A/N-Just wanted to let you guys know that the original plan was that the girls were going to go on an exotic trip, but K-Dub changed my mind. I enjoyed seeing her pictures of them while taking on the Sin City. So enjoy the new ride I am about to take you on.

Sam & Olivia had debated on where they wanted to go just the two of them. Olivia explained to Sheldon and Bri that she needed to spend some time with just Sam. Since she was in college she explained to the children they didn't see her as much them. She assured the children that they would meet up in Alaska.

Fitz assured the children he had plans do things planned for the three of them as well as some one on one plans. He also reminded them that their grandparents were with them. All of a sudden the kids were no longer upset that their mom and sister were leaving.

Fitz went to the air strip to see the pair off. He walked them over to the jet, and shared a long hug and kiss with each of them.

He looked at them, "This is your time. Talk to each other, enjoy each other, grow closer to each other. Nothing else matters right now. I'll see you two in four days."

The pair nodded.

They entered the jet where Fitz had their favorite drinks ready. The pair could only laugh. He never stopped taking care of them.

The two settled in for their five-hour flight. Neither wanted to talk about anything heavy at the moment. So they caught up on life and current events.

Although they had picked the location for their girl's getaway Olivia planned the details of the trip which Sam was fine with.

Olivia had asked her to email everything she would like to do even if what she wanted was a sold-out show. What they didn't do on this trip she had high hopes they would come back again? Once Olivia received the list she planned an unforgettable girl's getaway.

There was a car waiting for them when they landed. Olivia had decided they would be staying at the Red Rock Casino & Spa.

After check-in the ladies were taken to their suite.

Sam was shocked at what she was seeing. Olivia had booked their one-eighty suite. The suite was supposed to be one of the most luxurious in all of Las Vegas.

It was a total of 7,500 square feet. It included two bedrooms. The views were to die for. Between the Las Vegas strip, and the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area neither could decide which one they liked more. The suite included a massive patio, an outdoor Jacuzzi, round rotating couch, and a full bar.

Sam went over and hugged her mom, "This is beyond cool mom."

"I am glad you like it."

"No, I love it."

"I didn't plan anything today. What would you like to do?"

"Actually, nothing. I just want to enjoy spending time with you."

Olivia went over and grabbed her hand, "That is fine. I need you to know that this is not a one-time deal. Let's make a deal. Once a month we get together just the two of us. Sometimes we can take trips or just spend the day together. We can alternate planning. That way we are doing things we both want to do."

Sam grinned, "I would love that."

The pair decided they would order lunch in, and then they would take a nap. They would order in for dinner, talk, and watch a movie.

Both of them had enjoyed a nice nap. They had showered, and were now ready for dinner. Before arriving in Las Vegas both had decided they were going to truly enjoy themselves, and that included eating whatever they wanted.

While Olivia called to check in with Fitz & the kids Sam ordered their dinner.

They ordered chili cheese fries and quesadillas to start out with. Both wanted to try the French onion soup.

Both wanted a steak. Olivia went with their filet mignon while Sam decided on their bone-in rib eye steak. Each getting a fully loaded baked potato, market grilled vegetables, and a house salad to go with it. They each decided to try a different dessert so the other could share it. Olivia ordered their warm apple cobbler ala mode, and Sam went with their New York style cheesecake.

The food was brought up, and Sam was shocked not to see her mom go get a bottle of wine from their fully stocked bar. Fitz had told her that Sam was going to catch on immediately. He told her she should go ahead, and tell her. She could pretend when the kids were told.

Olivia took her husband's advice, "I figured you would make you a drink at the bar, but since your mom is going to be having another baby I'm going to have to pass."

"Okay mom!"

Olivia smiled. She watched her daughter make her drink, and then it dawned on her what her mom said. She looked at her mom, and realized that her mom just revealed that she was pregnant to her.

She ran over, and they shared a long embrace.

Sam looked at her, "Does Dad know?"

"I told him at your party."

She smiled as she saw the look in Sam's face, "I was not drinking, and I had my food prepared without alcohol."

Sam nodded

"When we tell your brother and sister you'll have to pretend we are telling you for the first time."

"Of course."

During dinner they talked about everything and nothing. Something that they both enjoyed more than either of them could express.

Sam looked at her mom, "I need you to know that I am not mad at you. This was never about me being mad at you."

"Okay, then what is this about?"

