It's been quite a long time since I've written anything, but I've been really bored and I remembered I had this so maybe I'll finish it! It's been so long that I almost can't remember where I left off… Anyway, enjoy!

"Are you packed?" Damon asks Jeremy as he walks towards the front door of the Salvatore boarding house.

"Yeah, I think so."

Damon takes a look inside Jeremy's bag and rolls his eyes. "My God, sometimes you're as dumb as dirt. You were supposed to pack weapons not clothes!"

"Oh…one minute. If you want me to come with you, you don't have to be so mean," Jeremy sulks as he heads back upstairs.

Damon's phone beeps from his back pocket.

"Voicemail from… Stefan. Sure." Damon plays the voicemail and hears his brother's choppy voice through the speaker.

"Damon, it's me. I'm going to stay at Elena's tonight, just to keep an eye out for her. I'll be back in the morning with her. Keep Jeremy safe." The message ends in just 4 seconds.

"How convenient, Stefan. Thank you for staying out of the way while I take Elena's only remaining family member on a devil hunt," Damon smirks to himself.

"Jeremy!" he yells up the staircase. "Are you ready to go yet? So slow."

"Be patient, I'm coming! Maybe if you didn't make me do all the packing we could have left already!" Jeremy retorts, but Damon stays unfazed.

"In the car, snail. I'm so done with the Gilbert family tree."

"So what's the address, Pinocchio?" Damon sneers at Jeremy.

"You know, if you really didn't want me to come you could have just said so!" Jeremy replies angrily.

"I hate to say it, kid, but you might be of use to me. Give me the address."

"She's staying at a motel. 2309 east Franklin street, Dothan, Georgia."

"How long is it going to take to get there?"

"Too long…" Jeremy says as he chuckles.

"So basically, we're going to go inside the motel, go up to the front desk, and sign in for a room. So while I'm talking to whatever guy is there, you look at the list of residents and see if any of them might be related to Lilith. Got it?" Damon plans out as he and Jeremy climb out of Damon's baby blue Camaro.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it."

"This is really important, Jer. We don't want to upset her."

"What was you guys' relationship anyway?"

"The usual…" Damon replies skeptically.

"And the usual is…?" Jeremy opens the door to the motel as he fishes for more information out of Damon.

"Later. Stop bugging me."

Jeremy and Damon walk up to the front desk of the raggedy motel. A balding man with round, wire framed glasses looks up from a book to greet them.

"I'm assuming you would like a room?"

"Uh, yeah. What are the rates?" Damon asks curiously.

"Not high, luckily for you. Forty bucks a night for double beds."

"Ok, we'll take it," Damon says and pulls the notepad to Jeremy to sign his name. "Wait, one minute. I forgot my wallet in the car.

Damon pulls Jeremy to the side. "Is she here?"

"Yeah, I saw a name. Lily Thorne, room four."

"That's got to be her. You head to the room, I'll go to the car and pay and meet you there."

Jeremy heads off with the key to their motel room, number seven, and Damon runs out to his car, only to return less than a minute later. He walks up to the front desk, staring straight into the clerks eyes.

"You won't remember us being here. You also won't remember a nice young lady, about twenty-seven years old. She called herself Lily Thorne."

The man stares blankly as Damon walks down the hall to room seven.

"Jeremy, let me in," Damon whispers as he knocks three times on the beat up wooden door.

Jeremy opens the door and Damon walks in, scanning the Spartan room. There are two beds on opposite sides, and one window facing a lovely brick wall to the east.

"Well this is lame," Damon says snootily as he sits down on the empty bed to his right.

"What's the plan from here?"

"We go knock on Lilith's door. What, you think I'm going to sneak up on her and kidnap her? She would murder me in a second!" Damon rolls his eyes in Jeremy's direction.

"Okay then. Let's go."

Damon and Jeremy walk down the hall silently.

"You sure about this?" Jeremy asks Damon apprehensively as he is about to knock on the door to room four.

"Yes, go right ahead, Macho Man."

"You can stop it with the names," Jeremy says as he taps on the door.

"Who is it?" calls a woman's voice from the inside.

"Uh, we would like to speak to Lily Thorne?" Damon says, trying to disguise his voice from recognition.

"Come right in," says the woman.

They open the door and close it behind them, standing awkwardly in the doorway as a young women, no more than 25 years old, sits on the bland bed watching a show on an old black and white television.

"Damon?" the woman asks.

"Yes. Jeremy, this is Lilith…"

Jeremy starts blankly toward Lilith, his eyes transfixed by her beauty. Damon shakes him awake.

"It's funny how the humans react. Gets me every time," Lilith smiles, with a jolly tone of voice. "What brings you here?"

"We came to ask you about Klaus," Damon replies, his left eye twitching. "You seem to have changed a lot…"

"Oh, no not really. I mean, I've regenerated since we last saw each other. Other than that I'm the same."

"Regenerated?" Jeremy asks no one in particular, his face contorting into a confused mass.

"Listen, Jer, I'll explain later. Lilith and I have some catching up to do," Damon ushers Jeremy out of the room before he can respond.

"Where the hell have you been?" Lilith asks coldly, her voice no longer innocent and sweet.

"If you really wanted to know, maybe you should have followed me home 90 years ago!" Damon yells.

"I could have died, you know that," Lilith replies calmly.

"Yeah, but you didn't even try to find me afterwards, so I left. And you know what's happening now? Your dumb hybrid friend Klaus has done something to the girl I love and apparently you're to blame!"

"Damon, what are you talking about?" Lilith asks, confused by the sudden outburst.

"She's lost her mind. Come on, once Rebekah told me that Klaus had talked to you, it was so obvious you were up to something, I don't know how I missed it before," Damon holds his head in his hands and sits next to Lilith on the bed.

"Damon, I haven't done anything. I haven't talked to Klaus for over ten years. Look at me," Lilith consoles, her eyes lighting up as Damon turns toward her.

Damon falters for a second, before he comes completely transfixed by Lilith as she kisses him passionately on his lips.

So this one kind of turned out to be not what I expected. I was going to make Lilith some terrible monster right away, but decided to add on a bit of a backstory to their relationship. I'll make sure to explain everything that's going on in the next few chapters, just no spoilers yet! Thanks for reading!
