I didn't even know what to wear, but I found the purple dress my parents had gotten me for my birthday… right before
they died. "Nice, Elena, think about your dead parents right before you go see a cute boy." I thought as I put on the
dress. I glanced at myself in the ceiling to floor mirror. I looked at the stunningly beautiful woman standing in front of
her. She didn't even look like me, she was so much prettier. Like my mom… I sighed and walked downstairs.
We arrived late, of course. Jeremy was being a drama queen, not being able to decide on what to wear. I take that
back, that would be an insult to drama queens. The party was being held at the Lockwood Mansion, where Tyler lived.
I walked up the big front porch steps and smiled at Tyler. "Hey Tyler." I said to him. He smiled at grabbed my arm,
pulling me aside. "Did you know Stefan was coming?" he asked. I looked at him, he looked nervous and a little angry,
and so I replied gently, hoping to calm him down. "Yes, Jer told me. Why does that matter and why do you look so
tense?" He looked at me and took a long breath, "I don't trust him… There's just something… off about him." I nodded,
hoping to avoid the situation, and grabbed his hand, pulling him inside to see if we could find the others.
