How Taking Down Legacy Failed
Mickie's P.O.V
"Morning all" I yawned as I walked in from my bedroom.
"Morning last up as usual" Ted smirked at me.
"Hey, I'm not the last one up…Randy is" I smirked back at him.
"Stupid woman" Ted grabbed my elbow; I yanked it away from him.
"Get off my wenis; I've told you, I'm not that kind of girl!"
"Your wenis isn't impressive anyway" I ignored him as I put Hayden into his buggie. "Going somewhere?"
"Mickie needs her coffee" I told him.
"Teddy shall keep her and his god son company" He smiled, grabbing his jacket. We walked down the corridor, only to be passed by Wade Barrett.
"You know Ted" I said as I watched Wade. "If he wasn't such a bastard, I'd tap that" Suddenly, Wade stopped and turned around. "Oh shit!" I panicked. "Erm, erm, Ted! Really? Didn't know you swung that way"
"What?" Ted's eyes widened. He looked back at Wade. "No! How dare you try and pin this on me!"
Wade narrowed his eyes at us. Justin stood appeared behind him. "Hi Justy!"
"We aren't allowed to talk to him for a month, remember, he went to get Randy, we made the deal!" Ted shushed me.
"He couldn't find Randy, therefore the deal is off, stay here and look after Hayden whilst I make my move" I told him and went up to Justin. "I don't understand why you're avoiding me? You told me you liked me and I really liked you too, I tried to protect you from Kane last week and you can't even return a single call"
Both men narrowed their brows at me. "Wasn't that from a segment?"
"So what if it was, it doesn't make the situation any different" I crossed my arms.
"Mickie James" Wade spoke; I turned my attention to him. "I didn't recognise you without your bump" He laughed maliciously.
"I didn't recognise you without your team of followers" I replied.
"Let's go Wade" Justin said, looking at me with disgust. "We got stuff to plan; we don't need a distraction like her"
"That was in the segment too! Way to run with the theme there Justin, respect!" I put my fist out for a fist bump.
"No."
My bottom lip trembled. "I see how it is…let's go Ted"
"STUPID!" Ted yelled when I came back to him, throwing one of Hayden's toys at the back of Justin's head, he turned angrily towards us.
"Hayden, how many times has mommy told you not to throw your toys? His bad Justin" I grinned at him. "Let's go!" I whispered to Ted.
Later
"My first job? I worked in a restaurant, as a waiter" Ted told me, sitting down opposite me.
"Wow, I really can't imagine that"
"I only lasted a week" He told me, I sniggered. "My boss was being an asshole, whilst in the bathroom; he turned his back on me, so I gave him the finger, mouthed obscenities and pantomimed stabbing him with a knife. He was looking in the mirror and saw everything"
I gasped and had to cover my mouth. "Oh my god"
"Yeah, tell me about it…my uncle was the boss as well, hasn't spoke to me since"
"That is the funniest thing I've heard all day"
"It's only ten am"
"That's not the point Ted" I glared at him for trying to make me feel stupid.
So then, Ted, my best friend of over a year looked at me and said, "Sometimes I just want to hit you"
I threw a packet of sugar at him and went to get our cups of coffee. When I came back, I tripped but managed to save the coffees. Ted found this highly amusing and couldn't stop laughing. "Oh you bitch, you didn't put any sugar in my coffee" He got up to get it himself, still laughing over my trip. He was still laughing at me when he dropped his sugar; he bent over to pick up his lid when his trousers fell down!
"Oh my god" I had tears coming down my eyes at his face expression. He tried to pull up his trousers at the same time as trying to pick up his sugar, he just couldn't do both. I took advantage and took a picture on my phone and sent it to Cody and Becky.
"Well that was embarrassing" Ted finally said, after getting his sugar and his trousers up. "Stop laughing!"
"I'm sor-" I giggled. "ry, that was just too funny, that was karma Theodore"
"Didn't you enjoy that" I asked Hayden, tickling his stomach; he responded my kicking his leg. "Yes you did my baby" I turned back to Ted who looked unamused. "I would love so much if that was in the paper tomorrow"
"I wouldn't" He glared. "Moving on, baby" I let out another laugh. "Shall I wait for you to finish?"
"I'm ok, I'm ok" I held my hands up. "Go on"
"About what you said last night" I nodded. "What did you mean?"
"I mean that I'm going to make him remember" I told him.
"How?"
"I don't know, I'm willing to try anything…do things we used to do, go places we used to go, maybe something will come back to him" Ted looked at me doubtfully. "I'm desperate here Ted"
"I guess it's worth a try" He sighed. "What are you going to try?"
"I think I'm going to go with places first" I said to him, taking a sip of my coffee.
"What places?"
"The hospital where Hayden was born, the karaoke bar we went to" I sniggered at the flashback. "Any places where I knew Randy loved to go"
"He loved to go to the karaoke bar?" Ted asked me.
"Yeah, but only because he found it hilarious to see you and Cody sing"
"It wasn't funny, I'm a good singer!"
I just laughed and shook my head.
Later
"So tell me again, why we were at the hospital?" Randy asked me in confusion. I had taken him back to the place Hayden was born and nothing, nothing came back to him like I had hope. We were now in front of our next location.
