Here's the epilogue, as promised. It's written entirely in Tasha's perspective.

It's been three days since Ryuk's funeral. We ended up burning his remains along with both of his Death Notes (L couldn't stand to hold onto that thing any longer, and blatantly refused to give me ownership). We scattered the ashes under an apple tree in the local park, and L gave me a moment to myself.

"Goodbye, Ryuk," I'd whispered. "I hope your afterlife is full of apples."

We've returned to LA for a while, but L is nervous about us staying here for too long.

"We can't take anymore chances. We can't stay here. It'd probably be best for us to never return to America. Ever," he explained last night when we were in bed.

"Where will we go?" I asked incredulously.

He kissed me deeply, tongue dancing on my lower lip.

"Watari can buy us a place anywhere. You decide," he murmured before kissing me again.

"Not now I won't," I growled before climbing on top of him.

THE END (For real this time!)

Sorry - I know it's short. But I've left it a bit open for a potential sequel if it's wanted. If I get enough people wanting one, I'll post another 'chapter' with a link to the first chapter of the new story.

Thank you everyone who has been patient with me through all of this - I wouldn't have been able to write it without your enthusiasm and encouragement. I hope the ending lived up to your standards.

R.I.P. Ryuk, and thank you all again.
