A/N-Sorry for not being to post this on my birthday. As you know the site has not been friendly lately.

Olivia was in the birthing room relaxing. She wouldn't use the word enjoying, but it was as close as it came to describe the final moments before she would be pushing their baby out. No matter what the sex of the baby she had already decided that in a couple of years she wanted one more baby.

The bets were in. If it went base on how she carried the baby then she was having a boy, and her gut told her it was a boy. The pregnancy was easy for the most part. No real problems, and to her that pointed to it being a boy just like his dad.

She had been in labor for eight hours, and it hadn't been hard labor thus far just uncomfortable. Being friends with Kerry had brought her nothing but blessings, but the biggest thing was that she learned to really live and enjoy the moments.

She had decided on a water birth after hearing her experience when she had her daughter. She had hired a doula for birth and post-partum care as well as a mid-wife.

It was one of the best decisions that she had made.

She looked over at her husband who was taking a cat nap before her labor intensified. He was truly her ride or die partner. From the moment he rescued her he had never let her down, and whenever she thought that she couldn't love him any more or that nothing he could do would surprise her at this point she was wrong.

She couldn't and wouldn't compare her situation and Melissa's. Domestic violence was bad end of story, but she was grateful that kids were not involved. Her pain was enough, and she felt horrible that the kids suffered too.

As she looked at her husband she was reminded of the lengths that he was willing to go through not just to protect her and their family, but anything that was important to them.

Flashback

Melissa's husband was beginning to unravel. Huck was having a good time leading him on a wild goose chase that left him empty handed. His work was suffering for two reasons. He was spending so much time trying to find his wife and children, and without them he had nothing new to bring to the table. He knew time was running out. His bosses were losing their patience, and they weren't the only ones.

They used that time to also investigate General Electric, and they determined that they were not complicit with Chris. They had no idea that he was using his family. When they received that information, Fitz went to Olivia with a new game plan. She was going to tell them later what Chris was doing, but Fitz thought it was better they knew now. It would work to their advantage, because as soon as Chris knew Melissa hired them he would try to cover his tracks. Fitz also didn't want them to fire him, because he would become even more irrational. He might not be able to hurt Melissa and the kids, but that left everyone else fair game. He was quickly learning that people didn't mind killing for the sake of killing, and he didn't want any more blood than necessary on their hands.

To his surprise Olivia left everything up to him. She trusted her husband and their team. She continued to spend time with the kids. She was also spending a lot of time with Kerry. They were either swimming, doing yoga, play date with the kids, or working in the community. Kerry was one of the participates in the #TIMESUP initiative. Olivia quickly volunteered not only her time, but money.

With Olivia's due date quickly approaching he wanted to make sure that Chris remained in line while Olivia was on maternity leave. They were also going to move into phase two with Melissa. They were going to move them to California, and began to integrate them back into real world so when the time came she wouldn't be overwhelmed.

The meeting with GE went well. As expected the company was shocked. Chris wasn't a stupid man, and he was a good business man. He probably would be a good executive for another company, but GE was known for its innovations. The job required more than someone with business acumen.

When the CEO asked if they knew where he was getting the ideas from they were surprised when Fitz was forthcoming enough to say he knew, but he wasn't ready to release that detail.

The CEO knew they needed that person on their team, and he also knew that even though they had nothing to do with Chris's decisions to steal someone else's ideas the public wouldn't view it that way.

It took Fitz no time to strike up a deal to represent the firm when the information was released on Chris. Part of the deal is that John Doe aka Melissa would be hired by the company in a job to be determined by both parties.

In truth that was the easy part. Chris was a piece of work. He had spoken with everyone at the Washington office when they told him they couldn't take his case. It was something they bet would happen. Olivia told them he would demand to speak to her or Fitz. She knew he would say either one of them, but emphasize that he rather speak with Fitz. What he didn't know was that was the plan all along.

Fitz flew to D.C., and took the kids with him to allow Olivia a break. Fitz & Nnamdi treated them to a spa getaway. They invited a couple more women, and made it a true girl's trip.

Fitz was in his office with the kids when Chris arrived. He purposely wanted him to see him interact with his kids.

Fitz barely acknowledged him for several reasons. He didn't want Chris to feel like he had the upper hand. That he won because he had flown in to meet him.

Fitz looked at Sheldon, "Son, can you take your sister into your mommy's office. Aunt Georgia has your lunch ready. Daddy won't be long, and when I am done we will head to the museum."

"Okay daddy…"

He grabbed Sabrina's hand, and made sure she had her toy and they headed out the office. He could only smile. His children took care of each other. Even though Sabrina was the youngest she was supportive. She was her brother's biggest cheerleader at his games, and he knew she would protect the baby when they arrived.