"I thought this was the place where my friend was staying" I lied, shifting my eyes. "I must be wrong…so do you want to go to a karaoke bar?" He cocked up an eye brow. "Great! Let's go" I grabbed his hand.
"I got a better idea" He tugged on my hand and pulled me roughly into him, I tripped and supported myself with his arms. I looked up at him, his nostrils flared and he went to kiss me. He hungrily attacked my lips, holding my wrists.
"Randy" I mumbled against his lips.
"What?" He mumbled back but had no intension of stopping.
"Karaoke bar"
He sighed and broke the kiss. "Can't we just go there lat-" I used my cute face which the old Randy could not stand to say no to. "Fine, let's go, but I'm not singing"
I grabbed his hand and dragged him in. There wasn't a huge crowd tonight, but that was good because Becky was able to get us the exact same table as last time. "Déjà vu ay" She laughed as we sat down.
"What?" Randy asked her.
"Oh erm, it just feels like we've been here before, aren't you getting that feeling?" Becky asked him.
"No."
"Worth a try" I whispered to her. "Maybe it will come back to him when they start singing.
"No! No! There is no way I am going to do this, not again" I heard Cody yell in the background.
"I will be right back" I told Becky and Randy. I rushed up to Cody and Ted. "What is the problem here?"
"Dashing here, refuses to do it" Ted shoved him. "Why not? We were amazing last time! Well I was….but you know practise makes perfect Cody"
"Codyyy" I whinged, stamping my feet like a child.
"I'm not doing it! It was humiliating enough last time, but to re-live it? Absolutely not" Cody crossed his arms.
"Please Codykins? For me?" I pouted. "Randy didn't remember the place, but maybe he might remember you and Ted singing, I mean…it was hard to forget" I laughed but then turned serious. "Please?" I put the sad face out.
"Fine!" He groaned. "But you owe me!"
"Love you Codykins!" I hugged him.
"Let's go!" Ted grabbed Cody's wrist and dragged him towards the stage.
"I hate my life" Cody cried out.
I went back down and sat next to Becky, I gave her a thumbs up. "What the hell are they doing?" Randy said seeing that Cody and Ted were on stage.
"Oh, I think they are going to sing" Becky said acting oblivious. Cody was giving us death glares from the stage; I blew him a kiss back.
"We're soarin', flyin'" Ted started off singing, like before, his voice was low. My god this was like being back in time. "There's not a star in heaven, That we can't reach"
"If we're trying, So we're breaking free" Cody sang through clenched teeth.
"But your faith it gives me strength, Strength to believe" They sang united softly. I looked over at Randy; he was just starring at them with disbelief that they were up there. I sighed.
"It's not working" I whispered to Becky.
"I'm sorry Mickie" She offered a small smile. I didn't know what I was expecting to happen, him just remembering and telling me he was sorry? It was just a karaoke bar, I need to think bigger.
We're breakin' free!" Ted sang/screamed into his microphone.
"Think we should tell them they don't have to do it anymore?" Becky asked me.
"Not a chance, I need something to cheer me up"
An hour later
"I'm never setting foot in that karaoke bar again" Cody muttered as we walked into our room.
"It's not like you were force up there" Randy rolled his eyes, Cody glared at me, I sent him an innocent smile.
"I don't know about you, but I had a great time, did you see me up there? I'm amazing" Ted said with a smug look upon his face.
"Oh Theodore, I love you" I put my arms around him; he didn't even attempt to hug me back.
Instead, he whispered to himself "…why do the annoying chicks always want me?"
"Oi!" I slapped the back of his head. "C'mon Hayden, let's get you to bed my tired little man" I walked into my room and put my sleepy baby in his crib. I stroked the top of head and he settled, he was shattered after the day we had. I turned to the door to see Randy starring. "hey, you sleeping in here tonight?" He nodded. "Good"
"So today was…" He started, but looked down chuckling slightly. "Strange, what was going on?"
"What do you mean?" I asked nervously, trying to play the dumb card.
"It just seems that there is this secret, that I'm not in on" He spoke slowly, his eyes bulging into my mine.
"I think your just being paranoid" I told him.
"Maybe your right" He stepped into the room more and slid on his shirt and trouser. "Bed?"
"Yeah just let me get Hayden's toy" I said, trying to tear my eyes away from his abs, you would of thought after seeing them everyday for months I would get used to how hot he is, but he still manages to take my breath away. I finally pulled myself away and went into the lounge.
"I'm sorry today didn't plan out how you wanted it to baby" Ted said rubbing my hand.
"It's ok, I just have to try harder"
"Baby…"
"I'm not giving up Ted, I know he is going to remember, but until then I can't sit back and wait for it"
"I just hope you know what your doing"
"I do, today was just amateur play, there is still more stuff I can do" Ted looked at me doubtfully. He didn't understand, he wasn't going through this, my heart hurt so much thinking that Randy isn't here, it feels like he has died but his spirit is still haunting me, I needed to bring him back to me, I needed him and so does Hayden.
"Ok" Ted said, he then looked up at me and smile. "If that's what you want to do, I'll be right there behind you"
"Thank you" I whispered to him, he nodded. "Night" I walked back into the room and gave Hayden his toy, pulled my skirt and top off and slipped in next to Randy.
"Your strange, you know that" Randy said to me.
"Is that a bad thing?" He didn't answer me, he just continued to study me. "And you say I'm strange"
