Glammie: Ok, so I've finally decided on names and my next project.

Rin: What is it?

Glammie: I'm considering writing my own story called "The World of Make-Pretend" on FictionPress or a sequel to this story.

Yukio: Sounds great.

Rin: I'd read both of them.

Yukio: Rin, you don't even read.

Rin: What was that you Four-Eyed Mole?

Glammie: Enough sibling rivalry for now. Rin put your flames out.

Rin: Ok.

Yukio: Glammiegirl328 does not own Soul Eater, however she loves Blue Exrocist.

Glammie: What? It's a good show.

Pumpkins and Placentas

It was the home stretch. Maka was due any day now. That, of course, made life more stressful for everyone.

After the two parents got back together, the gang thought they could breathe a bit longer, but 9 months was creeping up fast, and it seemed like everyone had baby fever. Shopping had to be done, a baby shower planned, and a nursery to set up. Maka needed all the help she could get. Of course she had her friends and her boyfriend. Even her dad had seemed ready and helpful, filling in where her mother couldn't. Her father had finally reluctantly accepted that his baby girl was pregnant, but telling him wasn't easy.

(FLASHBACK FLASHBACK FLASHBACK)

Maka:(Nervously pacing) Do we have to do this?

Arusa: Now you know perfectly well that you can't hide this pregnancy any longer.

Maka: We could always try.

Arusa: Maka... (Smirking)

Maka: I know, I know. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this. What if he's angry?

Arusa: Even if he is angry, he won't stop loving you.

Maka: I know. (Thinking for a second) Do you have your cup on?

Arusa: Yeah. (Nodding) Tell me again why I need it?

Maka: Because, my dad my try to prohibit you from having anymore kids.

Arusa:(Frowning) He'd kick me in the balls!?

Maka: Maybe. I mean I don't blame him. (Rubbing her stomach) I mean, what would you do if one of our little girls came home saying she was pregnant.

Arusa: I'd punch the guy's face in. (Smirking) Well, lucky we're having boys.

Maka opened her mouth to argue, but then her father walked in the door. She didn't smell any alcohol on him, so she knew that he hadn't been to the bar. Thank Death, talking to him would be much easier if he's sober.

Maka: Hey Papa.

Spirit:(Smiling brightly) Maka, how's my darling daughter?

Maka: Fine dad. (Smiling back)

Arusa: Hello Mr. Albarn.

Spirit:(Frowning) Hey kid.

Arusa laughed quietly at that.

Spirit: So, what brings you two here?

Maka:(Motioning to the couch) Have a seat dad.

Spirit took a seat looking between the two. He could tell something had happened, but he didn't know what.

Spirit: Ok...explain.

Maka: (Wringing her scarf) Um...well. Ok, if I tell you, you have to promise not to get mad.

Spirit:(Glaring at Arusa) I only promise to try.

Maka:(Taking a deep breath) D-dad...I'm (Another breath) I'm pregnant.

Maka watched as Spirit looked from her eyes to her stomach to Arusa. He changed colors from a lack of breathing.

Maka: Papa, say something.

Spirit:(Moving his eyes to Arusa) Do you want to die today or after the kid is born.

Arusa: Actually it's kids.

Spirit frowned even more at that and put his head in his hands.

Spirit: Maka, I just don't understand. I thought you were smart enough not to do things like this. Especially what happened between me and your mother.

Maka:(Tears falling down) I am. I understand that you and Mama had your issues, but Arusa and I are determined to make this work.

Spirit: Well, I can't change your decision, but I hope you are ready for this responsibility.

Maka nodded and grabbed her boyfriend's hand.

Spirit: Maka, I need you to leave the room for a second.

Maka got up and left to the next room. She knew this was coming. She knew that her father didn't like Arusa. What was he going to say to him?

Once she was gone Spirit turned to Arusa and motioned for him to sit.

Spirit: You know kid, I kinda liked you at first. Even after finding out that you are the kishin, I never stopped liking you. People can say what they want, but you always made my little girl happy.

Arusa smiled a bit at that.

Spirit: This is why I can't understand why you didn't wait. I mean you guys are too young for this.

Arusa: I couldn't wait any longer Mr. Albarn. She is the whole reason I am back in this world. She makes me exist.

Spirit:(Leaning back and crossing his arms) I understand that you love each other and you're soul mates, but I think you could have waited until after marriage to give her a baby.