"When my dad shot me the only person I cared about was Sheldon. He was young, and he still had a full life to live. When I asked you to come to the hospital, and take Sheldon in that was all that I wanted from you."

"I know, but your dad knew that wouldn't work. I agreed with him. There was no way emotionally we could walk away from you, and Sheldon wouldn't have been able to handle losing you. The two of you were a packaged deal."

"I understand mom. I don't think you understand the type of people you and dad are. You love with your whole heart. There is nothing that you won't do for others. There is nothing that you won't do for your children. All three of us. People don't know immediately that we are not your biological children. What we have built is beyond special. Something that my biological parents never gave us. My father was a selfish man, and in ways my mom was too because in the end she gave up and gave in. It became about self-preservation for her, and she was willing to sacrifice us her children to get a little bit of peace and quiet from her husband. A life that we will never have to worry about with you guys."

Olivia nodded knowing she needed this time to just talk.

"So it was hard for me to imagine you as Jake's wife. The woman who got beat. That my mom was essentially my mother all over again."

Olivia looked away for a moment.

"Until dad shared with me what I knew to be true that you weren't. You took the beatings to keep your family safe and alive. You took the beatings because you loved dad so much that you would rather die a slow painful death than to ever allow him the chance to take dad off the face of this earth."

"Furthermore, that you planned to be kidnapped. That you knew those men were going to take you, and it was the chance you were willing to take. This time not only to save your husband but your children. You decided the lesser of two evils. We would be in pain, but we would be alive. The ultimate sacrifice, and that hurt. It hurt, that I almost lost you. The only mom to ever see me. The only mom who took the time out of her busy schedule to come to see me. To sit down and ask me what is wrong. The only mom who calls just to say hello, I love you, you were on my mind, is there anything that I can do for you."

Tears were now falling down Olivia's face.

"I was angry that he had taken you away. I was scared shitless, and there were moments I couldn't breathe. That dad and Kimmie had to do it for me. I was angry that he had already taken so much of your life, and now he wanted to take more."

She stopped, but Olivia could tell that she had something else she needed to say.

She finally looks at her mom, "I thought I was going to lose my best friend. Sure Kimmie and I are best friends, but I have always known that Vanessa is her best friend in the entire world. Something I never understood until you came into my life. I love you mom, and I am not afraid to tell you or show my love for you. I lived too many years without real parental love to front. The fact that you were willing to change our trip plans around in order to make this happens is just another example of the love you have not only for me, but all of us."

Olivia opened her arms, and Sam gladly ran into them where they shared a nice cry fest.

Olivia kissed her forehead, "Yes, Jake took a lot of years away from me. I also took them from myself. I had a chance to run into your dad's open arms. I didn't take it which is why it is so important that you and Bri not follow in my footsteps. I am proud of the young woman that have become. Your dad and I both like Nick. Don't punish Nick for the sins of others. If you think he is the one go for it. Don't let him get away."

"Thank you mom."

"You never have to thank me for loving you. When I made the decision to let myself get kidnapped it was the hardest decision I ever had to make, but as you guy's mom I had to do it. We all had to endure pain in the short term to get a lifetime of happiness, and that is a decision that I will never regret."

Sam understood what her mom was telling her, and that felt great. She was going to ask her for more details about the kidnapping, and her time with Jake then she had changed her mind.

It was the past, and neither could change what had happened. So it was time to move forward in peace and live in the moment. They had all survived as a family, and now they had so much to look forward to.

The next morning the pair headed to the spa. Olivia had planned a day of relaxation at the spa that she hoped her daughter would never forget.

They started out with massages. She arranged for Sam to get the Nirvana Stress Relief Massage. The treatment used aromatherapy and deep tissue massage in the treatment. Sam got to pick her own exotic herbs. Olivia was getting a prenatal massage.

Next both of them enjoyed get the Ultimate HydraFacial. Olivia wanted them to get this type of facial because they used Naturopathica's natural products before and after. Sam was excited because they used RED & Blue Led light therapy. The red plumps up aging skin, and the blue zaps bacteria that causes blackouts.

Before lunch they enjoyed a conditioning body wrap.

For lunch Olivia was craving BBQ. The team that was taking care of them were being so gracious that she decided to treat them as well as the manager to lunch.

Since Olivia was buying lunch they agreed to pick it up, and they enjoy it together in their lounge.

