to try again.

"I apologize for my inattentiveness. May you repeat yourself?" She asked in the most formal way she could think of. Still, she was unable to fully calm the ire of the teacher, who sent her outside.

"I never got in trouble in America." she muttered as the door slid closed behind her. She kicked the toe of her indoor shoes against the floor. She looked up and down the hallway. She could hear the lesson having been resumed behind her. She tugged at the jacket and pulled the skirt down, feeling both constrained and exposed in the uniform. She sank to the floor as unbidden memories washed over her of unwanted, unknown hands pressing against her, pulling at the similar uniform she had worn for their excitement. She tried to push the thoughts away, to replace them with things that made her happy, but she could not stem the tide.

Yugi kept looking at the door. His attention also wavered from the lesson at hand as he could sense the panic rising within his twin. He own heart beat quickened and his hands began to shake. His ears were filled with the roar of her despair.

"Yugi? Are you alright?"

He jumped at the question before turning to Tea. He released a shaky breath as he remembered that breathing was important. He closed his eyes, releasing the tears that had been building there, and he tried to calm the storm that was his sister's memories. But he could not break through.

He raised his hand.

"Yes, Mr. Muto?" The teacher asked with obvious annoyance in his voice. "And if you are about to ask to leave, the answer is no."

Yugi slowly lowered his hand. As the teacher turned back to the lesson, Yugi rested his chin on his palms and covered his eyes with his fingers. He tried to block out all stimuli and focus his full attention on his sister suffering in the hallway. He tried to go to her, to send his spirit to comfort her. He knew it was possible; she had done it on more than one occasion. But he had only been successful once, and that had been with Atem's help. Still, he tried. She was only a few meters away this time, not an entire ocean. He felt his breathing slow as he focused and then he stepped out of his body. He looked asleep from the outside. Tea kept glancing at him in concern.

He walked out of the room, straight through the door.

Umi was curled up in a ball on the floor. Her eyes were wide and unblinking with fear and she emanated self-loathing.

"Umi." he crouched next to her. "I'm here." He touched her forehead and her eyes closed. When she opened them once more, she looked up at the ghostly image of her brother. "They can't hurt you anymore."

And he was suddenly back in his body. As he overcame his disorientation, he realized the teacher was standing directly in front of him. Yugi looked up slowly and apologized as he too met the instructor's wrath.

Yugi and Umi sat, waiting for discipline in silence.

"Are you alright?" Yugi asked, feeling a need to fill the void. He knew the answer. He could feel it in the shifting sands of her spirit.

"Yeah. Just tired." Umi lied. Yugi shook his head and looked at her.

"It's been a while since..."

"I don't want to talk about it." she cut him off.

"Fine." He returned to his silence.

"But thank you." she said after a moment. He reached out and squeezed her hand. "Sorry you got in trouble too."

After school, they walked home in silence, despite Tea's attempts to engage them in conversation. Yugi eventually slipped his hand into Tea's in an effort to still her chatter.

"Not now." He whispered. And she quieted. He could feel her eyes on him, every glance full of questions that he did not have the energy to answer currently.

They finished the walk in a silence that was filled with questions to ask and decisions to be made.

Umi pushed through the door to the shop on autopilot. She still felt the call of distant memories and the self-hatred that accompanied them. She passed through the shop and up the stairs without acknowledging anyone in the house. She wanted nothing more than to collapse onto her bed. She trudged blindly toward the stairs leading to her room when strong arms wrapped around her. She sank into the embrace and allowed herself to be turned to face the owner of the arms that now kept her from ending up in a heap on the floor. She looked up into Seto's worry-filled eyes as tears finally broke the dam she had used to hold them at bay.

Yugi kissed Tea on the cheek before following his sister into the building.

"I'll tell you about it later. I promise." He said from the doorway. Tea nodded, and Yugi smiled before he let the door close between them.

He was immediately besieged with questions from Ms. Takanada.

"Where's Grandpa?" Yugi asked as he tried to orient himself.

"He's out handling some business, something about permits. And it's a good thing too, because otherwise... Well," She slipped around the counter and locked the door behind Yugi. "Come see for yourself." Yugi followed the woman that had been both mother and grandmother to him for much of his life as she hurried up the stairs.

"What happened today?" She asked over her shoulder as she pushed through the door at the top of the stairs and slipped off her shoes.

"Umi got in trouble and," Yugi stopped short as he entered the main part of the house. The last thing he had expected to see was Kaiba standing near his kitchen, holding his sobbing sister. "What in the? Kaiba?"

The taller boy turned at his name.

"Who hurt her, Yugi?" His voice was icy, demanding and pregnant with vengeance for his love.

"She wasn't paying attention in class today." Yugi answered, shaking his head. "No one hurt her. In fact, we both got in trouble. And one might say that it was all your fault." Yugi looked sternly at him. "Convincing her to go out with you at all hours of the morning? Not getting her home in time for school? She was exhausted, and let's face it, history isn't her favorite topic." Yugi could not be certain, but he thought he saw a look of guilt flash over Kaiba's face. The older boy ushered Umi to the sofa and sat next to her. Yugi took a chair across a small table from them.

"I think," Yugi took a deep breath, realizing that he was rambling. "I think she was reliving some memories. I can't be sure, but she felt like she was, I don't know..."

"Trapped? Like she was being dragged underwater?"

"Yeah. Something like that." Yugi regarded Kaiba as the other stroked Umi's head. "How?"

"I was at work earlier when all of a sudden I feel my heart racing. My hands are shaking too much for me to do anything. I was gasping, as if I couldn't get enough air. I hadn't had a panic attack in a long time, but I remember what they are like. And I had no reason, no cause, just a sudden sense of dread hit me, and," Seto shrugged. "I just felt like something was wrong with Umi." He looked down at her nestled against him. She was sleeping. She seemed calmer, more at peace now.

"She's not well, Yugi."

"What do you mean?"

"She needs help. She's been through so much, lost so much, too much."

"But she seems fine."

Seto shook his head.

"She's not. You know better. Are you?"

"What?"

"You've been through a great deal as well. Losing your parents, losing... him." Seto felt his mind slipping into memories of Yugi's other personality. "Trust me, it's... a lot. Umi's had it worse than most. She shouldn't have to figure out how to live after the fact by herself."

"She has me."

Seto felt himself chuckle mirthlessly.

"Yeah. But you have your own problems. She needs professional help. My doctor is always trying to get me... never mind." Seto brushed his fingers over her soft hair. "Anyway, my doctor knows some good therapists, or at least he says they are good. I wouldn't know. She should go talk to someone."

"She doesn't need a therapist. She has family. She can talk to us." Ms. Takanada responded. Seto turned his cold gaze to her. He opened his mouth to argue when the bells on the shop door chimed. The entire room froze.

"I'm home!" Yugi's grandfather called from the bottom of the stairs. "Why was the shop locked up?" The room was still frozen when he entered. He looked from his lover to his grandson to the devil that was trying to steal his granddaughter. As his eyes met Seto's, Ms. Takanada stepped in front of him.

"Solomon, we need to talk." She ushered him to the back of the kitchen and tried to explain everything that she knew to him.

Seto looked back at Yugi and then glanced to the arguing couple.

"I should go."

"Yeah, you should."

"You know I'm right, Yugi." Seto laid Umi gently onto the cushions of the couch. "Think about it." He knelt next to her head and looked at her for a moment. He kissed her temple before he left. Yugi followed him down the stairs.

"Kaiba."

"Yugi."

"You're not going to apologize?"

Seto looked at him in confusion.

"For what?"

Yugi shook his head, marveling at how self-centered the other boy was.

"Never mind."
