Glammie: Omg! It's the final chapter of this story.
Arusa: Aww, are you sad? Do you want me to call nine-wah-wah? Do you need the wah-bulance? Or would you just like a cold Whine-ken?
Glammie: Hush up, I'm just a bit sentimental because this was my baby. I started it in December 26th, 2012 and it's ending December 1st, 2013. It feels almost full circle.
Arusa: So, what are you doing after this is over.
Glammie: You'll just have to find out in the extras. Now do our last disclaimer.
Arusa: Glammiegirl328 does not own Soul Eater, but she will miss this story.
Glammie: I promised myself I wouldn't cry.
The Grand Finale
Parenting had not been hard for the two new parents. They seemed to be filling into their roles of mom and dad quickly. They had duel diaper duty. Each parent change the same child for a whole day and then switched to the other twin. They each decided it was better because it showed each twin equal love. However, if one twin just had diarrhea that day, that parent just had to deal with it.
The twins were 2 months old and both had begun to sleep through the night. The first night they did that, Maka panicked.
(FLASHBACK FLASHBACK FLASHBACK )
Maka woke up suddenly. She took a deep breath and looked over at the alarm clock. It was 3:30 am. She got up and went to the bathroom. On her walk back, she thought that it was too peaceful. She climbed into bed and tried to sleep.
Her eyes opened.
Where was the crying?
Maka:(Nudging her boyfriend) Arusa, hey, Arusa...
Arusa:(Rolling over) Mmm...Nnn...huh? What's up? (Sitting up)
Maka: Did you feed the twins or checked on them?
Arusa: No...I thought you did . I didn't hear them cry.
Maka: Not me. It seemed too quiet when I walked to the bathroom.
Maka sat there for a half a second and then ran towards the twins' room.
She got there first with Arusa right behind her. When she neared the door, she flung it open. She ran to the closest crib and looked inside. Lying there was little Itsu fast asleep. She was curled up in a little ball breathing evenly.
Maka:(Whispering) Thank Death.
Arusa: You're welcome.
Maka: Not you, genius. How's our son?
Arusa: Sleeping like a baby, no pun intended.
Maka smirked and shook her head.
Arusa: Now that we know our kids aren't dead, can we go back to bed? (Gently leading her out of the room)
Maka: I guess.
(END OF FLASHBACK END OF FLASHBACK)
In addition to their childhood development, they also had to see how they were developing with their powers. Knowing that they inherited black blood from both parents, Lord Death, Professor Stein, and the death sythes had to watch the children carefully and make sure that their powers weren't growing so fast that by the age of two they'd be able to destroy a city.
It scared Maka at how crazy powerful her children could become. It also made her fear that her children would never have a normal life. That's all she wanted for Itsu and Isamu, to be treated no different, not like monsters or science experiments.
Lord Death: (Coming in from the examination room) Well their powers seem to be increasing, but not by much.
Maka: So what do you think will happen?
Lord Death: Hard to say. They could never reach there full power due to your Grigori Soul that might have a canceling effect on the black blood.
Stein: Or,they could gain them in one big magical growth spurt. (Exiting the examination room door)
Arusa: And if that happens?
Stein: According to my calculations, it would mean that they would become mentally unstable and that they might become dangerous.
Maka: How soon can we find out if this will happen?
Lord Death: With Kiddo we found out after his first birthday, so that might be the safest bet.
Arusa: So, in about 10 months?
Stein: More or less. (Shrugging)
Maka: Great, just when I thought we could breathe about one thing.
Maka left the room to get the twins ready to leave. Arusa stayed behind in the other room to speak to his father and Professor Stein.
Arusa sat there with a deep look on his face.
Lord Death: What's troubling you, son?
Arusa: I'm just considering what I should do.
Lord Death: About the kids? Arusa you shouldn't worry too much about it now.
Arusa: It's not that. I just don't know how I'm going to the most important thing in my life.
Lord Death: What's that?
Arusa:(Blushing) Ask Maka to be my wife.
Stein: Are you sure that's what you want?
Arusa: I've never been more sure about anything in my entire life.
Lord Death: Well, I give you my blessing.
Arusa:(Smirking) Thanks Dad!
Lord Death: First grandchildren, now a daughter, I've been given so much this year.
Arusa: You and me both dad.
(Time Skip)
Arusa had decided that unlike last time where he didn't ask anyone to help him with their first date, he would ask that every one of his friends be involved in the engagement.
Ofcourse everyone was excited, the girls squealed with joy and the guys grinned and congratulated him.
Tsubaki: Oh my Death, my baby girl!
Liz:(Patting Arusa on the back) It's about time you decided to do this.
Pattie: I wanna be the flower girl!
Everyone sweatdropped.
Arusa:(Turning towards his younger brother) You gonna be my best man dude?
Kid: Of course.
Soul: Ok wait wait wait wait, whoa! (Shaking his hands)
Everyone turned to the shark toothed boy at the front of the room.
Soul: How the heck are we supposed to pull this off?
Silence.
Soul: Exactly, we need to come up with a plan, or else it will be a disaster like Black*Star's cooking.
Black*Star: Hey man (Pointing at Soul) I make a mean cup of tea.
Tsubaki:(Nodding in agreement) He does.
Black*Star: Besides, who died and made you boss?
Soul: I did. Listen, Maka and I have been friends for a years. I know her likes and dislikes.
Arusa: Then I'm putting you and Tsubaki in charge of planning it.
Soul and Tsubaki smirked at each other. With their extensive knowledge about Maka this was bound to be something she would remember for the rest of her life.
