"...He's gone back in, hasn't he?"
"I think so..." Oh crap! What am I gonna do?! It wasn't like he'd done it on purpose the first time. Ok, just stay calm. He's not dead. He's in the game. He's come out before...
"Gone back in where?"
"Ok we're going now. I'll explain later." Obito was thankful that Zabuza was taking away the other as it meant he could just concentrate on the task in hand.
Seeing as the last time it had involved fighting bandits or at least magic, Obito started up the latest save file and prepared for battle. The last time he'd saved the game had been the night that Kakashi had emerged so it was in exactly the same place that the boy had emerged from. It seemed it hadn't saved the fact that he'd killed those bandits so it was in the midst of battle that the game started up.
"Fuck off you twats! I haven't got time for this!" All he wanted to do was get Kakashi out of there so all the messing around with enemies just wouldn't help. The only plus side was that since it was in the midst of battle that it had happened last time so maybe this would trigger it.
Admittedly he was out of practice but every time Kakashi got hurt he could feel himself panicking. He didn't want to risk anything happening. What if he died in the game and as a result got stuck in there? There was no way he was risking this.
Sadly the game didn't care and continued to spawn not only more bandits, but wolves, giants and even a dragon just to annoy him. It was lucky that Kakashi was highly levelled so he could deal with most of these easily... Except for the giant, he simply chose to run for that one. He hated those things at the best of times.
As soon as he got to a small town area he started his messing around. This mainly involved sending out sparks of lightning everywhere and hoping that some of it had the same effect as before. The lightning never spread to the corners of the screen and he grew gradually more frustrated as time went on.
"Why won't you work you stupid piece of crap!" Maybe screaming at the screen wouldn't help but it made him feel better. When he heard Shisui coming back in he paused the game and dashed into him. At least then he could share his problem with somebody else. Hopefully he would know what to do.
"Shisui!" It was rare that Obito cared that much when he arrived so of course he knew something must be wrong.
"Ok, what have you done this time?"
"Me?! I didn't do anything! It was Kakashi's stupid fault!"
"What did he do then?"
"He accidentally got pulled back into that stupid game!"
"What? How? And how are you going to get him out?"
"I don't know! I've tried with the lightning and I tried fighting things but it's not doing it. I don't want Kakashi to get hurt in case it has a real effect."
"That's a fair point. But what are you going to do? Maybe we could unplug it?"
"No! Why would you say that?!"
"Well it was a power cut that did it last time, wasn't it?"
"But what if it didn't work? I could lose him!" The shock was wearing off now and he was started to get really scared.
"Well how did Zabuza get loose?"
"Kakashi did it!"
"Well I think that might be an idea." Obito looked blank so Shisui groaned. "Why don't you ask Zabuza to help Kakashi out?"
"..."
"What?"
"...I didn't think of that." It was just such an obvious idea. He wanted to slap himself. "But he left!"
"He was here?"
"He was round with Gai when it happened."
"And you just let him leave?!"
"He was getting Gai out the way!"
"That's all well and good but we might need his help!"
"Shit! Can you make sure no one touches the Xbox? And leave it on pause!"
"Ok! Just be quick. Because I am not explaining any of this to mum."
"Yeah, yeah." Now where do they live again?
-Page Break-
"Right Zabuza, electrocute the TV!" This was met by scowls by both of them.
"You dragged me back here just for that? I thought that was what pulled him back in!" It had been bad enough he'd had to explain his origins to one of the most foolish people around. He'd only sat down for a few seconds when Obito had stormed in shouting something about lightning and began dragging him out the door.
"Well that's how it usually works. Now get to it!" Shisui put paid to this when he whacked his foolish brother on the head. "What was that for?!"
"If you break the goddamn TV, how will that help? And I'm pretty sure it involved more than just zapping the shit out of everything."
"But I don't know!" Obito was becoming increasingly worried and frustrated at how useless he was right now. "I just want him back!"
"...This may be a stupid idea but did you think of just letting him make his own way out?" Zabuza's remark was met with silence.
"...Would that even be possible?"
"I was playing it for ages and it's been on! If he could've done then he would."
"It's paused right now though."
"Maybe so but I don't think it'll work."
"Shall I just try the lightning?" Zabuza and Obito looked at Shisui who groaned.
"Fine but any damages are being paid by both of you." Of course he went and sat on the far side of the room. It was hard to forget the troll incident and if there was a repeat of that he wanted to be at a good distance.
"Now how did he do it?"
"It's hard to explain but he sort of moved the lightning around the screen until it went through and into the game..."
"...That isn't very helpful."
"I know! I don't know much about these things!"
"Well get it off pause and I'll make an attempt. I don't really want to get stuck in there too."
Zabuza leant down next to the TV and as soon as the game restarted began charging up some lightning. He couldn't form as much as Kakashi as he was more of an ice magic user but he could do enough.
"Will this do?"
"Yeah... Now I think last time he just pushed his hand onto the screen right in the middle and aimed towards whatever he was trying to bring through."
"Didn't he put his hand in the middle of the screen just then?"
"No... He tried to throw a fucking lightning bolt through it." Because for once he was being the moron.
"Wow. If he gets out of here I'm never letting him forget that."
"You're not the only one. Now go!"
Zabuza grimaced but slammed his hand onto the screen. Yet again the lightning filled the screen around Kakashi and Obito gripped the side of his chair hoping that it would work. There was a flash of light, a loud cracking noise, and a lot of smoke.
"Zabuza? Are you ok?"
"I think so..." He could still feel his limbs so at least there was that.
"I-is Kakashi there?"
"Wait a second." Although he couldn't see that well he began feeling around the floor until he felt something warm and person shaped. "Well there's someone here."
Shisui pulled a window open and the smoke cleared a little revealing Kakashi lying unconscious on the floor.
"Oh shit. Bakakashi!" Obito ran over and started prodding him hard in the side.
"Is that going to help if he's somehow injured?"
"...Just shut up."
"Don't bother explaining things to my brother, he's an idiot."
"I've noticed."
"Go to hell!" He was distracted from the evil bastards when Kakashi sat up holding his head and groaning. "Kakashi! Are you ok?! Are you hurt?" The white haired boy looked over at him with a pained expression.
"...Who are you?"
"...Oh crap."
"We should've guessed this might happen."
"Shut up Shisui!" Oh shit! He doesn't remember anything! Which means he doesn't love me! Which means-. Obito started crying.
"...Um, Obito? You do realise I was kidding right?" Eh?! He looked up to see Kakashi raising an eyebrow at him. It took him a few minutes to process this fact before punching his asshole boyfriend square in the face.
"You son of a bitch! Do you know how worried I was?! And then you pull that crap!"
"You didn't have to punch me that hard, it was just a joke."
"You'll really have brain damage by the time I'm done with you!" He dove on top of Kakashi whilst the other two watched.
"...Should we stop him?"
"Nah. The guy has it coming. Thanks for your help by the way..."
"Well I know Obito would've beaten the crap out of me if I didn't."
"Not to mention I would've sent Hidan round."
"... Your family is merciless."
"Oh I know."
