I'm sorry I took so long again. Now that I started work and class, I'm having less time to write new chapters. I always end up getting tired and sleepy. I go to class in the morning, and I go to work from the evening to midnight. I have little strength to write new chapters.
I thank you all for being patient for me to update a new chapter. Enjoy.
Chapter 19: Con Job
"I understand, Agent Fowler. The kids are already been informed." Optimus said as he looked back at the kids who all had sad look on their faces before hanging up. "I am sorry that your parents won't be moving to Jasper." He said sincere.
"It's okay, Optimus. We understand." Mikaela spoke sadly, but had a smile on her face, including Miles.
"Yeah, it's all good."
The next day after the incident in Tranquility, Agent Fowler had called Optimus about the arrangement for the two additional humans. The news they got sadden everyone, minus Ratchet, who was eager to get rid of the new humans. Agent Fowler had told them that their father had accepted the job in Washington and were planning on telling them once they got back from the mall. And according to regulation, which was added when Jack, Miko and Rafael joined, the two kids can't stay with the Autobots without a parent living in Jasper. So Mikaela and Miles will be returning once the GroundBridge is fully repaired.
"Miles is right. Just because we won't be living in Jasper, doesn't mean we won't see each other anymore. We can still visit whenever we have time to hang out." Mikaela said, hoping she could cheer up the others.
"Yeah, she's right. They can still visit whenever they have time!" Sam cried out happily. He was glad that he can still keep his two friends and have them join the Autobot crew.
"Alright! Then let's all go dune-bashing!"
"I don't know, Miko. Last time when I took Sam dune-bashing, I spent a week picking sand out of my articulators. Uh, but, there's a monster truck rally in town. Why don't we all go there?" Bulkhead suggested.
"Well, that's gonna have to wait, because I'm receiving a signal on a restricted band. It appears to be coming from a starship inside the solar system." Ratchet informs everyone as he tries to detect the signal whether it's friendly or not. "It's an Autobot Identification Beacon." Ratchet said in surprise.
"So there are other 'Bots out there?"
"The masses scattered to the galaxies when Cybertron finally went dark, but 'Cons have been known to bait traps with false beacon."
Now that Arcee mentioned it, the Autobots are becoming wary of the new signal, for it might be a false signal to lure the Autobots out of their hiding place. To make sure, Optimus opened a communication link between them. "Unknown vessel, this is Autobot Outpost Omega One. Identify yourself."
There was a few seconds of static until the newcomer replied back. "I've had warmer welcomes from the Decepticons combat brigades." The stranger joked.
"Wheeljack?!" Bulkhead has a huge grin on his face as he stepped forward to the monitor. "You old 'Con crusher! What are you doing all the way here?"
"Bulkhead? That you? What's with all the security?"
"The rock we're on is crawling with 'Cons. How soon can you get here and even the odds?"
"Sometime tomorrow if I put the metal to the pedal."
"Another 'Bot's coming here. How cool is that!" Miko whispered to the others excitedly.
"Wheeljack - I know of him by reputation only. Can you verify his voiceprint?" Optimus was still unsure if this is one of the Decepticon trap, using one of the Autobot's voiceprint to fool them.
"He is 1,000% the real deal, Optimus." Bulkhead confirmed with confident
"We will send landing coordinates, Wheeljack. Safe journey."
"See you soon, buddy. I'll make sure you get the proper welcome." He says before they hung up.
"So, who's the boyfriend?" Arcee teased playfully.
Bulkhead laughed at the comment. "Me and Jackie go way back. We were part of the same war unit, the Wreckers, which means the 'Cons are gonna wish he never found us."
Unbeknownst to the Autobots, Soundwave had intercepted the conversation and is replaying everything to Starscream.
"A war hero, hmm?" He pondered out loud as he stares at the image on Soundwave's visor of the owner of the new Autobot. "We haven't much time. Makeshift!"
Makeshift arrived at the deck, only showing a silhouette form from afar. Soundwave launched one of his tentacles and attached itself onto Makeshift as it begins to transfer data to Makeshift. As it does that, Makeshift whole body began to transform into the date Soundwave downloaded and had it transfer to him.
