How Taking Down Legacy Failed

Becky's P.O.V

"Are you sure this is going to work?" I hissed.

Cody nodded, "Yes. He plays the fool at times but I'm his best male friend… just trust me, okay? Now, go!"

I sighed but pushed open the door and saw Ted sitting there, "Rebeccie! What a lovely surprise!"

"Oh…" I looked down at my feet and tried to look sad, "I didn't think anyone would be in here." I plonked down next to him and turned my head away.

He frowned slightly, "That's not what Teddy likes to see! What's wrong?"

I shook my head and sniffed, "It's nothing. You don't care."

"I do!" He cracked his knuckles, "Whose made you upset? I'll go make them cry!" He paused slightly, "Actually, I'll get Randy to make them cry, I just had my nails done."

I fought off a smile and shook my head again, "I wish I knew."

Ted cocked his head to the side and narrowed his eyes, he looked confused, "What are you talking about, you weirdo?"

I bit my lip as if I was in deep in thought before turning to face him, "If I tell you something, do you promise not to tell anyone?"

He widened his eyes, "My lips are sealed, kid! I love a bit of gossip."

I pretended to act nervous when I laughed before glancing around as if I was checking to see if anyone was listening, "Cody and I are being blackmailed."

Ted's face froze slightly and he raised an eyebrow. I noticed him swallow.

"Blackmailed?"

I nodded, "And we've broken up."

Ted tried to cover his shock but he didn't succeed, "What? Why?"

"If we're not together, then they don't have anything to blackmail us on!" I covered my face with my hands and pretended to swallow a sob, "I didn't realize I liked him so much."

Ted rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, "Neither did I…"

"It's just… you know when you're completely comfortable with someone? When you can look and act your very worse and they won't give a crap? When it can be funny one second and serious the next before going back to funny?" I sighed, "It's like that. I can be me."

"And there I was thinking that you were just doing it!"

I tried not to laugh again and raised both eyebrows, "This is kind of personal but you know… well, a girl's time of month?"

He grimaced, "Yes. Whenever I have a girlfriend and she's taking a five-day-break, I just get another girl."

I rolled my eyes, "You would! But whenever it's that time for me, I still spend the night with Cody."

"Ewwwwww."

I tutted and gently hit him on the arm, "Not like that! I mean we're just together. Even on a normal night, sometimes we just like to be with each other."

He looked nervous again, "So why have you broken it off? If you feel that way…"

I heaved a long sigh, "It's a lot less hassle I suppose." I got up and tried to look even more miserable, "I'm just going to… wander. If anyone asks where I am, just tell them I want to be alone." I left the room hurriedly, trying to force a sniffling sound as I left.

I shut the door and saw Cody standing there, grinning, "That was brilliant."

I rolled my eyes, "I don't see how that changed anything."

Cody just raised his eyebrows, "Trust me."

Mickie's P.O.V

"I can't believe Ted made us drive for hours just to drop off that fish" Randy moaned. We had spent hours driving to Ted's home town and then to the arena.

"That fish has a name and it's Percy!" Ted told him sternly. "I'm going to miss him"

"Why did you even buy a fish?"

"We were bored" I shrugged.

"There had to be something going on for when I got home" Randy chuckled. "John has to take on NXT tonight"

"Isn't it great" I smiled widely. "I wish I could be involved with the match so it would be like 8 on 1"

"Well they did offer you to join them" Ted pointed out, my eyes widened and I nudged him.

"They offered you to join them?" Randy repeated what Ted had just said. I hadn't told him for a reason, he would just get angry.

"Fine! Yes! They asked, but I said no!" I put my hands up.

"John's in the ring" Cody pointed out. We all watched with interest. He looked just as pissed he did last week. He blames Sheamus. NXT hearing what John had to say, came out, standing at the top of the rank.

"What we are going to do to you, you brought it on yourself" Wade told John.

"Someone is problem going to get involved though" I muttered to myself. The GM then sent an email. Any superstars that gets involved will be suspended. "Our new GM is a legend!"

"Right, I'm off to go see if I have a match, Becky want to come with?"