Arusa: Yeah, that was kinda not in my plan. I was going to ask her to marry me, but that wasn't until graduation. (Admitting sheepishly)

Spirit: I just don't want her to get hurt. She saw what her mother and I went through. I think that kinda made her put up a wall on men, but you started to take it down.

Arusa: I would never hurt her. She and our kids are the most precious things I have.

Spirit:(Nodding in approval) Good. And if you do hurt her, no kishin strength will keep you out of hell.

Arusa:(Nodding) Understood.

(END OF FLASHBACK END OF FLASHBACK)

Maka was happy that her father was on board because he was a big help financially because Maka and Arusa were shopping for a bigger space for them and their children to live in. They decided it was time that they started making this family work. So, Soul had to sacrifice his roommate, best friend and personal chef.

Maka:(Stepping into the dining space of one of the houses) Wow, this is nice.

Arusa stepped in behind her, holding her hand and nodding.

Arusa: Yeah, it is.

Blair: Blair knew you would love it. I know what Maka likes.

Maka:(Smiling and sweatdropping) Blair, how is it that you became a real estate agent?

Blair: Well, while you and Souly were away, Blair got bored and took classes online. So now Blair gets to help people find their dream house.

Arusa: Well I'm glad. Now, can we see the bedrooms.

Blair: Sure thing! (Walking up the stairs)

They reached the second floor that held three bedrooms. Maka and Arusa had decided that they would get a three bedroom house becauss the twins to share a room until they were old enough to be om their own.

Blair: Ok, here is the master bedroom, (Opening the first of the three doors) it's very large with a connected bathroom.

They walked in, looked around and nodded.

The second and third bedrooms were around the same size. The bathroom was across the hall.

Maka: Oh Death, I can imagine the fights for the bathroom.

Arusa: We'll buy ear plugs.

Maka: But, what if they attempt to kill each other?

Arusa: They won't. They'll be too scared to get chopped by you. (Smirking)

Maka:(Rolling her eyes) You're just a regular comedian aren't you?

Arusa: I was actually thinking of pursuing it as a career.

Maka: I dislike you.

Arusa: Love you too.

(Time Skip...)

Maka had a plan for today. They had finally moved into the new house, started the nursery, and were getting ready for their children to be born. Maka had decided that she was going to see if Arusa was dad ready, and now was to put her plan in action. Armed with a water balloon in her pants and a timer in her hoody, she walked into the kitchen where Arusa was making eggs.

Arusa: Morning beautiful. (Leaning over for a kiss)

Maka: Good Morning. (Kissing him quickly on his lips)

Arusa: What's up? You're never up this early.

Maka:(Shaking her head) No reason.

Arusa shrugged letting it go. He took out more food and began to make Maka some. Maka gratefully accepted, ate and smirked at what she was planning. She let Arusa enjoy the majority of his food before she decided to put her plan in action. Popping the balloon with her thighs, she let the water trickle to the floor.

Maka: Arusa!

Arusa:(Looking up alarmed) What! What's wrong?!

Maka:(Pointing to her pants) My water broke... (Starting the timer)

There was a moment of silence as Arusa processed this. Then he sprung to action. Grabbing Maka's hospital bag, her comfy pillow, and car keys, he ran out the door and put the stuff in the car.

While he was gone, Maka took the balloon out and started to act as if she was uncomfortable. She held her stomach and started doing her breathing exercises. It was hard for her to stay in character because she wanted to laugh so bad.

Arusa walked back in and Maka held her role. He carefully helped her into a clean pair of bottoms. Then he guided her to the car. Once inside Maka stopped her breathing and relaxed. Arusa walked to the driver's seat, got in and turned the ignition.

Maka: Okay. (Looking over at Arusa)

Arusa: Okay?

Maka: My water never actually broke. I was just pretending so I could time you.

Arusa: Oh thank Death. Not to make a bad Crona reference, but I don't think I could deal with that.

Maka laughed. There was so much to do in so little time, they couldn't afford for the babies to be early.

The next day the started painting the nursery. They had decided on a nuetral tone of yellows and light greens. Since they didn't know the genders of the babies, they had also decided to make both sides similar and gender nuetral. The room was themed around the safari, so there were giraffes, zebras, monkeys and adorable stuffed lions. The cribs were both light brown with cartoon animal blankets and animsl print borders.

Maka:(Getting up after painting the far right wall of the room) Ok, I think this is a good color.

