Chapter 19 (Epilogue)

Third point of view

It had been two years since the day Chris left Halliwell's household and for the first time in two years he was coming back to the place. The house hadn't had good memories for him yet, but he really hoped that it would change. For the last year and a half he learnt about his family a lot, just as they did about him. Chris stood in his apartment looking at the mirror, his elder brother Wyatt was there just once and that was coincidence.

As much as Chris wanted to become the real family with his biological family, he still wasn't sure he could trust them enough. That's why when they met they did it either at some restaurant or at the Weinburg mansion. Piper hinted not once about that it was time to step up but Chris wasn't ready at the time. and now she took the matter in the own hands and invited him to the manor for a lunch with the whole Halliwell family, and that was for the first time also.

Chris wasn't in any hurry to meet his aunts, uncles and cousins again, and tried to distance himself from them and any mention of them.

And now he was freaking out. The light filled the room and his real family appeared, all ready for the day. His elder sister, Serena was wearing knee-length dress with one shoulder, her blonde hair was braided and there was just a pair of locks that framed her face. Next to her, on the left, Kate stood. She aside from her twin sister wore a white top and dark blue jeans, her hair in a pony tail. Audrey was on the right of Serena, in her favourite v-neck t-shirt and shorts. As for Nat, she wore a dress slightly higher her knees and showing her good figure. Her Mum and Dad were their usual self in suits, like they were going not at the family meeting but at the business negotiations. They still kept their guard up, and you couldn't agree more with them, they wanted to protect those they love.

"Are you ready?" Nat asked checking herself in the mirror.

"As ready as can be" Chris answered, without looking in anybody's eyes. Helena seeing it, took her son's hand and gave it a squeeze.

"If you don't want to go, then don't push yourself. For the last year and half I've learnt a lot about them. They will understand."

"Mum, I'm fine, just nervous."

"Don't be. We will be there with you." Simon told, putting a hand on Chris' shoulder.

At the same time at the manor in San-Francisco Piper was worried that Chris would decide that he wasn't ready and wouldn't come. She wanted her son's coming home was perfect as can be. She understood fully that the manor wasn't Chris home for a very long time but hoped that maybe one day it would come close to it.

Over the last eighteen months she found out how important Chris was to the Weinburgs, not only as Neutrals but also as a family member. She watched him laugh with them, be sad and happy. It hurt her to see her baby coming with his problems to the other person, but she understood that she lost her chance, so she had no right to complain, especially after she got another one.

She knew that Phoebe and Paige couldn't wait to the day they saw their nephew again and didn't want to follow rules that Chris established. But when they tried to overcome them, Chris stopped communicating to his biological parents again. And they understood that they hadn't had another choice as to follow Chris' wishes.

Wyatt and Paul became very close to Chris, but still not as close as Audrey or Natalie, but they now hung out together at some point. Chris even attended several games of Paul, which made the younger boy happy. Wyatt went to Chris restaurant a few times and was shocked to find his brother so good at managing the place and cooking. And when he saw his younger brother apartment he was surprised to see a lot of culinary books, management books, engineering books. And when he asked about the last the answer was simple

"I want to study engineering when the restaurant can be stable, and I would have time for studying."

Now his mother was ordering him around to make Chris welcome back party perfect. He looked around the room the table was full of different dishes, most of them were Chris' favourites. There were balloons everywhere and other decorations. Also Piper and Leo made sure that there were a lot of Chris photos, they got from Helena and Simon, as their own from the last months. About twenty minutes before Weiburgs' arrival Phoebe with her family appeared.

"So, Wy, are you nervous?" Prue wondered coming to Wyatt.

"Yes, it's the first time in two years he will be here. And you?"

"Yeah, I feel guilty about my behavior. We are almost the same age, and he helped me a lot but I still was ignorant to him. I don't know what to do."

"Be yourself, Prue. He'll forgive you. He forgave mum and dad, Paul and I. It took time but he did, so don't worry he will do it, just don't push him. Let him meet you, know you and that will be okey."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am."

At that very moment the front door opened and Paige's children ran into the house with their parents behind them. Paige and Phoebe wore worried faces. They didn't know how to be with their middle nephew, but at the same time wanted for him to come back. And they finally got the chance to apology for their blindness. Just as they greeted each other, somebody rang the door. Everyone in the room tensed. That was it.

Leo hurried to open the door. The first person he saw was Simon and Helena. He shook the other man's hand and kissed slightly the woman on the cheek. Then he looked over their shoulders to see his second born coming up the stairs with his adopted siblings. Leo smiled at the young man and got the shy smile back. When they all were in the house Piper started introduce them to her sisters and their families. The two Charmed ones looked at the Neutrals suspiciously, but one look from Chris made them to drop the attitude. The look was "if you don't stop I leave."

When they finally were acquainted, the lady of the house invited all of them to the table, when they took their seats, Simon raised a wineglass and announced:

"For the new beginnings and for the reunited family." Smiling at his youngest son, he took a sip of wine.
