To answer dairxoxo, I will not make a sequel, I will however continue to write Dair story's. Thank you for your support!
Alright hopefully you enjoy this!
It was dead silent in the Humphrey livingroom. Dan was leaning on his elbows with his parents sitting across from him. Alison was staring at him, her blue eyes more icy than he'd ever seen them and Rufus was leaning back in his chair looking more tired than anything. They had talked, more like argued, for an hour and Dan felt emotionally drained.
"You are not dictating my life for me." He finally said, breaking the silence.
"That's not what we're trying to do." Rufus answered.
"You are just a child Daniel, you don't know any better, we do."
"I'm not a kid anymore mom." He looked at Alison with a pained expression. "I am doing everything right."
"That girl is going to ruin everything you've worked for. Everything we've worked for."
"Why? Because she's not from the Upper East Side? Because she's not Vanessa?" He stood up and started pacing.
"Because she's a stripper!" Alison's voice raised and Rufus put a calming hand on her shoulder.
"How many times do I have to say it? She's not a stripper!" He yelled in frustration. "She's a girl that works as a dancer, not a stripper, and still manages to get straight A's, she's a girl that crap has happened too and she took what was handed to her and dealt with it because she doesn't have parent's who gives her whatever she wants." He stopped pacing and looked at his dad before continuing quietly. "She's like you dad. She fight's for what she wants and one day she's going to reach those goals."
"She'll never fit in." Alison ignored him and stood up too. "I'm going to go lie down, this conversation is giving me a headache." Dan and Rufus watched as sh excited the dining room swiftly.
"Dad..." He sighed, rubbing his temples "I can't do this. I need you to be on my side."
Rufus looked at him a few seconds in silence.
"You're still going to Dartmouth? This girl isn't going to change that?"
Dan nodded his eyes never leaving Rufus as he stood up.
"Then I'll talk your mother." He said and put his hand on Dan's shoulder, squeezing it lightly. "She seemed like a sweet girl when I met her at brunch."
"She's amazing dad." He smiled. "She really is."
"Good." Rufus turned to follow his wife but stopped after a few steps. "You're sure right?"
"I am." He answered confidently. Dan watched his dad disappear and stood in a daze for a while. It wasn't until Jenny appeared behind him that he moved.
"I'm sorry." She said so quietly that Dan barely heard her.
"For what?"
"For trying to ruin things with that girl. I thought she was just one like the others. But you like her." She was biting her lip and looking down at her hands, something Jenny only did when she knew she was in the wrong.
"I love her." He corrected her and her eyes quickly met his.
"I know." She smiled and in that moment Dan was reminded of the Jenny he used to know. Before party's, popularity and trying to be a grown up got to her and she became the shallow shell of former self.
"Then why would you try to ruin it?" He walked a couple steps closer to her.
"Because I didn't know that you loved her until today. I overheard your conversation with mom and dad. So again, I'm sorry Dan."
He pulled her in to a tight hug, he felt like he needed it and so did she. He couldn't remember the last time they were this honest with each other. She clutched at the back of his shirt and he knew that she needed this as much as he did. It was hard growing up in the Upper East Side sometimes, but in times like these they knew that they had each other.
"It's okay." He whispered and kissed the side of her head.
"Are you going to say anything?" Carter was sitting across from her in the livingroom, neither of them had spoken since he showed up at her apartment.
"Are you going to be an ass?" She shot back from her spot on the couch.
Carter looked down at the floor, he felt ashamed of the way he had acted.
"I'm sorry Blair. You have to know that." He looked up and met her eyes. "I went way to far and overreacted. I have been feeling horrible for what happened that day." He straightened a little in his seat, his eyes never leaving her. "If you want to be with that trust fund kid, then I'm not stopping you, I want you to be happy and obviously you won't be with me."
Blair felt her hard exterior soften at his words and she smiled a little.
"Thank you."
"That said though," Carter continued and her eyes narrowed "I think you're making a mistake. He'll never understand what it's like for people like us."
"He understands me better than you ever did." Her arms crossed as she glared at him. "And I'm not interested in what you think about my life. I asked you to come over because you said that you wanted to talk and I need to know that there wont be at trouble at work. That you aren't going to be an ass or ever do what you did again."
"I apologized, I've apologized a few times now. This will not affect our work relationship. What more do you want?"
Blair studied him in silence, wondering what ever attracted her to the man in front of her. He smelled like cigarettes and behaved like an idiot most of the time.
"Nothing. I don't want anything from you." She finally said. Carter stood up just as Serena and Nate came in to the livingroom, both of them glaring at him.
"If you ever try anything like this again, attacking me or Blair, I'll have you arrested." Nate said as Carter approached him.
"Right, sometimes I forget that you're from the Upper East Side." Carter answered dryly. "Don't worry, this thing with us is over." He waved at Blair and it wasn't long before they heard the front door slam shut.
"Did he do something?" Serena sat down next to Blair.
"No, he actually seemed sorry. He's not going to cause any more trouble." She leaned her head on Serena's shoulder.
