Daniel raised an ecto-shield without even lifting a limb. Danny watched in awe as he scrambled up to his feet. The older teen looked down at his younger version of himself, "If I know my Vlad like I know I do…" He trailed, offering his hand down to the younger teen. Danny shakily took it and stood up slowly, "Then you don't have a lot of time," he said, narrowing his eyes up at the sky.

Danny followed his gaze and found the floating form of his own Vlad Plasmius with his arms crossed snugly across his chest. The teen then glanced over at his older self, "Are you sure…?" He trailed, making Daniel let out a dark chuckle.

"As if you could help me, Danny," Daniel said, waving his hand behind him. In seconds, a green swirling vortex appeared. The younger teenager nodded and morphed into his ghost half. In less than a second, he disappeared into the vortex. As soon as his younger self was safe, he dropped the barrier and addressed his undivided attention on the older half ghost. "I believe this is the first time we've fought," he stated, placing his hands in his pants pockets casually.

"Cocky, aren't you?" Plasmius asked sarcastically with a raised eyebrow. Daniel watched as the older halfa landed on the ground. The teen was unmoving and hadn't moved an inch, "Vladimir told me about your tactics," he stated, making Daniel raise an eyebrow, "We're evenly matched."

Daniel shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "For the moment," he admitted, walking over to the older halfa. His steps seemed to echo across the empty streets of Amity Park. "Until you do something stupid and desperate."

Plasmius chuckled earnestly, "I don't intend to, boy," he taunted, his gloved hands lighting up with pink ecto-plasm.

"No one ever plans to make mistakes, Vlad," Daniel mused before he disappeared from Plasmius' line of sight. The older halfa looked around, trying to locate the teen's ecto-signature. "That won't work, V-Man," Daniel echoed around the area before appearing in the air with his hands still in his pockets lazily.

Plasmius quickly looked up in time to get a face full of ecto-blasts. They were black and green, the black color alarmed the older halfa. Daniel would have to have such hate within his soul to create the dense black ecto-plasm. Vladimir told him of all the tricks he would see in this battle; but it was still jaw dropping.

Daniel wasn't to be taken lightly, it would seem.

The blasts caused a smoke screen, and Daniel hovered in the air with one hand free from his pockets. He was surprised to see an ecto-shield around the older halfa. "Now that we've warmed up…" The teen trailed with a devious smirk on his face. He swung his free arm out to the side and a condensed black sword of ecto-plasm appeared in his clenched hand. "Let's start," he ordered, looking down at the older halfa who was standing on the ground.

"You can't teach an old dog new tricks," Plasmius said with a smirk. He created a pink sword of his own and clenched it in his right hand. He then placed his other hand on the handle, ready to fight the older form of his soon to be apprentice. "Do try to entertain me," he added lightly.

"But you didn't pay for this program," Daniel retorted before teleporting in front of the man. Quickly Plasmius blocked the quick attack, just to block another one when he saw black obscure his vision. Daniel still held a hand in his pocket, obviously not taking this fight seriously. "I think that's stealing," Daniel muttered, looking up at the sky just in time for Skulker to rain down a few weapons of his own. Missiles were locked into his ecto-signature, and the teen let out a half-smirk at seeing the projectiles being rained down upon him.

The older teen quickly teleported away a few steps. His image flickered in and out and reappeared a few feet away. The heat tracking missiles went through his afterimage and immediately blew up. Smoke and fire was now on the battlefield.

Daniel twirled his black sword around his hand before he pointed it at Skulker with a grin. The ghostly hunter's eyes widened at being targeted; something that he wasn't used to. The black sword then separated into sixteen different spikes and hovered in the air for a few seconds. Since the teenager was physically the age of sixteen, that's how many spikes were generated to reflect his years.

"You should be glad that I only appear sixteen, Skulker," he nonchalantly added before he darted his eyes up slightly.

The spikes were then sent flying over at the hunter. Daniel looked over at Plasmius, who seemed to be observing the younger halfa. The older teen quickly reformed his black ecto-sword with a flick of his wrist. It appeared in a millisecond – far quicker than it materialized before. "He'll be preoccupied for about ten minutes," he announced, making Vlad chuckle.

