I tried not to make it too long. I hope it is to your liking.

As always, leave a review, whenever you can. I appreciate it. Love hearing from you guys.

Chapter 31: Meet the Family of Heroes

Sam watches the Bots and the Burns family from afar on the rooftop. He could see the siblings looking distraught at the thought of their father taken 'hostage'. He saw the Bots transformed into their vehicle mode and the two humans enter in their cabs. They drove off, probably heading back home to come up with a plan to rescue their supposed 'missing' father.

Once they are out of view, he used his grappling hook to swing from the rooftop to the alley where they stood. He walked behind the dumpster and picked up a small electronic device that seems to be humming. When he clicked on the off switch, the wall in front of him disappeared to reveal more pathway of the alley. He gave it a kiss and hooked it on his belt loop, letting it swing as me makes his way to the parking garage to meet up with Optimus and Chief Burns.

"Gotta hand it to Griffin Rock. They sure know how to make great technology. Although, I can't understand why anyone would throw something like this in the garbage. Oh, well. One man's trash is another one's treasure." When arrived at the garage, he spotted Optimus and the Chief in the middle of a conversation. He called out to them to get their attention and he went to Optimus's side.

"Sam, I would like to introduce you to Chief Burns, the Chief of security for Griffin Rock."

Chief Burns extended his hand. "Nice to finally meet you, Sam. Optimus spoke quite fondly of you during his last visit."

Sam accepted his hand and gave a firm shake. "Wish I could say the same to you. This is the first time I've heard of this island and its advancement in technology, and its family of heroes."

"No worries there, Son. The Rescue Bots arrived here on the island just a few days ago, so you missed nothing much. And I take it you went east on my kids and the Bots with your pranking."

Sam laughed nervously and scratched his cheek bashfully. "By 'easy', you mean fooling them into believing we kidnapped you and never allowing them to see you ever again?"

Instead of being mad, Chief Burns gave a heartily chuckle. "I did tell them not to follow, but I guess the punishment fits the crime."

"Go easy on them, Chief. They disobeyed your order because they love and care for you." Sam clasp his hand with Optimus's. Optimus grasp it tightly in response. "I know how they feel. I sometimes don't listen to my Autobots whenever they're in trouble. I try to help them whenever I can."

The Chief could tell the two have a special connection with each other, like the two are lovers. He knows he has no right to tell them they can't love each other, due to them being different species. All he can do is support them and wish for them a happy life. "Best be on my way. Don't want to keep the others worry about me." He gave a look at Sam's direction.

"Sorry." He waved shyly.

"Don't worry about it. I'll contact Chase to come pick me up once I'm far away from here. I hope you enjoy your stay here on Griffin Rock. We'll be having a Lobster and Technology Festival at the town square in a few days, if you guys are planning on staying here a bit longer."

"Thanks for the invitation, Chief Burns. We'll be sure to attend." Optimus replied. Chief Burns waved them goodbye and left the two alone in the garage.

"What were you guys were talking about?" Sam asked as he wrapped his arms around Optimus.

Optimus did the same to Sam and led him back to his vehicle. "I told him about our routine inspection on the Rescue Bots and how well they work with their human partners. I also told him not to reveal our presence here on the island. Doing so would jeopardize their rescue mission and make errors."

"Yeah. I'm sure they'll try to impress you rather than get the job done right." He let out a giggle when Optimus gave a firm slap on his butt cheek as he climbs up in the cab, this time, he gets to sit on the driver seat.

The holoform of Optimus disappeared into the air and returned back to his vehicle mode. He starts up his engine and drove out of the parking garage. "Shall we reschedule our date tomorrow?"

Sam nodded. "But this time, let's not eat at that restaurant anymore. Don't know why, but I just don't like that waitress." He said with a grumpy pout.

"I understand." Oh, he understands completely. He didn't like the way the waiter was touching his property.