Sam & Olivia heard Lucille's Smokehouse had BBQ out of this world. They decided to split a platter. The platter included baby back ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. For their sides they ordered roasted garlic mashed potatoes, southern braised greens, corn on the cob, and watermelon.

They pigged out. Neither could tell you if it was the best BBQ or if they were just starving.

That afternoon they decided to wax. Although it was painful at times it was still worth it as both got the Brazilian wax. They also got their brow and chins done.

Then they enjoyed a top of the rock manicure and pedicure. However, the biggest part of their day was when they went over to the hair salon.

After they talked the previous night both of them individually decided they were ready to make more changes in their lives especially Sam.

She had spoken with Nick earlier in the day, and her parents had okayed for him to come to Alaska and Rome with them. It would give the couple time together, time for the family to get to know him, and time for him and Fitz to spend together. She had never seen her boyfriend so happy.

They each decided to go into separate rooms so they could surprise each other when they were finished. Hours later both stood in the mirror in awe of the change they had each made.

When they stepped out to look at each other both gasped. Each had undergone dramatic transformation.

Sam rarely cut her hair. She wasn't allowed until she was sixteen, and by then her self-esteem was so low she didn't cut despite many saying the long hair did nothing to show off her beautiful face. When she began to work as a make-up artist she would keep it trimmed, and put up in a ponytail or bun. It was quick and easy, and allowed her to work with ease.

Now she was ready for the world to see her. She had family and friends who loved her, and she was really ready to embrace life. So she cut her hair that was almost to her butt to her shoulders. Her hair was now cut into a ombre razor bob.

Olivia had cut her hair a couple of times, but it always remained at least shoulder length or a little above the shoulder. At first it was because Jake wouldn't allow her to cut it, then it was because she thought her Fitz wouldn't like it, and finally she thought she looked more professional.

Today she decided she wanted a cut that she would never go for. Something edgy and sexy. Leave enough for her husband to put his hands through.

That is why she was now standing in front of her daughter with a textured chin-length bob.

After both got over the initial surprise they became giddy. They were excited for one another, and thought both of them had never looked better.

Olivia was so happy with their looks, and how happy and relaxed they both were at the end of their spa day that she tipped every person thirty percent.

The women were so thankful for the tips. They took pictures of them with both of their cell phones. Olivia was so impressed that she offered them jobs. She felt like they were perfect to work at the foundation helping the women to get back on their feet. In addition, she could style them whenever they had events. Olivia was willing to pay to relocate them. She informed them she was still on vacation till the end of summer, but if they wanted the job they could contact her and they would work out the details when she returned home.

The two of them had been posting pictures on their Facebook pages all day, and their friends were really enjoying the updates. Everyone knew they were in the hair salon, but before they revealed their new look they knew it was only fair that their significant others see it first.

Nick was with Fitz. As soon as Sam asked if he wanted to tag along with her family on the next leg of their adventures Fitz arranged for him to come to New York.

The entire family loved Nick. Sheldon loved having a big brother, and Bri loved how Nick spoiled her and treated her like she was a princess. She could do no wrong in his eyes.

Olivia called Fitz first. He & Nick were together. She told him she was about to Facetime him so they could see their new looks first.

Both men understood.

When the video came up Fitz saw Olivia first, and then he saw Sam. He was speechless. When they looked at Nick he was the same way. Then Olivia turned back and looked at her husband, and this time he had tears coming down his face.

Olivia whispered, "Fitz, you hate it that much?"

"No, I love it that much. You have never done anything dramatic. You normally plan, and think things through. Especially when it comes to your appearance. Honey, you look absolutely stunning. I am glad that the two of you are making the most of your time together, and Sam honey you are gorgeous. The new look makes you actually look like the beautiful young woman that you are. No longer hiding behind the hair."

Nick nodded, "Sam, babe Mr. G is right. I understand why you did it, but honestly the hair made you look older. It hid your beautiful face. We saw it, but now I feel like everyone will see it. I am glad that I snagged you up before the other guys got a chance."

They all laughed.

"Mrs. G., you really are a beautiful woman. Inside and out. Thank you for talking to Sam. Thank you and Mr. G for supporting our relationship. I promise to never intentionally hurt her. I love her too much for that."

Sam smiled, "I love you too Nick. Thanks dad for everything. I love you."