(A Week Later)
Arusa: Maka, we need to go. (Yelling up the stairs)
Maka: Ok, ok, I'm coming!
She walked down the stairs. She smirked when she saw her boyfriend starring.
Maka: What?
Arusa: You are so gorgeous.
Maka was wearing a black dress with a pair of lace booties and her hair in a bun.
Maka: You're not so bad looking yourself.
Arusa was wearing a black dress shirt and a pair of black jeans. Keeping with his tradition of laid back footwear, he wore a pair of black Vans.
Arusa: Well, I don't mean to toot my own horn.
Maka:(Smirking) Then don't.
Maka laughed as Arusa's face fell into a pout. Kissing him on the cheek, she walked into the living room where her father was sitting. He was flipping through channels when the couple walked in. When he heard them enter, he turned his head.
Maka: Ok, Dad, the kids are asleep. They'll probably wake up like once for a bottle since it's early, but they should be good. Thanks for watching them on short notice.
Spirit: No problem sweetie, I mean what grandparent doesn't want to watch their grandchildren every once in a while.
Maka:(Smirking) Well, I'll go over the rules.
Spirit: How many rules can a couple of infants have? (Raising an eyebrow)
Maka: Oh no, they're not for them, they're for you.
After going over the long list of rules and emphasizing that there was ,under no circumstances, alcohol or strange women allowed in her home, Maka walked over to her boyfriend who was holding her coat.
Spirit: You kids have fun.
Maka: Well, if the dinner goes well and nothing crazy happens, then I might have fun.
Spirit: Oh you'll have fun.
Maka: What's that supposed to mean?
Spirit: Oh, nothing. (Winking at a smirking Arusa)
Arusa: Maka, if we don't leave right now, we're going to be late.
Maka:(Nodding) Ok, later Papa.
Maka put on her coat and they got in the car. They were driving to a jazz restaurant that Soul had invited them to. Apparently he was playing publicly again. He had invited the whole gang and told them it was a black tie event.
When Maka and Arusa pulled up to the place, there were a lot of cars there. Ahe guessed that maybe word had gotten out that Soul was playing.
The walked in to see a lot of Maka's classmates. Her friends were sitting close to the stage . They had only known it was them because Black*Star was waving at them like an idiot. Smirking and shaking their heads they walked over to the table. There were two empty seats the closest to the stage. Arusa pulled out Maka's chair and she sat and thanked him.
Tsubaki: I'm so excited for this.
Maka: What? It's not like we never heard Soul play before.
Kid: But this is the first time he's done it for more than just us.
The rest of the table nodded in agreement.
Soon the food was brought out and they began to eat. Maka was happy because tonight's special was pasta, amd she couldn't resist ordering it. Arusa chuckled when he saw her face, saying that she looked like a kid being told they were going to Disney World.
Announcer:(Talking on a microphone) Mr. Evans will be ready to begin in a moment.
Arusa:(Standing up) I'll be back, gotta use the bathroom.
Maka:(Looking up at him) But, Soul will be ready to go on soon.
Arusa:(Smirking at her) Trust me, I won't be gone long.
Arusa walked passed the stage to where the restrooms were.
Maka:(Frowning) I hope that he doesn't take long.
They were finishing up there food when the announcer's voice came back.
Announcer: And now, the moment you've all been waiting for, Mr. Soul Evans.
The audience clapped but Maka was still looking around for Arusa. There was no sign of him.
Soul: This is dedicated to my best friend, without you I wouldn't be playing again. Thanks Maka.
He started playing the beginning chords of a song that sounded familiar. Then in the corner, there was someone playing acoustic guitar. Suddenly the song hit her. It was the song that played when Arusa had asked Maka to be his girlfriend. From the corner was a voice singing.
"I've been trying to do it right,
I've been living a lonely life,
I've been sleeping here instead,
I've been sleeping in my bed,
Sleeping in my bed."
The light turned to the mysterious singer. Arusa sat on a stool with a guitar singing his heart out. He looked directly at Maka, never once breaking eye contact.
"I belong with you,
You belong with me,
You're my sweetheart. "
Soul played the last chord and the song was over. Maka was in a daze.
Arusa:(Speaking into the microphone) Maka?
Maka snapped back.
Arusa:(Taking off his guitar and walking over the the edge of the stage where she was) Maka we've known each other for about a year and a half. You've been my friend, my girlfriend, and the mother of my two beautiful children.
Maka blushed , but she was too speechless to say anything.
Arusa: I love you so much ,and for some inexplicable reason, you love me just as much.
Arusa took Maka's hand and helped her on the stage.
Arusa: So, I've been trying to figure out how to do this. You can ask any of our friends, it was a struggle getting here, but I think now is a perfect moment.
Maka was trying to peice together what was going on when Arusa got down on one knee. She gasped and brought her hands to cover her face.
Arusa: Maka Albarn, would you make me an even happier man and be my wife. (Pulling out a velvet box)
He opened it and she saw the most beautiful ring in the world. It was a silver band with an emerald on one side, a ruby on the other and a diamond in between the two.
Maka:(Whispering) Yes. (Tears escaping)
Arusa looking up at her as if he had just won the lottery.
Arusa: Yes! (Picking up his new fiance and spinning her around) She said yes!
The audience applauded, some yelled and some whistled.
Maka looked over at where her friends and a newly seated Soul were and mouthed a thank you.
Arusa:(Putting her down) I love you.
Maka: I love you ,too.
He kissed her.
Arusa: Through Hell and back.