"Good." Nate slowly made his way over to them. "Do you mind? It's easier to breathe if I lie down." The two girls quickly moved so Nate could stretch out on the couch.
"How much pain are you in right now?" Blair sat down in the chair that Carter had sat in only minutes earlier.
"Well, I just took some pain killers, but it's slowly getting better."
Serena had made her way to the kitchen and was looking through the refrigerator for anything eatable.
"Hey Blair, what do you want for dinner?"
"I was thinking of ordering in, aren't you working tonight?" She turned to look at the blonde.
"No, I got Sam to cover for me tonight and I'll take her shift on Wednesday." She held up a pan. "How about salmon?"
"I thought you were going to stop taking shifts in the middle of the week?" Blair smiled and Nate chuckled.
"I wanted tonight off and she was the only one willing to trade." Serena held up some take out menus. "So salmon or order in?"
"Order in." Blair and Nate said at the same time. Blair laughed when Serena frowned at them.
Dan and Vanessa were sitting in her room doing homework when Dan's phone went off. He smiled when he saw Blair's name on the screen.
"Hey Waldorf."
"Hey, what are you doing?" She sounded happy so he assumed things had gone well with Carter. It was the first time they had spoken that day.
"Nothing, working on a project with Vanessa." Vanessa looked up and rolled her eyes when she saw the stupid look on Dan's face.
"Oh, tell her hi." Blair said "You want to meet up tomorrow?"
"I have to go to brunch with my parents and Jenny. Some family bonding time or whatever. But you could come by after?" When all he heard was silence on the other end he sighed. "My dad and Jenny wants to meet you."
"Oh really?" She sounded both doubtful and annoyed.
"I talked to them. It's going to be okay." He tried to reassure her. When it was silence on the other end again he frowned. Vanessa who had been watching him rolled her eyes again and grabbed the phone before he had time to react.
"Hey Blair it's Vanessa. Come by tomorrow, Alison wont be there and Rufus is cool. I'll scare Jenny in to being nice if I have too."
"You really think I'm going to listen to you?"
"Well, if you don't come I'm going to have to hear Danny whine about it and I really need to study. So from one girl to another, come." Vanessa battled away Dan's hands as he tried to reach the phone.
"Fine." She heard Blair say before Dan managed to take the phone.
"Don't listen to her. I don't whine." He glared at Vanessa who smiled back.
"I'm sure you don't Danny." He could practically see the smirk on her face and he groaned. He hated being called that.
"Don't call me Danny." When Vanessa laughed he pinched her arm.
"Whatever Danny." She teased "But I'll come tomorrow."
"I might not let you if you keep calling me that."
"Yes you will. See you tomorrow."
"Okay, bye." Once he hung up he glared at a still smiling Vanessa. "Did you really have to do that?"
"Don't be so sensitive, Danny is cute." She hid her giggle behind her text book.
"Danny sounds like a five year old."
"Stop pouting, she's coming tomorrow isn't she?" Dan nodded defeated. "You can thank me later."
Blair was standing in the elevator, she was biting her lower lip and couldn't stop shifting her wight from one foot to the other anxiously. She was even more nervous this time than she had been last time considering how awful that day had been. When the doors opened she took a deep breath before exciting. It was empty in the foyer and for a split second she wondered if she had gotten the time wrong. Then she saw familiar blonde hair and Jenny was coming down the stairs.
"Uhm hi." Blair took a few uncertain steps forward, feeling out of her element.
"Hi." Jenny replied "So, I think we got off on the wrong foot." She went straight to business and extended her hand for Blair to shake. "I'm Jenny, Dan's sister. It's nice to meet you." She took Blair's hand and shook it. For a brief moment Blair wondered if Dan had performed some kind or exorcism on the girl before she realized that she should probably answer.
"I'm Blair." She didn't smile until the blonde did.
"Look I know I'm a bitch. But I've talked to Dan, and Vanessa, and I'm ready to give you a chance. So is my dad."
"Okay." She said slowly, eyeing Jenny hesitantly. "Where are they by the way?" Blair still didn't trust Jenny but she figured that Jenny faking being nice was better than having to fight with her every time they saw each other.
"They'll be here any minute, something about brunch taking longer." Jenny turned to sit down on the sofa.
"And you're not with them because?" Blair sat across from her.
"I was too hungover to move. Blamed it on bad sushi."
"You sound like my friend Serena." Blair smiled remembering when Serena had used the exact same excuse when they were younger.
"Sounds like a cool girl." Jenny smiled back. It became a bit awkward, neither girl knowing what to say. Luckily Dan and Rufus showed up and Blair thanked the heavens. She stood up and shook Rufus's hand.
"Nice to see you again Blair." He smiled genuinely and she felt a little more comfortable.
"You too Mr. Humphrey." She hook his hand the way her mother had taught her, with gentle force.
"Hey babe." Dan kissed her cheek and they all sat down.
"Blair, we've heard a lot about you from Dan but maybe you could tell us a little more about yourself?" Rufus sat next to Jenny and Blair kind of felt like this was an interview and if she failed to answer correctly she would be thrown out.
