I have not touched this story in forever, but in my profile it says this will be completed so I want to finish this. I don't know if I'll be completing any other stories I have going on at the moment just because it has been so long. Anyway, I am only going to have a few many more chapters in this. I'm aiming at six tops. If there was anyone still reading this I apologize for the long wait and drop in quality in this chapter. I'm super rusty, but hopefully I can shake it and complete this story properly.
Chapter 3: A Sudden Stop
It was night, Osaka sat alone at her desk with nothing more than a desk lamp as illumination. She aggressively tapped a pencil against a sheet of paper with a few paragraphs on it. She was writing the second note that tied in with her revenge scheme. It was nearly complete, but she was beginning to feel a bit stiff.
Osaka stood up and reached her arms straight above and head and clasped her hands together. She elongated her torso and lifted one leg out to the side. There was a loud, satisfying snap in her lower back. She slowly let her pose go lax with a slight groan. After her rejuvenating stretch, Osaka felt she could continue her letter. She sat back down in her chair and picked up her pencil. Just as she touched the tip to the paper, her phone began ringing. She quickly glanced at it, "Chiyo" flashed on her screen. Osaka reached out her hand, just as she was about to grab her noisy device she hesitated. A quick thought flashed through her mind, instead of answering it was easier to silence the ring. She did so.
Osaka then continued to write the letter for Kagura. There was nothing special about as of yet, it was nothing more than an ego-stroke for her target, a bombast of her physical prowess, agility, grace, and, of course, beauty. Kagura was sure to eat up every word without even questioning the authenticity of the note. Osaka was keen to her vanity and made a point to tease it, at least for now. Eagerly the revenge-driven girl jotted down the finishing bits of her note. She was just on the last sentence, when her phone once again sounded, flashing "Chiyo" on the front screen. Osaka was about to prematurely end the call, when she noticed it was not a call at all. It was a text from her her little friend. She saw no harm in reading the text to see what Chiyo was trying to reach her for. She picked up her phone and flipped it open.
"Please give me a call, I need to talk to you about the letter you left for Kagura earlier. She told me she got a letter from a boy. What are you trying to do?"
Osaka set her phone down and then smacked herself on the head, "What's wrong with ya?" She thought to herself, " Why would ya think that Kagura wouldn't tell Chiyo-chan." Osaka pumped her arms vigorously, "Ya gotta get on the ball, girl!"
After motivating herself a bit, she picked up her phone to respond to the suspecting child. She tapped the keys of her phone with her thumbs, stumbling a bit as she did not enjoy communicating in such ways, "Srry, I messed yur call Chiya-cha, but I did giv Kagara a note from a bo y earlier. He gve itto mi to giv to her."
Her text was ripe with typos, she looked at it with a dark smile, "I'm gettin' better at this textin' thing" She quickly hit the send button. She was sure that would appease Chiyo and her suspicion. Her plan was beginning to fall into place.
At Chiyo's House, there was a soft vibration on her work desk. The child jumped up from her bed, on which she lay. She snatched up her phone, "Ah!" She anxiously read Osaka's text, then shook her her head and sighed. Chiyo responded.
"I see your texting skills have improved a bit." Chiyo cringed as she typed that sentence, "Also, I was just worried, but I now see how everything with the letter makes sense." Guiltily, the pig-tailed girl place her thumb on the send key. She inhaled a breath and hesitated for a second, before letting her puff of air out. She then closed her eyes and fully pressed the button.
"Osaka, I want to believe you." Chiyo whispered to herself. She scrolled down her contact list and stopped on "Sakaki".
Back in Osaka's room, she had just finished reading Chiyo's text and already placed her phone back on the the desk. Quickly she wrapped up the final sentence words of the letter and placed it in her school bag ready to for Kagura in the morning. She couldn't just put it in Kagura's desk like before, though, she needed to be more crafty.
The next morning, Miss Yukari's class sat in their seats awaiting the arrival of their teacher. The students half-way expected to see her as early as she arrived the other day, but the woman's lack of responsibility seemed to pull through once again. A few minutes passed, she still had time to make it to class on starting time, but by no means by the time a teacher was expected to arrive. The quiet murmur of tired students whispering amongst themselves was put to silence as the growing sound of footsteps stampeding down the hall. The steps came to a screeching abrupt end outside the door to the class. Swiftly, the door slid open, there stood Miss Yukari. She politely yawned with her hand over her mouth and sipped a gas station to-go coffee before casually walking to her desk, "Everyone," She announced, "What do you notice about me today?"
The class stared dumbfounded, unsure on how the question was meant to be answered. A few students shuffled uncomfortably in their seats.