And so, for the rest of the day, Optimus and Sam decided to take a tour around the island, getting to know it better, if they plan on visiting more frequent. Sam felt a change in scenery in his life is what he needed. Living next to a small town in the middle of a desert and being chase by Decepticons and MECH can take the energy right out of you. This island is full of energetic people, surrounded by beautiful nature, bright colorful scenery, and a great place to learn technology and engineering. Hopefully, once the fight against the Decepticon and MECH is over, he might decide to live here and help out with the rescuing or help invent new stuff.

When nighttime arrived, Optimus parked somewhere in the woods so Sam could a good night rest. As Sam adjust the seat into a makeshift bed, Optimus appeared in his holoform and pushed him with his back on his seat. If Sam was aware of his actions, he would've known that he was rubbing his butt against the steering wheel, which awoken the beast inside of Optimus. He got comfortable between Sam's legs and starts dry humping him hard. He pulled the shirt up and starts leaving hickeys on Sam's body. Sam starts moaning loudly and crying out Optimus's name. He was glad no one was around to hear him scream. It will be very embarrassing for anyone to hear him make weird noises.

The next day is their second chance on a good date. This time, they decided on a picnic on the park. Optimus hid his vehicle and used his human form to walk with Sam to the park. They found a perfect spot and placed a blanket for them to sit. With the food Sam got from the grocery, he was able to make a decent sandwich for them to eat.

The two sat peacefully, enjoying the nice breeze and birds chirping. Optimus spots a few families at the park as well. All of them playing with their young ones. He pulled Sam towards him so that his chest touches Sam's back. Optimus buries his face in Sam's hair as he starts rubbing Sam's stomach in circles. Hopefully in the near future, the two will start creating their own children.

Their peace and quiet was interrupted by a runaway technology. All the people starts running for their lives, while Optimus and Sam remains at their spot. Sam let out an annoyed sigh as he leaned back against Optimus.

"Is this going to be a daily routine while we stay on the island?"

Optimus leans down to give light kisses on Sam's neck as an apology. "The island is known for their malfunctioning tech. Forgive me, Sam. I should do a better job at choosing a better location for our date."

Sam gently pushed Optimus on his back and adjusted himself so that he's lying on top of him. "Don't worry about it, big guy. Just being so close to you is all I need. I prefer more of the kissing part than the date thing." He buries his blushing face on Optimus's chest.

"Come here." He grabbed Sam's face and kissed him. He thrust his tongue inside of Sam's cavern, tracing the inside of his mouth.

Their heated moment was ruined as the malfunctioning robot charging at them. Before Optimus can get up to protect Sam, Sam was already rushing towards the machine with an enraged look. "You are ruining our moment, you stupid piece of scrap metal!" With a powerful punch, the robot flew to the streets and continues on with its rampage. He huffed in anger and went back to lie down next to Optimus.

Optimus was very impressed on how Sam handled that machine. He could imagine their children becoming very strong warriors. He gave one deep kiss on Sam's lips. "We should get a move on if we want to see how the Rescue Bots work with their partners." The two spotted the Rescue Bots making a turn around the park and went in the direction where Sam punched the wild malfunctioned tech.

"Seems the Rescue Bots are rolling to the rescue now." Sam pulled out a small mini-pad from the basket. When he turned it on, a holographic video was displayed in the air. "The Chief gave me this during our tour yesterday, so that way, we can see the rescue without having us go anywhere near them."

"How generous of Chief Burns." The two snuggle closer as they watch the scene happing.

The runaway tech has started terrorizing downtown, destroying the streets, traffic lights, even destroying a trash bot. Sam cringed at the damage, since he was the one that punch that thing to the streets. They took note on how Boulder, Blades, and Chase are working so well with their humans. They are doing a good job working together, considering that they just met a few days ago. As for Heatwave and Kade, they seem to be more focused on arguing with each other than getting the job done.

"Seems Heatwave and Kade Burns needs more work on their partnership." Optimus said, thoughtfully.