Once they left he turned to Chris, "Mr. Brown as you can see I am a very busy man."

"I understand. I apologize. I didn't realize until recently that you had more children. I recall seeing you at an event when your wife was pregnant with your daughter. I didn't keep up with the fact that you adopted children."

"Are you saying that because you thought I only had a daughter that I had more time on my hands? So my wife is supposed to do everything?"

"No, that is not what I am implying."

"I would hope not, because my wife is smarter than I will ever be, and even if I was I didn't marry my wife to control her. I married her because I love her. We are partners and equals. Her voice matters to me, and I have no respect for any man who treats a woman less than."

You could hear a pin drop in the room. Fitz was enjoying seeing how uncomfortable he was, and he would have allowed it to go on longer, but he had plans with his children. They were more important.

Fitz finally said, "I want to be clear that I don't normally indulge clients we turn down, but since you continued to call I agreed to this meeting, so my team could work. I also wanted to be clear for future reference should you request us in the future, and we can help you those people out there are not my employees they are my family."

"I am sorry…"

"Don't apologize to me. Apologize to them on the way out the door."

"I will do that."

Fitz asked, "It seems like your wife doesn't want to be found. Why are you so desperate to find her?"

For whatever reason Chris seemed surprised at the question, "I don't want to bore you with the details, but I haven't been the best husband or father. We don't really have family, and I am worried about my wife and children. She hasn't used any of our credit cards. I need an opportunity to make it right."

Fitz nodded knowing she never had access to the credit cards to begin with. As he looked at him he could only think that maybe he missed his calling as an actor. He said, "Again it sounds to me like she doesn't want to be found."

Another weird moment of silence.

He continued, "Normally, I don't take these meetings. My wife and I fully trust our team, because as I explained earlier they are family. I didn't take this meeting for you. I took it for them. They need to get back to work. We have important clients. As much as we want to take on every person that walks through our door we can't. Sometimes we are not a good fit, and in your case, we are unable to take your case due to a conflict of interest."

Chris looked up in shock.

"We were recently hired by the company you work for. As stipulated in the contract until the work is completed we are unable to work with any individual employees or contractors. That is all I am going to tell you. If you would like a referral then you can speak with Abby on the way out the door."

Chris nodded and got up to leave. Fitz called him as he opened the door.

"I am sure there is more to your story, and I won't ask but here is a piece of free advice whether you get back together with your wife or another woman in the future. Women are not property. You as a man are not better than a woman, and let's not pretend that is not how you feel. If that wasn't the case, then you wouldn't have bullied Abby and Georgia. Well tried. Women make the world go around. You are on this earth because of a woman. You are walking around like you are high and mighty thinking that your shit doesn't stink. You believe for the right price you can solve this issue and get it back under control. Well let me tell you every person has their breaking point, and in my opinion, women are a lot more resilient than men. When a woman is fed up then you better watch your back. You find they have the strength of a lion. If you think that you can throw some money and be nice for a minute, and your problems will all go away then you are a bigger fool than you look at this moment. I wish you nothing but the best. I have a feeling that you are going to need it."

End Flashback

Olivia couldn't get over the look on his face. She could tell that Chris knew that he was in trouble. He knew that Fitz knew more than he was willing to say, and there was nothing that he could do about it.

She received a copy of the video before Fitz arrived home courtesy of Huck. Another reason for her to add why he was the best husband ever. He never made her feel bad about taking Melissa's case personally.

He was the one who suggested that she move with the girls to California, and once Melissa agreed to it he made all the arrangements, so Olivia could remain stress free.

She loved that she had a woke man. He didn't just donate to causes or stand beside her and support her. He put in the work. He believed in feminism, and she was blessed to have a husband that would raise their girls believing they could do anything they wanted. Being a woman wasn't a setback. It was who they were and should never be ashamed of it.

She took a deep breath as another contraction hit. Fitz jumped up and looked at his wife, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to fall asleep."

Olivia laughed, "Don't worry. It was just another small contraction. I think he is going to be in there for a couple more hours."

"You said he again…"

"Yep, I am convinced that he is you. At least personality wise. He is enjoying a few more moments of quiet in there alone before he must join the loud world. He is patient like you. Despite how hectic the pregnancy began it has been smooth sailing. This is your son."

Fitz could only laugh at his wife. Things remained quiet for a little while longer before her labor began to progress.

Overall it was a calm labor just long, and after sixteen long hours they had a healthy baby boy as Olivia predicted.

He was quiet until the midwife cleared his lungs, and he only cried long enough assure everyone that he was fine.

He snuggled up to his mom when she breastfed him for the first time.

