A/N: Although the name is similar to the last one-shot, it is not a continuation. But hey, let me know if you guys ever do want a continuation and I'll get around to working on it.

Also, this was in the dark depths of my laptop for a while, so if the sentences are weird, I needed to go through it and remove some repetitive words. Like I said, this had been sitting for a while. I wanted to make a complete story out of it, but didn't really have the motivation or enough ideas for it.

This is what you get though!

Black light: Although many other types of lamp emit ultraviolet light with visible light, black lights are essential when UV-A light without visible light is needed, particularly in observing fluorescence, the colored glow that many substances emit when exposed to UV.

Enjoy!

"Dad," Danny spoke quietly as he walked over to the large man, who was currently burning something on the stove top.

"Dad?" He asked in a stronger and more audible tone, as his father didn't say anything as the man kept staring down at the skillet that contained a charcoaled piece of meat. Danny looked down at the ground uneasily as he cleared his throat. "Are you okay?" He asked, at a louder volume this time around.

"Danny?" Jack asked as he looked up and noticed the inedible food he was trying to cook. He sighed as he quickly placed it off the burner and onto an unheated one. "Sorry…" He mumbled before walking away from the stove and sitting at the small table in the kitchen. It only fit two, since the divorce had taken place. "I'm such a screw up, aren't I?" He asked, weakly smiling and leaning into his chair.

Danny shook his head, "It's not your fault," he stated, sitting down across from him, "Besides," he continued, trying to lighten up the mood, "I could always fly into town and get us some burgers!" He stated with a grin.

Jack glanced over at his son and chuckled. "You know, I don't feel very comfortable with you using your ghost powers," he mused, and when the teen heard it, his face fell. That wasn't fair, he was a ghost fighting super hero before the divorce, and he hasn't had a power accident in a week!

The man shook his head, "I understand that you were fine before…" He trailed, standing up and pushing in his chair. "But I worry about you." he stated and Danny couldn't help but be speechless at how genuine his tone was.

"It's been a week…" He mused quietly as he opened up the fridge and found it to be filled with unhealthy food.

Danny glanced into the fridge and was glad that the food wasn't covered in ecto-plasm. But he was still disappointed that his mom decided to divorce his dad over the anniversary fiasco that had taken place. She hadn't even let him defend himself! He looked at his dad and noticed his slightly smaller build. He couldn't help but frown at that.

"Have you been eating when I go to school?" Danny asked before he stood up and started to walk over to his father.

"Danny, you don't need to worry about me!" Jack beamed with a smile, "As long as you have food, that's all that matters!" He stated as he started to close the fridge. "Come on, I'll buy us those burgers!" He said, walking towards the door with a grin on his face.

"Dad," Danny said as he shook his head, "You really need to start eating," he stated in an unwavering tone before making his way into the hallway with his arms crossed in defiance.

Jack turned around and stared into his son's eyes. "Okay, son," he stated and Danny rose an eyebrow, "I swear I'll start eating healthier," he preached, making Danny nod his head. "We should start heading out, it's going to be eight soon," he stated, opening up the door.

Danny grinned, "I guess we should both eat healthier, huh?" He asked as Jack chuckled and playfully hit his son on the back. The door closed behind them with a solid click.

Danny's alarm went off and he groaned, "Seriously?" He grumbled, placing his an arm over his eyes to block out the sun that was coming out of the window.

"What happened last night?" He asked as his body ached more than a normal ghost fight. "Wait…" Danny said, sitting up with wide eyes, "Did I…willingly…eat salad?" He asked with slight disgust on his face.

"Without Sam telling me to?" He asked just as his alarm went off again. He shut it off with a sigh, "I guess dad was serious last night…" He mused out oud with a shrug before standing up off his bed to start getting ready for the day.

"Danny?" Jack asked appearing at the door of the teen's bedroom dressed in a formal suit, rather than his normal trademark orange jumpsuit.

Danny was in the middle of brushing his teeth and glanced at his bathroom mirror and saw a small glimpse of his dad. "Yeah?" He asked, looking behind him when his father walked in.