"Love you too honey…"

Olivia smiled, "Thank you both. Nick, I don't think I could ask for a better partner for my daughter. I think all four of us have had enough tragedy. I think that we need to live life. Fitz honey, I know that it is unspoken, but I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I made a bad decision that caused us both a lot of heartache, but we made it. Now it is time that we live."

All four agreed. They chatted for a few more minutes. They showed the rest of the family their new hairdos. Everyone was thrilled with the new looks. Her mom's both shed a couple of tears as well when they saw them. It was a happy moment.

They ended the chat, and headed to their rooms to get ready for dinner. Olivia had gotten them reservations at T-Bones Chophouse. She arranged for them to sit on their patio so they could also enjoy the live music.

Thankfully the baby was treating her good, and they seemed to enjoy the relaxation of the spa day. She wasn't experiencing any morning sickness.

Before getting ready she called her husband again. She wanted to assure him that she was fine, and that the baby was fine. He thanked her for calling, and told her that he knew she would call if needed. Told her to enjoy the time with Sam.

An hour later they both walked out the room ready to go. They laughed when they saw each other. Neither of them had talked about what they were wearing tonight, but you couldn't tell.

Olivia wanted to wear the dress she had on before she really started to show. So she had on a black/white Alexandra Vidal sleeveless illusion organza cocktail dress.

Sam was rocking a dress that ironically her mom bought for her as a birthday gift. She had never worn it, because she wasn't comfortable in her skin. She didn't see what her mom saw until recently.

Now she felt like a sexy vixen in her black Givenchy sleeveless leather & suede A-line dress.

Both of them smiled at their coordinated outfits. They complimented each other.

Before they walked out Olivia turned and looked at Sam, "I am glad that you finally see the beautiful daughter that I saw from the moment I met you."

Sam hugged her mom, "I wouldn't have been able to see it without you."

"That is my job as a mom."

"That is what makes you great. Let's go turnt up mom."

They made it to the restaurant, and were taken to their seats. Both of them enjoyed the seats. Olivia told Sam she could order whatever drinks she wanted. She couldn't drink with her now, but they would enjoy a drink together after the baby arrived.

Speaking of baby. She was starving. This baby was a bottomless pit. Making her believe early on that she was having a boy. Deep down that is what she was hoping. For her husband and her son. Sheldon loved Bri, but he wanted a brother.

They had a blast. After getting their drinks they ordered shrimp tempura and kale salads as their starters.

It took them awhile to order their meals, because they were enjoying the live band that was performing. They were having the time of their lives.

Finally, they placed their order. They decided to make it easy on their server so they both ordered the veal chops with baked yams, broccoli florets, and creamed corn.

It was a fun evening. Sam really let her hair down. She didn't get drunk, but she was pretty tipsy by the end of the night.

They talked with the table next to them. They ended up dancing with them a couple of times before the night was over.

Olivia helped Sam to her room. She didn't think she would have a major hangover the next morning, but just in case she brought Sam a bottle of water and some aspirin. She put it on her night stand before saying good night.

She smiled as she got ready for bed. She let Fitz know they made it in safe. They shared how their day was, and before getting off the phone she put the phone on her stomach.

It didn't matter that the baby couldn't hear. He had done the same thing with Bri, and he felt that it built their bond.

Fitz ended up singing her to sleep.

The baby didn't like something she ate for dinner so she was up for a bit. Once she threw everything up she felt better.

She had woken up around six, and fixed herself a cup of ginger tea. She drank that, and ate some crackers. She had gotten hungry after throwing everything up. It was enough to tide her over until they ate breakfast or more than likely brunch since they didn't get in pretty late.

She was right. She went back to bed, and neither of them moved until around noon. Both were starving, and opted for room service again.

They ordered mimosas. They had a pitcher made with non-alcoholic wine.

Olivia didn't want to smell eggs this morning. Sam was fine with that. They decided to order Belgium waffles with apple smoked bacon and breakfast potatoes. They also ordered a tropical fresh fruit platter. The platter was served with yogurt & banana bread.

Sam laughed at her mom. It seemed like she couldn't get enough of the banana bread.

Olivia laughed, "What? Your brother or sister is in heaven. They didn't like the heavy food last night, but this bread is everything to them."

"Sorry, I didn't hear you."

"No big deal. I made sure that I didn't wake you. I knew it was nothing big. I would have gotten you if it was major."

Sam nodded.

They decided they wanted a low key day.

