When I got to my house, I headed straight for the kitchen and got myself a can of coke. I walked upstairs to my room and laid down, closed my eyes and hoped I'd fall asleep. I was exhausted. It had been a long day.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Christian staring down at me. He was just standing there, staring. What's with all the staring?

"I like seeing your face." He whispered as he reached for my face.

I tried to reach for his hand when my arm felt heavy. I woke up reaching for him, my arm in the air, reaching for nothing.

He's haunting my dreams now too. Good, Lord.

It's bright outside. My alarm was beeping... "Weird, I don't remember setting an alarm for 7:30 PM..." then it dawned on me, literally. "SHIT!" I stood up as fast as I could and went straight to the bathroom. "OH MY GOD, IT'S 7:30 AM?! I slept through the night?! Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm gonna be late and I didn't even do any of my homework." I was stepping in the shower when I remembered Christian... I didn't really want to face him after he blew me off. Well, not just me specifically, he made plans with Kate, Brian and I but still... I feel like he ditched me.

"Eh, I'll just keep the 'not feeling well' thing for another day." I stepped outside the shower and dried my legs. Good thing that was the only thing I managed to get wet before I decided to be absent.

I put my pajamas on and covered myself with blankets.

Ray knocks on my door, "Ana?! Are you still in there?"

"I don't think I'm going to school today, I'm not really feeling well."

He opens the door and studies me, "Oh, I'm sorry Annie. Do you want anything before I leave for work?"

"No, I'm good. I think I'll just sleep this off."

"Okay, well if you need anything, just call me." Ray assures me and gives me a hug.

"Thanks, bye dad. Have a great day."

"Feel better, Annie."

A free day all to myself...

What should I do?

I moved myself in the living room couch and as I was flipping through the channels,I felt my phone vibrate.

Where are you?!

-Kate

I quickly typed a reply. Knowing her, she'd probably run to my house if she didn't get a response right away.

Still not feeling well. Took the day off. Have fun at school. ;)

x Ana

How much fun did you have with Christian last night? Looks like you beat him up. I didn't know you were so kinky Ana ;) xoxo Kate

What are you talking about?

x Ana

His lip is busted. I'm guessing from your ruthless kissing. Damn, Ana. Those innocent eyes fooled me ;)

xoxo Kate

I didn't even get to hang out with him yesterday. Not feeling well, remember?

x Ana

What?! Then how the hell did he get that pretty lip busted? Aw, the poor baby. Jeez, he has a black eye too. I don't know how I missed that.

xo Kate

I can guess how...

x Ana

ANASTASIA ROSE STEELE. Tell me what you know right now or I am faking a sickness too and go straight to your house.

Kate

How did you know I was...? Never mind. I'm sick and I don't know anything. I'm just assuming. From the busted lip to the black eye, I'm guessing he got into a fight?

x Ana

Well, duh. And you're faking a sickness. And you know something. Even through text, I can tell you're lying. Spill it, Steele!

xo Kate

I. Don't. Know. Anything.

x Ana

Stop lying. We don't want your perfect nose to grow into a penis.

xo Kate

KATE! Seriously, I don't know anything. If I did, I would have told you already. And how in the world would my nose turn into a penis? Last time I checked, Pinocchio's nose grew longer.

x Ana

Exactly, it grew longer. Puberty hit. And you know something you're not telling me. I can tell. But I have to go. The yearbook staff is going cray-cray without me.

xo Kate

You're insane but I love you anyway. Have fun being the editor in chief! Don't put any hideous pictures of me in the book.

xo Ana

An hour of The Vampire Diaries later, I got another text. I'm guessing yearbook class was over.

I have the perfect picture of you to put in the book. The day after you got your wisdom teeth pulled out and you went to school with those cheeks. I believe you were working on an experiment in Chemistry class? Remember the goggles? Ooh baby, I can just hear the boys run after you. And they will if you don't start talking about your Christian Grey. -your amazing bff Kate

Kate. I will only tell you what I know if you promise not to say anything to Christian.

