Title: Rescuer
Pairing: Prussia x North Italy
Rating: Um... K+ to T
It wasn't easy being a Knight in Shining Armor, and also a damsel, but Princess Maria managed them both.
After rescuing a couple of damsels- or knights, or villages, or whatever needed rescuing -she would come home just in time to be rescued once by whatever knight wasn't really looking for much of a challenge. But hey, at least she gave them rewards.
And weren't they good rewards.
But... Some days she just felt out of tune with herself. Was she a damsel or a knight? She felt like she had to choose one or the other.
Some days she felt like a damsel. She sat in her tower and wore a dress and sometimes even brushed her hair. She waited for someone to come rescue her, even though mostly they didn't.
Most days, though, she felt like a knight. She wanted to go... Fight dragons, save damsels, and drink lots and LOTS of beer!
It was on one of this days that she met Alice.
And now, don't go saying her name fucking Alice either, oh now, her name wasn't Alice. It was a-lee-che. Italian. Or at least, that's what Alice's sister had said.
(Alice's sister was a bitch, by the way.)
Alice lived in a large tower on the other side of the kingdom. She shared it with her sister, as a sort of two-for-one deal. Which actually backfired because Alice's sister was a total bitch and scared everyone away with her bitchy attitude and the fact that she swore more than most sailors.
(Only one knight ever showed up, and Maria was kind of certain that he was more than a little bit insane, because he was obsessed with Alice's less than awesome sister.)
Alice had light brown hair tied up in a ponytail, rosy cheeks, caramel-colored eyes, and was always smiling. Her sister looked like a darker, poutier, more blushing version of her, and apparently some people got them confused, which Maria thought was weird. They were so different, even just in the way they walked. Alice's posture was always straight, her shoulders relaxed, whereas her sister always walked with her shoulders slightly hunched, like she was trying to hide.
Alice always smiled brightly, and have the time she had a random daisy tucked in her hair that she never remembered was there. She always giggled when she saw Maria, and brushed her bangs out of her eyes.
(Her sister always swore and threw things and grabbed this huge sword that she had for some reason.)
Whenever he sister wasn't around, Alice would invite Maria inside for a steaming plate of homemade pasta and garlic bread. They would talk and laugh about stupid things, and Alice would try to convince Maria to to take her armor off, and Maria would always try to convince Alice to take her clothes off instead. Which was usually when Alice's sister showed up out of nowhere and attacked Maria with a blunt knife or something.
Soon after Alice and Maria met, it seemed like Maria was spending every day with her. She went to bed at night wishing the night would go faster so that she could see her sooner, and she woke up thinking only about finishing her knightly duties so that she could visit her.
And so one day, Maria decided that it was a good time to rescue Alice.
(When her sister wasn't home, because it would have been incredibly hard to rescue her while her overprotective sister was there.)
Maria rode up to Alice's tower and called up, "Fair maiden, I have come to rescue you!"
Alice poked her head out from around the back of the tower. "Oh, Maria, it's you. I'm in the garden right now."
Maria rolled her eyes and rode her horse around back. "I've come to rescue you," she repeated, dismounting and standing over Alice as she picked vegetables from the garden.
"That's nice," said Alice. "Would you pick some lettuce? We're having salad tonight. And pasta, of course."
Maria scowled slightly. "No, because I'm rescuing you! Now you have to come with me!"
Alice got up from the ground, dusting off her skirts. She turned the Maria, placing a hand on her cheek.
"No, not quite." Alice leaned forward and kissed Maria softly on the lips. "I'm rescuing you. Now, come inside and help me start making the sauce."
And with that, she gathered up her vegetables, then turned and waltzed inside, leaving Maria to stand by the garden in shock.
"Well shit," she said finally, sitting down by the garden. "She's got me wrapped around her little finger." She shrugged. "And... I don't really care that much."
She followed Alice inside, humming a little, happy tune.
A/N Soo... Yeah. I have no idea where this idea sprang from...? Anyway.