Olivia had decided that she was going to tell Sam somethings on this trip in order to ease her mind when it came to her dad.

"You know although our dads weren't physically abusive our dads were nonexistent in our lives. My dad lived and breathed his job as a prominent physician. While he loved his patients he was in love with concept of family. He was in love with the power he wielded. We wanted for nothing financially, but my mom and I were emotionally bankrupt. He rarely showed up for me. When he did most of the time it suited him. Whenever I brought it up he dismissed my feelings, and bought me ridiculous expensive gift that I didn't need or want. I just wanted him to love me, see me, understand me. It never happened. It is sad to say, but I was relieved when he died. Not only so he could no longer be in physical pain, but we could all be freed from the emotional abuse."

Sam was shocked to hear about her mom's relationship with her dad. She never asked what happened to their dads. Neither spoke about them. Now she was beginning to understand.

"Your dad's father abandoned him in a way. Before that he beat him and his mom for years, and guess what he never told me. I found out when we moved to California, and his dad scheduled an appointment with minimal information for me to help him out of a jam. It caused your dad & I to fight. We even had a mini separation."

"May, I ask what the fight was about if his dad was so bad?"

"Well, as I mentioned earlier they had hidden the beatings. In later conversations I learned that when he hit them most of the time he hit them in places that in public they could easily hide. They got out, and never looked back. His dad never attempted to be in life again until that day in our office."

Sam nodded then she began to giggle, "Mom, you don't like being played. Especially when it comes to a client. You only have one rule. What happened to dad's father?"

Olivia laughed, "So he originally came in because his secretary was blackmailing him. However, she had beaten him to the punch and reached out to me. I didn't put two and two together, because she had not revealed who her boss was. She demanded the money as part of the plan that I set up. He was going to make a run for senator. So I had Huck find their records, and I found a reporter to write the article under the condition she not release any pictures. Jenny took the money, but we wrote the non-disclosure. We never listed the police. She had a lot to say, and that led to his demise."

Sam almost hit the floor laughing. When she finally composed herself she said, "I bet he wishes he never looked you up."

Olivia began to laugh. She agreed with Sam. It took a few minutes for them to compose themselves.

"Listen honey it was important that you know that we turned out okay despite the dads we had. I know that your mom was so busy trying to keep your dad happy to keep the abuse down that you question yourself. I had two wonderful loving moms, and still ended up choosing an unhealthy relationship over a healthy one. That is why your dad and I in some ways are pushing you and Nick. If for one moment I thought you didn't want the relationship with I would let it go, but I know you do. I can't let you make the same mistakes I did. You have had enough heartache and pain. Now it is time for joy."

"You are right mom. Thank you not only for staying on top of me when it comes to Nick, but just things in general. The talks these last couple of days have meant a lot to me. Something that not only I needed, but very much wanted. I know that I am adult, but I just enjoy the relationship we have. I don't have to be envious of Kimmie & Vanessa anymore. Although it was hard at times I bonded with dad. I realized just how much he loved not only you, but us kids as well. I promised dad that if you were okay that I would live life to the fullest, and never look back. You are alive mom, and I am ready to live life. Enjoy college, build my relationship with Nick, travel, and spend time with my siblings. I can honestly say that I am happy, and I have you and dad to thank."

"Well, we are just trying to be the parents that our moms taught us to be. They both wanted a big family, but the men in their lives obviously took that choice out of their hand. Now we are giving them a bunch of grandbabies. Not only do I love you and Sheldon to the moon and back you don't have to be afraid. Nobody is going anywhere. The only thing this family is going to happen to this family is we grow."

Sam laughed, "So you plan to have more?"

"Your dad always wanted three or four? After everything that has happened I want to give him the family, and it is not just for him. I want our own little Brady bunch. My fixing days are over unless it is related to the foundation."

"I think it is a good idea. Your foundation is going to be as big as Bill & Melinda Gates if not bigger. A lot of my classmates have signed up to volunteer at one of the houses in some capacity."

"Wow, really?"

"Yep, I know Vanessa said the school send some information over about considering a partnership. I think it is a win-win."

Olivia agreed. She would make a note to discuss that with Vanessa when they returned from vacation.

They decided to have a lazy day. Olivia had arranged for them to have a private cabana at the Pool Backyard.