Arusa: Yeah, because boys need masculine things like animals and the jungle.

Maka: Well, girls need adorable things like these stuffed monkeys.

Arusa: Well, I already know we are getting two boys, so there's no need to have these.

Maka stuck her tongue out.

Arusa:(Laughing) So childish.

Maka:(Shrugging) Whatever. (Thinking for a second) Actually, you missed a spot.

Arusa:(Frowning and looking at the wall) Where?

Maka:(Smacking his cheek with a paint brush) Here.

Arusa touched her cheek and looked at the light green on his hand. In the corner, Maka was laughing hysterically.

Arusa: Oh, so you think this is funny.

He then walked over to her and wiped his brush on her cheek. Maka looked at him and scowled.

Arusa: Ha. Actually I kinda see the humor.

Maka: You jerk! (Throwing a actually wet brush at him)

After the fiest shot was fired, there was an all out paint war that left two very exhausted and colorful young parents.

For the next couple of days leading up to the baby shower, Maka and Arusa were running last minute errands. They had several nursery things that had to be tweaked and cleaned. Also, they were missing things that they expected to get at the baby shower.

The day of the baby shower Maka was stressed. The kids had kept her up all night because the wouldn't stop moving around. The nursery wasn't completed yet and she was sore.

Arusa was getting the cupcakes for the baby shower and Tsubaki was setting up the decorations.

By 2:00 the guests started coming. Each one was carrying a gift and was excited to see the parents to be. By 2:30, the party was in full swing. Tsubaki had done a great job with the decorations, and the cupcakes were perfect.

Maka smiled and switched to being a good hostess. She laughed and mingled with her guests, getting a lot of tummy touches and congratulations.

Black*Star: Ok, everyone to the living room. Maka is opening the presents.

Maka sat in a rocking chair with an idiotic hat on. She didn't know who the hell had made up the tradition, but currently she was at the mercy of Soul and Arusa's jokes, Her hand was itching for a book, and she had a budding suspicion that Arusa hid all her books for that specific reason.

Tsubaki handed the first gift to Maka.

Maka: Ok, this is from Soul.

She opened it to find a cd in a case.

Soul: It's me playing the piano. They say it's supposed to make them smart or something. (Shrugging and grinning)

Maka smiled back and put the cd to the side. The next gift was a beautifully wrapped black present. It was so perfect that she didn't want to unwrap it.

Maka: I'm guessing that this is Kid's?

Kid: Yeah. What gave it away?

Maka: Oh nothing. (Smirking and carefully unwrapping the gift)

This one was some rulers and toy cleaning supplies.

Black*Star: Wow, dude. You have serious issues.

Soul: You shoukd really see someone for this.

Kid attempted to defend himself. It had to go along the lines of he wanted his neice and nephew to understand symmetry. Maka went through the rest of the gifts. Nygus and Sid had gotten a firstaid kit. Liz and Pattie got them matching blankets, and Black*Star had gotten them a poster of his signature. Tsubaki had gotten the a pretty ball to play with. Justin bought them headphones. Lord Death got them mini shinigami plushies. Jacqueline and Kim got a car seat. Kilik bought a baby tub with matching robes. Crona had gotten each of the kids a stuffed bunny rabbit.

The funniest gift, however, was a dvd from Excalibur. It was his five hour storytelling. Maka and Arusa both Excalibur-faced as they put the gift to the side. The second runner up was Stein who insisted that a "My First Dissection Kit" was appropriate.

There was one gift left. Tsubaki handed it to Maka. It was from her father and mother. When she opened it, it was a large book of nursery rhymes.

Spirit: Your mother had decided that we would read to you when you first came home. So we read this book to you cover to cover. It took us a while but we never forgot to read to to you.

Makasmiled brightly and got up to hug her father tightly.

Maka: Thank you Papa. You're the best! (Kissing him on his cheek)

Spirit: I think that's the first time you said that to me in a while.

Maka smirked, hugged him one more time and walked back to her seat. On her way there she felt something wet trickle down her leg. She froze.

Arusa: What's wrong?

Maka: My water just broke.

As soon as she said that, there was a panic. Arusa was running to get her things, Soul was helping him, Tsubaki was getting Maka's change of clothes and Kid was getting the car. They rushed to the hospital. Knowing that they all couldn't go at the same time, Maka, Arusa, Soul and Tsubaki went. The others would clean up and meet them there.

