A/N: So here's the first oneshot ^^ Honestly, I am very intrigued by Misael and Kaito's relationship as rivals (It irks me that they never got to finish their match). Anyway, enjoy :)

Misael was seated on top of a tree, his cerulean eyes unfocused, staring into the distance. He was at the place where it all began, where he had met his most formidable rival.
Tenjo Kaito. The other Galaxy Eyes user. He was the final hurdle, the last challenge.
'By beating him, I will become the true Galaxy Eyes Master.'
He could still remember their first meeting like it was yesterday. After his Tachyon Dragon had rendered Yuma unable to fight on, the grey-eyed duelist had taken his place, pushing him into a corner with his Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon.
After repeated encounters and several interrupted matches, he longed for the day when he would finally be able to face him, in a place where they could continue their match in peace.
'How amusing,' he mused 'that I would go to such lengths just to fight a silly human.'
Then again, he supposed, Kaito was no ordinary human. After all, he had been chosen by Galaxy Eyes. Misael could not deny that he admired the other's fighting spirit. While Tsumako Yuma and his group were much too optimistic, Kaito remained a realist. He fought for his younger brother, Haruto, just like how Misael fought for the Barian World.
He blinked. Maybe they were not as different as he thought.
'Maybe...'
If they had met under better circumstances... If they were not fighting to destroy each other so that they could claim the title of True Galaxy Eyes Master...
'... we could have been friends.'