They had went shopping, and purchased similar swimsuits. Olivia was in a black Michael Kors one-shoulder wrap one-piece swimsuit. Sam had decided on a white Michael Kors belt trim neck one-piece swimsuit. They had on the same cover-up. It was a rose dip Marie France Van Damme embroidered-front ombre short tunic cover-up.

They posted selfies to both of their accounts before beginning their day. They ended up spending most of the day at the cabana. The drinks and food never stopped. They even ended up playing some games at the poolside casino & table games where they both won a little money.

Olivia took a nap so she could enjoy their evening. That night they headed to the movies. They watched Captain America: Civil War in Imax. They ended their night at Red Rock Bowling Lanes. The two partied to the wee hours of the morning.

Fitz laid in his bed in New York after putting the kids to sleep, and spending time with Nick. He valued this time, and wouldn't take life for granted.

As he looked at the pictures his wife and daughter posted he could only smile. He had never seen his wife so happy. He could tell she was really embracing life when they were in Myrtle Beach. Then when she told him she was expecting it was the best news ever. Especially, because he could see in her eyes how happy she was.

The time she was spending in Las Vegas was life changing. Not only for Sam, but he could tell that Olivia was enjoying her time as well. She had a new lease on life. He didn't doubt that she loved being his wife, and mother to their children, but she needed time just for her. Time to be a little selfish. Something that even he had done although he had the two youngest.

He knew it would make them a better couple in the long run. He couldn't wait to have her back in his arms soon, but something told him that it was going to be well worth the wait.

It was mid-morning before Sam woke from the dead as her grandmothers would say. She admittedly had a slight hangover, but it was worth it for the night that she had with her mom. She had not had this much fun in a long time.

She headed out to see what her mom was up. She knew she had to be up by now. The baby wouldn't allow her to sleep in this later. Even if she had laid back down more than likely she would be up by now.

She made it to the living room, and stopped when she heard her mom talking. She immediately tensed up for a moment, because she heard her mom crying.

After a few moments she realized that it was her hormones. And she really missed dad. She felt guilty for a moment until she overheard both of them saying how much this time was needed. Not only for the two of them to bond, but Olivia admitted she needed this time to herself. Where she was only responsible for her really. She was able to grow, and shed a lot of dead weight.

She watched her parents interact, and she smiled. For so long all she saw was a man beat a woman. Whether he was happy, sad, mad, or glad her biological father beat her mom. Beat them for no reason at all. She didn't understand what love was until she met Fitz & Olivia. Even when her dad was angry he didn't even consider raising a hand to his mom.

Now she knew what love looked like. Not only to be in a relationship, but for herself. The truth of the matter was she was in love with Nick. She dreamed about marrying him after college. She just dreamed period now some days, and she didn't know if she should be scared or not. After talking to her mom she realized that she should be ecstatic with the life that she was now living.

She went back to her room so she could allow her parents their privacy. She called and checked in with Kimmie.

Kimmie was truly happy for her best friend. She couldn't imagine who she would be without her mom. She always considered Sam more her sister, and she knew she felt the same way. Her mom had done a lot for Sam over the years, but she understood it wasn't the same. A mother's love is something you cherish. Something Sam's biological mother wanted to give her, but couldn't due to constant battles with her husband.

Now she had that with her adopted mom who loved her like she birthed her. God had answered her prayers and then some. She knew that Olivia would spend time with Sam, and ease her pains and worries, but it was clear that she had done so much more. Especially when she saw the pictures of Sam's makeover.

They hadn't talked, but texted each other every day. Now hearing her voice made her heart constrict. Her best friend now understood what it was like to truly be loved. She had to admit that she was also happy for them. Now that she wasn't as self-conscious she had a feeling they would grow closer. Kimmie didn't have to worry about saying the wrong thing that would upset her. They could do more as friends, but individually as well. She no longer had to feel guilty when her mom wanted to do something just the two of them.

Kimmie asked, "So has the trip met your expectations?"

"Actually exceeded it. Sorry I am just calling. I should have called you before I posted the makeover."

"No apology needed. I enjoyed the surprise. Why do you say it has exceeded it?"

"I don't know. I expected us to come someplace nice, and I would talk. I expected her to be honest with me, but maybe not as open as she was which was wonderful. We literally have spent hours talking about everything and nothing. She opened up and was vulnerable, and it allowed me to be. I am not mad at my mama anymore. The fact is she was fighting just about every day to live, and there wasn't much time for anything else. However, I was a child. I didn't ask to be here, and my parents failed me. I mourned their loss, and now I am ready to move on. Stop looking back."