Starscream chuckled as soon as the transformation is finished. "I, too, know how to prepare a proper welcome."
"Wheeljack's ship is approaching the landing zone." Arcee announced as everyone kept their eyes on the monitor.
"You think he's here to visit?"
"Maybe he'll stay! Hm. Have to find his own human, though."
"Why don't I be his human?" Mikaela piped in. "I really hate being the third wheel."
"Aw, don't go. You were never the third wheel." Miko whined.
"GroundBridge cycling up." Ratchet said as he powered up the GroundBridge. He jumped in surprise when sparks flew. He slammed his fist on the control to get it kicking again. "Blasted Scraplets. Equipment hasn't been the same since the infestation."
"So, Wheeljack 's gonna land halfway around the world and then you'll bridge him here?" Jack asked in confusion.
"We can't risk revealing the location of our base, just in case the Decepticons are tracking Wheeljack's ship." Optimus replied, watching Sam as he ran up to Bulkhead who was pacing back in forth.
"Looks like someone nervous." Sam teased at Bulkhead.
Bulkhead smiled happily at Sam. "Are you kidding me? It's been so long since I last seen him. And tonight we are gonna party!"
"Sweet! I'll make some food for the party!" Sam announced as he began to run to his room.
"But, Sam. We 'Bots don't eat."
"The food is not for you guys, Bulk. It's for us humans." Sam yelled as he disappeared down the hallway.
As soon as he left, the alarm blared. Arcee looked at the monitor where they were keeping an eye at Wheeljack's signal and saw at least six red signals tailing after Wheeljack.
"Bogies closing fast on Wheeljack's position."
"'Con scum!" Bulkhead growled angrily.
Wheeljack's ship moved left and right, avoiding the attack from the Decepticons. But one managed to hit the ship and it plummeted on the sands of Egypt. The Vehicons transformed and landed few yards away from the crash site. They aimed their weapons at the smoke and dust that shielded the ship from their view. As they cautiosly moved forward, one of the Vehicon got shot down.
Wheeljack emerges from the wreckage with his blaster out. "If you're trying to ruin my day... You're gonna have to try harder." He taunts them as he slid on his battle mask and starts smashing the tar out of them.
From the warship, Starscream watches the fight through surveillance feed. "Swiftly, before the Autobots arrive." He turns to Soundwave.
Bumblebee, Arcee and Bulkhead are waiting for the GroundBridge to open while Bulkhead is becoming impatience.
"Open the bridge, Ratchet! We're missing all the action!"
Ratchet pulls the lever down and then turn to face them "I'll prepare sickbay."
Bulkhead laughed. "Who for? The 'Cons? This is Wheeljack we're talking about." Bulkhead rushed through the GroundBridge, eager to see his long-time friend.
As the three 'Bots arrive the Wheeljack's coordinates, they arrived just in time to see Wheeljack finish off the last Decepticon by running his sword through him.
Bulkhead chuckled as he saw this. "I taught him that." He stated proudly.
"Ever think I might need a hand here?" Wheeljack asked playfully as he sheathe his twin swords on his back.
"What, and spoil the show?"
"You missed one." Arcee pointed at the Vehicon that's getting up.
Without sparing a glance, Wheeljack shot the 'Con as he made his way to the Autobots. He inspects the two as he withdrew his mask. "If this is all you got, planet's in bigger trouble than I thought."
"Jackie!" Unable to contain his happiness, Bulkhead rushed to Wheeljack and lift him up to give him a crushing hug and laughed happily.
Wheeljack chuckled at Bulkhead's action. "Watch the finish, you old wrecking ball."
After the small reunion, the four Autobots return to the base, just in time before the GroundBridge broke down again and the bridge closed by itself as a result. Ratchet let out a frustrated sigh as he began to repair the GroundBridge again, for the fifth time this week.
"Jackie, come here. Meet my other best buddies, Miko and Mikaela." Bulkhead gestures the two girls to come forward. "They can wreck with the best of us."
"Hiya!" The two girls waved at Wheeljack.
"You girls keeping Bulkhead out of trouble?"
"We try, but trouble finds us anyway." Miko replied with a grin.