"Sure" She hopped up.

I got up to see there was dirt where I had just been sitting. "Dammit" I muttered. "Do I have something on my butt?" I asked the group.

"Yes" Randy replied and put his hand there.

"You were clearly trying to seduce him there baby" Ted tutted at me.

"No I wasn't, he wasn't that good the first time" I grinned at Randy, he opened his mouth in shock and amusement, he got up and placed his hands on my hips.

"Really now?" He purred.

"Guys, still here" Becky rolled her eyes.

"Then get out" Randy told her, not taking his eyes off me.

"Actually Randall" I pushed him away. "I have places to go, people to see, you can always ask Ted for some tips" I winked.

"You've got to be kidding me" Randy replied starring at Ted.

"Welcome to Ted's sex101, please take a seat Mr Orton" Ted said putting on his reading glasses at the end of his nose.

"Please don't leave me" Randy grabbed onto my wrist.

"I'll sort this, Theodore, if you're going to watch porn, at least learn from it" I have never seen Ted so insulted; I left before he could respond!

We started walking when suddenly Becky stopped. "I thought you already checked if you had a match"

"I did"

"So where are we going?"

"Wish Nexus good luck"

"Sounds good to me!" We turned the corner to see NXT attacking Yoshi. Me and Becky ran up to them. I tried to trip up Heath Slater, which I succeeded, before they finally realised we were there. They threw Yoshi away from them and stood up tall to us. "You know we were just coming down here to say good luck…"

"But then we saw this little display" I crossed my arms. "Not cool guys" Wade cocked up his brow in amusement, it just happened naturally, my eyes just started…I guess you could say checking him out.

"Look all you want Mickie" He chuckled, I quickly shifted my gaze.

"I err…was just seeing…something" I coughed. "This is a warning guys, I don't want to have to get physical, but stay away from the WWE superstars!" I tried to sound tough. "Well except for John, you can hurt him, that's cool" NXT just laughed. "Not the reaction I was hoping for" Justin stepped closer to me, before kicked Yoshi in the head, then starred back at me challenging. "Do you think that impressive? My foot is more impressive" They all surrounded me; Becky was left starring on from the outside. "Why don't you take Becky?" I said with a fake smile.

"Thanks" Becky replied sarcastically. The Nexus members sniggered and un-surrounded me.

"She's no threat gents" Wade told them chuckling himself, before turning back to me. "I take it I will be seeing a lot of you today, Mickie" Wade said to me, his gaze now wandered before the Nexus followed him in his leave.

"Should I be afraid?"

"Nah, if they wanted to hurt you, they would of done so by now, I think you amuse him"

"Oh that's good…I think"

We wandered back to the locker room after that. "Do you have a match?" Randy asked us I walked in.

"What?" Becky then nudged me. "Oh yeah! No."

"Ah that's a shame, but you can by the curtains and watch my match" He rolled his shoulders. "Ted is on at the moment"

"Oh look, he is wearing that suit I love!" He was down in the ring with Maryse. He said they were the million dollar couple; turns out he was actually referring to himself and the brief case. Maryse looked insulted.

"Oh no Maryse baby"

"He called her baby! Nerve!" Ted made it up to Maryse by saying he will shower her with gifts. I think I should be in charge of his bank account. John Morrison interrupted them and declared that French people do not take showers; this caused Maryse to yell at him in French. John Morrison translates what she says his own way, causing her to slap him, but he caught her wrist, Ted took charge from there, he attacked John, but he soon took control, he nearly did his finisher on Ted, but Maryse pulled him out of the way. "At least she is useful for something" I shrugged. "How was your sex lesson with Ted?"

Randy rolled his eyes. "That guy has some weird fetishes"

Ted walked back in holding his jaw, Maryse by his side. I didn't know how to go about greeting him because he likes to act cool in front of Maryse. It was Randy's match next, which gave him an excuse to leave, actually…. "I'll come with!"

"Me too!"