Kimmie was surprised. She knew this wasn't easy for her friend, but it was necessary. She never commented on her actions, because she didn't live her life. She knew just when Sam was about to move forward Olivia was kidnapped, and it once again made her question everything. She was glad to see that the weekend was productive.

"I am really happy for you Sam. If anyone deserves the good life it is you. Happiness has eluded you for so long. I just want you to be happy."

"I know Kimmie. Thank you for always being in my corner even when you didn't understand. You have never let me down. You shared your family with me. You loved me when no one else did."

Kimmie chuckled to keep from crying, "Hey too early for that. You are more than welcome. I am just glad that you now have two loving parents. That you have a family that loves you."

She treaded lightly, "You even have a man that loves you."

Kimmie, "You don't have to walk on egg shells around me anymore. I am not the fragile person I used to be."

"Sorry…."

"Don't be. I know what a hot mess I used to be, and while I am not totally fixed I can assure you I am not that person anymore."

"I understand."

"Good. You are right. Nick loves me, and I am pretty sure I am in love with him. I will find out for sure over the next couple of weeks."

"How?"

"Nick is with the rest of the family. Mom and dad invited Nick on this next leg of our trip. So he will be going to Alaska with us, and then on to Rome. We won't be sharing a room which is fine. We decided that we wanted to wait until we were married to have sex so we can ensure we build a solid foundation."

Sam could only laugh as she saw the reaction of her best friend. You would have thought it was her boyfriend the way she was reacting. She knew that Kimmie was also worried she was going to push Nick away.

Kimmie calmed down, "Sorry, I am just so happy for you. He is one of the good ones. He respects everyone in your family, loves your parents and grandparents, and most importantly loves and respects you. He is like your dad. The only DAD that matters."

"I agree!"

"Good, well we'll see you on the final leg of your family adventure. I can honestly tell you that I am excited to go on this joint family vacation. It has been awhile since my parents have been able to take time off."

"I know. They deserve it. I'm excited too."

The girls talked for a few more minutes before ending the call.

Later on that evening they were putting the finishing touches on their outfits. All Sam knew was that they were going to a show.

She had decided to wear another dress that her mom bought for her that had been in her closet taking up space until now.

It was a silver Naeem Khan allover beaded fringe skirt dress. She had paired it with a pair of strappy sandal heels.

Sam smiled at her stylish mom who was wearing a magenta/black Oscar de la Renta sleeveless embellished lace dress.

"Wow mom for a pregnant mom you are hell of sexy…"

Olivia laughed, "Just don't want to embarrass you or myself for that matter."

"That will never happen."

"Thanks honey. That dress looks spectacular on you. I knew those dresses were for you as soon as I saw them. "

"Thank you. I am sorry that I am just beginning to wear a lot of the clothes you bought for me."

Olivia grabbed her hand, "Sam, I never expected you to wear them immediately. I knew it was a process. After speaking with my therapist she suggested that I look at from the standpoint of an obese person. When they are on their journey they buy outfits that they can't wear at the present moment, but they put it up. They look at it, and work toward getting in that outfit. I prayed that with time, pray, love, and maybe even therapy you would get to see the young woman we loved and respected. So you are more than welcome, but thank you for being who you are. I can't stress enough how important you are to me, and this family. We can't go back, but we can use the past to make our future all the brighter."

The pair shared a long embrace. They touched up their makeup before they headed out for their last night on the town. Both were excited to take in the show.

Sam about passed out when she realized her mom got them front row seats to see J-Lo live at Caesars. Olivia had captured the entire moment on video, and began to post them on her wall.

Their family smiled as they watched the videos both of them posted. After Sam got over realizing who they were coming to see she realized her mom was just as excited if no more.

Right before intermission Sam realized why.

J-Lo, "I have a confession. I love to learn new things especially when it comes to the government. I love learning the laws so much that I thought I wanted to be a lawyer. I even got accepted into law school. I finished the first year before I decided it wasn't for me, and I got my first big break. I was shy, and liked to keep to myself. However, I had one friend. It worked for both of us. Our boyfriends ran in the same circle so we saw each other a lot. We helped each other a lot. Ironically it is she who told me to follow my real dreams. In a way you all need to thank her. She made me open up my eyes, and really look at what I wanted."