Olivia looked at her husband. Both had tears in their eyes, "I told you it was a boy."

"He is the perfect blend of us."

"He is. Ready to show him to the kids. Since we are going home in the morning they will just get to physically see him then."

Olivia nodded.

Fitz grabbed his iPad and called Sam's phone. When she answered all three kids were smiling at their parents. It was clear they had been waiting on the call.

Everyone was excited to meet the new addition.

All three of them were in awe of their new baby brother. Sheldon didn't say much, and Fitz had told Olivia before the baby was born that if it was a boy he felt that Sheldon would get that newfound fear that he would be left behind.

It was nothing that he would be able to tell him. He would just have to show him that he now had two sons, and that having a biological son wouldn't change anything for them.

Sam asked, "What did you decide to name him?"

Olivia smiled, "Well since you two came into our lives and your names started with an S, and we have Sabrina we thought we would keep the tradition going. Say hello to Stefon Thomas Grant."

They all instantly fell in love with the name, and their little brother especially Sabrina. She was in love with the fact that she was now a big sister.

Stefon was a welcomed addition to the family. As Olivia predicted he was calm like his dad. He only cried when he needed something or wanted some attention. Sabrina embraced her role as big sister, and Sheldon quickly learned that he was not going to be replaced by his little brother. His parents still treated him the same. Stefon was obviously getting more attention, but it was only because he was a baby.

Before everyone knew it eight weeks had passed. Melissa and the girls had adapted to life in California. They were seeing a therapist and going to school. They were at the house just about every day and had grown close to the family.

Once Stefon turned a month-old Olivia began to work on the next stage of Melissa case so they could implement it soon. It was a welcome break from being a full-time mom. She cherished the time she was spending with her family, and she promised herself that when she went back to work she would take those time outs that she saw Kerry take. Where she would step away from the public and spend quality time with her family and herself to recharge. Something she was doing now because she had recently had her second child as well. Ironically it was a little boy she named Caleb.

They laughed the first time they introduced the boys. They put them in the play pen together, and they literally cuddled together like twins. It was clear that a bond had been formed.

Stefon was now three months. Olivia was back to working part-time, but mostly from home. It was the weekend. Fitz had taken the boys for the day, and Sabrina was spending the weekend with her sister.

Sam had stopped by to pick up Melissa's daughters, so they could hang out with them for the day. That left Olivia and Melissa. After getting some work done she decided to pamper herself and treat Melissa as well.

They decided to have breakfast first.

Shortly after sitting down and getting their drinks Melissa looks at Olivia, "It's time to implement your plan. I am ready and so are the girls. I am ready to put the past behind me and start a new chapter. My children deserve that, and that can't be done until we deal with Chris finally. I am not afraid of him anymore. It is time that I take my power back."

"I can do that. Have you decided where you want to live when this is over?"

"I want to stay here. The girls and I feel like it is a fresh start. I like the weather and hopefully GE will let me work at their plant here, but if not, there are plenty of options for me. I have enjoyed volunteering with your organization, and I want to continue to give back after all you and your teams have done for us."

"That is all the thanks that I need."

The next morning Olivia placed a call to one of the top divorce attorneys they kept on retainer. She left her credit card information and told her that whatever was needed to get Melissa and the children safely out of this marriage she was personally paying for.

Two weeks later Chris was served during a business luncheon. He was livid. Not just because she had served him with divorce papers, but he still had no clue where his wife and girls were.

Once he sat down with his lawyers he was surprised when his wife didn't include a list of demands. The only thing she was asking for was full custody of the kids, and she didn't want Chris to see the girls even supervised.

Chris thought that was his way in. He knew his wife didn't have access to their money, so his lawyer was going to be no matched to hers.

When they showed up to court he was disappointed to not see his wife or girls in court. When he sat down he looked at the lawyer he noticed that she was dressed in a designer pant suit. His stomach was beginning to turn. He had a feeling that things weren't looking up for him, and he would be right.

He had chosen to appear in court today, but he hadn't read the email his lawyer sent him where the family court judge had excused Melissa from having to attend this hearing for safety reasons.

It became clear quickly that Melissa had a high-powered divorce attorney on her side, and she came well prepared.

The judge saw pictures of how Melissa looked when she left the home. There were signed affidavits swearing to the pictures of Melissa as well as her mental and emotional conditions. Everyone was willing to appear and testify under oath.

The bulk of the hearing was regarding Melissa's request that Chris be denied access to the girls. Both girls' therapist appeared in court and testified to their mental health. They explained that while both had made tremendous progress they felt that being put in the same room with their father even if it was supervised would be traumatic.