"Fine, I'll be the man here!" Cody hissed at us, he turned to see Ted and Maryse making out. "On second thoughts, count me in"

Randy's music hit first. "It's still weird watching my brother…OW my foot!" Becky yelped out in pain, she looked up to see Edge standing there not looking remorseful. "Stupid ape" Becky muttered and kicked him.

"You know Rebecca, it really offends me when you call Adam an ape" I told her. I grabbed Edge's hand and dragged him along to Cody. "Look Cody! Look! Look what I found! Can I keep him? Huh? Pleeeaaaase?"

Cody looked up for a second, sighed, saying, "He's not yours Mickie, go put him back where you found him"

I've never seen Edge look so freaked out.

Randy dominated Edge during the first half of the match, but then Edge took control. "He should just do my finisher!"

"That won't work" Cody told me, so I pinched him. "Ow" He rubbed his arm.

"Exactly"

Edge had now lined Randy up to punt him, but luckily Randy countered, there was a part of the match where Edge had Randy in a head lock and it looked like he was going to loose consciousness, but he got out of it and went into viper mode, but Chris Jericho came down to interrupt the match. This distracts Randy, which allowed Edge to connect the spear and get the pin. I turned around to face Cody to get him to go help Randy when Evan Bourne raced pass. "Hey Evan!" I called out.

"Hey Mickie" He yelled back over his shoulder.

"He is so nice!" I told Becky & Cody, they just shook their heads at me. Evan cleared the ring, but he wasn't doing it to help Randy, he was setting him up for the air Bourne! Randy amazingly RKO'd him in mid air! He did that evil, but cute smile after.

"Let's go" Randy said to us as he walked behind the curtains. He grabbed my wrist, but I pulled back.

"Me and Becky are going to speak to Evan" I lied.

"Why?" He asked confused.

"Because! He is our friend!"

"Do you really want to know?" Cody asked him, Randy chuckled and they walked away.

"Are we really going to talk to Evan?"

"No"

"Didn't think so"

"Lets go!" We looked around backstage trying to find our good buddies Nexus, we soon found them surrounding John Morrison. We looked on to see that John tried to fight his way out, he didn't pretty well considering there was seven of them, but in the end, there was just too many and Nexus dominated him.

"I think this is where we interrupt" Becky said, I grinned and we walked over there. "Fellas?" She yelled over the fighting, she tried to push in, but Darren pushed her back and continued to attack John.

"I know what to do" I told her, I pushed her back slightly and took off my shoe. I threw it at the back of Justin Gabriel's head. They all stopped and turned around.

"Thought I might be seeing you ladies" Wade smirked.

"You are going to regret that" Justin charged at me and like a reflex I just suddenly slapped him, they were all shocked at my actions and so was I.

"Errrrr RUN!" I yelled to Becky, we both ran, but we were too slowly and Heath was suddenly in front of me, we bumped into him and fell back into the rest of the Nexus's arms. They all starred at us like they did with their victims. "Errr buddy?" I smiled innocently, brushing the dust off Darren Young's shoulders.

"Homie?" Becky said to Justin smoothing over his shirt.

"Amigo?" I faced Skip; well I think that was his name.

"Friend?" Becky asked Wade.

He stroked his chin. "So you really think I'm hot?" He asked me.

"It depends" I told him.

"On what?"

"On whether or not you let us go"

"We've given her enough chances" Justin hissed at Wade. "Let's just get her already"

"No, we don't touch her" Wade told them. I nodded appreciatively at Wade, before jogging off with Becky.

"Right, before you nearly try and get us killed again; let's go back to the locker room"

"Actually, I'm going to go talk to Evan" I told her.

"For real this time?"

"For real"

"Alright, but don't be too long" I nodded at her and went on search for Evan. He was holding his neck when I found him.

"Hey, how you holding it up?" I gave him a friendly smile which he returned.

"Could be better, did not expect that"

"Well his RKO's are a bit random" I chuckled. I looked over Evan's shoulder to see that Sheamus was coming towards us. "Sheamus! I knew you would return to me, I'm willing to put your little fling with Chloe behind us, now the wedding should be like…" Evan turned hearing this.