Wheeljack laughed at her answer. "We're gonna get along just fine." When he heard heave footsteps heading his way, he stood tall as he approached Optimus. "Optimus Prime, it's a privilege."
"Likewise, soldier. What have you to report from your long journey?"
"Been bouncing around from rock to rock, searching for signs of friend or foe. Now I find both."
"We are few, but strong. We have suffered losses... But we have grown. And we would relish welcoming a new member into our fold."
Wheeljack smiled. "I would be honored."
"Then let's get this party started!" Bulkhead yelled out in excitement as he slapped hard on Wheeljack's back, causing him to stumble forward from such force. Then the two chest bump each other.
"Oh, joy." Ratchet groan sarcastically.
"The moment Makeshift passed through that GroundBridge, we lost track of his tracking signal. The Autobot base is no doubt heavily shielded to prevent us from locating it." Starscream informs Soundwave as they walked down the corridor to a holding cell. "Ah, no matter. I have complete faith in Makeshift." The door to the cell opens and the two walked inside to pay a visit to their prisoner – the real Wheeljack, all banged up and hanging from the ceiling. "Our inside man is already inside." Starscream informs Wheeljack.
"Tell Megatron he's fragged in the head if he thinks Bulkhead won't sniff out an impostor."
"Haven't you heard? I lead the Decepticons now."
"You!? Ha!"
Starscream snarled angrily at Wheeljack and was about to finish him off, but Soundwave grabbed his arm to stop his attack. He yanked his arm off of Soundwave's hold and snarled. "Yes! Yes, he may yet be of use. Makeshift is very good at keeping up appearances. He need only fool your friends long enough to open their GroundBridge from within so that I may finally learn the location of the Autobot base and send in my strike team to stain its floor with the spilled Energon of Optimus Prime."
"Come one, Jackie. Show me what you got." Bulkhead challenged as Wheeljack threw a large, heavy ball of metal at Bulkhead and caught it. "Nice lob." He passed the ball right back to Wheeljack with force. He then passed it right back to Bulkhead.
"So, what's that about?" Miles asked as he, Jack and Arcee watches the two Wreckers play.
"It's called lobbing, the favorite pastime on Cybertron, especially among the warrior class."
"Speaking of lobbing, where's Sam? I thought he would be eager to meet Wheeljack." Jack asked as he looked around for his friend.
"He'll be out in the minute. Said he need to put in the finishing touch." Miles replied. "And by the way, where's Optimus?"
"Went for a drive. Primes don't party."
"Coming at ya!" Bulkhead threw the ball at Wheeljack, but it went pass his fingers overhead. It hit on the wall, then crahsed on top of the GroundBridge control.
Ratchet dodged it just as it was about to hit him. "You know, I am attempting to perform sensitive calibrations here!" He scolds at them as he went back to work on the GroundBridge.
"Sorry, Doc. Guess we're a little charged up." Wheeljack apologized as he picked up the ball and beginning to walk back to his previous spot, but stopped right behind Ratchet. "You built this bridge form scratch, huh?" He asked, sounding slightly impressed.
"I did."
"That's quite a feat of engineering."
"Yes, it is." Ratchet stood up straight and smiled, his ego increasing from Wheeljack complimenting about his work.
"Something wrong with it?"
"I didn't care for the way it sounded this last jump. I put it in shutdown."
"What if you need to use it?"
"Ohh, I can't disrupt the defrag process without causing irreparable damage."
"So, uh, how long will the defrag take?"
"A few hours, if we're lucky. M-maybe longer."
Wheeljack left Ratchet alone and went back to play some more lobbing with Bulkhead. He was disappointed from the results he's gotten. Wheeljack, or Makeshift, was suppose to open the GroundBridge so that the Decepticons could invade the Autobot's base and attack. But it seems it's taking a bit longer to do so, and doesn't knows how long he'll last in this place. His disguise may be flawless, but he can't fool the Autobots forever. One of them will eventually catch on.
"Sorry I'm late, everyone!" A small voice interrupted Makeshift's thought as he saw another human coming in with a utility cart filled with foods. "I would've gotten here sooner, but some lazy-bums were just lazy to help me set up." Sam glared at the two teenage boys who are looking somewhere else other than Sam. "But no matter. I made this feast just for us humans to celebrate to our newest member of the team. So, where is our man of the hour?"
