This is like, the third time I posted this chapter, but I realized that before, it was just a repeat of chapter sixteen. Anyway, if you want to, you can reread this chapter.
Chapter Seventeen
"ThunderClan is thriving!" yowled Bramblestar. "We have a new litter of kits! Goldenkit, Thistlekit Hollykit, Honeykit, and Dreamkit." Dovewing purred. Lionblaze and Cinderheart had chosen perfect names.
"I think it's time we made Lilypaw and Seedpaw warriors." He continued. Sorreltail hurried over to her two daughters and licked their fur flat. Brackenfur followed, purring. Bramblestar's whiskers twitched with amusement as he waited for Sorreltail to finish grooming her kits. Finally, Sorreltail let them pad forward. Bramblestar cleared his throat.
"Cloudtail, is Lilypaw ready to become a warrior?" The white tom nodded solemnly.
"She is." Lilypaw could hardly contain her excitement as Bramblestar called her forward.
"Lilypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code with your life?" Lilypaw froze, then managed to whisper,
"I do."
"Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forward, you will be known as Lilywish." Lilywish's eyes sparkled as her Clanmates called her new name. Seedpaw stepped forward nervously.
"Don't be afraid." Purred Bramblestar. "Do you want your warrior name or not?" At that, Seedpaw lurched forward.
"Berrynose, has your apprentice shown the skills needed to become a warrior?" The tom puffed up his chest proudly.
"She has!" Seedpaw sighed in relief.
"Seedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code with your life?" Seedpaw nodded eagerly.
"I do!" her words rang out confidently around the clearing.
"Then by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forward, your name will be Seedfall." Sorreltail leapt to her paws.
"Seedfall! Lilywish!" she cried, weaving around her kits. Dovewing purred and joined her Clanmates to congratulate the new warriors. After the ceremony, the Clan dispersed. Dovewing padded into the nursery and curled up in her nest. She glanced down at Cinderheart as she passed her. The queen was asleep; after all, she must have been exhausted after giving birth. Millie was sleeping with Shadekit and Fernkit curled up next to her, and Squirrelflight was breathing slowly in the corner. So where was Daisy?
Ivypool slipped into the warrior den and curled up in her nest. She tried to think of the Dark Forest, hoping her dreams would lead her there, but when she woke up, she was standing in a star light clearing. The air was fresh and clean, and the undergrowth was thick. Where am I?
"Hello?" her voice rang out tentatively across the clearing. Almost immediately, a beautiful white she-cat appeared and began walking towards her. The she-cat dipped her head respectfully.
"Greetings, Ivypool. I'm Snowfur, Bluestar's sister. I expect you've heard of Bluestar." Ivypool nodded numbly. Am I in StarClan?
"What have you brought me here for?" Snowfur's eyes darkened.
"To tell you the second part of the prophecy." Ivypool gulped nervously.
"The first part being...?" She assumed it was the prophecy Jayfeather had told them, but she couldn't be too sure.
"The darkness has passed, but your troubles are not over. An old enemy will arise from the ashes. Four kits will be born the kin of gray and fire. They shall carry the destiny of the clans on their backs." Snowfur replied somberly. Ivypool shifted her paws. I knew it. She thought. Snowfur cleared her throat.
"You must wake soon, but first, I must tell you the rest of the prophecy. Four cats, the four kits of thunder will save the forest, with powers beyond that of the three in their paws." Ivypool leapt to her paws. She could see Snowfur starting to fade, but she tried desperately to hold on to the vision.
"Snowfur, wait! What does it mean?" but she was already awake. Molefoot grunted as she kicked him.
"What are you doing?" he muttered sleepily. "Fighting a battle in here?" Ivypool sighed.
"Sorry." She slipped out of her den and awoke Jayfeather. The blind gray tom lashed out with unsheathed claws. Ivypool leapt back as the tom jumped to his feet.
"Jayfeather!" she cried. "It's me, Ivypool." Jayfeather straightened up and glared at her.
"Well why are you waking me up in the middle of the night?" Ivypool took a shaky breath.
"Um," she began, "I've received a second part of the prophecy." Suddenly, Jayfeather was wide-awake.
"Come on! What are you waiting for? I'll get Lionblaze, and you get Dovewing. Meet back here." Ivypool nodded and hurried into the nursery.
"Dovewing?" she called softly. But her sister's nest was cold and empty.
Jayfeather darted into the warrior den and prodded Lionblaze awake. As the golden warrior stretched, Jayfeather pushed him anxiously.
"Hurry up, Ivypool's got to tell us something." Finally, his brother padded after him into the clearing. Jayfeather slid past the bramble screen to the medicine den. Ivypool was waiting, her tail swishing nervously. Jayfeather scented the air.
"Where's Dovewing?" Ivypool gulped nervously.
"She wasn't there." She meowed meekly. Jayfeather lashed his tail angrily.
"We can find her later. This is urgent." Lionblaze paced across the medicine clearing. Jayfeather ignored him, and leaned forward, waiting to hear the rest of the prophecy.
"So," Ivypool said. "Snowfur sent me a dream, and she told me the rest of the prophecy. We already knew the beginning. The darkness has passed, but your troubles are not over. An old enemy will arise from the ashes. Four kits will be born the kin of gray and fire. They shall carry the destiny of the clans on their backs. And that means..." Jayfeather swishing his tail impatiently cut off Ivypool.
"Come on." He snapped. "Get to the point." Ivypool cleared her throat.
"As I was saying, Snowfur told me the rest of the prophecy: Four cats, the four kits of thunder will save the forest, with the power beyond that of the three in their paws." Jayfeather listened in awe. He felt Lionblaze shift next to him.
"So, these new cats in the prophecy, they'll hold power beyond ours in their paws?" Jayfeather froze.
"What?" he gasped. "That can't happen. If- if we're more powerful than the stars, how can four kits be more powerful than us?" Ivypool shrugged.
"Well, I don't know when these kits are going to come, but keep an ear out." With that, she mewed in fair well and padded out of the den with Lionblaze, leaving Jayfeather alone with his thoughts.
Okay, done. R&R!