"You know your target audience," Vlad stated shrugging his shoulders.

"Was that a pun?" Daniel asked, a playful smirk on his face, "Vladdie, never took you to punish me like this," he added, and Vlad's amusement vanished. A silence erupted through the area, and soon the two halfa's were back at it again with their ecto-swords.

Dodging.

Counter-attacking.

Blocking.

Side stepping.

Attacking.

Teleporting.

Reappearing.

Clashing.

Daniel began to get the feel of his enemy and decided to do something risky. He raised his hand to block the man's sword. Vlad realized too late that a limb was in the way instead of a weapon to block. There was a loud crack, and then blood mixed with green started to drip from the wound. Curiously enough, there was also a few specks of black ecto-plasm that leaked onto the pavement below.

The teen's severed hand was on the ground, and Vlad took a few steps backwards. He hadn't meant to do that.

The wrist held a strange symbol around it.

It was an accident.

At that, the older halfa looked up to realize that Daniel was smirking. A sudden rush of power filled the young halfa and Vlad's eyes grew wide. Vladimir told him strictly not to use any ecto-weapons. He remembered that far too late.

"What did I say, Vlad?" Danny asked rhetorically, chuckling in amusement. Green electricity flowed through him, and his haunting blue eyes met Vlad's. "Accidents. Happen," he added. "Wolf! Cujo!" He ordered. "To me!"

Two black vortex's appeared on Daniel's left and right sides. Wolf and Cujo crawled out of them, and Vlad narrowed his eyes at the teen's tactic. Daniel's posture was straighter than ever before and he placed his other hand on his waist.

The teenager looked like a commanding lieutenant of an army.

"Don't look so glum, chum," Daniel muttered, walking over to collect his severed hand. He held it a few inches above where he was almost bleeding out. "You had friends to help you; I only wanted to even the odds," he added, and in a few seconds it was refused to his arm.

He looked over at the older halfa with a smirk, "There's no way you're turning Danny into me," Daniel stated with a resolve that made shivers go down Vlad's back.

The teenager took a few steps, "And if I have to kill myself in the process to stop you…" He trailed and he shrugged uncaringly. Once again he placed his hands in his pockets. Plasmius barely had time to put up an ecto-shield before Cujo and Wolf were attacking him mercilessly.

"Well, then I don't care," Daniel finished lazily, no emotion in his voice at the thought of dying for his cause.

From the transparent ecto-energy shielding him, Plasmius could see that Daniel wasn't just half-dead. He was dead on the inside as well. The older halfa wondered just what kind of future his little badger came from to turn him into this type of thing.

"That is enough," Vladimir called from beside the teenager suddenly.

Daniel barely had any time to take in that his biggest enemy was beside him. Without giving the teen a second more to realize what was happening, Vladimir quickly snatched onto his arm that was symbol free. The teen let out a growl and tried to force his arm away from him.

"It appears as though my past self is still not diligent enough to take on my apprentice," Vladimir commented before black ecto-energy shot out of the man's hand and onto the teen's arm. Daniel let out a hiss of pain at what was happening as he fell to his knees.

"Honestly, Daniel, you are becoming a pest," Vladimir scoffed, dropping the teen's arm as he started to walk towards his own past self. The moment the teen's arm was dropped, Cujo and Wolf had disappeared in a torrent of black smoke.

Vlad slowly took down his ecto-shield and watched as the teenager held his wrist with agony, his eyes shifting from blue to a bright green before a murderous black. Finally, they switched back to blue when he blinked slowly to overcome the pain that he was feeling. "I seemed to have forgotten a most crucial detail-!" Vlad began to explain before Vladimir held a hand up to silence him.

"He is quick and manipulative," Vladimir stated with affection booming in his voice. "Not to mention those pesky flea bag familiars of his aren't weak." The future older halfa turned around to observe what his apprentice was currently doing. He wasn't very surprised to see him on his feet, slowly standing up. "I don't blame you, Vlad," he spoke out, looking back at his past self.

Daniel let out a frustrated growl before he flicked his wrist. In seconds, sixteen black spikes made out of condensed ecto-plasm appeared. In the other hand, a black sword appeared out of the same ecto-plasm. Without warning, the teen teleported towards the two Vlad's.