"I'm right here, kid." Wheeljack waved at Sam as he walked towards him.
Sam's smile grew big as he ran up the platform to greet him. "It's nice to finally meet you, Wheeljack. I'm Sam Witwicky. I'm Bulkhead's nephew."
"Nephew, huh? You never told me you have a nephew, Bulk."
"Actually, we took him in when his parents were attacked by the Decepticons. Neither of them survived." Bulkhead stated sadly.
To keep his appearance, the fake Wheeljack slammed his fist to the palm of his hand in anger. "Those 'Cons are gonna pay for doing that to my bud's nephew."
Bulkhead smiled and slapped him on the back again. "You got that right. We're gonna teach them not to mess with us Wreckers."
Sam smiled, feeling happy that he's got a great family and friends. "Alright, enough talk. I'm starving!" Sam rushed down to join with the others that have already started putting foods on their plates. He grabbed his food and joined with the others on the dining table that he just put there. "Here's to honor our newest member of Team Prime, Wheeljack! Cheers!"
"Cheers!" Everyone raised up their glass of juice and began feasting on their food.
Sam drank his juice, but spit it out when he tasted something awful. Luckily, the spill didn't landed on anybody. "And why does this taste wonky!?"
"Because that's the glass where you've been keeping the dish soap." Ratchet replied nonchalantly without having to look away from his work.
There was a loud bang on the table and everyone laughed when Sam's head fell on the table, his tongue out and making some crying noises. Jack looked away, doesn't know whether to laugh at Sam's dismay or feel embarrassed for his cute idiocy. But he laughed anyway.
After everyone has finished eating and talking and clearing the table, they all sat down to listen Bulkhead's stories about him and Wheeljack of their battles they took part of back on Cybertron.
"So there we were - No communications, low on Energon, surrounded by 'Cons. So, what does Wheeljack do?" He looked at the excited humans before looking at Wheeljack. "Tell them, Jackie."
The fake Wheeljack was hesitant at first, but replied shortly. "Well... What I do best." He gave a thumbs up at the children.
"He chucks his only grenade smack into the primary heat exchanger."
"Yeah, seemed like a good idea at the time."
"The joint went supernova!"
"Awesome!" Sam smiled big, hearing another exciting story from Bulkhead as he grabs Miles' and Jack's arm in a painful grasp from the excitement.
"Yeah, I'm still picking shrapnel out of my backside." Bulkhead said as he began scratching his backside.
"I'm not surprise, given the size of your backside." Arcee remarked teasingly as Bumblebee let out a laugh.
Wheeljack's optics landed on Ratchet, who is still continuing on fixing the GroundBridge. By the looks of things, the GroundBridge is almost finish. And once he's finished, Makeshift will open the GroundBridge for the Decepticons.
"There it is, Jackie's signature - One grenade, one shot. Hey, you all right?" Bulkhead asked worriedly as he wave his hand in front of Wheeljack's view.
Wheeljack snapped out of his daze and looked at Bulkhead with a confused look. "What?"
"You don't look like yourself."
"Well, what do you mean?"
"I don't know. You seem quiet."
"Aw, I've been stuck in a can too long. I should go topside before I get stir-crazy." Wheeljack said, hoping he could learn the location of the base instead of having to wait for the GroundBridge to be fixed.
"I have patrol in the morning. You can come with."
"Let's go now." He said in a hurry.
"And break up the party? Come on! The gang's loving you! You got to tell them about the battle of Darkmount Pass!"
"You tell them. You're better at it. How about if Sammy here shows me the rest of your base?"
"Well, yeah, sure, Jackie. Hey, go ahead." Bulkhead said, sounding a bit disappointed.
Sam smiled at this and motioned Wheeljack to follow him. "Tour starts now. Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times. Autobot Outpost Omega One is not responsible for any injures." He joked as the two went to the corridor.
Arcee and Bumblebee looked at each other before looking back at Bulkhead with worry. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, just... out of sorts, I guess."
"Don't tell me you're jealous." Arcee slightly teased him.