Lots of applause and cheers were heard throughout the audience. This time it was Sam who was recording, because her gut told her that J-Lo was talking about her mom.

"I was surprised to see where life had taken this smart, vibrant, vivacious young woman that I remembered. I was shocked to find out that life had not been as good to her as it had been to me. Even sadder to realize that I was there when she was going through some difficult times. Recently she reached out to me, and before I could say anything she informed me that I had to let it go. Forgive myself, because I had done nothing wrong. She had hidden her pain. Something that is all too common. In order to get her life and family back completely she was hurt again by this same man, but God made sure that he would never hurt her again."

More cheers and applause.

"Tonight she is here…"

The crowd grew louder.

"I need everyone to get on their feet, and welcome the real star of the show. My friend to the end. A real hero. The woman who fought against her abuser. Now she is helping women do that in ways we don't have time to explain. My girl from the block Mrs. Olivia Grant."

The standing ovation was something that Olivia had never heard before especially for her. These people were here to see her old friend. One of the best in the music industry; yet they were treating her like she was a superstar. The applause only got louder when the screen was on her. She couldn't stop the tears from fallings. That went on for five minutes. J-Lo leading the way. Finally, the crowd calmed down.

"Also show some love to her beautiful daughter. While I won't share the details of her story. That is for her to tell one day if she chooses to just know that she won her battle as well. My kind, loving, and wonderful friend adopted her and her brother. They are now one big happy family."

"Long applause for the both of them. The pair shared a warm embrace which warmed the audience's hearts. J-Lo thanked them both for coming to attend her show. She assured Olivia that she had not forgotten. She then left the stage."

Sam turned to her mom, "You never cease to amaze me with your heart."

Olivia looked up in shock, "I didn't do anything. I just made some calls. "

"I am not talking about getting us the seats although we will talk about that another time. You know how much I love J-Lo. I am talking about your heart. Even when Jake was secretly tearing your life apart you were making sure others were okay."

Olivia nodded, "It was how I survived each day. Believing that everyone was going to be okay as they long as they were true to themselves that they loved the best version of themselves. I didn't have the courage to do it for myself. It was backwards, but I can't change it. All I can do is learn from my mistakes, and now that I am a wife and mother work to try and not repeat those mistakes again in the future. More importantly teach my children not to make those same mistakes."

"I get it mom. Thank you for the sacrifice you made. With everything we talked about that is the one thing I haven't said to you or anymore for that matter. Despite how scary that time was for all of us thank you for making the ultimate sacrifice to protect your family. I know I have come across ungrateful, and that was never my attention. It was just…"

Olivia stopped her, "Thank you for your apology. Although not necessary I appreciate it. You going out, and living to the best of your ability is all the apology I need."

A few minutes later the lights dimmed, and Jennifer Lopez put on the rest of her amazing concert. Everyone was having the time of their life.

Afterward Olivia & Sam were taking back to meet J-Lo. Sam stood back and watched the emotional reunion. She recorded it, but for personal use.

They took lots of pictures, and ended up eating dinner together in J-Lo's suite. It was an evening they would never forget.

Jennifer & Olivia promised to keep in touch. Jennifer informed Olivia she had marked time off in her calendar to attend the second annual gala. She wanted to meet Fitz.

Olivia wanted her to meet the rest of the family. Jennifer informed her she blocked a couple of days out. Everyone looked forward to the get together. There was a chance that Jennifer would get to meet the latest addition to the Grant family.

Some of what happened in Vegas would stay, but a majority of it has been shared. For those who had the honor and privilege to see their personal lives they saw a transformation the last couple of days.

Everyone was now on the jet headed to Alaska. Now that Olivia & Sam spent time together working on their relationship Fitz had arranged time for them to reconnect.

Their relationship was solid. They just missed one another more than they cared to admit until that last night in Vegas when Olivia's hormones got the best of her, and she called Fitz.

That would be rectified soon.

A/N-I am stopping there. So again this was not the original girl's trip. Got the idea after Kerry's short return to Twitter when she and the girls did their trip.

For the purposes of this story I added Jennifer Lopez going to college so they would have a back-story.

In addition to the pictures of their outfits I added pictures of their haircuts. Each one of these styles have been on Kerry.

I really hope that you enjoyed the girl's trip and their talk. Depending on the reviews I receive will decide how much I branch out. I don't think too from Olitz, but we shall see what you readers have to say.
