Steam poured out of the cracks splitting apart the blue wood. His head was swimming; his eyesight was hazy. The only thing he could see was the blue sky. Wait. Blue sky? He jumped up, almost falling face-first again. Suddenly, a comforting arm wrapped around his shoulder.
"You 'kay, mate?"
It couldn't be. He turned around. Face-to-face with her. He felt tears sting his eyes, and he hastily wiped them away.
She felt his forehead, and frowned to herself when he didn't answer. His small smile vanished. She didn't recognize him.
How could she? It had been a hundred years after all.
"What's wit' the smoke?" she laughed, taking his hand. "You fall from the sky?"
"You could say that."
Hi, thanks for reading so far! The comment I've gotten on this are incredible!
Also, I've taken into account the shortness of the chapter (as well as how unexcusably short this snip was) and I'm working on making them longer, however it may be a while before progress in that area shows.
Thanks for being awesome!
