Memories::::
I wake up on a ground covered in ash. What happened here? I look down to see that I am covered in ashes as well. I cough, trying to get ash out of my lungs. There were lots of burnt trees and stumps. Why am I the only one here? I stand up, only to fall back down again by a sharp pain.
I yelp, and smash my butt back down on the ground. I hear someone calling out for someone. "NETTENA! NETTENA WHERE ARE YOU?!"
I flinch as the voice comes closer and becomes louder. Soon a woman, about of thirty-five, comes running through the ashes falling from the sky, appearing right in front of me. She looks down on me, her nose wrinkling up and her eyes tearing. I couldn't tell if she was happy to see me or if she was just now getting affected by the ashes in the air. "What would your name be, dear?" she asked gently.
"I have no recollection of my memories. For now, my name is unimportant. Who were you calling for?" I asked, monotone. She smiled. "I was searching for my daughter, Annettena, but I have found you instead. Would you mind coming with me, little one? A child shouldn't stay out here in these ashes. My daughter and I have a house a little ways from here. Are you interested?" she asked.
I stared at her hand, which she had extended out towards me. "If I come with you, will you tell me what had happened in these forests and help me look for my family if I have any?" I asked her.
Tears fell from her eyes for some reason. She nodded, and said shakily, "Of course, of course."
"Thank you…"
A hand reaches into the water as I fall to the bottom of the pond. I smile. I guess it won't be my end after all.
Okay so yeah this is a really short chapter, but I'm trying to fill you in on the person's background with their memories. So, just hang in there :D