"True, but it's mostly their ego getting in their way, which makes them a great pair. But I know deep down, they care and respect for each other. It's like they're best friends but don't like to admit it."

They returned watching Heatwave and Kade already finishing the job and going back to arguing. Optimus would like to disagree with Sam's statement, but he knows Sam has the best of judgment. After surveying the Rescue Team and finishing up their little picnic, the two decides to take a walk to the library. Sam wants to learn more of Griffin Rock history. Optimus decides to take upon this time to catch up on Earth's literature. They spend the whole day together, reading and whispering among themselves on the fascinating tales they've encountered on their readings.

When it's time for them to call it a night, they head back into the woods and away from the public. Sam starts adjusting his seat as a makeshift bed. And like last time, Optimus pins Sam against the seat, growling into his ear that his swelling returned and needs his treatments. All Sam could think about is fixing Optimus's haloform generator to prevent any more swelling, as Optimus rubs himself against his backside.

The day has arrived for the Lobster and Technology Festival. Sam is not really fond of the lobster part, but the technology part is what really interest him. It's quite still early for the festival to begin, so they decided to get some ice cream at the parlor. And by 'they', it means Sam ordered Optimus to take him to a parlor. But with their unfortunate luck, they chose the one where their robot server is going haywire. Sam is too tired to deal with it, due to Optimus keeping him up all night with his treatment.

Sam walked right pass the robot to the counter. "Hello? Can I get a service here from a human and not a damn piece of useless scrap metal?"

"Be nice." Optimus scolded lightly.

There was a whimpering behind the counter and a man peeked out with a terrified look on his face. "I'm sorry, sir. We are close for today."

Sam groan in annoyance and he jumped over the counter. "Sorry, sir, but I'm very cranky right now and I have a sudden urge for ice cream. So I'm not leaving until I get my ice cream." He grabbed a cup and a scooper and served himself a big scoop of cookies 'n cream and gave Optimus two scoops.

"Sam, don't be rude to the nice man." Optimus inclined his head nonchalantly, to dodge the incoming scoop of ice cream from Sam.

"You're to blame, Optimus, for my crankiness. You kept me up all night, and I didn't get enough sleep. And when I don't get enough sleep, I get cranky. And when I'm feeling cranky, I need to eat half a tub of ice cream." Sam glowers at Optimus, but it has no effect on him.

Optimus, on the other hand, felt pride swell up inside of him, knowing that it was him that kept Sam up all night, thanks to his amazing stamina. He had made Sam pile of goo. "You're behavior right now reflects that of a woman on a terrible breakup." He commented.

Sam mocked his words as he swipes his card and left a huge tip in the jar. He jumps over the counter and was about take his first bite, but then the robot smacked the cup out of his hand and fell to the floor. Still feeling drained from last night, he gave the robot a quick swipe of his blade, cutting it clean in two. Normally he would have gone crazy mad, but he's too tired to even bother.

Optimus grabbed an extra cup and poured half of his ice cream in the cup. He gave it to Sam, feeling his spark filled with warmth seeing Sam trying to fight off a smile. The two exits the parlor and heading straight to the town square, where the festival is being held. Sam felt a presence nearby and looked behind him to see Heatwave and Chase, along with Chief Burns and Kade arriving at the parlor. Good thing they left before they arrived.

But when Sam's eyes caught Heatwave staring at him, it's as if Heatwave has seen a ghost.

Heatwave squinted his optics, trying to get a better view of the human up on the street. His optics went wide and his jaw dropped in shock. "It can't be... Can it... No, it's not possible..."

"Yo, Heatwave!" Kade calls out to him. "Get your mind off the gutter and let's get to work!" He went back inside to help his dad get information about the accident and clean the area. Heatwave growls in annoyance at Kade. When he looked back up, the person he was staring at has already left.

"A penny for your thoughts?" Chase asked.

"A what for my what?"

