Small grunts slipped from an open door, elbows in a black suit up as she the hands tried and struggled with the small black bow tie around his neck.

"Having trouble?"

Hazel eyes turned to look at the man leaning against his door frame, his arms over his chest and a grin on his face before he moved his form towards his son, his on body clad in a fitted held still as Lavi adjusted his tie, his curly hair brushed away from the back of his neck and face, the singular green eyes smiling at his son.

"There you go," the man murmured, "you look incredibly sharp in your father's old suit," his hands brushed off the small piece of lint, "you sure you don't want a new one? It's not like we can't afford it."

"I like this suit," the young man told his parent, his lips pulling into a soft smile, "and I'm nostalgic."

"That's good," a third voice wheezed softly, the green and hazel eyes turned to look at the other walking himself into the room, "so are we."

"Considering dad writes Mystery novels, I'm inclined to agree with you," Ben smiled as he glanced to Lavi, the other smiling back before he turned his attention to the coughing elder.

"You gonna be okay?" Lavi asked softly, his body moving over to Tyki's as the other puffed on his oxygen mask.

"I'll be fine," Tyki patted the pale hand, Lavi biting his lip as he looked over the elder standing by the door, the long finger hooking under the chin to meet his lover's eyes. "Really, Lavi," he smiled, "I might have had better days, but I'm okay, and there is no way I'm missing our son's first university performance."

Benigno smiled as his father's gold eyes met his, his hazel eyes smiled back before he joined his two fathers, his lips kissing the dark skin on the cheek.

"Thanks papa," the teen smiled, "love you."

"Love you too," Tyki hugged him, his hand rubbing his son's back, "now, let's get going; you don't want to be late."

"Wish you did something about your hair," Lavi muttered almost bitterly at the red bow in his son's wavy hair, the few offending strands slipping to frame his face.

"You always say that," Ben laughed as he moved his tall form towards the front hall, "papa doesn't mind it, do you papa?"

"Mine was longer," the elder defended while Lavi sighed, "and he keeps it neat and clean, so you really can't complain."

"Oh yes I can," the other mumbled under his breath while Tyki chuckled, their son turning from his shoe laces to look up at his fathers through his bangs.

"Are you two sure… you'll be okay… with them there?"

Both Tyki and Lavi froze slightly at the mention, their eyes glancing to one another as they both seemed to swallow thickly.

One of Lavi's firmest decisions was not to involve their son with Kanda and Allen, a decision Tyki agreed wholeheartedly as their attempt to alert the police to their whereabouts was not taken as seriously as it should have. Since the day Yoshinori reached out to Benigo, the two had been adamant that the children never meet again, an order Ben cried over as he wondered what he had done wrong to deserve separation from his newest friend.

It wasn't until he turned twelve did he accidentally stumble across his fathers drawer of unsolved case files in search of his rosin. The look on Tyki's face when he caught his boy reading the file with wide eyes was forever burned into Ben's memory, as was the confession his fathers admitted that evening.

Like any other child, the story that a kid he had only spoken to a handful of times was the adopted son of two serial killers that had nearly murdered his fathers was too ludicrous to even concoct. Angry that his parents felt the need to lie to him, the adolescent had taken to his violin lessons in a huff, the music school among the most prestigious in Japan, meaning Yoshinori also attended the same academy for his piano.

Out of nagging curiosity, the other decided to ask the silver-eyed preteen about his own fathers, his heart nearly stopping at the blasé response that Lavi and Tyki were not lying, that the two men had indeed attacked and killed several people, and that Ben's own parents were survivors.

"Of course we'll be fine," Lavi told his son softly, "now, grab your violin and let's go."

Though Ben and Yoshinori had the same music school, until they both got accepted into the same university, they hadn't attended the same schools, meaning that the contact between the four adults had been as minimal as Tyki and Lavi could make it. Now, however, Ben's parents feared that the needed to face the others, a recent development making their blood boil even higher.

The ride to the university was swift and thankfully uneventful, the three of them maneuvering through the parking lot towards the theater, Lavi visibly impressed as they stepped into the grand entranceway.