"Well, I'm a senior." She started gingerly but when Dan took her hand she relaxed a little. "I was planning on getting in to Yale but unfortunately I didn't so now I'm working and am applying to Columbia and NYU next year. I want to be a magazine editor one day." She shifted in her seat.
"Blair, relax." Rufus said gently. "I know that Alison and Jenny haven't been very," He stopped, searching for the right word "inviting." He finally said. "But Jenny has changed her mind and Alison isn't here. We aren't here to judge you."
"Why did you start dancing?" Jenny suddenly asked.
"Jenny." Dan warned.
"I'm just curious Dan." She frowned at her brother.
Blair squeezed his hand reassuringly, wordlessly telling him that it was okay.
"I moved out from my mom's apartment and I needed to pay rent. I started working as a waitress but I was starting to lag behind on schoolwork because I was working four to five nights a week. That's when my roommate Serena told me about the club and I tried it." She took a couple of breaths "The money is good but I'm not planning on doing it forever. But I like performing."
"She's an amazing dancer." Dan smiled as Rufus nodded. Jenny looked happy with her answer and leaned back on the couch.
"It sounds like you have a lot on your plate."
The four people turned to the voice and saw Allison standing there. Blair felt her stomach turn to ice, she felt like throwing up.
"Blair, I'm Alison." She stood in front of Blair "I was incredibly rude to you the last time we saw each other. I want to apologize."
Blair looked up at Alison, from her sitting position she looked huge but there was a small, almost warm smile on Alison's face.
"Alison, what are you doing?" Rufus sounded as confused as Blair felt.
"I remembered what happened between us when we were young. My parent's didn't approve of you and now we barely speak. I don't want that with my children." Her back was turned to Rufus so she didn't see the smile on his face or the relieved look on Dan's, her eyes were fastened on Blair who still looked doubtful. Not that she blamed her. It was silent and awkward in the room until Blair stood up and looked Alison straight in the eye.
"I'm going to prove to you that I'm good enough for your son." She said confidently and the older woman looked slightly impressed.
"I hope you do." The smile almost reached her eyes and Blair felt even more relieved.
She spent a couple of hours at the Humphrey penthouse and it wasn't great, but it wasn't awful either. Alison could learn to accept Blair with a little bit of time and patience and Blair could try not to judge the Upper East Siders. When she needed to head home Dan followed her down.
"So that went... Okay." He was holding her in the elevator, breathing in her scent.
"I can't believe that in the matter of 24 hours we've managed to win over Carter, Jenny and your mom."
"It's destiny." He smiled when he heard her chuckle against his chest.
"Way too corny Humphrey."
The doors opened and they stepped out. Dan had his arms around her shoulders. He couldn't seem to top touching her.
"You should take the car." He gestured to the black limo standing by the curb.
"I'll take the subway, thanks." She frowned at the car. She thought the private car Dan would normally have was bad, the limo was way over the top.
"I can come with you and we can make out in the backseat?" He winked and she laughed again.
"We can do that on the subway too." She didn't stop him when he took her hand and led her to the car anyways.
"Yeah, but I don't think that the people there will be to happy with the PDA." Dan opened the door. "Now get in."
Blair wanted to argue with him, but she hadn't kissed him in what felt like forever and the privacy and comfort of his car was something she definitely preferred so with a small sigh she got in. Dan gave the driver her address and then told him to put the seat divider up, giving them the privacy they needed before kissing her roughly.
Blair slid her tongue over his bottom lip and felt him opening his mouth and their tongues danced together. She felt him tipping her back so he could lie down on top of her and she moaned when he rubbed against her core. Her hands raked through his hair and the bottom of his shirt where his jeans started.
"I'm so not letting you fuck me in this car." She said against his lips, her breath coming out small pants. "It's way too teenage movie."
"It's a limo." He teased and bit her bottom lip. "It's so much classier."
"Shut up." She kissed him again before pushing him off her. If she didn't she was sure they would end up having straightened and sat up and pulled her against him so she could lean on his chest. They were quiet for a while, just enjoying each other in comfortable silence.
"What did Carter say yesterday?" He turned to look at her.
"Not much. He apologized and we agreed to keep things professional at work." She turned her head so she was breathing against his neck. "How come your mother suddenly changed her mind?"
"I might have told her that she had to choose between her reputation and me."
"Are you serious?" She pushed herself in to a sitting position and stared at him. "Dan you didn't have to do that."
"Yes I did." He stroked her chin softly.
"Why?" She wad afraid of his answer, even though she already knew it.
"You know why." He smiled as if he could read her mind.
"I love you." It came out hurried from her lips and Dan sat stunted for a few seconds.
"Damn it Waldorf I wanted to say it first." He teased before kissing her. "I love you too." He kissed her again and again and again until Blair's giggled kept her from kissing him back.
"This is way too cheesy. Say something inappropriate."
"Oh come on Waldorf, this was such a romantic moment." He leaned back in the seat, sliding down a little.
"You call it romatic, I call it cheesy." She smiled against his shirt. "I still love you though."
"I love you too."
Thank you again to all of you! Hope this didn't disappoint too much!
