She stared down at the man at her feet. He seemed quite calm and collected, despite knowing that he was about to die. She ground her teeth together and silently seethed. She wanted him to grovel at her feet and beg forgiveness for his crimes, to cry out in fear and take responsibility for his actions. They had spent too long in solitude and exile to only let him have a merciful death.

The Everdeen girl, quite possibly the most troublesome person she had ever met, was given the reward of killing the man who had caused them all so much pain. The girl walked out onto the balcony with her bow, her eyes only on the prisoner. She took great pride in reading others' emotions and knowing exactly how to respond to get her way. But, her eyes were blank. No emotions crossed over her features, as if she wasn't there mentally.

Immediately, she began to plan on scolding the girl for not accurately portraying dominace or power over the prisoner, but her thoughts faultered when she saw the girl frozen in her place. Her posture was too rigid and straight, and her knuckles on her bow were turning white. Slowly, the girl raised her bow, ready to fire. She felt adrenaline begin to kick through her veins, and a smile begin to creep onto her face. She has never been so ready for anything in her life.

It was in slow motion. She saw the girl's torso turn towards herself and the arrow was drawn back even further. There was no time to truly accept what was happening. She couldn't move, her feet were frozen in place, so she was forced to watch. It was her own execution.

The arrow reached her faster than she expected. It lodged itself deep into her chest and she couldn't force out a sound. The momentum of the arrow forced her backwards and she felt the slick surface of the railing behind her. Terrified thoughts entered her mind when realized she was going to fall. This was not how it was going to end. She was supposed to become President of Panem. She was going to go further than the leaders before her. She felt all her aspirations get out of the reach of her hands as she fell.

She didn't hear the cries from the crowd or the scuffle going on above. Before she hit the ground she silently cursed the Everdeen girl for taking everything away from her. Then, she was gone.

So, after much deliberation, I have decided to post one more chapter after this, (President Snow). I am deeply sorry for the incredibly long time period that I didn't update, so I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to review/like/alert this story. It really means the world to me. I hope this chapter correctly portrays President Coin, especially since you guys have waited so long.

Again, thank you!