"Whoa!" Danny mumbled as he quickly spit out his toothpaste from his mouth and grabbed a hand towel from the sink to wipe his mouth. "Where are you going?" He asked, placing the towel down on the bathroom counter.

Jack grinned, "Your old man got himself an interview at the science department at Axion labs!" He chided out, his grin growing larger with every word, "Isn't that great?!" He asked - his excitement was clear in his voice.

"That's…" Danny stated, finally getting over his shock, "That's great!" He yelled and he practically ran over to where his father was, "When's your interview?" Danny asked as he looked around his bedroom and found his backpack and quickly flung it over his shoulder.

"In an hour or so," Jack said, his nervousness starting to show now as his body slumped.

"You want me to fly you there?" Danny asked and Jack shook his head slowly. "Are you sure? Flying is great!" Danny tried to persuade, but his father only smiled back at him.

Jack placed his hand on his son's shoulder, "I'm going to walk there," he stated and Danny nodded in understanding. "Wish your old man some luck!" He stated as he walked out of the room.

Danny grinned, "You're going to own it!" He yelled in encouragement when his stomach growled.

"…And I'm hungry," he stated as he started his way into the hallway, taking note that all of the family portraits were gone. Jazz's bedroom door was propped open, but contained nothing in it other than empty space. "Man, things have changed…" He mumbled and then turned intangible and fell through the floor to the ground level of the house.

"Danny, you have everything you need for school?" Jack asked, grabbing a piece of toast from the toaster. Danny nodded his head, but his father needed to be sure that his only son didn't need anything. "Do you need any lunch money? Advice? Help?" He asked in a hurried rush, all the while gathering all that he needed for his job interview.

"Geez, dad, no!" Danny yelled as his father smiled. "Just get out of here already!" He teased and Jack waved goodbye at him before opening the door and closing it behind him quietly. Danny noticed that there was a piece of toast on the plate on the counter.

He smirked, "Oh dad…" He mumbled, and the house let out a loud creak. Danny jumped as a result, "This place is so eerie now," he stated, picking up the piece of toast and starting to walk over to the door. He was half tempted to use his ghost powers to just fly out of the house, but he decided to walk today.

The teen barely got to the door when there was another creak from directly behind him. "This house isn't even that old!" He yelled, rolling his eyes. As soon as he placed a hand on the doorknob, his ghost sense went off.

"Well, well," came an amused voice from directly behind him. Danny felt chills run through him as there was an intimidating aura from behind him, "I knew that dolt had a son," the voice said again, making Danny clench the doorknob tightly.

"Don't insult my dad, you-!" Danny yelled as he turned around and found that no one was there. The teen narrowed his eyes as he looked around, his defense was up and he wasn't taking any chances.

"Where did…?" He trailed, and there was a knocking at the door, jolting him out of his thoughts suddenly. He quickly opened the door, thinking it was the ghost playing games with him. He was surprised with Sam and Tucker appeared at his doorstep.

"Oh," Danny sighed with relief.

Tucker rose an eyebrow, "You okay, dude?" He asked, in-taking a sniff – there was a putrid stench that Danny was giving off. "You ate vegetables!" He accused with disgust as he clenched his nostrils shut.

Sam gave a thumbs up in response, "Nice!" She encouraged and Danny looked behind him with narrowed eyes before shaking his head and closing his door. "Danny? Something bothering you?" She asked as the young halfa shook his head.

"I'm fine…I think I'm still half asleep or something," Danny mumbled making Tucker pulled out his PDA from his pants pocket.

"I have the song just to wake you up!" He sang in a sing song tone. He pressed a button on his device, and a girl's shrieking voice started to scram from the speakers.

Danny and Sam immediately placed their hands over their ears, "Tuck!" Danny yelled as he glared at him.

"Who is that?" Sam yelled and Tucker started to bob his head to the music.

"Her name is Ember M-!" He started to explain, but stopped when Sam smacked the PDA out of the boy's hands and onto the brutal concrete. "Baby!" He yelled and he gave his friend a heated glare.