"Alright fella?" Sheamus asked Evan, interrupting me; He bent down to Evan's height level mockingly. From behind Sheamus came the guys I had been seeing a lot lately, Nexus.

"Now guys, I'm starting to believe you guys are stalking me" I joked to them.

"Alright lads, here's two of Cena's hero's" Sheamus said to them, pointing to us. No way was I a Cena hero!

"Traitor!" I gasped at Sheamus. "First off you cheat on me, then you ignore me and now lying claiming that me and Evan like Cena when we don't" I linked arms with Evan.

"You should go" Evan whispered to me.

"I'm not leaving you" I whispered back to him.

"They will crush you"

"Well they will crush you too! I'm not leaving" I told him firmly, I silenced all his protests.

"She was just bragging about how Cena will take you guys down and he" Sheamus pointed to Evan. "Agreed with her"

"I did not! Sheamus how can you say this? We jogged together! I thought we bonded!" Sheamus walked away laughing, I've never felt more betrayed. Nexus surrounded me and Evan. I looked at them awkwardly. "How about we all just get to know each other yeah?" Justin swung his hand back and smacked Evan on the back of the head. "I thought that night we had together was special!" I yelled at him and then I shoved him "NOT COOL!" I suddenly felt myself being jerked out of the circle; Wade had thrown me out to get to Evan. I tried to get back in; I even jumped on Justin's back.

"Get her off me!"

Wade put his arms around my waist and pulled me off. I brushed myself down, then I realised what was going on. "Ok! Ok! You've had your fun now leave!" I bent down to help Evan. "Go on! Get" I told them all. Why they won't hurt me, I will never understand, not that I'm not grateful, but I can just use it to my advantage. "Are you ok? Ok that was a stupid question, I'll get some…" I suddenly heard laughing, Sheamus was back. "What the hell Shames? I thought we were like some sort of team"

"Listen fella"

"I'm not a fella"

"Fella, you and me are not a team"

"How can you say that?"

"Easy, you're a loser"

"That's not what you said last night" I then changed my mind. "I'm not going to get into dirty talk with you, go get some help!" I turned back to help Evan. "And FYI I am not a loser!" I could see that Nexus were coming back. "Err Shames, they are back"

He turned around and a panic look spread across his face. "BOO" One of them yelled, pretending to lunge forwards, I didn't flinch at all, but Sheamus, he jumped and ran off screaming.

"SHEAMUS! WAIT FOR ME!" I yelled after him.

"Where is Cena's locker room?" He asked one of the crew members.

"Ok forget it, I'm not going there" I put my hands up, I turned around to see Nexus were still there.

"The offer still stands" Wade said to me.

"So, I slapped Justin, I jumped on his back, I even threw a shoe at him and your still offering me a place?" I asked him surprised, I then turned to Justin. "Sup" He glared at me. "I'm curious guys, why not me? Why do you not hurt me?"

"You tell me" Wade replied, I was confused for a moment, until suddenly I felt his lips crash onto mine. I put my hands on his chest and tried to push away, but I was in shock, I did not expect this at all. I felt him wrap an arm around my waist leaning me into him; I pushed harder against his chest and moved out of his grasp.

"Whoa" Was all I could say. Oh shit, if Randy hears about this…

"See you around" He winked before walking off with his fellow members; I couldn't even mock Justin as he went by because I was so in shock. Yes, I thought he was hot, but I loved Randy, so this doesn't change anything, just made me feel really guilty. I got help for Evan before going back.

"You alright babe?" Randy asked me.

"What? Me? Never better"

"What's happened?"

"What? What do you mean what happened?" I laughed too loudly. Randy took me away from the others.

"Your not going anywhere until you tell me" Him just saying that made me want to cry, I didn't even know my eyes were watering. "Hey hey! What's wrong?" He took my face n my hands and softly stroked under my eye.

"Please don't hate me" I whispered to him.

"Just tell me"

"Wade"

"Wade what?"

