Maria's theme song is I Get Off by Halestorm, check it out!

On with the show! :)

It had been a week since Maria's debut. An entire week and she was no closer to catching the stalker than she had been before going on national television and making out with CM Punk. To say she was frustrated would be an understatement and the constant phone calls from Graham were not helping. She liked her boss, she really did, and she would do anything for him, but if he didn't leave her the hell alone she was going to have to shoot him. He had never nagged her as much as he had on this case and it was getting real old, real fast. Maria knew it was a high profile case with the WWE being a multi billion dollar industry with international reach, but if her boss of ten years didn't trust her to bring this one home, who would?

Phil watched Maria getting ready in idle amusement. Her movements were clipped and it would be obvious to anyone that walked in the room that she was tense.

"Babe, you've got to relax." Phil finally broke the silence as he finished pulling on his kick pads.

"You relax. I've been on this case for a month and I'm no closer to finishing it than I was when I started." Maria glared at him through the mirror, slamming her makeup brush down a little harder than necessary.

Phil stood up and walked over to stand behind her. "That's not true. You figured out the connection between AJ and Maryse and the stalker's motive behind picking them."

"Yeah, well if I figured out his motive and I was right why hasn't he tried anything with me?" Maria challenged.

"It's only been a week."

Maria went to rake her hands through her hair but stopped, not wanting to have to fix the perfect curls she had spent half an hour on. "Ugh, it's just so frustrating not having any answers for anyone. Graham is driving me mad and I'm sure your bosses think I'm a joke at this point. I feel completely useless."

"Come on princess, don't say that."

"And I don't want your sympathy." Maria stood and faced him. She knew she was probably being a bitch and he didn't deserve to have her frustrations taken out on him, but at the moment he was the only one there so he was just out of luck.

Phil didn't back down at her snappy tone. "Then what do you want?"

"I want to catch the bastard!"

"Alright then, let's see what we can do about that."

AJ stood in the middle of the ring in front of a sold out crowd at RAW with Dolph by her side, microphone in hand. "I'm out here tonight for one reason and one reason only and that's to find out just who the hell that red headed piece of trash was that attacked me last week. I know you're back there somewhere so you better come out now. You don't want to make me come find you."

I get off on you,

Getting off on me,

Give you what you want,

But nothing is for free,

It's a give and take kind of love we make,

When the line is crossed,

I get off.

Halestorm's 'I Get Off' blared through the speakers and purple and white lights lit up the arena. This time when Maria made her entrance she wasn't in a hurry, nor was she nervous. The sexy hard rock song gave her the confidence to walk down the ramp like she had done it all her life. Cat calls and whistles echoed around her and she let it all sink in with a smirk Phil would be proud of. She wore a tight black mini dress with a cut out neck line and criss-cross back that exposed her tan skin to just above her butt. Black pumps made her already long legs even longer and the audience made sure their appreciation for her outfit choice was heard. Slipping under the second rope Maria entered the ring with her own microphone.

AJ eyed Maria up and down. "I see WWE has once again gone with the model option when picking their new Divas."

Maria faked a laugh at AJ's jibe. "Well, they decided there was only room for one teenage girl on the roster at a time, so..." AJ's face turned into a scowl as Maria trailed off, obvious about what she was implying. "There's that anger again. It's like every time I see you there's all this tension that's just about to explode. I mean, I would think you would be happier. You're with Dolph now and you haven't cost him a championship match yet, which by the way, is quite the milestone for you."

"Whoa! Okay, I don't know who you think you are, but you don't talk to my girlfriend that way." Dolph jumped in before AJ really lost it.

"Dolph, I almost forgot about you back there. I see you're still rocking that Abercrombie and Bitch look. It suits you, really. The bitch part I mean." The crowd cheered in agreement and laughter as Dolph seethed and kicked the bottom rope in frustration.

AJ screeched and just as she went for Maria, the opening chords of CM Punk's music hit and she froze. The WWE champ waltzed out onto the ramp to the delight of the crowd and Maria said her final words, "Oh right, I almost forgot. My name is Maria and I'm CM Punk's girlfriend. We'll see you this Sunday." Maria blew AJ a kiss, mocking the Diva's Champion's usual gesture before winking and walking back up the ramp and into the arms of her man.

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Phil picked Maria up and twirled her around once they were backstage and away from prying eyes. "I knew you had it in you. If that doesn't get the stalker's attention, I don't know what will."

Maria's smile lit up her face. "You think?"

"I don't think, I know. That was great." Phil sat her down, but continued to hold her close.

"I have to admit, that was pretty fun."

"Who knows, if the whole super agent thing doesn't work out, maybe you could get a job here." Phil said, only half way joking.

"Shut up." Maria laughed and shoved his shoulder playfully.

"I'm not kidding." Phil's face turned serious. "I mean, would it really be that bad if you stopped working for Graham? All you've done is complain about him recently anyways. We would be able to travel together and you really would make one hell of a wrestler."

Maria's smile faded. "Phil, my job is my life. I like being with you, I do, but that fact hasn't changed."

"That job isn't going to always be there for you though, I will, if you give me a chance."

"You can't honestly expect me to leave my job. We've only known each other for a month." Maria didn't mean to sound harsh, but the thought of leaving her job for a man was scary. Even scarier was that part of her wanted to do just that. Maybe getting involved with Phil was a mistake. The last time she had let her heart do the thinking it had only led to trouble.