"That Sammy's paying more attention to Wheeljack? Come on." He looked back at the hallway that Sam left with Wheeljack with suspicion. "Something... Something's just not right about Wheeljack."
"Bulkhead, really? He's traveled galaxies. You haven't seen him for centuries. He could just be rocket-lagged or... Well, bots do change, you know?"
"Not Jackie."
At the Decepticon warship, the real Wheeljack begins to struggle, trying to get out from his confinements. His grunts of determination and occasional frustration were heard by the Decepticon guarding him. He walked up to Wheeljack and held his blaster to his face.
"You're not going anywhere, Autobot." He proclaims. When Wheeljack stopped moving, the guard turned went back to his original spot.
Wheeljack grinned and wrapped his legs around the 'Con's neck. The 'Con starting firing randomly out of fear, and Wheeljack used this opportunity to direct the firing to the control panel that's keeping him bound. Once freed, he took down the guard and made his way to the outer hull of the ship.
"So, that's pretty much it. Energon stockpile, power generator, armory - everything you need to blow the joint sky high." Sam finished his tour with Wheeljack.
"Where's this bunker located exactly?"
"If I told you, I'd have to rip out your spark chamber." Sam said menacingly, which surprised Wheeljack. "Just kidding, big guy." Sam laughed at Wheeljack reaction. "It's just outside Jasper, Nevada, though I don't expect that to mean too much to you."
"Can't say it does." He replied with a sinister tone, which Sam didn't picked up. "So, uh, any way out of here besides bridging?"
"Why? You're not planning to leave already, are you?" Sam asked, looking at Wheeljack sadly at the thought of him leaving. He has already grown to like Wheeljack and wants him to stay with him and the Autobots.
"No, just so I can stretch my legs and all. I'm not the kind of person that likes to be cooped up, that's all." Wheeljack smiled in reassurance.
Sam smiled in relief. "Yeah, I get that feeling sometimes. Come on. I'll show you." Wheeljack smiled as he followed Sam back to the control center. When they arrived, all eyes were on the two that entered.
"Hey. What are you guys talking about?" Wheeljack asked.
"I was just telling the guys all about you and me at the Battle of Darkmount Pass."
"That's a heck of a story."
"Yep. Tell it." Bulkhead demanded, his optics glaring at Wheeljack in suspicion.
"How about you tell it after we go off-roading?" Sam suggested
"Sam! Stay out of this!"
Sam was surprised by his sudden outburst. Never in his life have Bulkhead yell at him quite sternly. Something must be up.
"Bulkhead, easy."
"I'm not sure I..."
"Tell it!"
Wheeljack glared at Bulkhead for his stubbornness." Fine. You want to live in the past, Bulkhead?" He looked down at the kids, who are looking up at him with undivided attention as he begins to tell the story. "The Wreckers were trapped between a Decepticon patrol and the smelting pit. The 'Cons were vicious, bearing down on us with everything they had. Me and Bulkhead engaged them enemy, left them for scrap, the I made us a way out using their backsides as stepping-stones to cross the molten metal. Isn't that how it happened?"
"Yeah. That's exactly how it happened." Wheeljack grinned triumphantly. "Except for one little thing." Wheeljack optics went wide when he realized he made an error in the story. "I wasn't there." That got everyone's attention, including Ratchet. "I already left the Wreckers to join up with Optimus, but you wouldn't know that if all you did was access Wheeljack's public-service record."
"Bulkhead, what does that have to do with..." Sam yelp when he was suddenly grabbed by Wheeljack as he made his way to the GroundBridge control.
"Sam!"
"Stay back, or I'll squeeze him into a pulp." Makeshift threaten as he held Sam up, no longer using Wheeljack's voice.
"Wheeljack, what are you doing?" Sam asked as he tries to get out from Makeshift's grasp.
"Decepticon coward! Let the boy go and face me!"
"Don't fret. Plenty of fighting to come."
"Is there a real Wheeljack?" Miles asked frantically.
"Oh, indeed, and I expect Lord Starscream is making sport of him."
At the top of the warship, Starscream is waiting impatiently for the GroundBridge to open so he can send in his troops to invade. "Are you certain we are at the coordinates you supplied to Makeshift?" Soundwave nodded. "Then, what is taking him?"
