"Dad, I have a friend outside," I tell him as I walk down the stairs, "I think we're gonna go for a drive in her car or something. She's not doing well," I lie. "You know, boy problems." I smile at him when I see him take a bite of his sandwich. "I'll be back in an hour or so..."

"Okay, be careful." He says, too preoccupied by whatever he is watching on TV.

I lied, yes, I know, but I'm sure Ray wouldn't have let me go if I told him Christian was outside...or any boy for that matter.

I grab a coat hanging by the door and step outside, wearing last year's Christmas pajamas and fuzzy slippers. Right away, I spot Christian's car. Of course he would be driving a shiny sports car. It fits his personality.

When I got to his car, I see Christian with his eyes closed and head tilted back on the head rest. I knock on the window and he jumps, startled by me. "Oh shit!" He yells as he hits his head on the roof.

I laugh at him and he pouts at me.

He unlocks the doors and motions for me to come in.

"So what am I doing here?" I ask him as I sat down on the passenger side.

"I uh...I want to apologize." He slurrs.

That's when I realized how drunk he was. His car smelled like alcohol; he smelled like alcohol.

"Why are you so drunk?" I snap at him, "Or better yet, why are you driving?!"

He giggles, "Because I'm so confused Aaaa-na. You! You... I don't know what to do with you." He puts his head on the steering wheel and lets out a big sigh. "I was going to Elena. I couldn't get you off of my mind. I wanted to let it all out on Elena but I wanted to go to you, but I know you weren't talking to me. And now I'm here and I just want to be with you. And it's frustrating!" He said it all too fast.

"Christian, let's get you home. Okay?" I reach for his back to comfort him but he stiffens so I quickly pull away. "I'm sorry. Did you get injured there too?" I ask knowing that his ribs are bruised because of Tanner and his friends.

"No...don't take me home. I don't want to go home. Everyone is so damn perfect over there." He mutters through his teeth.

"Okay. Talk to me Christian. What's wrong? Who's Elena? This can't be all just about me. I don't want you, or anyone for that matter, to be getting drunk or getting into fights because of me." I reach for his head and I run my fingers through his hair. "You can trust me."

He raises his head and looks at me. "I can't." I can see tears on his face.

"Oh no...come here, Christian. Come here." I let him place his head on my chest. "Shhhh... It's okay. You don't have to tell me."

For a few minutes, he just keeps sobbing very quietly. It's obvious that he is going through much more than I had expected. I never thought that someone who comes from a perfect family, could be so down. He has everything he could ever want and need. His parents love him. He has siblings that love him. He is beautiful. He could have any girl he could ever want. I keep running my fingers through his hair to comfort him until I realized that it's quiet and he isn't crying anymore.

Damn it. He fell asleep.

I pull my phone out from my pocket with the littlest of movements so the beautiful man who has fallen asleep on me wouldn't wake up. I quickly type a text to Ray.

*Dad, I'm spending the night with Kate, if that's alright?*

*sure. What time do you think you're gonna be home tomorrow? I'm planning a fishing trip with some of the guys at work*

*it's alright, don't wait up for me. We'll probably hit the mall or just hang out*

*ok, you girls have fun*

I text Kate just in case.

*Cover for me. I told Ray I'm spending the night at your house.*

*ANA. WHERE ARE YOU AND WHO ARE YOU SPENDING THE NIGHT WITH?!*

Before I even got to reply, I get another text.

*CHRISTIAN. OMG YOU'RE WITH CHRISTIAN!*

*Yes, but it's not what you think. I'll call you later. I owe you one xoxo*

I pull away from Christian's grasp. I didn't realize he was hugging me this whole entire time. I move his body back to his seat so I can get out of mine. I step out of the car and get to his side to move his body to the passenger side. Crap, this is going to be harder than I thought. I lift his head and push him, making sure he doesn't hit or move any of the car gears. He slumps his whole body sideways on the seat but left his legs on the driver's side. I buckle him in even though he isn't sitting properly. I guess I'll just have to drive carefully. I let his legs rest on my lap. His broken leg has made him so much heavier. I buckle up and start the car.

I took a last big breath before I stepped on the pedal.

The car was such a pleasure to drive. It was smooth and...fast. I had to keep reminding myself not to hit 90mph at a residential area.

I kept driving and driving, without having a destination in mind. I found myself at the marina; the same place Ray used to take me to go fishing. I parked the car and wondered what the hell I was going to do with the unconscious drunk sitting next to me.

"Ana?"

I move my body into a fetal position. Hmm, why is my bed so uncomfortable..?

"Oh crap." I open my eyes and I see Christian staring at me. It's bright outside. "Crap. Crap. Crap. I fell asleep. Christian!"

He chuckles for a second and looks down, shaking his head. "Hi Ana."

"Well, I'm glad you're awake." I snap at him. "Seriously, what were you thinking? You get drunk and come to my house telling me that if I don't come down, you were gonna knock on my door and get me in trouble for the rest of my life! And to make it worse, you were driving! A sports car that could easily go faster than a fucking race car in one second! You could have gotten in an accident! You could have killed someone! You could've killed yourself! You are so frus-" My rambling was disrupted when I felt strong lips on mine. He is kissing me. Again.

I pull away and glare at him.

"I didn't know how to make you shut up." He says with amusement in his voice.

I twist the keys in the ignition, "Let's go, I'm taking you back to your own home."

"Ana, no. I don't want to go home...not yet anyways. I'd like to spend some time with you." His eyes are pleading, "Maybe we can do whatever best friends do. Whatever you and Kate do."

"Okay."

"Just hear me out, I promise I won't do that- wait, did you just say yes?"

"Yes. Now where are we going?"

His face beams and I am thrilled to see him happy and not the drunk and miserable boy that I saw last night.