Sam's eyes went wide with realization, "I'll buy you a new one!" She yelled quickly.

Danny chuckled, "It was just starting to get good," he teased as Tucker nodded in agreement.

"See? Danny likes it!" Tucker argued, placing his hands in the air in excitement. "And who wouldn't? Only haters, that's who!"

"No, he doesn't," Sam said, rolling her eyes, "Don't encourage him!" She hissed at Danny who was whistling nonchalantly. "At least tell us the escape plan for the club fair today," she stated dryly.

Danny stopped whistling and stopped walking, "That…was today?" He asked in a nervous tone. At seeing his two friends nod in sync his stomach dropped. "I'm not going today," he stated and he started to head back to his house.

Tucker grinned, "What, afraid of Amy Flynn trying to get you to join her various clubs?" He asked as Danny nodded stiffly.

"I kind of agree with Danny on this," Sam stated, "Amy is always trying to get us join her stupid clubs since middle school," she muttered with her arms crossed.

"I don't want to join the drama club…or the art club…" Danny listed as he started to bring out his fingers as he started saying them all.

Tucker nodded, "Robotics, culinary, student government, video game, tennis, basketball…" He trailed, looking up at the sky in thought. "Did I miss one…?"

Danny sighed, "Point is, I don't want to somehow get recruited into her after school programs!" He argued before taking a step towards his house. He felt that presence that was the owner of the voice that was inside of his house. He froze as he tried to look through a window to find the thing. He didn't like it, he knew it was stronger than him.

And had some sort of vendetta against his dad from the sound of it.

"Let's just go chill at Danny's house for the day," Sam stated and she started to follow Danny's lead but stopped when his ghost sense went off. Danny's eyes went wide as he could practically feel the ghostly energy from halfway down the street.

It was strong – he didn't know if he could fight it.

"You know what?" Danny asked in a hurried rush, causing his friends to stop walking and looked up at him, "Let's go to that fair, I've totally changed my mind," he stated, pivoting on his feet and starting to walk towards the school.

Tucker blinked in surprise, "This is a first since the beginning of middle school," he mused as he started to walk with his friend.

Sam ran to catch up with them, "Guys!" She yelled out in protest. Danny didn't slow down for anyone as he kept his place steady.

He didn't dare look back at his house, because he didn't want to see something.

"You get a new PDA if you join?" Tucker asked, the drool practically hanging out of his mouth.

"A new PDA every month if you join the NerdHerd club!" Ken stated with a grin as he folded his arms. "We would love if you joined, Tucker Foley. Your reputation is well known in Casper High," he stated, smiling in a friendly manner to lure him in. "A few seniors are genuinely impressed with some of your coding ideas!"

Sam growled, "He's not interested!" She yelled, trying to unlatch her friend's grip away from the booth. "What are you doing, Tuck?" She asked in anger.

Tucker whined, "But…But!" He complained as he tried to reach out to the booth that in front of him. Sam sighed and she turned around looking for Danny.

"Really?" Danny asked with excitement as he held the phone up to his ear in excitement, "You got it?!" He asked, his father chuckling on the other end.

"That's great! You have to tell me about it when you get ho-!" Danny started to say, but suddenly remembered the presence that seemed to take up residence in their home. "Actually, when school's out, let's meet at that one fancy restaurant in town…I can't think of the name of it…" He trailed, and his father said something that seemed to fill in the blanks.

"That's the one! Okay, see you there," he said, slamming the flip phone shut and storing it in his pocket.

"He got the job?" Sam asked with an excited grin on her face when she walked over to him with Tucker in tow.

Danny let out a nod, holding the urge to jump up and down, "Yeah! I feel like things are finally turning arou-!" He started to exclaim, but his familiar ghost sense interrupted what he was saying.

Tucker stood there, the three standing in an awkward silence of their own making. The dark skinned teenager let out a cocky smirk, "I think you jinxed it," he mused out loud, making Danny glance at him with an unamused expression on his face.

"I'll be right-!" Danny began to yell, but was stopped when he felt a gloved hand around his lower leg. His eyes grew wide and he let out a yelp before he was dragged down below the gymnasium floor. The last thing he heard were the concerned screams of his friends before landing on the ground harshly.