"Maybe they gave your boy such a hero's welcome, he got the warm and fuzzies and decided to switch sides." The real Wheeljack remarked as he approach them.
"Do you not see that you are vastly outnumbered?"
"I see fellas who might vastly enjoy watching me pound some dents into you."
Starscream growled in anger. "Destroy him!"
The Vehicons began firing at Wheeljack, while he took out his twin swords and charged right at them, deflecting their attack using his swords. Starscream fired his missile at Wheeljack and he dodged it before it hit him. He quickly jumps on a Decepticon and used it as a boost to pounce on Starscream. He looked back at the incoming Vehicons and then spotted an open GroundBridge from behind him, courtesy of Makeshift.
Makeshift's ready to enter the GroundBridge at the Autobot end, when Wheeljack comes flying through it and lands on him, throwing Sam into the air, but Bulkhead managed to catch him before he could hit the floor. He lowered his hand and looked at him with worried and failure that he let a 'Con lay his disgusting hand on his nephew. Sam jumped off of Bulkhead's hand and looked at with a smile, telling him that he's alright.
"I'd shut that hole before the before the stink comes through."
Starscream struggles to get up as he spots the open GroundBridge. "Enter the GroundBridge now!" He screams. The troops began to charge towards the GroundBridge, but it closed before they could enter and Starscream yelled in frustration.
The two Wheeljack took out their swords as they circle each other. Bulkhead pounded his fist together, ready to fight against the one who tried to impersonate his best buddy, but was stopped by Wheeljack, telling him that this fight is his, and the two began to fight. The fight has confused the humans as they couldn't keep up with the two. But in the end, one Wheeljack was knocked down while the other one remain standing.
"That's my Jackie." Bulkhead boasted proudly.
"You, hit the switch." Wheeljack instructed Ratchet, who nodded in response. "It's time to take out the trash. All yours, buddy."
Bulkhead leans down to pick up Makeshift.
The GroundBridge opens again, and Starscream was surprised by it. When he noticed no one is moving, he yelled in anger. "What are you waiting for?! Go!" At the order, the Vehicon troops entered the GroundBridge.
On the other end, Bulkhead spun and threw Makeshift through the GroundBridge. The troops that had entered, retreated when they saw the body heading their way. Starscream didn't had time to move as Makeshift lands on him. Few seconds later, the GroundBridge closes.
"Please tell me that you at least learned the location of their base!"
"Indeed, Lord Starscream. I-it is in a hidden bunker just outside of..." Makeshift didn't have time to finish as Starscream suddenly began to yell and flew off. Makeshift looked down at his waist to see a grenade. "Oh, no!" That was the last word Makeshift said as the grenade blast terminated him and the other troops.
"Makeshift! You fool!"
The next day, the Autobots are having another party, to make up for having one with the fake Wheeljack. While the other kids are dancing to Miko's guitar, Sam is busy chatting up with Wheeljack, getting to know him better. Sam commented that Wheeljack tells stories much better than Bulkhead, resulting of the green 'Bot getting mad at Wheeljack for stealing Sam.
"I can't wait to ride you!" Sam yelled happily.
Hearing that caused everyone to stopped what they are doing and looked at Sam with a surprise look.
Wheeljack chuckled nervously. "What?"
"I said that I can't wait to ride you. I'll be bouncing up and down when I do."
They all must be hearing things. Are they hearing correctly? Is Sam is suggesting he'd do that to Wheeljack? It took a few seconds for Wheeljack to realized that Sam doesn't mean it like that. Sam was not taking about riding on his spike. He meant about driving in his vehicle form. Sad to say, he doesn't have one. He laughed inwardly as he saw everyone looking at Sam with surprise look, each one had their eyes wide, thinking the wrong thing. Except for the kid with glasses. He has that confused look on his face when the boy name Miles has his ears covered. He looked back down at Sam and he could see such innocence in his eyes. How can such an innocent creature talk so dirty?
"Sweetie, do you know what you're talking about?" Mikaela asked, trying not to smile as she found this predicament funny.