"I don't expect you to do anything. What I'm asking is when this case is over, what's going to happen to us? Do you plan on going back to New York and Graham like nothing ever happened? Because that's not what I want."

"I don't know what will happen when this case is over. I've never been in this situation before and it scares the hell out of me. My job has always come first because it's the only thing that has never let me down and I'm sorry if it's not what you want to hear, but I have a hard time believing that eventually you won't let me down like all the others have before you. There's a reason I don't let myself get involved with people while I'm working. It's because inevitably that case is going to end and we're both going to go our separate ways. And sure, it was great while it lasted, but if life has taught me anything, it's that good things never last for long." Maria's voice was full of emotion and tears threatened to overflow. This was the first time she had really been made to think about their relationship and how it would be affected when she left.

Phil stepped towards her, wanting to comfort her. "Maria-"

She held her hands up to stop him. "I think I just need some space right now. I'll get a hotel room and catch a ride with someone else."

"Maria, don't do this."

"I'll see you at the next show." Maria's words were final and she quickly escaped down the hallway to gather her things. She needed some time to think, and she couldn't do that with Phil around.

Phil kept to himself the rest of the show, only coming out of his locker room for his match. He was shoving his things into his bag when Kofi walked in. "Hey man, what's up with you tonight? You don't seem like yourself. Not that you're usually a social butterfly, but still."

"It's nothing, I'm just ready to get on my bus so I can get some sleep." Phil answered, trying to stuff his kick pads into his duffel bag, but getting no where.

"What'd those things ever do to you?" Kofi asked, referring to the gear that was being forced roughly into Punk's bag.

Phil sighed and ran a hand over his face. "Maria and I had a fight."

"A fight? About what?"

"It wasn't even really a fight I guess. I asked her what she planned on doing once this case she's working on wraps up and if she planned on doing it with me. She got all upset saying that her job comes first and that she doesn't know what the future holds and then said she needed space to think." Phil filled Kofi in on his earlier conversation.

"So she didn't say whether or not this thing y'all have is long term because she doesn't know what the future holds and she's committed to her job?" Kofi paused. "That doesn't remind you of anyone, does it?"

"What are you talking about?"

"For a guy who strives to live in the present and not worry about the future you sure are concerned about the future. Look, all I'm saying is just because she didn't have an answer for you that doesn't mean she doesn't want to be with you. I mean, she's with you now, right?" Kofi asked.

"Well, yeah." Phil answered, a little grudgingly.

"And you like being with her, right?"

"Of course I like being with her. That's the problem. I think I'm falling in love with a girl who could leave at any time." Phil was surprised at his own words, as was Kofi. It had only been a month, but he had never felt so strongly about another person before. When he was with Maria, things just felt right and he was afraid of losing that. Kofi didn't have time to recover with a response before Phil had grabbed his bag and headed out the door. "I'll talk to you later, I have to go."

Maria sat in her hotel room reading the latest blogs about herself and Phil. It was still kind of surreal to see herself on dirt sheets being talked about by complete strangers. The general consensus was the guys thought she was hot and the girls hated her for being with Punk. At least most people were buying the story, saying the pictures of them together offscreen proved they were really together. She had just gotten off the phone with Graham who seemed pleased with the progress, despite the fact that she still had no new leads. He had even mentioned that they did make a nice couple and seemed to have good chemistry. If he only knew, Maria thought. Closing her laptop Maria laid back against the pile of pillows the hotel had provided. She was glad she was able to get a decent room so last minute, but she couldn't help but miss sharing the bed with Phil. She ran their earlier conversation through her head for the hundredth time that night. She didn't like the way things had ended and knew she needed to talk to him, but tonight she needed to be alone. She'd spent so much time with him over the last four weeks it was like she had forgotten what it was like to be alone. Like she had forgotten what it was like to not have someone to talk to whenever she wanted or to have someone hold her in their arms while they watched old movies. To not have someone breathing beside her to lull her to sleep. She had known from the beginning that choosing to start something with Phil had its risks, but she hadn't known she would fall so hard for him. He was just so genuine and caring and unlike any other guy she had ever been with. She could imagine a future with him; traveling around the world together and experiencing new things, each of them always having the other's back. At the same time the thought of giving up her job terrified her because what if things didn't work out? What would she be left with? A broken heart and without the job she loved? Maria sighed, it was a lot to think about, but right now what she needed was sleep.

Just as she finished getting ready for bed there was a knock at the door. Grabbing the robe provided by the hotel she opened the door a few inches and looked out. A young woman dressed in the hotel's uniform was waiting on the other side with an arm full of roses.

"These were delivered for you, ma'am." The girl held out the bouquet of blood red roses and Maria took them carefully.

"Thank you." Maria smiled, looking for a card to say who they were from, even though she knew they were from Phil. "Did the person bringing them leave a name?"

"No ma'am, they were delivered by the flower shop."

"Oh, okay, well thank you."

"Yes ma'am."

Maria closed the door and placed the flowers on the night stand before grabbing her phone and typing out a text message to Phil.

Thank you for the flowers. I'll see you tomorrow and we can talk. xoxo Maria

Maria sat on the edge of her bed and brought the flowers up to her face to breathe in the sweet scent. A few seconds later her phone chirped with a new message. Maria opened it quickly, but the smile on her face faded as soon as she read the text.

What flowers? - Phil