"A penny for your thoughts. It's an Earth phase used to ask someone what they are thinking about."

"Why didn't you just say that in the first place?" Heatwave sighed annoyingly. Stupid Earth and their confusing way of speaking. "It's nothing. I thought I just saw someone I know back on Cybertron."

Chase's optics went wide. "Are you saying there's a Cybertronian is among us?"

"It's nothing. My optics is just playing tricks on me. Forget what I said."

Chase looked at the direction Heatwave was looking. He saw nothing there. Just a few humans heading towards the town. He'll investigate more on the matter later. He still has work to do and still needs to prepare for the parade.

Optimus and Sam arrives at the town square. The festival hasn't started yet, so they used the time to explored the place. They send half an hour walking around until the festival started. The people gathered by the street to see all the floats of amazing technology. Behind the other floats, they spot the Burns family in a regular car, waving at the crowds. Behind them are the Rescue Bots marching in line. But there are three of them right now instead of four. They are missing Heatwave.

After the parade was over, they head back to the square to enjoy the rest of the festival. To their surprise, they see flying lobsters swarming all over the town square. "Ooh, is this part of the attraction?" Sam asked excitingly. "Flying lobsters! That is so cool!"

Optimus scanned the area to see people running away from the lobsters. He heard these crustacean have very powerful claws that can be very painful to humans. "Be careful, Sam. This is not what the humans originally planned for their festival.

"Another invention gone wrong again." Sam sighed for like the hundred time today. "Do you want to grab something to eat? I really don't want to be involved in this mess today."

Optimus nodded in agreement. "I believe I saw a good place to eat just around the block. I made sure it's not a place where they have waiters and waitresses."

"Good enough for me."

The two left the town square, leaving the people to fend for themselves. But they have the Burns family and the Bots, so they are not a bit worried. They found a ramen place around the corner. To Sam's delight, it's man-served. No robot doing the cooking. They grabbed a seat by the window after they finished ordering. When the food arrived, they start slurping while watching the Burns family and the Bots rounding up the lobsters. Sam spotted the familiar firetruck outside the window, heading towards town square. He smiles at that. As they continue to watch, they were amazed when they thought of using the giant lobster balloon to frighten the lobsters and herd them back to the town square where Heatwave sprayed them, causing them to fall to the ground, thus ending the flying lobster menace.

"Not bad. They coordinated the situation perfectly."

"I agree." Sam got up and went to order two more spicy ramen bowls. It seems he found a favorite place to eat.

As Sam is busying ordering more food, Optimus started contacting someone. Sam returned to the table with two more bowls at hand. Sam stuffed his mouth with noodles and began slurping the spicy broth. Optimus is amazed how fast Sam is eating without choking or stopping. Sam finished one bowel and went for the other. Optimus is still on his one bowel, but he prefers to savor the taste and eat slowly. It is actually delicious, way better than the skillet he ate a few days ago. At the corner of his eye, he saw Sam getting up to get more food. He heard the door opened and saw the person he called him here.

Sam is returning from getting two more bowls when he spotted Chief Burns with Optimus. "Chief Burns, what are you doing here?"

"Optimus called me here." He replied.

Sam looked at Optimus. "When did you called him?"

"When you left to get more food."

Sam understood and went back to eating. "So what seems to be the problem?" He asked with a stuffed mouth.

"Manners, Sam." He scolded. "I called him here to escort you to his place and meet with his family and the Rescue Bots." Hearing that has made Sam choke on his food.

"Are you okay, Son?" Chief Burns asked with a chuckle.

Sam cleared his throat, which started to sting a bit. "Yeah. Just caught me by surprise."

"I figured. So how about it? Would you like to meet my family and the Bots?"

"Can I?!" He asked Optimus.

"We leave right after you finish with your food."