The judge took a recess to speak to the children in his private chambers via video chat. Once he was done he made his ruling in favor of Melissa. She would retain full custody of the girls, and she was granted a restraining order for her and the girls. He was not allowed to have any contact with them.

Chris was furious. He appealed and lost, and Melissa still had made no demands when it came to their assets. His work continued to slip, but luckily, he had an understanding boss.

After almost two months of back and forth between the lawyers Chris was finally getting what he wanted. A meeting with his wife. The meeting was taking place at her lawyer's office. He was taken back to the conference room, and when the door opened he was shocked.

Sitting down beside his wife's lawyer was not his wife, but no other than the famous Olivia Pope Grant. Suddenly, he became nervous. One thing became perfectly clear. She was the silent partner although she would never admit to it he thought. She was paying for this party, and if his thoughts were true then he was a shit hole worth of trouble.

Chris finally found his voice, "What is going on? I thought we were here to discuss my wife's financial demands?"

Olivia smiled at him, "Oh we are."

"Then what are you doing here?"

"I am here on behalf of my clients…"

That is when it sunk in. He was right. She was paying the bills.

"You are the reason she can afford a high-powered attorney."

"I know it much be disappointing that once again you weren't able to roll all over her. What must suck even more is that you haven't been able to find her."

He looked at her in shock, "She left. Why would I be looking for her?"

"Oh, the list is long, but I hear that your job has been suffering at work."

Chris wasn't sure what to say. How did she know his work was suffering? He didn't discuss that with his lawyer, and he hadn't spoken to his wife.

Before he had a chance to think of a come back the door open. There stood shock number two. In walked his boss, and several of the higher-ups including the CEO.

They all walked across the room and sat beside Olivia. It took a moment for it to register, but then it hit him. When he had spoken with Fitz he told him that he couldn't take him on as a client, because his company had hired him. He was still confused what that had to do with him.

He looked at the smug look on Olivia's face. He wanted to wipe it off, but right now she had the upper hand and he was still clueless what his job had to do with his divorce.

He looked at his boss, "Sir, not that I am being rude, but what are you doing here?"

Olivia stood up, "I can answer that for you."

She passed a couple of folders over to his lawyer for them to review.

It was quiet as a mouse for several minutes while they reviewed the documents, and it was clear when it registered what was going on.

"You are firing me, and if I don't find a way to have an amicable divorce that stays out the media then you plan on pressing charges."

Olivia nodded, "See I told them you weren't stupid just dumb."

He jumped up, "Excuse me."

"You heard me. You don't rule shit anymore so be careful when you jump, because I assure you I have no problem knocking your ass down a peg or two so sit-down Mr. Brown."

Everyone was stunned as they watched and listened to Olivia. He felt like he had no choice but to sit down especially with the head of the company there.

His lawyer finally asked the million-dollar question, "What does his divorce have to do with his job?"

"I am glad that you asked that. 99% of the time the answer would be nothing, but when Mr. Brown here used his wife and stole her ideas and passed them off as his own well it means a lot especially to my clients. Now that Melissa has filed for divorce the real reason that you client's work has suffered is not because she left him, but she left him with nothing. He might hold all the assets in his name, so he thinks, but she has the real power. Melissa as well as their children is what made Mr. Brown here all that money he is hoarding from his family."

His lawyer turned and looked at him. He wouldn't make eye contact, but the lawyer could tell by his body language that Olivia was telling the truth. Besides he knew enough about Olivia Pope Grant to know she never came to the table without proof.

The lawyer decided to ask for Chris's sake, "What happens if my client doesn't play ball?"

"Then I go nuclear. Either way my clients are going to be okay. The only question is how much your client wants me to ruin him. See if he cooperates and makes this easy on Melissa and GE then they are not only willing to not press charges, but they are willing to give him a nice severance package."

Chris thought about it for a second. There had to be some way out of this. Then he smiled and looked up, "There is no way you can prove this."

Olivia said nothing for a moment but looked at him. Chris got this smug look on his face thinking that he had finally won. Before he had a chance to say another word the door opened.

"They can't prove it, but I can…"

He turned around and saw the woman he had been searching for. Except she didn't look anything like the woman he saw almost a year ago. He didn't know what to think.

"Melissa…."

A/N-I am sorry for not being able to post on a regular basis. For those of you who are a part of the Facebook group then you know I fell and hurt my hand and wrist. It is not healing properly. The doctor recently confirmed that I have nerve damage. It causes my fingers to go numb, so it makes it hard for me to write and type. I was told to rest it. I can use it now, but the pain and numbness are still there. If it heals on its own I am still a month out. If not well not sure how longer additional treatment will take to heal me. Until then the updates will be slow, because it is my dominant and writing hand. Please be patient with me.