PS He isn't MY Christian. And I'm beginning to doubt my selection of friends. x Ana

Deal. I promise not to say anything. And he will be YOUR Christian. You guys have Chemistry. xo Kate

We don't have Chemistry together. I specifically asked him and he said we didn't. Ok, here's what I know: he got kicked out of his old school for fighting, beating someone up. Now zip it.

x Ana

I wasn't talking about the class. I meant, that you two have CHEMISTRY. You like him, admit it. And it's zipped. I was hoping for a little something juicier.

xo Kate

And what would be juicy?

x Ana

I don't know. Like, "oh, Jose came up and Christian got really territorial and kicked his ass because of me" now THAT'S juicy

xo Kate

Jose is only a friend and so is Christian. I don't see them any more than that. Why can't I be friends with boys without having people think I'm going out with them?

x Ana

When are you going to admit to yourself that boys actually like you? Open your eyes Ana! Jose and Christian are head over heels. I can smell a fight between the two once they meet...

xo Kate

Don't. Jose won't do that, and Christian, I don't even know the dude.

x Ana

Mhmmm. Believe what you want to believe. It's almost time for lunch... Can I come to your house and interrogate you in person? And I don't think I can take another hour of school.

xo Kate

Sure. Just don't get in trouble.

x Ana

Ok, I'm on my way...

xo Kate

Twenty minutes later I hear the door bell ring and I am forced to get up and unlock the door.

She walks in my house with two bags of Carl's Jr. "Okay I know this isn't healthy but whatever. I need girl time and this is comfort food." She sets the food down and takes out the fries.

Uh oh, this could only mean one thing.

"Did you end it with Brian?" I asked...

"Let's not talk about Brian. I hate him. Let's talk about you and Christian."

Yup, she broke up with Brian.

"I thought your relationship was going well? What happened?" I asked her, not wanting to talk about Christian.

"It was. But then I just got annoyed. I need to be single. I'm too busy anyways." She said as she munched on fries.

"So you're telling me that Christian didn't even meet you after school?" She asked, surprised by what I just told her.

"Yeah...I saw him right after school but when I got back from my locker, he was gone. Nowhere to be found."

Her eyes widen and she smacks my arm. "That's it! That's probably when he got the busted lip! It makes sense!" She assured me, "he wouldn't have blown you off, I'm pretty sure he likes you."

I burst out laughing at what Kate had just said. "Oh, Kate, you're so funny. Oh my god. I can't breathe."

"Whatever, Ana. Oh hey, we should go out tonight. Let's go downtown, do some shopping? Get some Starbucks?" Her eyes widen, looking excited.

"Okay, let's go. I want a green tea frappuccino."

We're inside a small boutique when I see a copper haired boy across the street with an older woman with short blonde hair. I squint to try and get a better look at the boy and realized it was Christian. Hmm...the woman is probably his mom? Man, she is young... And so pretty... I can tell where he gets his looks but I don't see the resemblance... I wonder what his Dad looks like...

"-Ana? Earth to Ana?" She snaps at my face "Hey, you there? What do you think of this romper?" She holds out a gray piece of clothing that looked like a dress but instead of a skirt, they're shorts...

"It's cute, Kate." I tell her with a smile.

"Ok, I'm trying it on. Here, hold this." She gives me her bags and I sit down by the fitting room and wait.

I started playing Temple Run and I got really into it. People have come and gone and I don't even notice. Kate has been trying everything in the store. I'm sure she'll run out of things to try on soon, so I just kept playing the addicting game.

"Ana?" I heard.

I don't look up; I didn't want to risk getting a score lower than my previous one.

"Yeah?! Who's that? Sorry, I'm playing a game. I don't really want to lose." I said as I moved my phone from one side to the other.

"Christian."

I looked up, not caring about my game anymore to see the beautiful mix of genes that the gods have decided to send down to Earth. He smiles at me though I notice his black eye and busted lip right away.

"You weren't at school today... you okay?" He asked.

"Am I okay? Are you okay?" I asked, gesturing at his face.

"Yeah, I'm fine... Just a cut and a bruise. It's nothing." I can tell he was hiding something.

"Christian, honey, let's go." The older woman who I had seen earlier said. Yup, definitely his mom, why else would she call him honey. She raises a brow and says, "Come." This time, it sounded like an order from a dictator rather than an order from a mom.

"Well... I hope you're doing fine. I'll see you around." He turns around and I am intrigued by the woman.

She can't possibly be his mom.
