"We should never have trusted you!"

"You were with Pitch?!"

"Oh Jack, what have you done?"

"He has to go."

Disappointment, anger, sadness, betrayal.

A near punch. To a child. A child that has been alone so long that they could abandon at any moment they wished.

A child alone for so long they have nobody looking after them.

A child alone for so long they had nobody to teach them about responsibility, maturity.

Nobody to show them control, to teach them about the magic and power they possess.

A child that knew, as they floated 400 feet above the south pole, that nobody ever will.

And thus through away their connection to the wind. Their staff.

As the child fell, they thought that maybe, just maybe, they would be able to meet the family they never knew.

The child's fall ended, and they only saw black. They wondered if this is what death was like.

No.

They were still falling, but much more slowly.

The black faded away to reveal the brightness of the south pole, as hands wrapped around them in a hug, not even close to letting go. Though as they touched the snow covered ground, the mystery person let a few tears fall as they cried, "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I never meant for it to be like this."

The child smiled, knowing that at last someone cared. They looked at the one who had rescued them.

...

"Thank you Pitch." As Jack hugged him back.

Hey Guys, I know! I know! It's all, "Why is Pitch acting like that? It's completely out of character!" Well I kind of wanted to set this in where Pitch has his daughter (Mother Nature) and kind of still has this thing where he misses her deeply, and Jack is the perfect match. He may be all rotten on the outside guys, but even Pitch has a mushy heart. He can certainly help Jack in his loneliness, and what other way than to be a loving father figure hm? Well, if anyone likes these kind of Father and Son relations with Pitch and Jack, I can certainly try my hand at some more!