Sam finished his ramen bowls like lightning, left a big tip for the owner, and jumped right into Optimus's cab. Chief Burns entered into the driver's side and placed his hands on the steering wheel to make it so that he's the one driving. They drove until they are a block away from the firehouse. Sam and Chief Burns exited the vehicle, while the holoform of Optimus appeared on the driver's seat.

"Are you not coming?" Sam asked.

"I have a few mission I need to do on my own, do a little patrol around the island. For now, enjoy your stay with the Burns family, and try not to cause too much trouble." Optimus left the two to patrol the island.

Once Optimus is out of view, a devious smile is formed on Sam's lips. Chief Burns recognized that smile from when Kade was a little child. He was quite the mischievous one, and according to Optimus, Sam is also one. "What are you planning?"

Sam gave him a evil grin. "I'm going to prank the Bots to see which one will break their mindless robot character."

Optimus did told him that by having Sam around will brighten any place and people. And now he knows why. He just met the kid, and already he wormed his way into his heart. "I got my money on Heatwave."

"Then I get Blades." If what Optimus said is true, then Blades will break easily.

"Alright. Let's head inside. The others are probably down at the firehouse bunker." Chief Burns led Sam inside the garage and went in an elevator.

Sam is so excited to finally meet the Rescue Bots and making more human friends. But then he remembered he sort of left a bad first impression with them by making himself look like a bad guy and pretending to kidnap the Chief. Damn, maybe he should've worn a disguise back then.

"It's going to be fine." Chief Burns placed his hand on Sam's shoulder and giving him a reassuring smile. It's like he knows what he's thinking. "I've already explained it to my kids and the Bots. They were mostly mad at me for allowing you to pull a prank on them. Now wait right here until I call you to come out."

Sam gave a salute. "You got it, Chief." The elevator came to a stop at the bottom level. Sam hid to the side while Chief Burns exits, clearing his throat to get their attentions.

"Okay, team! Listen up! We have a special guest here who will be staying with us for a while during the duration of his visit here on Griffin Rock." The Rescue Bots took that as their hint to completely stay still and motionless and putting their visors down. "So I want you all to be nice to him and treat him with the respect he deserves. You may come out now."

Everyone looked at each other with a puzzled look. They never saw him act way so serious. There heard an extra pair of footsteps coming from the elevator and there were collected gasps coming from Dani, Graham, and Cody. Even Boulder, Chase, and Blades almost broke their disguises as normal machines.

"Everyone," Chief Burns puts his arm around Sam's shoulder, "I would like for you all to meet Sam Witwicky."

"Sup!" Sam said with a raised hand.

An awkward silent between the Burns siblings and Sam fills the room. So silent, you could almost hear the crickets chirping. That seems to get Boulder's attention as he tries to turn his head discreetly, trying to find the little creature he read in books. It always amazes him that something so small can make such a loud noise.

Unable to withstand the silence, Dani stomps her way to Sam with her trademark sternness. "You have a lot of nerve to pull that kind of prank on us."

Sam tried to fight back a smile, but failed. "You should've followed your dad's orders, or none of that would've happened." Sam retorted back.

"He's right about that." Graham quickly stepped in. "Dad did give us an order, and we should've listened to him, instead letting our imaginations run wild." He turned to give Sam a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, Sam. I'm Graham, the family's engineer. She's Dani. She's a pilot. Behind us is our youngest brother, Cody. Our dad told us about you after he came back home."

Sam shook Graham's hand. "Good things, I hope."

"Only that you're a friend of his friend and a prankster." He said with a laugh.

"I mostly prank on the ones I consider a friend. Like you guys."

"That's a strange way to consider someone a friend."

Sam shrugged nonchalantly. "It's how I was raised." He looked around the bunker. It's pretty, except for some bookshelves, a couch, a pinball machine, and a TV. "Nice pad you got here. Not as big as my room, but it's nice."

"How big is your room?" Cody asked hesitantly.

Sam hummed in thought, measuring his room with their bunker in his head. "I say about almost twice as big."

Graham started sputtering. "Where do you live?!"