They got to the ER in 30 minutes. Maka had begun to have contractions and it pained Arusa to hear her groan in pain.

He ran to the desk.

Receptionist: Can I help you?

Arusa: My girlfriend went into labor.

Reseptionist: Ok, we are calling your doctor. We'll be take her to the third floor. One of the nurses will take you there.

Arusa: Ok, thank you.

(Time skip)

Maka had been having contractions more frequently and they had begun to last longer. It was highly uncomfortable. Everytime she had a contraction she shot Arusa a dirty look or blamed him for her condition. Thankfully her doctor had come.

Doctor: Well Ms. Albarn, you should be ready for birth in a couple more minutes. You are 9cm dilated.

Maka nodded. then she winced at the pain and looked over at Arusa.

Maka:(Frowning) You know this is your fault!

Arusa had learned from Spirit not to argue with Maka because there was no way you would win, especially now.

After a couple of minutes they wheeled Maka into the delivery room. Tsubaki was on one side of her holding hand and Arusa was on the other. Soul, who preferred not to watch the miracle of birth, decided to wait in the waiting room with the others, giving them the news that she was beginning to deliver.

Maka had been placed in the other bed and her legs put up. The doctor put on her gloves and got between Maka's legs.

Doctor: Ok Ms. Albarn, when I say so you are going to push as hard as you can.

Maka nodded and braced herself. She gripped Arusa's hand hard and took a deep breath in.

Doctor: One...Two...Three...Push!

Maka pushed with all her might, and the pain was excruciating.

Maka:(Yelling at Arusa) I hate you. I swear to Death I am never sleeping with you again!

The doctor yelled for her to push again.

Maka: Tsubaki, if you and Black*Star ever decide to have children, I don't suggest it. Screw this miracle of birth crap, I feel like I'm pooping out a pumpkin.

There were several more pushes until Maka her the sound of a baby crying.

Doctor: It's a girl.

Maka: Ha! I told you. (To Arusa)

Arusa had been a good sport in this birth. He clipped the umbilical cord and smiled.

Arusa: There is still one left.

A couple pushes later, the next baby was out.

Doctor: It's a boy.

Arusa: Ha! I told you so.

He clipped the other umbilical cord and the babies were cleaned and dressed.

Maka was exhausted and fell back in the bed when it was over. She looked over at her boyfriend.

Maka: Can I see them?

Arusa wheeled the two beds over to her's. When he got there Maka looked at her children. Her son and daughter were both sleeping peacefully.

Maka: They're beautiful.

Arusa: Well, they have a beautiful mother.

Maka: And a handsome father.

That was the last thing Maka said before her world went blank.

Maka woke up the next day to her father, Soul, Lord Death, Tsubaki and Arusa sitting on the room.

Soul:(Looking over) Oi, sleepy head. Did you have a good nap?

Maka nodded and looked over at her dad.

Maka: Hey, Papa. How long have I been asleep? (Stretching)

Spirit: A day.

Maka blinked for a second, remembering something.

Maka: Where are the kids?

Arusa: Right here. (Moving the beds)

Maka looked at her son and daughter. They were awake now. Her daughter had black hair with fair skin and green eyes. Her son had blonde hair with with bloody red eyes.

Maka: They are like a pefect mix of the both of us.

Arusa: Yeah. Except they don't have names yet.

Maka: Right (Looking at the babies)

Maka had remembered the baby naming list in her bag. She asked Arusa to hand it to her and she opened it up.

Maka: Well, we kinda knew that this would happen despite our hopes for one gender.

Arusa: Yeah, what did we decide on?

Maka:(Looking at the paper) Ok, the boy was Isamu Akito Albarn-Death and the girl name was Itsu Aiko Albarn-Death.

Arusa: I like 'em. They've got a nice ring to it.

Maka: I agree.

The rest of the group nodded in agreement. The new additions, Isamu and Itsu were finally here.

But the moment was soon broke as Itsu started crying. The sound of his older sister cry made Isamu cry as well.

Maka: Well, that didn't last long. (Picking up Isamu)

Arusa: Nope. (Picking up Itsu)

Extras:

Glammie: Yes! I'm done another chapter. Sadly the next chapter will be the last, but don't fret. I might continue. Also the name Isamu means bravery because ya know. It was the one word that helped Maka kick ass and Itsu means peace.