He was surprised that the meat had been stored somewhere else instead of the basement. Looking up, he noticed a ghost that he hadn't seen before standing before him. He had, however, recognized the presence of the ghost instantly – it was the same one that was in his house this morning!

"What do you want!?" Danny demanded with a glare, not backing down from the menacing ghost floating in front of him.

The ghost was silent for a few moments, crossing his arms smugly across his chest, "Interesting…" He trailed, looking at the boy as if he were examining him.

The young halfa let out a growl and stood up, "What is? Haven't seen a teenager before?" He asked sarcastically, narrowing his eyes as he clenched his fists by his side.

"I'll show you something that's really interesting!" He yelled out with rage, not amused at the fact that this new ghost got the jump on him.

He would show him just who he was messing around with.

Without taking another second to think about it, he willed the two white rings to turn him into his ghostly ego. In a flash, Danny Phantom was standing in Danny Fenton's place. Instantly he placed a hand out to the ghost and blasted mercilessly.

One hit.

Two hit.

Before the third hit had been formed, Danny felt the familiar, yet comforting coldness disappear. Confused, he looked down and noticed that he was once again in his human form. He looked back up and found the ghost directly in front of him, and this time he had a twisted smirk placed on his face.

"Crap…" Danny muttered before running off down basement hallway. He didn't know where he was going, but he wasn't going to be powerless in the face of the enemy.

How was it that he still didn't have a handle on his ghost powers after two months?

He was on a great streak – he hadn't even dropped any chemistry beakers this entire week!

Danny checked behind him and found that he had ran a good way and started to let out a small smile at his escape attempt. "That wasn't so-!" He began to say but turned his head to the front to see the ghost form before in front of him.

"Well, well, well!" The ghost yelled in amusement as the teenager skidded his feet to a stop. He didn't know where else he could run to. The ghost in front of him seemed to be powerful, and not to mention he wasn't up to full power yet.

"The ghost boy is Jack Fenton's son?" The ghost trailed letting out a demeaning chuckle, "I can work with this," he promised, striding casually over to the teenager. His white cape dragging on the floor, making Danny take a few steps back.

The teen had no idea what the ghost was going on about – but none of it sounded very good.

On instinct he placed a hand in front of him and fired a few ecto-blasts, but the ghost merely deflected them in front of the boy. Danny started to sweat, and he took another step backwards. He tripped over a box that he didn't know was there.

He landed on the floor and looked up at the ghost, "What do you want from me?" Danny demanded, not liking how this ghost wasn't attacking him. He was only toying with the young half ghost. He honestly found that disturbing and wanted it to break out into a fight.

"From you?" The ghost asked, a chuckle escaping his lips. "I don't want a thing from you, child," he commented, placing gloved hand out towards the boy. Danny tensed up and waited for the attack to come as he closed his eyes. "It's you that I want."

There was a pink flash.

And then Danny woke up.

He was laying in his bed at home, and immediately sat up with wide eyes. An ice bag fell off his head, and his friends along with his father all stood up with concern.

"Dude, are you okay?!"

"How are you feeling?"

"Which ghost did this to you?!"

Danny let out a small sigh from a headache that was slowly starting to grow. He placed a hand up to his head and closed his eyes, "Guys, calm down," he muttered as he let out a small smile from everyone's worry over him.

Jack placed a hand on his son's shoulders, "You get your rest, son," he stated as he ventured over to the door that was ajar, "We'll talk in the morning," he promised, closing the door as he exited.

"Dude, what happened?" Tucker asked as Danny suddenly opened up his eyes.

His friends could see the fear in those blue eyes of his. They had never seen him like this, not ever in their life.

"He said he wanted me," Danny whispered, looking at the surprised looks of his friends.

"What do you mean by that?" Sam asked, "He wants you how?"

The young halfa shook his head, "I don't know…" He trailed, "But he was strong, you guys. I don't know how, but…" He trailed looking at his friends with wide eyes, "He scares me."

END.