Vladimir didn't even look at Daniel when the man suddenly grabbed empty air beside him with a tight grip. Daniel appeared in mid-teleport before he let out a pained gasp as all traces of his attack suddenly turned to black smoke.

"I do, however…" Vladimir trailed, glancing over to his apprentice slowly, "Blame you," he stated darkly with a cold tone.

"The feeling is mutual," Daniel grumbled out, trying to pry his wrist from the older halfa's grasp.

Vladimir let out a dramatic sigh as he started to walk away, Daniel in tow. "Despite how exciting this all was, Daniel and I must be getting back to our own time period," he announced, making Daniel let out another growl. "I must discipline him accordingly. This must never happen again."

Daniel started to claw at the man's hand holding him captive, "Don't get pissed because you wasted time on your precious asset," the teenager hissed out. Vladimir looked at him with a glare, "You should be glad, Vlad."

"And why is that?" Vladimir inquired, humoring the teenager for only a split second before he was about to use the power he stole from Clockwork to bring them back to their own time.

"I took a page out of your book; I decided to form my own asset," Daniel said, equally as dark and cold as the older halfa was before.

Danny appeared overhead with a number of ghosts following him. They ranged from his enemies, to his allies. The ones that were leading the charge were the Far Frozen members.

Vladimir looked back at Daniel with a steady glare, "So it seems you have," the older halfa observed before he had to let go of his apprentice to form a black ecto-shield to block a torrent of ice.

"You okay?" Danny asked, landing next to his future self.

"For now," Daniel answered, standing up. "Let's take care of him, Danny," he ordered, holding his hand out as a green ecto-blast appeared on his raised hand. He clenched it, and a condensed sword made of ecto-plasm formed. "Just like we practiced," he muttered before running towards his version of Vlad.

Danny nodded and followed his future self's form as a green ecto-sword appeared in his hand as well.

Vlad watched what was happening with an amused raised eyebrow. Daniel had the potential to wield black ecto-plasm, yet in front of his Daniel, he used green.

He understood that Danny had a problem with turning evil, and black ecto-plasm was the most lethal ecto-plasm all throughout the Ghost Zone.

Smart boy.

Even more so, the fight between Daniel and Vladimir was truly something that was amusing for Vlad. They were quick, so quick that the halfa had problems trying to watch the fight. In an instant they were in the air, in another they were on the ground.

"Green ecto-plasm, Daniel?" Vladimir drawled out before rolling his eyes. "Don't tell me that past self of yours had been making you weak."

In one fell swoop, Vladimir knocked the sixteen year olds ecto-weapon from his hands and pointed his own black ecto-weapon at his throat. Taking a few seconds to process what was happening, Daniel greedily took in a few breaths before letting out a lifeless chuckle.

"Thought I'd at least try to keep up appearances," Daniel muttered, side glancing down at the ground to where the past versions of themselves were fighting. He looked back at his arch enemy and grinned comically over at Vladimir. "I happen to like the color green – matches my eyes."

"I much prefer to see those black eyes of yours," Vladimir commented, lowering his ecto-weapon to his side. Daniel immediately tensed up and lost all trace of humor. Whenever his black eyes were mentioned, he wasn't in a very good mood. "I saw them when I placed the spell binding on your arm. Why don't you fight me with your pure ghost form, Daniel? I'd imagine it would put on quite a show."

Daniel placed a hand out to his side and reformed his green ecto-weapon.

"One of these days you will release your full potential. And when that day comes, humankind will mean nothing to you. You will be one step closer to becoming me."

Charging at Vladimir, the older hybrid blocked it effortlessly. "If I do that, then Danny will never trust me again. I can't risk that – not when I'm fighting against you."

Vladimir let out a chuckle of his own, it was filled with mirth and cockiness. "If that's all it takes to get us home, I have no problem pushing you to your breaking point," he muttered, swinging at Daniel, who barely had time to block it. "The boy won't trust you and you'll be forced back to your timeline."

"You're seriously a huge pain in my ass…" Daniel trailed, keeping his anger at bay.

So long as he could keep the bloodlust down, then his plan was going to prevail.