Sam gave a playful wink at him. "I'll tell you later. But first, weren't suppose to be four of you guys and four Bots?"

"Now that you mentioned it. Where's Kade?" The Chief asked.

"Last I saw him was at the town square. Those kids sure love firetruck." Dani answered with fondness.

"Someone should contact him, and tell him about our visitor."

"I'll do it, Dad." Cody's hoverboard suddenly turned into a communicator. Sam commented on getting one of those.

While Cody is busy contacting Kade, Sam decides to use this time to get a closer look on the Rescue Bots. All three stood still, keeping their roles as non-sentient robots and not aliens. When he stood in front of Blades, he remembers the bet he made with Chief Burns. Smiling mischievously, he starts climbing on top his shoulder. Once he's on top, he leaned to his audio receptors and whispers in it. "I'm gonna break you." He smiled when Blades made the most adorable whimper he had ever heard. Even adorable than Bumblebee's.

"Sam!" Sam looked down and saw Chief Burns looking at him sternly. It also got the two older siblings' attentions. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing." He replied innocently.

"I know what you're trying to do, and it's cheating."

"We never set the rules, so it's not cheating."

The Chief smiled challengingly. "So you want to play it like that, huh? Alright. Bring it. But just so you know, you're going down."

"Is that a challenge?" Sam jumped down from Blades's shoulder, which startled Dani, Graham, and the Bots. They were shocked to see him okay after that big fall. Sam walks up to him with a cocky smirk. "Then bring it on, old man."

"I'm gonna make you eat those words."

"I didn't know humans can eat words. What strange creatures." Chase said in hush whisper to his colleagues.

"Any idea what they are talking about?" Graham whispered to Dani, pointing at his father and Sam.

"No clue. But they are acting like they've known each other for a long time, even though we all didn't know who is his."

There was loud screeching coming from above them and muffled voices that sounded like arguing. The lift starts to descend, but a certain red Bot was impatient, so he jumped off and landed on the bunker ground.

"Fire-Bot, stop!" Kade yelled angrily.

After Kade had gotten word from his younger brother, Cody, about a visitor staying with them at the firehouse, he wasn't too fond of the idea of someone living with them for a short while. That means Heatwave and the other Bots will have to act like machines. Which was good and bad. For the good part, he gets to boss Heatwave around and he can't talk back to him. But the bad part, they won't be able to talk to the Bots like they used to. Not that he wants to talk to Heatwave.

But something strange had just happened. After he gotten the name of the person who's staying, Heatwave started going crazy. He started going real fast. Kade tried to put the brakes on him, but it was pointless. Heatwave said he needs to see this 'Sam' person, which is the reason why he's going over the speed limit.

When they arrived, Heatwave shoved Kade out from his cab and transformed. He pressed the switch to lower the lift to the bunker. He jumped off the lift and began searching for Sam. He ignored Kade's yell and didn't even bothered to go pretend to be a plain machine. His optics finally landed on Sam. Many emotions started swimming inside of him at the sight of his dearest friend. The one that convinced him to stay at the Rescue Bots Academy.

Heatwave ran to grab him and raised him up in the air, laughing merrily, something that Heatwave has never done. "Sam! Thank the AllSpark! You're safe!"

Everyone was greatly confused, especially Sam. Heatwave was acting as if he knows him personally. And what did he mean by 'safe'? Sam has always been safe... for the most part. He sees Heatwave smiling at him, which is sort of creepy.

"Robot, put him down!" Cody yelled.

"Guys, it's okay. You don't have to pretend to be robots. This is Sam. He knows all about Cybertronians!" Heatwave said, cheerfully.

Everyone gasped and looked at Sam and Chief Burns for conformation. All they saw was the Chief smiling at Sam and laughing. "Looks like I win the bet, Sammy."

Then they looked at Sam and saw him pouting. "Thanks a lot, Heatwave."