Sam looked at her strangely. "Of course I know what I'm talking about. I've done it before. I already ride Bumblebee and Bulkhead," the two said 'Bots choked when hearing Sam say that, "I ride Cliffjumper a lot of times, sometimes Ratchet would let me ride him," the said medic accidentally destroyed one of his equipment, "Arcee..."
"Don't even finish that sentence."
Sam looked at her with confusion. "Um, okay. And Optimus being my guardian, I get to ride him whenever I like. He's huge, as well." That statement caused Optimus' spark to swell in pride.
Realization hit Mikaela, having put two-and-two together. She now knows what Sam is actually talking about. She hates to admit, but she has one dirty mind. "Oh, don't you mean you drove them while they're in their vehicle form?" Everyone looked at Sam, hoping that Mikaela's guess is true.
"Isn't that the same thing that I just said?" Sam still has that confused look on his face. "I mean, that's what I heard from this one guy say to his friend that he rode his boyfriend's, um... I didn't quite heard the last part, but I think it has to do with cars."
"That's not what he meant by that."
"Then what?"
Mikaela opened her mouth, but closed it and shook her heard. "Just forget about it." Mikaela wanted to tell him what was the different meaning of the word, but remembered that Jack told her and Miles not to tell him anything that revolves around sex. The same thing happened with Ratchet as he threatened them not to corrupt Sam with their talk of interfacing. She pity Sam for having overprotective friend and family.
Bulkhead walked up to Wheeljack so he can change the subject. "Now that you're part of Team Prime, we need to pick out a vehicle mode for you. I have some ideas."
"Awesome! When you do get one, I can finally ride you all day long."
"It's drive, Sam, not ride you."
"Same thing, Mikaela."
"Oh, you have no idea how wrong you are."
Wheeljack laughed as he carefully ruffled Sam's hair. "You're so cute, Sammy."
"So can I, Uncle Jackie?"
"Uncle Jackie, huh? It has a nice ring to it. But about that, Sammy. Now that my ship's repaired, I'm itching to know what else I might find out there."
"Wait. You're leaving? Why?" Sam asked sadly, feeling his eyes beginning to water up.
Wheeljack felt bad that he caused Sam to cry. He was about to explain why, but Bulkhead beat him to the punch as he kneel down to comfort Sam.
"Because some 'Bots never change." Bulkhead smiled at Wheeljack with understanding.
"Wheeljack, know that you'll always have a haven here."
"Jackie never stays, but he always comes back." Bulkhead stated as he side-hug Wheeljack and the two fist bump.
The next morning, everyone, minus Optimus and Ratchet, have traveled through the GroundBridge to where the ship is to see Wheeljack off. "There's room for two, Bulk, even with a backside like yours. Who knows who we might find there - some of the old crew?" Wheeljack offered.
Bulkhead looked back to see Jack comforting Sam, who was looking down sadly at the thought of him leaving as well. "Heh. It sounds like fun, Jackie. But my ties are here now with them... With him." Bulkhead replied and looked back to see Sam smiling now.
Wheeljack nodded. He could understand. There is someone on Earth that needs him more than he does. "I'm counting on you to take care of your uncle for me while I'm gone. He can be a handful at some times." He winked playfully at Sam.
"You got that right." Sam took out his phone and gave it to Miko. He ran up to Bulkhead as he placed Sam on his shoulder. "How about a picture of my two favorite Wreckers?"
"You got it. Now, say 'cheese'." Miko held up Sam's phone and took a picture of the three.
Once the picture was taken, Wheeljack took off in his ship. The others watch as the ship disappeared in the sky. Sam smiled as he rested his head on Bulkhead's. "He'll come back, won't he?" He asked Bulkhead.
"You can bet on it, Sammy. Jackie is too strong to be taken down easily."
"But not as strong as you, right, Uncle Bulk?"
"You got that right."
"I can't wait for him to come back with some more Wreckers. We're gonna have loads of fun."
"Me too, Sam. Me too."
Today marks the one year anniversary for this story. A year went very fast, and I only got up to 19 chapters of this story in one year. I should be, like, maybe on chapter 30 or something. I finished this two days ago, but I decided to post this up on the same day that I posted the first chapter of this story.
I thank you all for being with me. You guys are special.