"This is wonderful," he commented softly as Ben appeared to nervously adjust his tie, Tyki chucking at his lover's amazement as he patted his son's back.

"You've seen it before," his son commented, "remember? At the orientation?"

"Yes but it wasn't all lit up like this," Lavi informed him, "this is gorgeous."

"It is, isn't it?"

Three head turned to the soft voice, their bodies tensing at the sight of the two men standing behind them, each of them adorned with fitted suits and matching smiles.

"Good evening, Lavi, Tyki," Allen nodded to the others, his arms around his own lover's, "how have you two been?"

"Well, thank you," Lavi responded curtly, is head held high as his eye flickered to the other two before they landed on their approaching son, the silver eyes bright and his face smiling as he stepped up to his fathers.

"Hey dads," Yoshinori smiled, his arms wrapping around Allen before Kanda, his eyes turning to look at the other family standing in front of him, "and hello, Lavi, Tyki and Ben."

"Hey," the young man murmured, his own eyes narrowing as he stood his ground, his body moving to stand closer to his fathers.

"You ready for tonight?"

"Yep," Ben replied curtly, "you?"

"Never been more prepared," Yoshinori smiled, "I always get a trill in front of an audience."

"Like fathers like son," Lavi muttered under his breath, not so quiet that the others couldn't hear him.

"Well… still better than someone who breaks under pressure," the other pointed out, his silver eyes glinting as his lips managed to pull into a small smirk, "or just plain brakes, either way…"

Ben felt a hand on his shoulder stopping him from punching the other, his eyes turning to look back at his father's, Lavi shaking his head no.

"They're not worth it," the other murmured, his eye shifting to them, "none of them are."

"And yet you hunted us like wolves," Allen pointed out, "so which is it? Not worth it, or enough to sacrifice your life for?"

"Not worth it," Tyki cut in, "you should be behind bars."

"Careful now," Kanda murmured, "don't want to use all your oxygen in one breath."

"C'mon then," the Portuguese man nodded, "do something stupid, get caught and go where you belong."

"I belong right here," the Japanese told them, the younger man pressing closer to him, his head of white hair resting on the strong shoulder, his son turning to smile softly at his fathers.

"Not while your file rests with the police," Lavi pointed out as he put a comforting hand on his lover's shoulder.

"Here's the thing daddy taught me about poker," Yoshinori tilted his head, "only bluff if your opponent doesn't know your hand."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Tyki shot at the boy, is eyes narrowing in suspicion.

"It means you know for a fact that my parents don't have files," the younger smirked, "but you want to try and scare them."

"How the hell would you know!" Lavi snapped, Yoshinori standing calmly by his parents, Kanda and Allen watching their son handle the situation.

"Because I'm the one that erased them."

The atmosphere hung thick around the six of them, Lavi feeling his lungs freeze as his eyes widened dramatically.

"Y-Y-You were the one wh-who hacked in and-"

"Wouldn't really call it hacking," Yoshinori shrugged, "it's only hacking if it presents a challenge."

"It's still illegal-"

"Only if you get caught," the younger interrupted, "and before you think how clever you are, no, my parents didn't teach me that, I'm smart enough to figure it out on my own."

"You're despicable," Lavi shot at Kanda, "you got your own son-"

"Father didn't ask or tell me to do it," Yoshinori cut in, "I just… had a peek around and decided… why not."

"B-Because-"

"As far as you know, we've behaved around our son," Allen murmured, "he got curious like you did and… well, we couldn't simply lie to him."

"I figured as much," Lavi cut in, "but Yoshinori, to accept what they've done and to even be happy about it-"

"They're my dads," the younger explained, his hand running over his side swept bangs and braided hair, "they've cared for me since I was a baby; I love them unconditionally. Besides, it's your word against theirs, why should I believe it?"

"Because my parents were the police," Ben snapped.

"So were mine," Yoshinori smiled as he moved past with his parents, "so tell me, how does it feel to have liars for fathers?"

Ben felt the muscle in his jaw twitch dangerously at the comment, the hand squeezing his shoulder hardly calming him.

