*sneaks in the room* Ok so I've been a huge author douche, I take on the full title. I'm not going to make up excuses, I'll make up chapters instead! At least I can guarantee you better quality from this chapter than the others, those were before I actually got some skill.
Buttercup's POV
"Stupid, stupid math," I grumble as I distribute the variable.
The king thinks I need more help with math, so he assigned me a extra tutor that gives me double my usual amount of work that my other tutor gives me. I'm perfectly good at math, I'm better than Bubbles, in fact, but I think I get all this extra work because I'm getting more attention from the princes than the others are.
I hear a light rapping on my door and Boomer sticks his head in my room, his hands covering his eyes, "are you decent?"
"Yup," I tell him. "Just wishing I wasn't working on all this homework."
"You know you could take a break and take a walk with me," he offers with a grin.
"I can't," I shake my head. "I have three days worth of homework just from today from my tutor, I can't. I want to, but I cant."
"Can't you just break the rules once," he asks while giving me the puppy dog eyes.
"Don't give me that look," I say while putting my head on my desk. "That's not fair, Boomer, it's really not."
"Look at me and explain what's not fair," he says with an obvious pout in is voice.
"No," I refuse. "I need to study. If I look up, I'll be sure to submit."
"Then why don't you look up? You know you want to," he coaxes.
"Boomer, I will use my hammer to knock you to the courtyard if you don't stop that adorable act right now," I groan.
"What act," he says, purposely acting dumb.
"It's not fair you have the eyes of a puppy! Stop the act, and let me get back to work!"
"I know," he chuckles. "They'll be the death of you if I win."
"I don't doubt it," I say while finally opening my eyes to his puppy pout and eyes to match. "Damn it, Boomer, get out before I have someone put you on a chain somewhere!"
"I wouldn't mind if it's you I'm chained to," he smirks then bolts out the room.
I run my hands through my raven locks; that boy is cute and he knows it. I look back over to my desk and sigh. I hate math; so many rules, so little time. But I have to get this assignment done! I plop down on my chair once again and start working on the questions like there's no tomorrow.

An hour later, there's a knock on my door. "Boomer, I'm only half way done with my work, I don't have time for your adorable puppy dog look!"
"I thought I was the hot one, not the cute one," I hear Brick say from behind me, a smirk dripping through his voice.
"You'll be the annoying one if you keep talking like that," I say while throwing a glare over my shoulder.
"How 'bout I'll be the helpful one?" He leans his chest against my back and rests his chin in the crook of my neck. "Number fifty-seven is 169 a to the ninth b to the twenty second over 5, by the way."
"How'd you get that so quickly?" I ask.
"I spend most of my time studying or reading a book. That is, when I'm not thinking about you," he huskily whispers.
"S-Shut up, Brick," I stutter while pushing him away.
"If my mouth is closed, I can't give you can tips," he says with a smirk.
"You could write down the information," I point out.
"Witty, I like that," he winks.
I roll my eyes at the red-head and he finally starts becoming of some use. He points out which methods are easiest to use on certain problems and teaches me a few silly sayings that help me memorize the formulas.
"Now that I've given you some pointers, let me point the way to today's adventure," Brick says while pulling me out of my seat.
"I can't," I tell him while sitting back down. "I'm only halfway done with my work and my mother and cultural teacher still want me to finish writing a song."
"Please," he says while giving me a fox-like grin. "Come with me and you'll get some ideas."
I shake my head and turn back towards me work, "I'll see if I can some other day, but for now, I'll try not to drown in my work."
"What if I do it for you?"
"I won't feel accomplished if you did," I tell him with an ambitious grin. "I'm going to get done and I'm going to do it all by myself, I guarantee you that."
He nods his head and tells me to shout if I need him. I turn back to my work with a flame of determination, I'm going to finish this damn homework and I'm going to get a good grade on it!

Another knock hits my door a hour after Brick left, "come in! If you're here to distract me, go away!"
"I know I'm cute, but am I really all that much of a distraction," Butch purrs from behind me.
"S-Shut up, Butch," I stutter.
"I'll shut up if you come with me," he says while tilting my chin towards him. "Let's have a race, Buttercup. Winner gets whatever they want."
"No," I say while turning my head back to my work. "I'm almost done with my math and then I have to finish writing a song!"
"Come on, you know you want to go for a quick sprint to feel alive after being here all day," he coaxes. He's right, but I'm not going to let him know that.
"No," I tell him firmly. "Work first, sprinting later."
"You leave me with no choice," He says with a dramatic sigh.
Quicker than the speed of sound, he snatches up my work in my book, slams the book shut, and takes off down the hall. It takes me a second to realize what just happens and to chase after the emerald eyed knave.
"BUTCH GET BACK HERE WITH MY HOMEWORK!"I screech like a banshee, "IF IT'S RUINED, I'M REDOING IT ALL IN YOUR BLOOD!"
He chuckles at me and accelerates his speed. My stupid dress nearly trips me and I promptly rip it off at the knee. Finally, my legs are free enough to chase after that idiot. I'm suddenly glad I forgot to file my nails earlier today; they'll assist me in mauling Butch to death.
I weave in and out of people as I try to keep Butch in my site. I swear if even a single paper is frayed, I will make sure he regrets every nanosecond of this!
Finally, we reach the courtyard where there aren't any people. I speed up as much as I can until I'm on his heals. He leans us into the large garden with a chuckle. He's really enjoying this, isn't he? As soon as we reach the center of the garden, where there's no place to hide, I tackle him to the floor.
"Give me back my papers," I order as I sit down on his stomach, assuring that he doesn't escape.
"Wow, B', didn't know you liked me this much," he taunts. "But please, everyone's watching; let's save this for when you choose me, k?"
I glare at him and look up to see that people actually are watching us. There's literally a hundred people in this large garden. Among those people are my grinning mother, glaring sisters, and giggling best friend, Robin. Butch's brothers, give him pouts and sigh. At least they're not the extremely jealous type.
"Not that I mind, but you probably should get off of me now, sweetheart," Butch teases.
I quickly get up with a blush in place. I glare at the snickering people, properly shutting them up. If it's one thing I hate more than being humiliated is being laughed at.
"The winner of this challenge is Prince Butch!" Mother announces happily. "We wanted to see who could manage to get my mule-like daughter out here when she's determined to study. Congratulations, Butch!"
Butch grins at my mother and sends me a mischievous look. He quickly grabs me and kisses me on the lips for a solid ten seconds. "I win, remember?"
My eyes widen and I try stuttering out a response to no avail. H-he stole my first kiss, in front of a crowd at that! I can't believe he- did he seriously- why would he- UGH! Now I can't even think straight! The only thing that's not unsure are my cheeks that just decided to compete with Blossom and Brick's hair to see which would out red the other. Unfortunately for me, my face won.
Before anyone can say anything, mom says we're all dismissed and Robin whisks me away before anyone can properly react. We're back in my room in the blink of an eye and my mind is still trying to properly function. The only thing it can do is reply what just happened and make my lips feel like his are still there.
"How was it," Robin asks me while sitting on my bed next to me.
"It," I blush, "it was kinda…nice."
"Let the love commence," Robin shouts so loudly that entire castle undoubtedly heard. I throw a pillow at my friend's face, making her choke a bit on the pillow's stringy, fluffy covering. That'll teach her to keep that big mouth of hers shut.
Sorry for any and all typos! I've already started on the next chapter, by the way!
K-Chan!
