Chapter 12 Trying To Relax

Normal POV

As soon as Jazz and Nightshadow left the base the kids got up from the couch and ran to the kitchen to make popcorn which would probably end in a huge mess. As they began to make popcorn Arcee and Wheeljack walked in and saw the kids begin to make popcorn. "Whoa there! I hope you guys aren't trying to make a mess. Remember last time you tried to make popcorn, it ended badly," said Wheeljack. They all remembered that time and how they had made a total mess of the common room and how Lennox yelled at them and told them that they would stay at the base all night if they didn't clean it up. "Well, you and Arcee can supervise us in case that happens again," said Miko. Arcee just smiled, but Wheeljack's optics widen in horror, he didn't want to be around if that happened again. "How about I take care of the popcorn then we won't have a mess," said Wheeljack as he grabbed the popcorn from Miko. Miko sighed and handed the popcorn to Wheeljack. "Lets get this party started," shouted Miko. Jack, Miko,Raf, Alexis,Billy Rad, Carlos, and Fred ran towards the TV room with Sam and Mikala running after them. "Don't worry. We'll make sure that the kids won't destroy anything else" said Sam as he and Mikala ran after the others. Arcee and Wheeljack sighed, hopefully Nightshadow and Jazz are having a relaxing time.

At the drive in...

Jazz and Nightshadow had just gotten in and were parking the car. "Hey. I'll get some snacks for us. What do you want?" Asked Nightshadow. "How bout some candy and popcorn," replied Jazz. He watched as Nightshadow walked off to get the snacks and he tuned the radio to the station that the movie would be playing on. Soon Nightshadow arrived back at the car, arms full with popcorn and candy. "I got the snacks. Did you get the radio set up?" asked Nightshadow as she climbed into the car. "Yep. Everything is ready. Are you sure you want to watch this movie?" replied Jazz. Nightshadow began to shake, she remembered that she had agreed to watch a scary movie with him. "Yep I'm ready. Bring on the scary movie," she replied. Suddenly the movie began with a piercing scream which caused Nightshadow to grab Jazz's arm. "Hehehe. The fierce Nightshadow is scared of scary movies? I'm going to enjoy this movie," chuckled Jazz. Nightshadow grabbed a box of chocolate raisins and whacked Jazz with it. "Ouch!" Yelped Jazz. Nightshadow sighed, this was going to be a long night.

Back at base...

Lennox's POV

Well things are going pretty well right now. Nightshadow and Jazz went to a movie, Arcee and Wheeljack are watching the children with Sam and Mikala helping. I'm stuck here at base but whatever. I'm just laying back on the couch in my room watching G.I Joe on my TV. As I'm watching the movie Miko comes running into my room screaming. "What is going on Miko?" I asked as Miko was screaming. "There's a spider in the common room," she replied. I raised an eyebrow, a little spider is really that scary to a girl who deals with decepicons. "Why don't you crush it Miko? Its not that hard to kill a spider," I chuckled. She didn't say anything and turned around and stormed out of my room. I continued to chuckle as she left, a little spider vs Miko, who would win in this epic show down? I returned to my movie, I hope that I won't be bothered again this evening. I sigh and unpause the movie and get back to relaxing. But suddenly Jack comes into my room. "I'm sorry to bother you but we kind of blew up a microwave. It was all Wheeljack's fault so when you have time or when your not busy, you might want to tell Optimus or Nightshadow," said Jack. I sigh and say "okay. I'll talk to Optimus about it. Just try to enjoy the rest of the evening." He nods and leaves my room in a hurry. I lean back into my pillows and continue to enjoy the rest of my relaxation time. Hopefully nobody will bother me the rest of the evening.

Optimus' POV

As I sit in my room I can hear the sound of the children laughing in their common room. I sigh as the noise in their area steadily grows louder and louder. I look down at my desk, it was littered with mission reports that I still had to go over then turn over to Captain Lennox. Soon I heard Ratchet began to yell at someone in the common room. I sighed, it was probably Miko that Ratchet was yelling at. I shake my head and get back to work on the reports on my desk. Suddenly I hear a bang and my entire room begins to shake. "By the allspark." Suddenly someone came running by my room screaming and laughing. "Optimus, You've got to help me," said Ratchet as he stumbled into my room, banged up and covered in popcorn. "What happened to you, Ratchet? Why are you covered in popcorn?" I asked him. "Miko brought popcorn, but she realized that she forgot that the human hang out room doesn't have a microwave. So Wheeljack tried to build one, but it exploded. Then things got crazy and Miko had a brought paint and began to paint the other children's faces," replied Ratchet. I looked at him and tried not to laugh. "How about you put one of the kid's movies into the TV so that they can watch it," I replied to him. Ratchet looked dumbfounded and left my room grumbling and headed towards the human's hang out room. I sigh to myself, hopefully the rest of the evening is quiet and peaceful.

Ratchet's POV

I can't believe it. I'm stuck making sure that the human children don't destroy the entire base. As I sit on the couch in my human form I notice that some of the children had started to fall asleep. "Arcee, I'll be back in a few minutes. I'm getting the sleeping bags from the storage closet," I said to Arcee. She nodded and I walked out of the room to grab the sleeping bangs out of the closet. As I make my way to the closet I reflect on the why I had agreed on keeping a optic on the children. Soon I got to the closet and I reached and opened the door. I saw that the closet was filled with things. My optics widend and without warning all of the stuff came falling down onto me. "GAH!" I yelled as the stuff tumbled down onto me. As I layed under the fallen objects I heard footsteps coming in my direction. "HELP!" I cried out. "Hey Ratchet. Whatcha doing on the floor?" The voice asked. I sat up in the mess of objects and saw that it was Jazz looking down on me. "Could you help me up" I said. Jazz held out his hand to me and I took it. "How was your movie?" I asked Jazz. "It was good. Nightshadow got scared easily. So I'm going to spend the night with her," said Jazz. I watched as he rubbed the back of his neck and said, "Yeah. I think I choose a too scary movie for Nightshadow. She's really shaken up." Jazz helps me pick up the stuff and put it back in the closet and helps carry the sleeping bags to the children's hang out room. "Well I got to go Ratchet," said Jazz. I looked at him and nodded. I knew that scary movies aren't really Nightshadow's cup of energon. I watched as Jazz said good night to the children and left the room. "Okay everyone. Go get changed into your pajamas and get into your sleeping bags," I replied. I passed out the sleeping bags to each of the children and watched them head towards the bathrooms to get changed and brush their teeth. Soon the humans came back and crawled into their sleeping bags. "If you guys need me, I'll be in my room. So just come on in if you need something," I told them. The children nodded their heads and snuggled into their sleeping bags, "Good night Ratchet." I smiled and walked out of the human's common room and headed towards my room. As I made my way towards my room I heard a squeal come from Nightshadow's room and I knew that Jazz had probably scared Nightshadow which caused her to scream. I chuckled to myself, Jazz was in for a rough night with Nightshadow being scared. My night had be okay but I felt sorry for the others.