"At least my mother isn't a whore."

Yoshinori paused at the whispered words, his eyes turning to look at the glaring hazel ones, Kanda and Allen watching the younger turn on his heel to the other.

"I don't have a mother," the young man informed them, his lips pulling into a smirk, "I had a whore who carried me until my fathers found me, but that woman is not my mother."

"You honestly think that?" Lavi cut in, "have they deluded your brain that much!?"

"They told me the truth," Yoshinori hissed, "they told me they cut me out of a dead prostitute's stomach and raised me," his foot stepped towards the other family, "but I believe that they saved me from a life of hell and I believe that I was never meant to be that whore's. That the only purpose she had in her life was to carry me for my fathers."

"You're as screwed up as they are," Tyki wheezed, his own eyes glaring at both Allen and Kanda.

"So what?"

All three of the others turned to the young man in surprise, his face calm as he shrugged.

"Being normal is boring," Yoshinori commented, "what's wrong with a little twist in your life?"

"Nothing so long as it doesn't involve murder-"

"You can't prove a damn thing," the younger pointed out to Lavi, "our word against yours… best of luck though. Oh! And break a leg tonight!"

"I'd rather break yours," Ben muttered under his breath as he watched the retreating backs, the elder coming to stand beside him causing him to look up at Tyki.

"C'mon," the elder murmured, "you need to get backstage."

"They can't just win like that-"

"They've only won if we let them," Lavi promised softly, "and we're not about to do that."

Benignostared out at the wildly applauding crowd, his smile proud as his bow was drawn across his chest in a bow. His composition piece, an homage to his fathers' struggles, hadn't a mistake anywhere to be found. His piece easy for runner up, a bitterness in his heart as he secretly knew that the audience had clapped twice as loudly at the tearful composition Yoshinori managed to pull off only two performers before him.

Stepping lightly offstage, Ben sighed deeply before pulling on a smile at the congratulations he was given by the other performers while the oboe player slipped past him, her heels clicking over the wood in nervousness.

"Well done," a voice came from the shadows, "that was quite moving."

Hazel eyes glared at the other simply lounging against the wall, his kind and sweet smile reserved for the audience gone in his smirk.

"Drop the act," Ben snapped, "you're as sickening as your parents."

"That's not very nice," Yoshinori crooned as he watched the other performers disappear to their respective area, "I just congratulated you."

"Sorry, my mistake," the younger of the two murmured, "here I was thinking the son of two people who murdered for kicks was a little less sensitive."

"Not as sensitive as you are evidently," the silver-eyes glinted as he smirked, "it must eat your family alive," the other hissed, "to know that my parents won and yours are forced to live with their defeat!"

"My parents didn't lose," Benigno informed him, his own eyes narrowing dangerously, "they're living, they're alive."

"Pumping oxygen and fearful of everything" Yoshinori told him, "how is that living? It's surviving at best."

"Your family's the one that lost," the younger snapped, "they're the ones that didn't kill my parents!"

"A loss doesn't mean death," the silver-eyed young man informed him, "a loss can actually be death."

"Regardless-"

"I get it, we're sick twisted little freaks," Yoshinori sighed, "can you drop it?"

"Love to, let them turn themselves in and restore my parents' honour."

"Yeah… no," the other grinned, "tell you what I will do. I will put every barrier and stop every attempt to destroy my fathers' lives for as long as I live. How does that sound?"

"Like it's going to be trouble for you," Ben stood tall, "as I intend on proving them guilty, no matter the cost!"

"Fine by me," Yoshinori smiled devilishly, "I can settle a score. But I wish you all the best. Just like your parents, there's no way in Hell you can beat me."

"We'll see about that," Benigno murmured as he vaguely heard both his and Yoshinori's name called out to accept their awards.

As both sets of fathers watched their sons accept their awards, it was unmistakable to the four of them that a challenge much like the one that had been given to Lavi and Tyki had been issued, a challenged Kanda and Allen knew their son would win.

So... that's all guys ^^ I hope you all like it, or at least found it entertaining