"Answer Dam-Darn it." The woman censored herself, she clearly wanted to curse. A boy chuckled.
"Who was that?" Yukari sternly asked jolting ehr her head left and right, "Answer!" she slamming her fist onto her desk. A few students jumped, Chiyo looked around cautiously and then sheepishly raised her hand. She felt that maybe it was time for someone to step up. Yukari popped an eye at the child, "Ah, our resident tattle."
Sakaki sneered at her teacher's response.
"Uh, I-I'm don't know laughed, but I would like to try to answer your question." Yukari, smiled with determination and nodded. Chiyo could tell she was put up to a challenge, but was fearful that her honest answer may be offensive, "You-um are..." Chiyo retreated her head into her shirt slightly, like a cowering turtle, "You are on time?"
Yukari froze upon hearing her words, then carefully sat down her cup of coffee, "Excuse me?" she questioned with slight offense in her voice. Chiyo began to backed down further. "Excuse me?" repeated Yukari even louder.
Chiyo's eyes widened, "Um...um... sorry, i didnt't mean it like that."
"Little Miss-Always-On-Time, Insulting your teacher." Yukari picked up a small stack of papers on from her desk and approached Chiyo in an animalistic fasion. her hand fervishly rolling the papers up.
Chiyo covered her head, "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry...please don't-"
"Enough!" A strong female voice shouted, immediately stopping the crazed Yukari. Everyone turned to the source of the voice, Sakaki. She stood valiant, but grew embarrassed as she felt the presence of eyes shifting to her. She looked down with a red face and sat down in her seat.
"Relax, Sakaki, I was just having a little fun with our little Chiyo-chan." Miss Yukari raised the rolled papers above the tiny, frightened girl, "Chiyo! You are ABSOLUTELY...wrong! I am actually early again. I walked out to get this coffee here. You did notice I came in without papers right? Did you really think I would come in unprepared?" she so slightly tapped, Chiyo on the head, "I'm early, everyone. Yeah, sorry, about that, Chiyo, I wasn't planning on taking it that far, but to be honest you really piss me off sometimes. You're just too cute and it makes me want just-"Yukari grunted heavily and slammed her fist into her hand, "Ya know, place a nice heavy one on you. It's a compliment my little Chihuahua." Yukari walked to desk muttering "so cute" under her breath.
Chiyo had lost all color by the end of the incident, she leaned back in her chair, "Alive? Am I...alive?"
Sakaki frowned, wondering how an adult could harbor such immaturity. Kagura leaned over to the tall young woman and whispered, "Hey, Sakaki, what was that all about?"
Sakaki whispered back, "Oh, uh, I don't know. I hope I didn't offend Miss Yukari, but she was starting to bring it scare Chiyo."
"I thought it was pretty awesome. I would have said something, but you beat me to the punch." Kagura winked.
Sakaki nodded firmly, "Yeah, of course."
Osaka overheard the boasting of Kagura and pouted a bit. She always said she could or would do something, but only followed through when it suited her interests. As far as Osaka was concerned the girl was a just a liar. A feeling bubbled in her stomach, she had an itch to continue her with a revenge scheme. She wanted to see some sort of justice issued to Kagura for what she did. It only seemed appropriate.
Later on, after an almost unbearable class with Miss Yukari, Osaka found herself rushing to the roof. It was crucial to get there first and place the letter so that it could be found easily. At the moment, everyone had stayed a few minutes behind to talk briefly with Miss Yukari about her behavior. As she left the classroom earlier she swore she heard Yomi threaten to sic Nyamo on her. Osaka smiled at the thought of the gym teacher having so much control over Miss Yukari. It was the last thought she had as she opened the door to the roof. Immediately, she slapped the letter down in an accessible area and let sat herself down to rest. She panted heavily as she wasn' t used to such activity.
A few minutes passed before Osaka saw the door to the roof creak open. Yomi popped her head through the doorway. She walked toward Osaka, who sat still a bit pooped. Osaka watched as Yomi approached, behind her it seemed there was no one else.
"Hiya, Yomi." Osaka greeted with a smile.
"Hey, Osaka, what's up?" Yomi placed her hands on her hips with a smirk.
"Where is everyone else?" Osaka queried.
Yomi looked behind her at the lack of people, "Well, Tomo is with Kagura, probably annoying her at this point. Chiyo is with Sakaki, they are still talking with Miss Yukari."
"Are they gonna join us?"
Yomi leaned towards Osaka, " Well, Sakaki is going to join us. Chiyo and Tomo will be staying with Kagura."
Osaka sat slightly confused, looking up at the tall figure before her, she blinked as she gathered her thoughts, "Huh?"