"He kissed me" Randy fell silent. "I didn't kiss him back I swear, I pushed him away as soon as it happened, I swear I didn't mean for it to happen, I was just taunting him and then he kissed me and…" Randy cut me off with a kiss of his own.

I closed my eyes as he broke it. "I just didn't want him to be the last to of kissed you"

"Your not angry?"

"Angry yes, at you no" He placed his arm around my waist. "It's not your fault your just so damn cute" He kissed me again. "It's Wade that I'm…wait, yes I should be angry at you, what were you doing near him?"

"I was just talking to Evan and they came along!" I was lying a bit, but also telling the truth.

"Did they hurt you?"

"No"

"I guess I would prefer him to of kissed you rather than to of…" He stopped talking. "Don't worry about it, ok?" I nodded. "I love you so much Mickie, don't ever doubt that" He whispered into my ear as we hugged. We stayed like that for awhile; it reminded me of when we first made up after probably our second fight.

Becky's P.O.V

"I can hear Ted coming."

Ted slipped in the room and said, "Hello peoples! How are you all on this glorious-" He suddenly froze.

"Oh, Ted." Cody nodded, "This is Detective Anderson, he's a private detective, he's trying to work out whose blackmailing us."

'Detective Anderson' was actually a friend of mine who lived locally. He nodded his head and tried to look stern before turning to Cody and I, "Don't worry, I will get to the bottom of this and I can assure that the person will be going away for a long time."

"Great. Thank you, it means a lot." Cody cleared his throat and met my gaze briefly. I looked away quickly, hoping that that would make it look awkward.

'Detective Anderson' nodded his head before leaving. Ted's face had drained of color and he sat down nervously.

"I can't believe someone is blackmailing you." Ted mumbled staring at his feet.

Cody shrugged, "It must be someone we know… we just need to figure out who that person is."

I sighed. Cody said that although Ted often acted like the fool, he was loyal. This had better work.

I widened my eyes, as if I had just thought of something, "Mickie!"

Cody frowned, "What about her?"

"It must be Mickie… I mean… she's wanted us to come clean for some time now and this would be the perfect way to do it!"

Cody pretended to think about it, "You know, I think you must be right! I can't believe she would do this to us!"

"When Randy finds out that she blackmailed me, he's going to be furious! He'll probably break up with her."

"And when Vince finds out, he'll probably fire her. I mean, blackmail is a crime!"

Ted's eyes were getting wider and wider and he was practically sitting on the floor because he had slouched down so far.

"I thought she was our friend! I better call Detective Anderson!"

"Well, she isn't! Only a mean, vile, horrible person would do something like this." Cody nudged Ted, "Right?"

Ted coughed and nodded once, "Right… I mean… I never liked that Mickie… I mean…" he then dropped to his knees and let out a long wail, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."

"Ted?"

"It wasn't Mickie! It was me!" Ted cried, "I only wanted to screw with you guys! I didn't think that it would go this far or so out of hand! It was just a joke! I didn't do it to be cruel! Please don't send me away!"

Cody and I glanced at each other and I looked away quickly as I could feel a smile begging to break onto my face. However, I didn't disguise it well enough because Ted noticed.

"It's not funny! Please don't blame Mickie! She had no idea!"

Cody and I shared another look before I just lost it and started laughing and it only took a second or two for Cody to join in.

"Ted, we've known all along that it was you." Cody told him when we finally stopped laughing.

Ted looked puzzled, "Huh?"

"Cody figured it out as soon as we got the note – and then we broke into your hotel room and saw the newspaper and magazine that you used."

"Anderson is just an old friend of Becky's." Cody added.

"We knew your loyalty to your friends – and especially Mickie – would cause you to break."

Ted stared at us before he, in silence, got to his feet and brushed himself down. He flicked dirt off of his knees before looking at us. He sniffed loudly, pretended to alter a tie and then nodded, "Well played." He then spun around on his heels and left.

"Calm down?" He spat at me. "Why don't you seem that affected by this?" I felt my lip tremble. I hated it when he yelled at me. "You knew about this, didn't you?" I fell quiet. "I'm talking TO YOU" He yelled last part as I tried to turn away.