It seems like it's safe to assume Sam knows about robot aliens and they all let out their breaths that they didn't know they were holding. The other Bots also ditched their disguises as plain robots and joined Heatwave.

"So you two knew each other, Heatwave?" Blades asked.

"Are you kidding?" Blades let out a startled yelp when Heatwave pulled him closer. It terrifies him to see this side of Heatwave, instead of the grouchy one. "I met Sam back on Cybertron. He's a dear friend of mine."

"How strange." Chase hummed in thought. "I thought humans needs oxygen in order to breathe and live. Cybertron has no oxygen, therefore, it is impossible for this Sam fellow to be able to survive on Cybertron."

"Trust me, he can. He didn't need those suits humans use when they go to space. Tell them, Sam."

Okay, this has gotten awkward. How was he suppose to tell them about him not being on Cybertron or been knowing Heatwave for a long time? But he has to tell them the truth, even if it makes Heatwave look stupid or a fool for spouting things. Luckily, he can jump out from his hand and to the ground.

"Heatwave... I'm sorry to say that I really don't know you."

Heatwave had a hurt look on his face, but he starts to chuckle. "That's really funny, Sam. C'mon, tell them the truth."

"That is the truth, Heatwave. I don't know how you know me, but I actually don't know you. I never even heard of you until a few days ago. And I never stepped foot on Cybertron. We have no means of intergalactic travel from here to Cybertron. I'm really sorry, Heatwave. I hope we can still be friends." Sam spoke softly, walking up to Heatwave who seems quiet. He reaches to place his hand on his foot, but Heatwave took a step back.

Heatwave went back to being his old usual scowling attitude. "Just forget it. Seems our friendship means nothing to you, that you would completely forget everything you have done for me. And I got so happy when I found out you made it out alive when Cybertron went dead. Can't believe I made a fool of myself." Heatwave transformed into his vehicle mode and drove out through one of the bunker's tunnel.

"Heatwave, wait!" Sam reached out with his hand, but a hand grabbed his shoulder. He looked back to see the owner of the hand was Chief Burns.

"Give him time to cool off. He'll need it in order to understand everything he said."

Sam was reluctant, but agreed. He wants to know everything he said about him being in Cybertron and whatnot.

"If I may," Chase leans down to Sam. "I would like to apologize for Heatwave's false accusation. I am sure he did not mean it."

Sam gave a warm and small smile. "Thanks, Chase." He let out a big sigh and clapped his hands to get everyone's attention. "As thanks for letting me stay here, how about I whipped up a big feast. I'm sure none of you had anything to eat after that incident with the lobsters." After hearing the word 'feast', the Burns family's stomach began to growl loud enough for it to echo. They all had a small blush on their face.

Chief was the first to speak for the family. "After the 'Flobster' incident, we all kinda lost our appetite. And nothing beats home cooking."

"Then it's settled. Just lead me to your kitchen and leave Chef Sam to do all the cooking."

"Now hold on. You're our guest, so leave the cooking to me and you use stay here and get to know everyone here." Chief Burns suggested, leading him to the couch.

"I'll go ahead and get a head start on the food. Ooh, I'll make my special cake!" Dani exclaimed, happily. There was looks of horror on the family's face.

Chief Burns made a quick 180 turn and headed straight to the elevator with Sam. "On second thought, Sam and I will be busy in the kitchen. The rest of you set up the tables and plates down here. I'm sure you all have questions for Sam, especially where he comes from."

Dani groaned in disappointment, while Cody, Kade, and Graham sighed with relief. While Chief Burns takes Sam to the elevator, Sam is looking back to where Heatwave left. Maybe coming here was a bad idea if he was just going to hurt someone's feelings. He'll have to make it up for him. He won't leave until Heatwave accepts him as a friend.

Sam placed his hand over his heart. But for some reason, seeing him and talking to him sparked a strange feeling. Could what Heatwave said was true? And why did he looked so familiar?
